My Android market updated itself from the new market 2.11 to 2.13 which is the old Android market for some reason.

Mine too ......
its probably because you updated it manually like an app. it probably installed itself into /data/app/ instead of /system/app/. if you use root explorer, paste the .11 market into /system/app/ then install it there. delete the older market. this way it will stay on reboot.
And a big ol' thanks to you, Simms22. Same thing happened to me.

When the Market updates itself, it puts the updated version into /data/app, exactly the same as if you were to manually update it.
No app ever replaces an apk on /system/app, because it can't.
2.13?
Could someone please upload the .apk for the 2.2.13 version? It seems the latest i have is 2.2.11. Does anyone think its a bit odd that the latest version is back to the old market? Anyone think al the Nexus S problems are because of the new market? I know my Nexus only every reboots after i just close market.. hm...
After upgrading to Gingerbread on N1 I have the old style market. I'm on Market 2.13 now, I don't know what I was on before. Is this the latest market?
No, but it will update itself pretty quickly.
Huh. I have Market 2.3.2.
(file deleted)
My current collection of Market.apks:
Market 2.06.apk
Market 2.07.apk
Market 2.12.apk
Market 2.13.apk
Market 2.2.7.apk
Market 2.2.11.apk
Market 2.3.2.apk
My market has just upgraded to 2.3.3 now.
I've been on 2.3.3 for about a week now, and it has remained that even after the upgrade.

That happened to me when I updated but I had to just uninstall and it upgraded the right way

Hi,
I got my Vibrant and I love it! One question i have though is about root. I want to remove the bloatware but will I lose anything if I root? Touchwiz? Anything?
Also, if I remove the bloatware and happen to reset my phone later, would the bloatware come back?
You will lose nothing and it takes like 2 minutes to root your phone.
rooting has no downside that i know of. if you wipe those apps will not come back as far as i know
Awesome, Thank you both for the info
make sure you back up your data
If i root, will i be able to update when samsung puts out an update or anything such as that?
You will be prompted to update, but the update will break the root.

You will need to re-root and it will most probably be available before the update. I'm hoping the custom 2.2 rom will be available by then

So if i just update from a rooted one, it will just go to 2.2 from samsungs without it looking like i ever rooted?

If i root will i be able to uninstall all the crap that came with it? Make the battery run longer, and will i be able to revert at any time if i wish?
Okay i removed the Kindle, MobiTV, Avatar, GOGO, Slacker and telenav. The weird thing is that root explorer doesnt want to set it back to r/o and i had 183mb used, relaunched root explorer and now i have 253mb used...did I do something wrong?
EDIT:
Also is it bad that i went into data/data and deleted the folders belonging to what i removed?
EDIT2:
I restarted the phone and now everything force closes >.>
How does one uninstall the bloatware while rooted?

Install Root Explorer from the market and remove the .apks from system/app

is there a how-to for updating ones version of busybox. i'm on an older version i noticed and would like to update to the newest one... not because i need to, but just because i like to have the most recent versions of the programs on my phone.
1.17.3 is the latest and i'm on 1.16.2
There is one in the market, if you have titanium backup hit the problems button.

Has anyone else noticed that RyanZA's one click lag fix has disappeared from the market? I only ask because I had to restore my phone to factory, and wanted to root again and we all know OCLF is the easiest way to do it.
Pulled from the market I read that it didn't work with jk6
V5 custom vibrant
Actually, it works just fine with JK6. Using it right now on a stock install.
Try www.4shared.com just use search!

Thank you, darkside. Found it, installed it, and flashed a new ROM.
Hey guys,
Actually I'm the one who hosts Ryan's OCLF on the market. Google pulled it because they said it exploited Android due to the rooting ability. I'm working with Ryan to get it up again but it will end up being a new package. Google will not unsuspend the existing one.
I sure hope Google isn't turning all Apple on us with their Market policies. :| Being able to do whatever I want with my phone is one of the main reasons I <3 Android.
what's the latest version?
Any update on this?

according kryptyx, the one hosting ryan's OCLF google pulled it out because it exploits android (root access) i think
So I have been using the scramble 2.2.1 from Rendeiro2005. Very happy with it and will stick with it until there is a good 2.3 mod out.
One weird issue I have been having is that I am unable to update the XDA app that came with the mod. When I go to update it, I get "installation unsuccessful". I tried to just uninstall and reinstall and I am unable to uninstall. With root uninstaller, I get "uninstall unsuccessful".
Not a huge deal, but it is a bit irritating. I looked through the whole thread in the developers forum and didn't see anyone else with this issue. Anyone have any ideas about this?

Oh yeah, when I try to upgrade and it fails, I click on the notification and it says "package not signed correctly".

Ok so I got on a computer and did some searching. I seem to fail at searching the forum from my phone, because I found this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1030053
It is odd, because the OP on that thread was having issues with calls and other things because he didn't patch his baseband. I am on 2.1.54 and not having any other issues besides this one. Do I need to do something with the baseband?
you are not able to update XDA app coz its in /system/app folder and not /data/app
as per my understanding
that's becuase it comes packaged with the rom itself.....
BTW any specific reason why you want to update the app...

I checked for an update because it crashed a couple of times and it gets hung up every so often. I uninstalled it with titanium like in the other thread and I am now getting "Incompatible Update" just like that other guy. Now I have nothing.
I made a backup with xrecovery about week ago and I guess i can restore that to get the app back, but I would like to fix this instead. Is there some reference I can remove to be able to install the app in the /data/app folder?
I'm a new user to Android and with the help of some threads on here I was able to root and then unroot my phone to get the 2.3.5 OTA. My problem is now I can't redownload some apps since the OTA, MLB at bat for example. When my phone was stock, and when it was rooted the app downloaded with no issues. Now since the 2.3.5 update it says the app is not compatible with my phone when I try to send the download from the My Market page. Any ideas on how I can get this and a couple other apps to download or do I have to wait for them to be compatible with 2.3.5? I'd rather not re-root the phone right now cause I'm still having signal issues and my need to take it into Sprint for replacement.

Wait for the market to update for the new 2.3.5 build fingerprint. Once that is done you will again have access to protected apps.
