hi i installed nand rom android froyo but no games watsoever work they all close is this due to it bieng android on windows mobile phone?
No, this isn't due to it being Android on a Windows Mobile phone. I have Angry Birds running on my phone. Do you have any other information we can use?
yes angry birds is one game that has worked but iv installed quite a few like fruit ninja iv jus come from desire hd which i thought the battery was awful the battery better on this but at the moment iv swtiched bk to winmo..
i tried nfs, asphalt, fruit ninja, bubble blast and real football all force clos
EDIT; Its a NAnd Rom.....fro some reason when i try installin one on sd card it wipes my sd card clean but only files in folders are deleted and not files on root of sd strange prob
by the thank you for the speedy reply
Do you use A2SD? Cause some apps dont work on SD cards.
Angry Birds is one game that needs to be on the phone to work. ShootMe is an app that has to be on the phone to work also. Because Angry Birds are such large files, they install to the card. Go into apps manager in settings to move them to the phone.

Hi
Yesterday I have reset my DHD to factory settings (menu->settings->SD card->personal data->reset to factory settings).
Before that I have made a full copy of my sd card as well as I've copied the file "pkg.apk" from "Mnt/asec/com.rovio.angrybirds-2/"
The Angry Birds were already copied to sd card.
I've installed them again but I can't get back to my saved progress in that game. Where is it stored? Can I get it back anyhow?
P.S. My wife was already on the 12th level or sth. She will kill me once she finds out that I've messed it up, so your help will be highly appreciated
Unless l'm mistaken, I think you've lost your data. Its stored on the phone in the folder data.
To get at it, I used VISIONary+ to temproot the phone, then Titanium backup to backup the data to the sd card. Once reset, and Angry Birds installed, play a level. Then run Visionary+ again, and restore backup from sd card.
Sorry!

You Sir, are correct. If you look in the market you can download a "Cheat" app to enable all the levels.
i"m still alive
OK. Thanks for your replies.
Luckily I've managed to get over the anger of my wife - she started playing again
The new festive Angry Birds is also free on the market. Keeps my wife quiet for a while!

Well...
have a look in the market, angry birds seasons is out: it gives special themed levels, for halloween and for Christmas. The Christmas one is like a calendar: you can only play one level a day
That should make her even more happy
i have tried and failed to start after the game intro..
- Dungeon Hunter2
- Hawx
- Modern Combat 2
Model: EU HD2
Rom: imilka's Ram Desire HD v2.0(a2sd 1gb)
and Hyper Droid CM7(1gb Ext4)
isit a rom problem??
anyone here have problem with the game???
i am considering buy from gameloft ..but i wonder it is worked for my phone .
Asphalt 6 won"t start for me.Just goes to home screen after Intro video.
really??i just downloading..
i will test !!
All my Gameloft games work on Sergio Corefroid 1.6, you could try fixing permissions then rebooting.
Gameloft games are good but vastly overpriced therefore i downloaded them for free
I noticed gameloft games wont start with Hyperdroid GBX v12 ...
are the games located on the phone or sd card?
...must be located on phone to work.
Or you switch to typhoons rom, there was a fix some time ago, that allows running apps from sd which crashed before...don't know if the fix are also in other roms
using boyppc's gingerbread rom, all my gameloft games work fine (1.6gb worth in total) all running off the memory card. asphalt 6 works fine, some people have complained about splinter cell which also works fine on the rom

The games are installed onto the sd-ext partition but additional softwares required for the games have been automatically downloaded under /sdcard/gameloft/games/...
Should I move this folder somewhere else ???
i can't run some games either
they are just forced to close after the game intro
i used sd-android
how can i fix it?
and any sd-android version recommended?
Using UD 3.3 I Let's Golf 2 gets all glitchy once past intro and UNO goes black and won't even get to intro. I haven't been able to redownload any of the games that I had before to see if new APK files would help because my phone is recognized as a HTC Leo / HD2 on their site. Anybody have any thoughts on how to bypass this? I wish they would use a damn marketplace for their games!
Guys i love my xperia play, but the 200mb of internal storage really isnt enough for me, seen as though most of us are rooted and have busybox installed, is it not possible to get an apps2sd+ script working on our devices? or will we have to wait for custom roms that have init.d support?? anyone have any ideas

Couldnt you just go in settings then application and move any apps to the sd card?
The PLAY has built in apps2sd
Only 30% of the apps can be moved to the sd card, using androids move to sd function, apps2sd+ moves the whole /data/app/ directory and the DC. Take asphalt 6 and lets golf 2 for example both thoes games are 40mb and cannot be moved, thats half my internal storage gone with 2 games lol copilot is 30mb adobe air is 20mb ..... all of these would take a few mbs each with apps2sd+

You can use the Android SDK to enable SetInstallLocation2, then everything will natively install to your SD

What is the best way to force apps to Sd on 2.3.3 rooted play? I've tried to find an app or process that's easy to do ad hoc but not found any easy way yet
I use apps2SD. Titanium Backup does the job but somehow my SD card got corrupted after rebooting my phone. I had to format and start over.

Where can I get apps2sd - or rather who is it by if its on the market. I've had a search on the market and theres a few with similar names in there, but none that look like one the forces apps to the sd card, only ones that alert you when apps can be moved to sd.
If its not on the market, can you link to it at all please?

Try link2sd, it works diffrently to other app2sd apps, you will need to make an ext partition on your sd card though
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.buak.Link2SD&hl=en
I'm using app2sd, and it works great for most apps, however there are many apps that the program just wont allow you to move. I'm on an R800x via Verizon. Like I said I cant move the bloatware and some other apps but I'd say 50% of the apps I DL will move to my SD... I've only got about 100mb so I'm hoping a root or an alternative way to remove bloatware surfaces soon.

Ashphalt can be moved to the sd card using Titanium backup (free) not sure about lets golf but any gameloft game i have intsalled can be moved to sd by Titanium and they still work fine for me. (Ashphalt is now like 500kb not 30mb)
If you have Titanium backup (paid version) you can try converting the app to a user app and then move it to the sd and see if there are any problems with the app. I dont have the paid version but i have seen people have moved the pre-installed games onto the sd card with this method.
I know this is probably not the answer you are seeking but it will gain you some more mb's

Fire up adb and use the pm setInstallLocation 2 command, nearly every app can be moved to the sd card then, including all the gameloft games
Yes i know. But its pain when widgets e.t.c are installed to the sd so i dont use setInstallLocation 2 anymore too lazy to move them lol . I was just merely replying to the Ashphalt cannot be moved post

I use the apps2sd pro app, it lets you move apps to and from /data/ with just a long press, you can even set an ignore list
I just got my Xperia Play today and I'm a little puzzled about some of these games. I see that my Nova 2 cannot be moved onto my SD card (or atleast that button is dimmed under "manage apps"), but it requires an almost 400 Mb download to play. If there is only 400 Mb of memory on the phone, how is this possible? And if most Play games require additional downloads but can't be moved onto my SD, does that mean you will only have a few games at a time? Sorry if it was posted elsewhere, I did try to look around but couldn't find them
Use adb to set the install location to sd then everything can go to sd card, but as it is now just the app will be installed on the phone memory then the additional download will be put on the sd card

O I don't have adb yet... do I need to root my phone to use that? I recall it appeared when I put CM7 on my last phone. Thanks for clarifying that, all the games said they would download more stuff, didn't state where it would DL to, so I assumed it would go with the game

You do not need to move anything to download and store alot of games on your Xperia Play.
That would be stupid.
You download the apk, which gets stored on the phone. Its only a few mb. Then you download the game data which gets stored on your sd card.
The above users should of mentioned this before they sent you down a path of using commands to manually move things to the sd card.
I have about 9 large games on my phone at the moment and have around 155mb of free phone memory unused.
Also, the easiest way to move everything to the sd card is with titanium backup. Once you have rooted your phone, select batch move and it will automatically move everything you select to the sd card in one go.
Just as a tip, do not move wallpapers or clocks to your sd card. Your wallpaper and clock settings will get forgotten every time you plug your phone into your PC. (this is because your phone disconnects itself from the sd card so your pc can access it).
I think the biggest one ive seen so far is asphalt which takes up 30mb on the phones internal memory (after downloading the 400+mb to your sd).
But as dsswoosh has said if you root your phone you can use the free version of titanium backup to moves the games to the sd card. Now asphalt takes up less than 500kb rather than 30mb. Same with the other games once moved to the sd.
Games that are unable to be moved to the sd card normally such as nova and ashphalt can be moved once rooted.
Thank you all so much! Very useful, I think I was mainly just confused about where the game data was being downloaded to. With widgets and such having to stay on phone, plus the bloatware and programs that are phone only, 30 meg games still seemed pretty big so I was kind of worrying about space still, but after this thread I'm def going to root my phone. Thanks again!
I've got 21 games installed and a bunch of other apps and still got 240 mb of internal storage!

Bloatware you can easily remove when rooted. and if you force all the installs to sd throug adb, you can keep up to 300MB internal storge
I have 303 free atm.
Only modern combat you should keep on the phone i think, i had it on sd for a week or 2 and suddenly it stopped working and no possible way to get it to work again only after factory reset.
Hi all, after doing a lot of research last week I purchased a mojo (bit late) yay!
The threads on here have been great so thank you.
I got my mojo for mainly emulators, all my emulators are working great, also through kodi rom collection browser, all games scraped after a few hours of messing about so really happy.
My mojo is rooted with the mmm just so you know.
RIGHT THE ANNOYING BIT...
I've got fpse as this is what I wanted to use for my ps1 roms, also have epsxe because I thought it was a emulator problem. Both purchased on Google play.
So when starting fpse it only finds crash 1 and crash team racing but no other games. They also work.
I have about 25 games on my sd card. They have all been downloaded and 7zipped so they are all bin and cue files, some have tracks some don't. I also have a few which have the ecm, I've tried them without the unecm and with. I don't understand why just 2 games are showing and working. One last thing I tried running bios think its spch1001 but it just says loading on fpse when I run it on epsxe it runs like a game and nothing happens. Do the games show up without a bios? Just don't understand why only 2 show up and run.
I know this has been long winded but wanted to give all the info I could.
Really appreciate anyone that can help
I used to use Fpse and always unzipped my games. So there are only the cue or bin files in the folder (s). Give that a try and let us know if it works out for you.

OK thanks so do you mean delete any other files, because I've been doing what you said.
I download rom it's usually a 7z sometimes a rar. And extract files, then copy them to sd card
Right figured it out, it's so stupid. All this extracting files converting ecms didn't work. All I had to do was copy 7z games over to sd card then fpse unzipped them for me and played. Now all games working. Thank you for helping lucky it was a simple fix this time. Wasted at least 8 hours on this. But I'm happy now it's working :victory:
Extra note
Also even after fixing this I had trouble copy the files over to my sd card. After alot of wasted time checked the serial on the card and it was a fake. Now have bought a real 32gb fast sd card from a shop all works fine
