Which NAND rom for HD2 is most complete? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Is it MDJ's rom?

ROM which i use is 99% stock Desire HD. Work everything like on Desire HD. I`m haven`t any problem with him.
MDJ kernel is great for overclock and underclock and still save battery life in combination with SetCPU.
Battery life is longer then battery on Desire HD.

I am using MDJ CM7 2.4 and everything works that I can tell (have not found anything that doesnt)
a few apps can be tricky (angry birds, can knockdown) they install to the sd card which I am not sure if its a CM thing or a 2.3 thing...but if you go into manage applications and move the app to the phone, they work just fine.
...also for mms (if thats your thing) you can go into the stock messaging app and change the user agent to custom and enter "nexusone" (without the quotes) your mms messages will not be blurry.
I have not messed with a lot of the sense (Desire) builds as they only leave about 400mb of app storage...I get over 850mb with MDJ's CM build (using a US 1024 HD2 of course)

Desire or Desire HD NAND build cant move to SD need help

Hi guys,
I've just move to nand desire HD build from the android development. I've got now 150Meg of internal memory left. usually when dual booting both winmo and android I've got 2gbs of data.img but now with NAND I'm a little clueless because I want to install lots of space and it's limited to 150megs and both desire and desire HD the option to move to SD is greyed out.
is there a way to enable this?
there must be a post somewhere, but i cant seemed to find it. so i opened a new thread.. sorry if I cause problem on this
Hendra
Try using Titanium Backup to move all the user apps to the SD. I just did it on mine because I only had 16MB left. I now have 74MB, so I'm a tad happier
Just installed Titanium Backup but i cant seemd to findan option to move all the user apps to the SD.. only Overview Backup/Restore and explore tab ><
if you can pls provide an exact step for this.. sorry for the inconvinience
There is an option.
Go to tab Backup/Restore , press and Hold the App you want to move to sd and choose last option "move to sd"
P.S. :
I recommend neither DHD nor Stock Desire, Because DHD is very laggy (IMO) and Desire Stock is fast but it's not rooted . So you better try Cyanogen's .

What's LEO1024 ? TMOUSE what does it do? i'm a little clueless on this. If it's an Android I'll try it out. but winmo? I'd skip it..
Tmous (T-mobileUS) is the US version of the HD2, It surpasses the European HD2 with 1GB internal storage ; he meant to replace your whole device

which android for my htc hd2?

i recently purchased HTC HD2 phone that comes with windows mobile 6.5.
I don't have a problem with it but some friends praised Android. I tried froyo on my sd card but it didn't work very well. it crashed and didn't load properly. Then someone told me that i've to remove windows mobile and install android fresh.
Can anyone suggest if android runs well on htc hd2? will i be able to use camera, phone, wifi, data, gps with android? But primarily it should work like any phone out there, after all its a phone.
Go to the HD2 Android Dev forum. There should be AmeriCanDroid.
That's a good stable build that I'm using.
SD base.
As far as I remember, AmeriCanDroid is for US T-Mobile users. If you use european version then I would suggest trying ROMs by Rafdroid (it's of course only my suggestion, but his ROMs are most stable for me.)
go to android NAND development and search for the stickies. there is a link which show a lot of android builds.
you can choose by yourself what kind of android you prefer (sense builds, stock froyo, gingerbread etc.) just give it a try
I´m personally on typhoons cm7 which runs really great.
but do i have to remove my existing windows mobile on my htc hd2?
will i be able to sync all my contacts, text messages with android?
Android works with google, so you can put the contacts in your gmail and it will sync with android on the telephone. Text messages wont work as far as I know
Just like the other people say, take a look in the android nand section and read the sticky's, they tell you everything you need to know.
I'm on the HyperDroid and works great
read thist thread, it will help you to decide.
ps: mods, this thread should be stick. its very helpfull to noods and more advanced users

Actually, they post US and ex-US builds each time a new build is released. Many ex-US users post there, but far too many US and ex-US ask the same tired questions over and over. Read the FAQ, and enjoy a good build.
id go for this thread HERE, which should help you get started.

Me too. It is stable and has low battery usage.
Development is in progress, the remaining issues should be fixed soon.

I followed the steps provided at thread provided by gizmolisa2006.
After step 3 was done, which was to install MAGLDR 1.13 and it flashed (if thats the correct word) ROM to 2.00.000.0 by running ROMUpdateUtility.exe.
after that i pressed the power key and it doesn't go into bootloader or the magldr menu doesn't come up. i did what it said in that video as well. but no luck.
now my hd2 is stuck on white background with pink "Stick Together" logo.
Can anyone please help?
Did you flash HSPL first?
cap
my bad, i was suppossed to install 2.08.hspl instead of 3.03.
its working fine now.
I installed gingerbread i guess.

help... i don't really know what type HTC HD2 i m using.. i m confused by so many types in the market, leoxxxx...t-mobile, htc sense?
i suggest hyperdroidgbx cm7 v1.0.3 runs great super fast and stable as all hell for me...only froze on me once so far and it was while i was streaming videos using flash...
great build
The most important thing is to get proficient at flashing your hd2 so that you can try out a few builds. Once you get hspl and magloader on your phone, I recommend coredroid simply because the instructions for getting clockwork recovery on your phone and installing coredroid are laid out fairly clear in a file with the download. From there you can try flashing other builds if coredroid doesn't suit your needs. I'm currently using hyperdroid and it's great for me.

[Q] Best WORKING 100 rom for Legend

Hey,
after official froyo update there's not much to wait for on Legend - there wont be any official Gingerbread that's for sure. So I was wondering if theres any rom which is working flawlessly like official one (I mean that EVERY part of phone is working without problems - wifi, radio, 3g etc) which has newer features than Official Froyo?
bonus question: I want to change sd card for bigger and I was wondering if I can simply transfer all the data to pc and then back to the new card - will that work? - I would like to avoid installation of everything again..
You can safely transfer SD files back from a computer to the SD.

Like a PC when u reinstall an OS u will have to reinstall programs (apps)on your phone if u put a new Rom on it. I have re Romed my desire 6-7 times in the last 6 months its a pain having to D/L the apps again and install them but not realy a big deal, the best thing to do is download app packs of the net and store them in a folder on your SD card and access them from there for reinstalation rather than searching for them again on the app market.
Oxygen 2. RC7 Rom was the best and smoothest rom I found on the desire except the video cam didnt work which was going to be addressed on the next version RC8, not sure it will work on the legend but worth checking out, I have been running the latest REDUX Rom for the last month and that is pretty good as well
ok thanks
I can recommend Blayos B 0.7, working excellent for me.
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App
I use cyanogenmod 7.0 RC4 at the moment.
For me the full hardware is working after the Update on the latest radio.
This means: 3G, Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM-Radio, Compass, G-Sensor, ...
Wait the time for the release of CM-7 and then give them a try.
You will be surprised how fast your Legend can be
---
By this way:
Thx to the devs for the great work!
Just use cyanogenmod, it is great
Sent from my Legend using XDA Premium App
Either Blayo's or CM6 for Froyo.
As for your apps, just install Titanium Backup and backup all your apps. Then transfer those backup files to your pc and back to your new SD then restore. But IF I'm not mistaken, you can just simply move the app data around. If those apps are installed on your SD then it might not work.
ok guys thanks for answers
Hi,
Im currently running on CM7 Nightly Build 32. For me everything is working, only one thing is annoying, the USB transfer rate seems to be USB 1.1.
Data-Transfers are very slow, e.g. CM7 Rom file with 82 MB needs 15 minutes. I'm not sore if it is related to CM7 or Gingerbread Kernel.
Cheers,
Stolich
I would higly recommend the CM7 Nightlies, I have the 7. 08.35.21 radio and full hardware functions. U can clock it "safely" to 787 mhz, switch to ADWLauncher Pro and the phone feels like a Optimus 2X
Write 24 mbit/s
Read 75 mbit/s
its slow, but still usb 2.0, those speeds is probably because my sd card sucks.

[Q] MIUI questions

Hey,
i´ve tried some MIUI roms and i really like their style.. but i wish there were not "iphone-style" app drawer (all apps on pages) but rather a "normal" app drawer like in adw launcher/launcher pro (one button to "join" all apps in a vertical menu).
is there a way (mod/app) to get such a "button"?
also is there an icon-set with "normal" (stock) icons?
and whats about the battery drain... my installed rom drained about 100-200 in standby without WLAN/GPS. that shouldnt be normal, or?
hope you can help me and sry for noob questions
greedings
Just install adw or launcher pro or go launcher... Your applications will be in a drawer... These home replacement applications do have theme of their own... Some are free in the market... As for battery drain... Idk I always carry a spare battery... if I'm not on the net... My phone last the whole day
HTC HD2 Miui 1.7.8
[email protected]
try patensa's sense-like miui.it uses vertical app drawer.
but if im using a home-replacement app the miui theme will not work anymore or? :/
then i´ll take a look at patensas sense like miui. thanks.
if this isnt like my wish - i stay at hyperdroid :/
thank you guys
greedings
edit:
the suggest rom looks really great. (this)
do you know if im able to change the look of the dock-bar ? (i´ll try it myself but maybe i get some quick answer ^^)
edit II:
another, general, question.
if i did a full backup of my hyperdroid, am i able to restore data partition to restore my settings and app data?
(restoring sd-ext worked)?
Miui theme still work. Hyperdroid is also a great rom
HTC HD2 Miui 1.7.8
[email protected]
i installed miui rom. and its rly nice.
batterydrain in standby: 5mA !!! (on hyperdroid i got 15-64mA).
now im mixing up the standard apps from hyperdroid and miui and customize the dock icons a bit and et voila - i got a hyperdroid MIUI
Not to destroy your joy but miui is generally slower than CM7 based builds
mh drain gets higher .. ^^
slower? quadrant score is about the same as hyperdroid cm7 ^^
now flashing my mixed version
maybe is it possible to copy the settings.apk from miui build to the hyperdroid rom i really like that settings layout oô
edit:
ok it dosnt work :/ so i try to install it step by step
edit ii:
ok i stay at hyperdroid :x XD
edit iii:
trying modify miui again now
ok i found some nice solution for my "app launcher" problem.
using the default home launcher with this app now:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154299
seems really great
other question..
i´ve got a full nandroid backup of my CM7 hyperdroid rom (cwm recovery backup) am i able to restore sd-ext AND data partition to
get my "old" apps with their settings etc back?
ok it didnt work with restoring data
whats about hiding apps... ?
boyppc-shiftpda MIUI V12
Hi there
i need to ask a question with regards to the boyppc-shiftpda MIUI V12 update if any one is using it is the ASD2+ working for you am still getting the internal memory of the device even when i used the DATA2SD folder supplied by BoyPPC but still it is not working unlike the DHD Rom by BoyPPC it is working using the DATA2SD folder on root .
i really like MIUI the themes are amazing it is like using a new phon every day but also i need the space for my applications and games so unfortunately i had to stick to the DHD rom hoping to get a solution to make the MIUI use my 2GB EXT3 partition i have on my SD
awaiting your reply

You can try advanced restore in CWM to try to restore your settings and apps. The problem is that you changed from a CM7 build to MIUI, so some apps will force close. You can try to reinstall them and reset the data.
Best to do is to backup the miui ROM too, try to restore the data from the cm7 build, and if it goes wrong, restore the miui build. (Use advanced restore to restore only certain parts of the backup)
just use titanium backup to restore your apps. works great for me even when switching between cm and miui.
and as already said just use another launcher if you don't like the iphone style. i use golauncher and you still have the different lockscreens your themed taskbar, miui settings and every other advantages of a miui build. it has also an implemented feature to hide apps that you don't want in your app drawer
and miui is not slower than a cm build but the battery drain is much lower for me.
mh im back on cm7 now :/ but im switching between these roms
the only "bad" thing at miui is, that you´re not able to hide apps at homescreens
(i know thats iphone-typical... but i dont have an iphone ).
so there should be a way to hide icons/apps - and NOT with folders.. ^^
i just want ONE page with some apps and clock widget... now ~5 pages with apps or
messed up folders with non used apps :/
the alternative app drawer rocks - using it with cm7 also now
the restore in cwm with sd-ext and data dont work - only able to restore sd-ext (dont have any FC).
so i´ll just w8 maybe there will be sometimes a option to hide apps :/
Best way is to put all your apps in a folder called apps or have a few folders called things like social, news, and games
Sent from my HTC HD2 using Tapatalk
yeah i know but i dont really like such a dirty solution there should be a better way possible ^^
i tried to put all my apps (arround 50-60 (with rom standard apps)) into a folder.. if i opened it, it seems to be really lagful.. so im just waiting for some other way.. ^^

[Q] Which ROM is more stable and fast? TYPHOON CM7, HYPERDROID CM7, RAFDROID HD 4.2

can anyone pls tell me which rom is the most stable and fast?
best rom
for me best rom iv used is dorimanx rom and dorimanx kernel fast stable so far games play well but u need set up as explained to the letter on first page dorimanx rom
I've tried all of them and out of those three i would have to say its a tie between TYPHOON and RAFDROID HD. So now the question you need to ask is what do you prefer, Cyanogen or HTC Sense.
Both run very smooth and in the past was my daily ROMs for several months each at a time. I personally would go with RAFDROID but thats just my choice.

thank you for the reply but before i read this i installed hyperdroid cm7 but unfortunately i got a problem after the second reboot the camera stopped working and this message shows up
"The application camera(process com.android.camera) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again."
can you please help. thank you
You can quite easily switch ROMs by backing up your applications through Titanium backup then flashing a new ROM, but to solve it on hyperdroid, try wiping the camera data in settings > manage applications > camera > clear data. I think I had a similar issue once and this solved it for me. And don't worry, it won't delete the pictures from your SD card or anything like that
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA
Typhoon is THE most stable, period
Dorimanx is heavily tweaked ROM and kernel, but f*** it's unstable.
+1 to this, the first ROM I flashed was Typhoon and I've never been able to use a single other ROM for more than a week before flashing back to Typhoon. I've never done a single wipe since the first time I flashed it over a year ago (the most I've done was to repartition) and runs smoothly still, with over 100 apps installed. I think using Typhoon has raised the standards too high for me to even consider using another ROM in the near future
