I've been watching the preview video @ AndroidCentral I think they have covered the phone quite well.
There Neocore test show a score of 75 FPS - that 20 FPS more than the Samsung SGS/Vibrant.
Since the Samsung SGS/Vibrant comes with a PowerVR SGX 540 chipset (Device Magazine) which is the best out there along with 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor - whereas the Droid Pro comes with a PowerVR SGX 530 chipset (Motorola Developer site) how comes this baby is giving out a much better FPS rate?
Would like to hear your experienced views on this!
If you compare it the D2/D2G, DX, and Milestone 2 you will notice that the DP performance is better that those devices despite the same cpu/gpu combo(but less internal memory). So, from what I am reading most of it has to do with the lower HVGA screen vs the VGA screen of all aforementioned devices. Lower screen res means less work for the gpu.

This makes so much sense for improving battery life and plus what's the point on using such high res screens whereas the human eye can perceive only 200dpi.
Just a thought!
Personally I agree. It really makes me mad that I saw all these rave reviews on the Samsung Galaxy S phone's screens, but me personally I can't tell a difference between my Fascinate and my DPro, other than the fact the screen is smaller.
Maybe its time for me to see the eye doctor.

Is it scorpion or snapdragon? How is it compare to hummingbird processor?
Sent from my SE_X10i using Tapatalk
Snapdragon is the SOC, and Scorpion is the name of the CPU core. It's arm based like the hummingbird, and as far as I know, the performance is very similar (some +&- between the two)
Both are same, except the GPU part, Snapdragon MSM8255 which uses Adreno 205 GPU ( Adreno is a rebranded AMD Z430 originally developed by ATi as Imageon then AMD sold it to Qualcomm )... Hummingbird in the other hand uses the PowerVR SGX 540 GPU from Imagination Technologies...
from performance POV, PowerVR SGX 540 is a little bit faster than Adreno 205 ( over all performance, in some benchmarks the SGX 540 is notable faster like in GLBenchmark 2.0 ), but the CPU part of the hummingbird limit it's power, the same GPU when used in a dual core SOC like OMAP 4430 ( used in LG Optimus 3D ) performs better... just to note, Samsung used another SOC in Galaxy S2 that SOC uses a different GPU named Mali-400MP which is slower than SGX 540... but being a dual-core helps the Mali-400MP to be faster than SGX 540...
Hello,
I've made a chart that can help you compare different CPU architectures and speeds vs. performance:

Hi all.
I must say I am from android more than ios, and I tell you the truth, from the adreno 200 nexus one of google I've gone through all the adreno and snapdragon processor, now I have my new HTC one M9 which has a snapdragon 810 and graph adreno 430.
Well, my question is whether the adreno 430 gpu snapdragon 810 really is comparable or exceeds the raw power of the play station 3 to 8 years, and have been looking for information about floating point calculations, gigaflops the calls, the adreno 430 mp6 at 600 mhz 2 on the lg flex 2 gives 388 gigaflops while the play station 3 gives about 240 gigaflops ... so in theory is already outdated, but we know not all the gigaflops hehe.
Someone who knows more than I could give me a orientacion¿? It is already the adreno 430 comparable to the top consoles seven years ago as the play station 3 or xbox 360¿? is that even higher in android is difficult to see games as well as the graphical detail of the consoles, maybe in 2 years...
greetings and hope to answer
sorry for my english, i am spainsh
it is comparable to PS3
gaming on the M9 makes one of the best gaming phones right now, ignoring all the futile and propaganda cries about the extra 5c
its sad that the propaganda got to the M9 and nearly no one except few reliable outlets like euorgamer and techspot acknowledge the M9 ferocious gaming power
a lot of data for you in my M9 collective thread
HTC One M9 - GameBench Series -Godfire (1.32.401.17)
HTC One M9 - GameBench Series - Mortal Kombat X (1.32.401.17)
HTC One M9 - GameBench Series - Asphalt 8 (1.32.401.17)
Feedback on the M9 gaming experience and thermals plus recommendations
Godfire is the most console like game i have ever played on Android, check the exclusive Adreno 420/430 features here

Games run very smoothly on the HTC One M9, a consequence of improving the processor while keeping the screen resolution the same as last year. The Boomsound speakers bring audio to life too, making this feel - at times - like a genuine console experience.

There's an Adreno 430 graphics processor thrown into the mix also, and 3GB of RAM rounding off the picture. The numbers speak for themselves in our benchmarks, and expectedly its 3D performance in games stands up comfortably against this year's other flagship releases.
The M9 is blessed with a fearsome arsenal of tech, but it has attracted some negative attention for generating excessive amounts of heat. It's true that when engaged in a particularly taxing activity the phone's casing becomes noticeably warm, but no more so than many of its cutting-edge rivals, and we suspect the reason it's more immediately obvious here is because the aluminium casing is channelling the heat more effectively. During our review we felt we pushed HTC's device to the limit, and it never got uncomfortably hot - something which was claimed in many early hands-on previews by other sites.

Thanks friend[emoji2] , im gonna read your link
My relatives lent me their nvidia shield and I got to say. Despite the Shield having lower scores in benchmarks in 3Dmark, antutu, geekbench 3, and slower day to day use compare to my Exynos Note 4. I was surprised that I get better performance with the shield than with my note 4 on PPSSPP (psp emulator). Games that were unplayable, I was able to play at full speed or close to full speed now.
Whats the "secret" to the Shield's gaming performance? Is it less thermal throttling due to the heatsink? or is it due to it's powerful gpu?
No CPU throttling, 720p screen can be the case
