How ot delete personal information on the z? - G2 and Desire Z General

I've just bought some paid apps using my credit card, and have found out ive been charged $2 more per transaction. - in my country - australia seems using google check out costs us $2 ontop of whatever hte app costs.
I understand it is my fault for not reading some sort of fine print but this message isnt to complain and rant.
I put in my cc details into my phone, which i would suspect is saved there for future purposes if i was to purchase anymore stuff.
how can i delete them?
in future ill be using paypal- thats for sure.
on my desire z too!

You need to log into your google account from google.com. Then I think it is "google checkout" you need to look for,... then maybe "payment methods" or something similar.
It should be easy to find once you log in though.

given up trying to buy one...

well I tried to buy a Nexus one, Ive now given up, credit and debit card orders refused when there is absolutley nothing wrong with either account, they are business accounts with plenty of funding.
Talk about a tad insulting!
Why on earth dont they take paypal?

Cuz it's Google... so they take Google Checkout. Have you tried non-business accounts?

For a start, make sure you put the correct details in the from for the card.
Talk to your credit card company/bank and stop complaining that it's Google that are at fault. Your CC/bank company is stopping the transaction not Google.
Phone them up and talk to them. If they tell you Google is blocking it then the CC company/bank is lying to you.
Paypal isn't a bank and isn't subject to the same controls and regulations that a cc company or bank are. You also get zero protection, in law, when using paypal. Personally I'd stay well away from them.

Exactly where in my post did I blame Google for denied transactions?
I merely stated facts, and I am also quite capable of fillling in a form or I wouldnt have been running my own business for the last 6 years!
The fact is, that it's not as simple as it should be to buy the phone, I buy goods of far greater value than a phone, and never have any problems, so why the problems buying from Google?
I thought this was a dicussion forum, just wonder how many other people have had these problems buying one?
And yes, I have talked to the bank, and its a security check that flagged up, there must be a reason that transactions are blocked and or checked for Google purchases, maybe its because its the States, most of my buying is done in europe.......
Sorry if i seem to come over a little terse, but then there isnt always too much context within written words....
I can tell you that when I bought my phone, my bank held up the transaction until I called them to let them know I was spending over $300 on a phone. You may want to do the same thing.

It is simple to buy, you just have to talk to your bank. Once of the reasons is that Google don't use 3D secure which (somewhat) guarantees that the user of the card is the owner of it. CC/Banks like 3D Secure because it passes blame (liability) to the customer (see T&C's for 3D Secure/VBV signup for your card). 3D Secure/VBV is, in truth, total crap. IIRC this was born out in a recent paper from Cambridge University in the UK that did analysis and testing on it. One card company even asked for a NEW password if you got the old one wrong 3 times!

It is but it's not a problem solely associated with buying a nexus one. It applies to all online purchasing.

It's highly likely that this is the case. We get horrendous issues with Belgian cc/banks that insist on blocking client orders and then claiming it's us that is doing the blocking.

I don't know if it would make a difference, but you can get a debit card for your Paypal account and use it.
Stop using other's people cards. =P
Really though, my order got held up for not having a phone number in the ship to information. Googles checkout/customer service for the nexus has been pretty sub par.
And I've been running a business for 8 years.
eeee by gum chuck, finally managed to get an order sent, checked the shipping info, and they managed to get the postcode totally wrong, with half the address missing.
Phoned DHL, and they were fantastic, changed all the details and made sure they were correct, she told me that they have shed loads of phone calls reference orders from google with incorrect shipping info, even though the correct details were supplied by the customers, so all I will say if you're buying one, is to check and double check every step of the process.
Man I hope the phone is worth it when it comes, i'm sure it will be, quite looking forward to it..........
Sounds to me if it were a "Google" problem, the same bad address info problem would be apparent with FedEx shipments, but only time I've heard/read about shipping issues is regarding international DHL.

Ordering from Play Store outside US

So, here's the thing. I have a friend living in the US who is coming over to India in about 10 days.
I want to order a Nexus 7 that is delivered to his house & he will bring it with him when he comes here.
I figured out how to access the US Play Store [using a proxy that spoofs an US IP].
Now, can I use my Indian credit card and enter a US billing address ?
Are there any other steps I need to take so that the order goes through ?
If anyone has placed an order or has any experience doing such stuff, I would really appreciate you input.

Can your "friend" not buy it for you using his credit card and you pay him out later? He can pick it up at any retail store stocking N7.
Most CC cards need the billing address to be specified on the file, I suspect transaction with your own CC will be denied.
Besides, have you been reading the forums yet? All the 12-13 manufacturing defects this tablet has?
What will you do if you get a lemon?

Hi there,
I'm a reseller in other country. My customers want to buy google nexus so much that I have to find a way to order it from play store.
I will ship the items to a cargo service in US and then export them to my country.
In the purchase step, I added my international VISA card with billing address is the cargo service address and the shipping address is the same. I did it well and ordered about 200 items last month. However prior last three days, google immediately canceled my all orders if I place new order. I don't know whether google implement their policy about using the US-credit card payment policy more strictly.

You can use your CC, with the REAL billing address. Although from what I've learned, it is possible that your account might be suspended.
But DON'T PANIC.... If it does, write to customer service and provide your ID and CC scans to prove you are not fraud...
There are cases here in China that passed through.
Good luck.

I encountered the same problem recently. Called Google Play support and apparently there is some CC processing issue since Sunday and was still working on it which is consistent with your experience. So just have to wait I suppose. Unless of course the CS is misleading us although he has no reason to do so.
Anyone successfully ordered devices from Google in the last 3 days ?

Hi there,
Thanks for your patience in this matter, my name is Paul E. and I will
help you sort this out today. I really do know how frustrating these
things can be.
According to our records, this purchase was cancelled by our system for
security reasons, but this appears to have been an isolated case that has
since been resolved. I've taken a look at your account and confirmed that
you have not been charged.
Though your order has been cancelled, you may notice activity on your
credit/debit card for this order. Please be assured that the amount on
your card statement is an authorization, not an actual charge, and the
authorization will automatically be removed from your account within 1-14
business days, depending on your bank.
Though we're not able to re-instate cancelled orders, you're welcome to
try your purchase again. If your orders continue to be automatically
cancelled, please do write back and let me know so that we can alert the
proper team and ensure that your orders go through properly.
I hope that answers your question, but feel free to ask any other Google
Play questions you have. I'd also like to let you know to expect a short
anonymous survey about your support experience in the next few days; we
keep trying to find ways to improve our customer support, and your
feedback will definitely help.
Best,
Paul E.

More problems ordering apps
Hi,
Ok, so hopefully someone has a suggestion.
I've been able to order apps just fine using Proxmate extension on Chrome.
The other day it stopped working.
I had my programmer create a proxy to try and get through, and still no luck ordering.
One possible problem is I tried probably 20+ times to order as we were trying to debug the process.
Now, I have an employee of mine in the US loglin to my account, and try to place an order for an app and it gives her the same error - that the order could not be placed for a technical reason.
Anyone have any ideas how I can get around this? I can log in just fine, but can not purchase. If they suspended my account, I would imagine that I would not be able to even login - but that's just a guess.
Any ideas would be most appreciated.
Thanks.

Buying Nexus 4 from Play Store in a not-enabled country

Hi everybody
As we know, the new Nexus 4 will be available on Play Store only in: U.S., U.K., Australia, France, Germany, Spain and Canada.
It also seems almost sure that in all the other countries It will cost much more, for example while in France It will cost 350€ (on Play Store), in Italy It will probably cost 549€!
I'm from Italy, and obviously I don't wanna pay 549€ if I could spend less!
So, how could we get it from abroad?
The main issue is that Play Store only ships in the state where they sell the phone, so I can't directly go on Play Store UK and buy it.
To solve this problem I thought to use a service like forward2me which gives you an UK address to be able to buy the phone, and then they ship the phone to you. The cost is about 32€ for Italy, and 382€ is still a great price for me
There's also USABox, which does the same, but from U.S.
Another problem is that you can't even visit another Play Store if you're not in that state, to solve this we could use Ultrasurf, which is a free proxy-based tool that allow us to vist other Play Store(s).
The last problem is: some people told me that they only accept credit cards that come from that country, so If I would buy It from UK, I'd need a UK credit card. Is this true? And If yes, do you know any possible way to bypass this problem?
Thanks in advance :fingers-crossed:
i want this phone so bad, damn google play store
Maybe try to access in Play Store France with Proxy or VPN. (I don't know really). Search on Google
But, i think Order will be available in others countries later.
You didn't even read my thread, did you?
Yes, you can access differnet country's play store thru VPN. Not sure how to buy though.

...Again?
In order to buy from the UK Play Store you need an UK credit card. Just the shipping address isn't enough. And this is not bypassable, sorry.
I'm Italian too, I hate this damned country! We can't buy from Playstore through proxy because it need you have a credit card in the country you are buying..
1) A supported country credit card is needed
2) a Proxy is not a good idea, as sensitive data is transmitted through it for someone to see
3) The actual product may be delivered to the proxies address

Seems a lot of people are missing the OP's point. He is saying that you need an UK issued credit or debit card.
And to solve this problem for the OP, here in the UK we have what is called a "pre-pay credit card". If you can get someone to get you one in the UK (they sell them at post offices etc) then you should be able to complete the purchase on Google Play UK. But then again if can manage to find someone you are willing to trust £279 you might as well ask them to buy it for you and send it to you in Italy.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I am also in the same situation like you. I live in The Netherlands and no chance to buy it from Google Store.
I am also curious if you can pay it with a credit card from another country. I know some people in Germany where the phone could be delivered and I could pick it up but the main question is about the payment method.
Do you trust services like forward2me? They are reliable? I never heard of them.
I hope somebody could give us more informations and we could get our devices as soon as possible. I can't wait to have it!
My plan:
Use a proxy from the states and hoping that Citibank Credit card, even issued in y country is not a problem, (I can use it to buy from PlayStore when I am connected through a VPN).
Backup Plan:
Shipito offers "Assisted Purchase". I let them buy for me, even it's 17 USD more, and then ship to here.
Plan C:
Order it from Amazon when available
Plan D:
Wait until it available in my country (that's the final plan)
I bought apps from Play Store in The Netherlands using a foreign credit card and it worked without problems. I didn't had to use any proxy or VPN. I am still not sure if it will work with devices. It's really frustrating that Google doesn't extend their play store services.

I think you need to BUY it from amazon or whatever. I don't think It's possible buying it from another countrys Play Store since you probably need a U.S or U.K creditcard depending on where you want to buy it from. My advice is to wait til the price drops or just buy it from another country (not via Play Store). this seems very easily thought of but yeah I think this is the only solution. I myself am currently waiting for the Netherlands release, my predictions are that the phone will be sold unlocked for 350eu if not more. If you really want to buy it from Play Store than I don't really know what you'll have to do but good luck.

I am not willing to pay anything before I know that the software will be bugfree and usable. It's kinda stupid to buy dozens of programs which are not working at all. And fifteen minutes payback is quite a little time to see if the program is what you think it would be. And even if it's only few euros, .. if you are forced to many.. that will be quite a lot of money.

Dear Americans, we use DEBIT cards. Google Wallet only supports Credit Cards. To get a credit card here you need to have a stable income of over 20.000 a year, solid job (no freelance) and be over 21. Which rules out 80% of the users.
Most of the 750 million people in Europe can't even GET a credit card.
So it's not all cheap, greedy people. Keep your prejudice to yourself.
Oh yes, we have prepaid credit cards: They don't support refunds. So we have to find alternative means to test an app.
There, welcome to the rest of the world.
Now, I for one would also like to know if it works. Simply because I use a few apps that are only available for US users. (Stop being so selfish as a market. Really.)

Now, I for one would also like to know if it works. Simply because I use a few apps that are only available for US users. (Stop being so selfish as a market. Really.)

Everyone is an individual. I would agree that more open mindedness is necessary.

A lot of Americans use debit cards on the Play Store just fine. How? Most any debit card attached to a bank account can also be run as a credit card. We call them "check cards" when they have a credit card company logo and can be run as either. The difference? Running as credit has no terminal fee or minimum purchase (as part of the credit card merchant's agreement), does not require a PIN, works in more places, but often requires a signature, withdraws from your bank/checking account (no credit line), and does not have the same consumer protections (harder to get your money back if stolen or misused). Also, many places only take one payment type or the other (credit or debit) so a check card conveniently works at both.
Most anyone with a bank account can get a check card even if they don't qualify for credit. Is it really so different there?

I tried that, no such luck. Our cards only have the account number (9 digits), card number(3 digits) and nothing else. I HAVE no number to fill in to Google Wallet.
Tried using my phone plan, but it asks for a CreditCard Number. Which I don't have. (Hah, good luck getting T-Mobile to issue me a Credit Card. :laugh

That would be very useful. But no, we don't have those. I'm not sure our banks even know of the concept.
We have a Debit card with a 4 digit pin. This is direct withdraw. Maestro, it's called.
For Credit Cards we need to get an additional, paid service (50 bucks a year, I believe. and that's just for the registration, you also need to pay for the card.) with Visa, MasterCard or similar, detached services. They're not directly part of the bankservice.
For instance, I have an account with ABN AMRO. If I wanted to get a credit card, I'd have to apply to VISA or ABN Gold (which then gets me a VISA card. This type of account you can only get if you have a balance of over 50.000 on the account. Which'll never happen. I'm a graphic designer.)
You can't actually pay with a credit card in the shops here. Well, you can, but doing so requires filling out a (paper!)cheque, 25 Euro administration fee and a transaction time of a week. In every shop. For every purchase. And even then 80% of the shops refuse it as a method of payment.
The advantage is that if we ever loose our card (or accidentally put the bill unshredded in the paper bin), people can't empty our accounts without the pin number; with a credit card only the cardnumber is sufficient for payment. (The security code is on the back of a credit card...)
That said, I do have a Prepaid 3V VISA card (It's an alarming shade of pink and can only be charged (pre-charged, it works like a prepaid SIM) up to a specific amount per month, but for Google Play it works well enough. Renting a car, however, has to be done over the course of 4 months.) For the apps I do consider worth the payment. (Apex, Tapatalk, Moonreader, etc.)

Not in Europe, they don't.
Our cardnumber isn't the same as the one they use in the US. It's literally just the number of the card, so when you open an account, you always get 001.
It's not personalized.
Open the account, you get:
Account 112234567, Card 001.
Get a new one card after it expires, is lost or stolen, it's:
Account 112234567, Card 002.
Payment over the internet is done via iDeal or a similar service, which requires a cardreader and works withdynamic codes.

Thanks. Found a workaround (prepaid card), but it's not ideal. (refund costs 10 bucks per refund. Not exactly oleasant for a 0.70 cent app... :laugh
For now we'll just have to wait for Google to get their heads out of their arses, stop moaning about piracy and start realize what the cause of it is. Until then 750 million people will just have to keep cracking.
