seems we got the wrong phone, nobody has done any development for this one. *sigh*
XDA is US-UK focused, and LG Optimus is JUST becoming available in UK, and hopefully will one day come to US...I am currently working on writing a guide for the MFG app for those who want to learn how to make use of it (and are afraid to experiment with it).
Any progress on other phones can be easily transferred over to the LG phones eventually, so I wouldn't worry.
PS: In fact, Optimus 7's Dev forum has more posts than most other WP7 Dev forums in XDA...we shall live ... AGAIN! And honestly, we all know THIS is the best WP7 phone...

I saw this when it came out for LG. works great. sometimes have issues with pure black not showing the preview square properly, but it works perfect when you use it. tho black tends to get hidden in some menus or soft buttons

Translated from Polish Android Website - edit cleaned up
Just as the topic is clear, has always been neglected by the owners of Hero HTC finally get an update. Why so late? Because it will not be updated for the Android 2.0 but straight to 2.1. Between 15 and 17 February, the update will be available for HTC niebrandowanego Hero - this update will include all of Europe. The problem, however, users can have the Era G2, a Hero brandowanego by Era, is unknown because the last update for them. We only know that for sure be delayed.
Information is sourced directly from HTC Poland, and therefore should be checked. In addition, we learned again that the HTC Magic no longer receive updates - Orange and HTC have not come to an agreement in Poland, in this case. And it was from Orange Magic update depends on Polish territory.
Which will update to the Android 2.1? Quote from Android Forums:
"-Android 2.1 is much faster.
-One interesting option is a preview of desktops. I do not know how to describe. You have the main screen. It uses the 2 finger zoom out as pages in your browser. Effect. Mixing up rozjeżdżają and have a brilliant idea.
-Icons are transparent envelope.
-At the bottom of the menu we have: phone, menu, contacts
-They added a nice transition when you quit the application and move around the options.
-Lock screen is not rounded.
Faster-running HTC keyboard.
-Added new widgets are HTC.
-Improved flashplayer. Operates smoothly.
-The modified program was gallery and media player. (Cosmetic procedures)
-And the rest of the news, which introduces a new android. (Market etc.)
-It shall be more RAM. about 130-140mb after killing the process. "
In addition, the same user advises:
"I also have one warning. Those who have changed SPL Hero may have problems with updating. The best return for this, which you had in the standard."
In addition, we learn also that the HTC Tattoo no longer receive updates (due to the weak performance of the device). But it is interesting that the HTC G1 and Android Tattoo 2.1 works quite accurately. Also, let's keep our fingers crossed tightly for magicians from XDA forums and our Android forum who will conjure up for us a drive.
This needs cleaning up NOW. I know you have stated that's its a translation but it just makes you dizzy with the repeated words.
Also without a link to the original article, a lot of people wont believe this.

Hello
I hope someone can suggest me which other HTC model do have almost the same specification as HD2 aspecially the screen resulation. Why do i need this? This is due to Im trying to download latest Pocket Islam 9.0 I need to choose my model but too bad there is no HD2 model there. Hope other model which is almost same can been used and function well.
Thanks for you time.
Moved to General Thread.
Mark.
man there arent any phone with HD2's specs out there the closest one is the nexus one or desire i guess.but any way any device with a WVGA resolution (480*800) should be fine.
Nexus One is the best alternative if you dont want to have WinMob.
I was torn between both devices and my decision fell on the HD2 as i like the customization in WinMo.
Anybody that says Android or Apple OS got the most apps is wrong. There are sooo many apps for WinMob devices - they just dont look that good in most cases because the programmers have to take care that a bright range of devices is supported.
But there are also apps for WinMob that shows nice gfx like SPB Quads.
I still will have an eye on the Nexus One as i like the voice command thing.
If u want to have more colors than 65k you should have a look at the motorola milestone. That device got 16 million (!!!) coors and the screen looks very impressing to me.
My advice to you is to check these threee phones and take the one that suits your needs best.
well looks like there is no interest in the droid pro!
Why don't you play with the 5+ shell replacements available on the market?
The phone hasn't got much love as it's still not popular and focuses on its CDMA priority though its a Global phone (i.e. works even on GSM networks) it will take a while for it to catch on.
basically all i really want is a black notification bar. i have the black glass theme on my droid 2 and love how it looks.

You need to deoxed your firmware first. The instructions are in the Development subforum.
Then you need to visit the Android Development forum here and browse through themes and ask the developers whether you can install it on your phone. This would be a good start for themeing.
I'm not a fan of themes though - it's a good start for you themeing fans.
I have had 5 replacement OMNIA 7's now and quite frankly I have given up with it!
Orange said that they would give a completely different device but I would have to wait a week for them to decide which ones they could offer me. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what sort of alternate device they would offer me, apparently it can be up to three different ones.
Thanks for any responses
What was wrong with your Omnias? Sounds weird since I haven't got any problems with my Omnia7
test the lastest rom if you have your omnia yet.
All of my OMNIA's have had the same defective screen problem. Basically the screen brightness is reduced to that of low even though it is on high, and the colors on the screen all appear to have been reduced almost like a whitewash.
I am yet to try an alternate ROM but I'm not sure if thats the issue here
Are you sure thats Omnia 7, cause the screen is its best feature, besides if you really want to change it then go blindfolded and pick up HTC Mozart7.
Sadly yes it's definitely the OMNIA 7! I don't particularly want another device I just want an OMNIA that actually works for longer than a week. Due to the fact that I'm tied into my contract with Orange there is only one other WP7 device the HTC Mozart obviously. But does anyone have any idea what other devices Orange might offer me?
Thank You for the replies

Orange seems to have Mozart, LG Optimus 7 and OMNIA7, this info is according to microsoft. Here follow the link: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsphone/en-gb/buy/7/phones.aspx
Strange... A few years ago I had no end of troubles with K850i's and after around 5 replacements they just offered me an alternative right away... I didn't have to wait.
I'd guess you will be offered the Mozart / Optimus 7 and probably something like the HTC Desire or an Android phone of equivalent value.
Orange have some deal with the Mozart so will want to push that if at all possible.
I forgot about the LG!
Either way I'm hopeing they offer me something worth while after all I did choose the OMNIA for its screen. Although it is Android I might enquire about the Motorola ATRIX
If you are interested in getting an android then I recommend that you ask Orange to give you XPERIA NEO. http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_xperia_neo-3734.php
Thank You I will check it out
5 devices?
You must be drop kicking them ... Seriously not being mean but if some one came into my shop after their fifth broken device id tell them to turn around.
Its not possible to have 5 defective screens in a row...
Hi everyone
I’m new to this forum and forums in general so I hope I’m in the right place for my question.
I can upgrade my Galaxy S 3 in December and I was looking at the HTC One but my carrier keeps trying to talk me out of it and is trying to sell me on the Galaxy S 4 or the LG G2.
What I would like to know is witch phone you would choose and why and not just because of specs but also just personal reasons why you would pick the one over the other.
Thank you.
Go with the HTC One
I have tried Samsung and LG and I prefer HTC sense to all the other interfaces. HTC corporate is the only manufacturer I know of that provides support for unlocking the bootloader, etc. to promote open development.... like what takes place here. I was very pleased with my Evo3d, and HTC blew me away with the One, which I currently own. I have experienced issues with all other brands. Also, the custom rom selection is unbelievable. I am running ViperOne 3.1 and it is by far the best I have ever seen or used. Hope this helped.
Hi
I'm happy with HTC since as said bl unlocking is officially supported.
I don't like Samsung coz of preinstalled apps I didn't need. The other thing is their whole marketing strategy which I can't stand.
No experience with LG phones, but their DVD writer rocks @ almost cheapest price
Sent from my HTC One V using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
hello
I prefer the HTC is a very good phone

Thank you very much you just made me make up my mind especially because of the boot loader and open development since that is exactly what I am wanting to start playing with.
Happy to help

Happy to help! One thing I didn't mention is I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the camera on the HTC One.....the new technology is astounding and the most important aspect of all the additional light (200x's more) allowed into the pixels is the shutter speed is almost instant, and low light shots are clear. You wont miss a shot an you can probably print 8 x 10 photos just fine. If you are rooting, check out the Viper Roms. I have tried a lot and found theirs are very stable and carry the most customizations.
