[Q] Override earphone insertion auto-detection - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hi All,
I think I may have damaged the audio jack on my Imagio, and now it thinks the earphones are always plugged in.
Does anybody know of a way to disable or override the audio jack sensing in software, so that the phone will not attempt to use it?

problem with the mic

i have the following problem: when i plug my wizard to my car stereo via 2.5mm stereojack cable the build-in mic stops working so i can't talk using the cars stereo...is there any reg-edit or program that can allow the built-in mic to work while the cable (or any handsfree) is inserted? i read somewhere that there were people that have their cables plug but still the mic is running...can you tell me if your jack has 3 poles or 4 poles? thanks in advance!
help please [;
i'd rather say it's a hardware problem. in most headset jack sockets i've encountered it's done by a jack plug simply unpluggin' built in speaker/mic due to the design of the socket. of course i may be wrong, nut i'd say registry has nothing to it...
i think as you do, but someone mentioned on another post that he puts the cable and the built in mic continues to work.

Microphone detection bug?

So I have a 3.5mm jack in my car that connects to the AUX function in the stereo. I used to use this for handsfree with my previous device. (The microphone being used was the phone's microphone, with the 3.5mm jack outputting callers through the car speakers)
Does anyone know how to get the HD2 to properly recognise that the plug being plugged in doesn't have a microphone? It seems to chop off any voice function because the HD2 thinks I've plugged in a headset with a builtin microphone when this one doesn't have that.. It's just a regular 3.5mm jack.
Perhaps a registry hack? Could this be a hardware limitation?
Thanks for any help!

Recording audio from microphone input

Hey guys,
I'm just wondering if it's possible to record audio with own microphone (or other devices, like players etc), which is connected to the headset microphone input? Would it be possible to connect a mono chinch cable from a microfone to the headset input? Is there any app for recording this way?
Thanks a lot!
microphone
Yes it is possible. I have already experimented with an external microphone.
You can connect an electret microphone capsule to the phone using the headset jack connector.
HTC uses 4pin 3,5mm Jack.
Counting from the bottom of the jack the first pin is microphone+ second GND - third right earpiece+ fourth left earpiece+.
If you connect an electret mic between the first and second pin with the right polarity, you can use it to record sound.
It should be possible to connect other signal sources, but be careful. I do not know what is the maximal input voltage.
The phone will recognize any 4pin jack as a handsfree you will see the icon on the notification bar. Sadly if you play any sound on the phone it will be sent to the "headphones".

[Q] Broken Headphone Jack

Hi,
I mistakenly plugged a powered cable into my headphone jack. I was in my car, it was dark; I meant to grab the audio cable so that could connect my phone to the car stereo. Instead, I grabbed the power cord to a backup display and inserted it into my HD2. The phone is fine, but I now get very little sound out of the headphone jack. I was wondering if there is a fuse on the jack that guards against power input and if so, can this fuse be replaced? Does anyone know if this is possible? If not, I guess I will need to get a Bluetooth headset in order to listen to music and movies again.
Thanks for your help,
Paul

Unexpected hands-free behavior

Hey guys,
I just picked up the Sprint S3 and I am having problems using bluetooth hands-free in my car. The default use for the phone is feeding sound to my stereo via an AUX cable from the headphone jack. All my other phones--ever, would switch to BT hands-free, but the S3 is staying in headset mode and playing audio over the 3.5mm jack. That is worthless, and I can't imagine why anyone would ever want this.
Is there an app, or configuration item somewhere that I am missing that can resolve this issue? I would definitely like to avoid yanking the 3.5mm cable every time a call comes in or I need to make one. It's dangerous, especially with how snugthe cable is. You have to use both hands.
Thanks!

Sounds like a bug. I wonder if i9300 users have this? I'd report it to Samsung, so they can fix it in firmware.
No one else I know uses the AUX cable at the same time as BT hands-free. I clearly have my BT set up to handle calls in Samsung's menu.
Interesting... Samsung's email support system doesn't have the Sprint SGS2 or the SGS3 in it. I had to start a live chat, and I feel like I'm getting nowhere.
