Just search the market for either TI-83 , TI-85 , or TI-86 .
AppBrain made all 3.
Pretty cool app IMHO.
Little harder to see than the stock calculator and it wont landscape
but still not bad.
Whatta you guys think ?
since im still in college....this app is amazing lol
thanks for this
:O I am impressed let me finish downloading this massive 8.1gb apk.lib archive and ill be sure to download this also and save it in mSD. Can't waste bandwidth anymore downloading same apps 3000x times as I flash my ROM almost everyday now.
Total voice use: 3,389 minutes
Total voice charges: $3.58
Total message use: 638
Total message charges: $1.40
Total data use: 2,452.4890 MB

^ Current usage, thats alot for web browsing and light video streaming with no tethering. Hell even on HD2 I haven't passed 2GB so ATM I am downloading all apps to SD and done with Freeware(Adware) apps as getting paid versions. Can't stand the useless App Market lol who wants to download/install 90apps every night gets annoying after a week.

downloading either Titanium Backup or MyBackup Root (both have free and paid versions) would completely eliminate having to hit the Market every night to re-install apps. personally I prefer MyBackup as it is basically a "one click" to restore all apps+app data and "one click" to restore all your SMS/MMS, bookmarks, call log and such. I bounce back and forth between a few different ROMs (GorillaSens is my daily driver) and don't have to re-download my apps after initial install.
edit: I also do light web browsing, very little video but I tether my netbook everyday (for those times like now when typing on the touchscreen would suck) and have yet to go over 2GB, hell I usually barely crack 1GB for the month.
Tried Titanium Backup didn't like it much. Mostly I like to have the packages physically thats why I am downloading them ATM. Hell we don't even need any app's to do this as you can manually mv the data cache. But as me being neat freak I have to install it manually to satisfy myself lol I hope we fully migrate to *nix world and totally use ext4 for main fs. Will me so much easyer to do post install for ports and upgrading the base without losing /usr data.

Hello,
I was wondering how many mb's you guys run through daily and how often do you use the internet/messenger
for example would 10mb a day suffice? how many instant messages or web pages could i view for that?
Thanks, just looking to compare to see what would be good for me, my 8525 arrives friday
could be anywhere from 21 to 51 mb in a day depending on what i find while browsing for things to install on my Vario II. if it's alot of graphics and downloads like themes and such from Wisebar's site then expect a 50mb day. if it's only browsing here and 4winmobile then closer to 20mb assuming any downloads i do aren't roms for the vaior or any of my other phones
thanks for the reply
i wont be doing much downloading from it except for the occasional mp3, other than that just browsing the net and using aim/msn
do you know how much data an aim/msn message consumes?

It depends on your needs.
I only use it for updating the weather (~ 5kb a time), some instant messaging and some tv text (app I wrote since my tv has no text :') )
I've got a 50Mb limit a month and I use SPB GPRS monitor to monitor my usage.
Last month I've been using it not a lot, because I wanted to be sure that I would not get some suprises on my monthly bill. 10 Mb a month is not that much. But consider using your WIFI too when you're close to a WIFI hotspot.
IM doesn't consume that much, it's more the MP3's. If you've 10 MB a month, than you can download maybe 2 MP3's....
Though I must say that downloading MP3's is not something you should do with your PDA. But that's just my personal opinion.
^Its 10mb a day not a month stated in my first post, although there is a 50mb a day package too i was considering
Im not contemplating downloading a lot of mp3's, but im sure there will be times on the go when i cant get to a wi-fi spot and need to download one.
50 mb a day, would that cover a fair amount of msn/aim and web browsing in one day?
i have no clue about these bandwidth monitors so im not sure how much websites take up(on average)
i can use upto 150mb a day but i also use spb GPRS monitor to make sure i don't go to mad!
Now I'm not trying to make this into a competition but I'm just trying to get an idea of how many apps people have installed. I want to get an idea what is a lot and what the average is.
I have 159 apps installed and they are installed in my SD card.
How about you?
PS... EASY WAY TO COUNT YOUR APPS IS BY USING ATRACKDOG AND ONCE ITS FINISHED SCANNING YOUR APPS CLICK ON "VERSION TRACKING" ON THE BOTTOM. NEXT PAGE SHOULD DISPLAY YOUR TOTAL NUMBER OF APPS.

i have apps on my sdcard to, got as high as 113 but went down to 40
I've got 139 installed here, but once the Market gets paying apps, I think I'll need to get a 16Gb sd card and increase the size of my ext2 partition.
...really you guys? I only have 4 installed
Holy crap you guys I only have 39

What the heck do you guys have installed??? That's like having 9 pages of iPhone apps...and barely using them.
i use ALL of my apps (not including the 5 games i have) some of them are extentions to other apps like oi convert csv, and oi voice notes and tts.
i've installed about 5 apps and thats about it!
What are they

Err, quite a bit, actually. I have a wonderfully powerful computer (with phone, wifi, internet access, etc.) in the palm of my hand, and I want it to do whatever I need it to do within a few swipes and taps
Note:
No kittens where harmed during photoshopping of the middle image to protect the innocent
I have 73 apps installed but about 20 I really dont need that are just for fun like the Mr T sound board. I dont think I could ever get as high as some of you guys.
I didn't realize I had that many. I have 123 so far (didn't really look very carefully but I'm sure that includes some of the stock apps that came preinstalled). I don't even worry about space anymore now that all my apps are being ran through the SD.
Yikes.....
Erm.... thought more people would be closer to what I apparently have amassed --- well color me surprised.
I currently have 266 apps installed.
Here's a screenshot of aTrackDog - incidentally, is there any other way to display total # of apps??
Last count 102 here.
Holy Batman! 266 apps? haha. Here are the apps I have.

Yes click on version tracking on atrackdog. It will show you there. I just put this in the main post too so people dont have to count 1 by 1.
40+ and all of them are on internal memory.
83 and growing
honestly guys i dont use many of the 83 apps i have but i do use almost 15 of them .
was just trying to see how many apps i can do on my sd card without feeling a little lag. have 1.1GB on EXT2 only 180MB is used and i dont think i can fill it. and by the way the phone is noticeably slowing down now. takes about 3 to 4 seconds to accept a call after i press it.
I actually use all the apps I've downloaded. I don't see any sense anything other than I need.
This has happened to me numerous times and i'm wondering if its a common issue:
You receive a call and you cant slide the slide the slider to accept the call for the life of you. A sew seconds later you get a dialog saying that the Dialer app is not responding; Force close /Wait.
This usually happens when you're trying to load a web page or playing a game. (anything processor intensive)
Is there a fix for this? Maybe set the priority of the dialer process higher if you have root ?

this happened a lot with G1... but never with Nexus One. I even watched movies or listened to music etc., and still the call will come through immediately.
I wonder how many apps you have installed, and how much memory you have left?
Cleaning up all unnecessary apps you never use + checking all automated services (such as feed readers, news/weather updaters, Email probers, etc. should be set to decent times (e.g. my news feed reader never loads news automatically, only on app start, weather updates every 4 hours, etc.)
I have a LOT of apps installed (around 180). Only about 20MB internal disk space left.
In fact I frequently need to uninstall apps to install new ones
I don t have a lot of apps running. Usually about 40-50MB RAM free.

WOW WOW WO
180 apps? How can you possibly make use of them all? I have 120 right now, and already feel it's too much (like... do we really ever use Google Goggles, or Finance?, or Wikitude, or... or...)
I have about 90MB internal disk space left, and I don't want to go much lower than that
But I guess what's killing you is that a lot of these apps, although maybe not running permanently, will wake up from time to time, to check your location, to update this or that, to do this or that....
I would try to reduce the number a lot and see whether the problem goes away, maybe say at 50MB internal space.
I always tell myself, even if it's cool to show off an app to a friend, if I don't really use it a lot or at all, I can delete it and always install it again if I want to - that's the beauty of the market (also paid apps remain paid, and can be redownloaded for free, unless you have refunded them).
hope it helps
another thing that could give you another 40MB, + using the second memory bank which is currently not in use on stock is to root the phone and flash cyanogen's CM 5.0 beta5 (or wait until it's out of beta).
That's maybe why I have 90 MB left at 120 apps, and you have only 20 MB left at 180 apps.
This would also provide more RAM, and you could run smoother with the number of apps open.
but just do the rooting if you really want to, as it voids warranty

Thanks for the advice. cyanogen's ROMs are very tempting, but looking at the changes it looks like it gets better every week. I think I'll wait for a bit before rooting and jump in at 5.0 FINAL.
I looked at my free RAM and out of 1 GB I only have around 350 mb free!
That and I disabled ALL widgets!
I looked at running apps with advanced task manager and there is all of this crapware like Pulse etc running. I cleared memory and got some back but not much. As soon as I turn the tab back on all of the junk comes back and drains my battery 10% overnight with wifi OFF on a wifi only tab.
It is ridiculous to only have less than half of my RAM available. On my phone I lost half of that to bloat too. I bet if this tab had 2GB of RAM they would fill 1.75 GB with crap.
What gives? Why do they insist on doing this and not letting ME choose what I want running on MY tablet? Can I get rid of or freeze all of this junk?
They are just cached and automatically freed up when an application needs more RAM. But I do agree that Andriod does a very aggressive caching even on apps never used. Why not remove it with TB?
Free ram has no purpose. It will take and free RAM as it sees fit. If you force it to use less ran, it will run slower. Let it manage the ram itself, this is how Unix has worked since the start and it's working perfectly fine.

+ 1 on this. It's seriously easy to get a bit neurotic about system resources. If your tab is running fine just enjoy it and don't sweat the numbers.

Yeah but I don't need Pulse, buddies now, family locator, Samsung game hub blah blah running and eating up CPU and battery either (as well as internal flash memory). I will never use that crap so I might as well get it gone. I am not sure why it opens stuff up that I never use or never have.
Is there a list somewhere on what can be nixed and what can't?
I would like to bring this thread up again.
I do have the same problem as DaveC1964.
All I want is a "clean looking" tablet without Google+, Pulse, SocialHub,GameHub etc.
I also hate that those apps connect to the web. I know you can disable that, but I want them gone.
I only use the internet browser, youtube and pdf app.
How do I uninstall those preinstalled annoyences?
Is there a way to do this without a custom ROM?
Thank you
you'll need to root your tab and use titanium back to remove the bloatware. be careful with what you remove though as it may affect other apps. always make a backup.

Best you initially just freeze the offending apps with Titanium Backup instead of uninstalling/deleting them right away - that way you can always re-enable them if your system should become unstable or start acting up.

As long as you do not run the apps and dosen't setup accounts they are not accessing the web i think.
I love Pulse!
Thank you for your answers.
I am going to root my tab and use titanium backup afterwards.
Startup Manager
you can easily sort out all the bloatware, unneeded startup apps and make your tab fast I've tested it does a great job

I've been using Galaxy 3 (I5801) for 2+ years now,
Always wanted to upgarde the phone and get something cool, but due to personal problems never had 20K spare to buy a decent phone so was almost forced to keep using it month after month.
Thanks to kyrillos for giving us Rom updates so we kept living with this device till date.
Recently my phone started being very very sluggish, Games were out of question, it used to make me bang my head even with basic apps like Maps and browser used to make it beg for a reboot.
I usually restarted phone but this was getting on my nerves and reboot sometimes needed another reboot as not all apps show up, whatever.
I have around 100 apps Installed, not used everyday but love having them for some occasional use.
Today I was in urgent need to use a bank app. and phone gave me more frustration so I started playing around to see what can help me make it usable for another couple of months.
Earlier I've been using "Android System Info" to view the available ram and processes and kill the ones not required to run, Don't know why apps like youtube, cyanogen stats, titanium backup tries to run when their was no Active or scheduled usage, this kept sucking RAM off this poor phone which started showing lags of death.
Anyway to cut this post short, I found a App called " All-In-One Toolbox (14 Tools) - System Optimizer" which offers 17 tools in one decent price i.e. Free.
installed it and tried quick boost, phone was on 14% available RAM and it jumped to 51% and phone was smooth like new, then came the other included tools in "AIO Toolbox"
Used "Cache Cleaner" and it gave some extra MB's to phone memory.
Then used History cleaner to get more junk deleted
Then ran SDCard Cleaner and cleaned old "LOGS" and some more junk.
Then used "Boot Speedup" and unchecked the junk which ran along every reboot as they were not required.
Unchecked in user : Skype, Task Reminder, Titanium Backup, youtube, officesuite, etc etc so they don't load at boot.
unchecked in system: email (I am sure not required when you use "gmail" app already), SIM Toolkit.
Once went through all things to double check, did the reboot, and guess what, Didn't had a single "LAG " since last 12 hours,
used it like I used my phone during weekdays and didn't needed to curse or abuse it, not even a reboot.
Ah my head feels relaxed as i didn't banged this phone on my head since morning.
Please don't take this as I am promoting any app, Fact is I am not working for anyone, not even in real life. :crying:
This is just my personal experience with this phone and wonders this excellent toolbox did to it.
Thanks for sharing this also don't worry there's always going to be tough times in life. It will get better soon; all the best.

Thanks dilzo.
Update: Started using ZDbox (All-In-One toolbox). to speed up and its working more better as settings had an option to Auto-boost once Ram is below 50MB.
this one includes a easier cache cleaner and many new features like DND mode and Also the battery stats including info during charge is more precise and detailed.
I use an app called "App Quarantine" and freeze apps that use ram in the background. Example, Google Maps. I use maps once a week, but it uses ram all the time. So I just unfreeze it when I need it.

Kyrillos yet to update his Rom, I don't want to run this phone on 1366Mhz for sure.
I am using marcellusbe's ROM CyanogenMod 7.2 (Alpha9 )
and phone is snappier and happier.
I know this has nothing to do with the topic but i wanted share. I just found out about an app called sidebar lite (i saw it in qbking77' s video ). Its a mutitasking app like the one in the note 2 .

Hello
For sure...
I use Kyrillos Rom with this 1366Mhz fugumod kernel, and it's working very fine ! No lag, no bug...
Now I only use my I5800 when I do running with the Runtastic app to track my course with G, just wifi.PS (to keep my new Acer V370 free from sweating), along with FM radio or music player and to have a phone with me in case of emergency (as, even with no sim card inside, it's possible to call emergency numbers).
Here are my Quadrant stats :
Total : 829 (around 520 with stock rom )
CPU : 1214
Mem : 474
I/O : 1469
2D : 758
3D : 230
Until now, no bug encountered...
