[Q] Flash light problem - XPERIA X2 General

Hi there!
First of all i would like to thank you about all usefull information that i found in this forum!
then i would like to ask about a problem with the flash light and the camera flash light...
sometimes i cannot turn on the light... also from the flashlight application that i have it from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=697817
neither i use the camera app to make photoes...
sometimes after few minutes it starts working...
do you have any idea how to fix this bug?

You may try hard-reset your device. If the problem persists, then its hardware issue, and you should go to service.
Generally, flash led is not intended to be used as a torch.

thank you for your replay! it looks like a software problem, but the hard reset is problem for me! it takes me 2 days to tweak the windows mobile to start working as a normal no-crashing phone... so if i have to reinstall windows again is better to buy a new phone
if anyone have another idea is more than welcome!
thank you for your support!

So, you can backup your phone first. This will save your progress on device tuning after hard-reset.

i did the reinstalling windows from the sony ericsson updater and the first thing that i did when the reinstall finished is to start the photo camera and make picture with the flash light... and there was no flash light. i believe it's not technical issue because it's absolutley brand new phone without drops or crashes. and it starts working by itself few minutes latter. or after few soft restarts.

Blah... it was a hardware issue! Thanks for your support!

[Q] Problems with my Hot Fix to enhance virtual viewfinder

i installed this so called hot fix from HTC site and guess what?
THE RESULT IS A HUGE PROBLEM - THE CAMERA DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE!
when i try to launch the camera application i receive this message: "Camera is not a valid Pocket PC application"
can anyone confirm that or i am the only one who get tricked (again) by HTC's brilliant software designers?
i installed the slider fix and i had the well known dialer bug. now i installed this and i ended with a not working camera, despide the fact that this fix should enhance the functionality of the device
why didn't i buy the omnia? the guys from samsung released FIRMWARE UPDATES every few weeks, updates that realy improve the Omnia (i.e. the battery life is now around 5 days comparing to 1 day in first firmware release).
the specialist from HTC manage only to launch "fixes" of few Kb that can only destroy your phone.
if there is anybody who can fix again tha HTC's fix i would be greatfully asa long as i don't want to hard reset my device
thanks a lot!
Works ok for me. What ROM are you using?
realy?
ROM 1.14.479.3 (25874) WWE
RADIO 1.09.24.14
PROTOCOL 52.49a.25.26U
the fix works for me too, rom 1.13 ITA
just what exactly is this supposed to fix exactly??
you can find out here
http://www.htc.com/uk/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=179&act=sd&cat=all
no problem on my HD too.
oooops!!!
it seems that i am the only one with this problem
any ideeas?
thank you in advance!
You probably don't want to know that mine still works also (ROM 1.14.405.3 (22273) WWE.
I expect by now, you will have downloaded the hotfix again and tried to reinstall.

unistall the fix.. or hard reset? :/
i am more and more convinced that i am the only one with this problem
uninstaling doesn't fix
hard reset - am i trying to avoid that as long as i can
still no other ideeas?
My device become kind of slow after installing it. The first time i started the camera it took a while to initialise and the menu button was missing.
Will test further and report back.
Try finding the hotfix via registry and deleting it from there.
maybe has nothing to do with this hotfix, but my weather is now completely blank: no cities, no forecast, nothing: only the wallpaper. And strange softkeys: "5-days" (left) and "menu" (right). And pressing them does nothing
Also installed on mine and no problems at all.

when i first load the camera i get no options arrow, have to backspace then open again. Rom 1.19, I'm going to try downloading from the HK website, see if its a different version...
installed the version from the hong kong site even tho it appeared to be the same version. options tab now appears but after about 3 seconds. I'm wondering if that was always the case but i didn't notice?
Hi,
I have installed, not problem so far. However, could any one post any sample photo taken before and after the hotfix installed? I didn't see any difference. Thank you
mine after hotfix install, appeared 2 white pixels in camera.(i didnt have them before)
There would be no change in picture quality...
from HTC website:
When you use the Camera function to take a picture in a dim environment with super fine quality, sometimes the image will display extraneous (noise) pixels in the viewfinder mode. It’s not a mechanical (LCD) fault but only an intermittent display problem in view finder mode. It does not have any impact on the picture quality or other display functions. If you encounter this problem, please download this hot fix to enhance the virtual viewfinder mode.
unfortunately nothig i tryed solved the problem and i had to hard reset the device
i reinstalled the fix before any other programs and it seems to work
i belive the fix somehow conflicted with an existing application but i could not manage to find ou wich of them
now i am working hard to resinstall everything. i hope that will not crash again when i will be at 90% (knock on wood)

Camera not working

I have done many searches on this topic all over the Blackstone forum and have not found any solution to my problem. I have found a few people that have an error about the camera not initializing or something but that is not my problem.
Soon after I upgraded to WM 6.5 I noticed that my camera would sometimes quit and I would have to soft reset the device to get it working again. This happened more and more often. It got to the point where the camera would not even try to start.
I have tried several different roms and nothing is helping. Since updating to different roms the camera button in the camera tab in TF3D doesn't even show up. All I get is the album. It acts like the camera isn't even there. It does show up in the program menu. If I activate the camera under the programs menu I get nothing or just get taken back to the home page and nothing happens. Depends on the rom.
I found a few threads where people seem to have the same problem I do but usually after three or four posts and no results they just seem to end.
I have also tried installing some of the other camera cab programs. Topaz, Rhodium, Blackstone etc...
Any help would be appreciated.
One last thing. I also switched back to WM 6.1 and still nothing. The only thing I have yet to try is either redo the HSPL or go back to the original stock SPL
---Update---
After three rom updates and many, many, many searches, I found the solution. Using the advanced config tool cab and changing one of the camera settings Encode photos in portrait mode to no the camera has come back to life. I did the soft reset and hit the camera button and nothing happened but a little screen flash and the window's working icon in the middle started then stopped. That has not happened in a while. I hit the button again and it delayed and started and then quit. I tried it one more time and it came on and was able to take a picture. Reminds me of trying to start a cold engine. Prime it then try to turn it over, prime it a little more then maybe some coughing and finally on the third prime. Presto it starts. Very happy again.
i am having the same problem
can you help me plz
what is advanced config tool cab you used
pardon me my english not that good but what are the steps you did in simple language plz
my phone has WM6.1 and standard rom 1.14.415.2 build 32434 wwe
thanks in advanced

I did the not save in portrait mode thing and it worked for me. Thanks. I've spent many hours on this. Great!
It didnt work!
I tried just as you said with the "advance config tool" abd the problem persist.
Any idea?
I think it is hardware probelm. Initially it works with some software tinkering (actual steps vary with different devices, infact may be be coincidental / immaterial in help) and becomes harder and harder as time passes and ulimately fails even on stock ROM/SPL.
Hi all. I've got the same problem. Nothing helps. Maybe i need just to overwrite drivers, instead of installing camera soft?? May anyone send me camera dll files?

camera flash issue

Hello to everybody.
I have rom 1.48 and some programs installed (BsB and net 3.5 above all plus some games). I installed also the hotfix for the camera but now my xenon flash seems to be dead. When I turn on the camera, the flash butto remains always off even if I try pressing the flash button. I don't think it's a hardware problem but software or maybe registry because if I use TorchButton program, the leds are working properly (bright, SOS and so on).
I there anybody able to help me?
I thank you in advance and thanks to ALL the mebers of XDA.
All the best.
Is your battery low? I know the flash gets turned-off when the battery is low.
it was above 10% (the first warning level). but after your advice I will try again when is above 50% at least and I will post here...

I think the flash stops working @ 30% battery level.
phew...!!!
ok guys, everything is gonna be alright....
I waited patiently and checked every 1% step up on the battery level...
Below 20% the flash is automatically turned off...
thanks to all for the quick replies..
bye
so not a problem or issue but speaking of camera flash, does anyone know if theres a program to use it as a flashlight only? i mean, i could always open up the camera program and turn it on from there...
search in the forum for TorchButton program... it works perfectly
Does it ? It does not work on mine ..
Oh .. there is a new version, which works !

RESOLVED : Problem with autofocus in standby mode

Hi,
For two days, I have the autofocus of the camera that works all the time in standby mode only This is "click" at regular intervals
Including when I reboot, I hear just before you see the first screen of boot ...
By cons, as soon as I leave the standby mode before, no problem except that the camera is no longer the point, the autofocus does not work ...
And really weird is that this "click" I think varies according to the occupation of the CPU because if I leave an application running and I goes to sleep, I do not hear it!
I made a task29, wipe all over the place, install new rom, and also an original rom ... Even removing the phone to see if something was not disconnected but I have not found.
Do you have an idea how to cope ?
Or maybe a way to reset the memory lowest level because I think it is software, not hardware (well I think).
Thank you to those who can give me help.
Regards.
good post
good post
lol
Always the same problem with a fresh install of sense 3 with last kernel of Rafpigna...
no one has ever had this problem of noise camera in standby mode or to boot the phone?
Is it possible that this is a hardware problem?
What is really strange is that as soon as I get out of standby mode, the noise stops! And when I want to take a picture, the autofocus does not work ...
Task29 can't help me... Always the same issue... I tried WM7 I know it's sad but it does not change (I did not expect less).
No one can help me ??
...saw a post of a xda member with the same issue on the typhoon some months ago.
He made a video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46hRUY89A0E
..do youve got the same issue?
will it also autofocus all time when you dont got a rom installed?
Hi j4n87,
This is exactly the same problem, I can see the lens moving like that...
this is just since a week. it worked fine before !
This is after installing a version MIUI (when I had already installed several versions before without problems).
I try everything but I can not recover the normal operation of the camera.
Can you help me more ??
Thank you.
Regards.

I found that if I put in airplane mode, so no use of radio, there is no noise of the autofocus ...
I will try to degraded version of the radio to see if it changes something.
Alas no, it does not change, still the noise of the camera.
RESOLVED...
yay it works thanks to Dimension2035 (thank you very much for his invaluable help).
This is what to do:
- To MAGLDR
- Download the version of tytung
- Make the phone operational by using a little (there is always noise)
- Remove the battery overnight: miracle, everything works.
I'm really happy.
Here is the solution.
Regards and again thanks to Dimension2035

[Q] Query for acer900 re Jazzman's Rom 1.3

Acer900
Don't know if you're still even active in these forums but just wanted to say a huge thank-you for your ROM and as I can't add a message in the developers forums yet, I wanted to add my thanks here!
It is the only custom rom I can currently DL for the S200 but it's absolutely amazing and its like being given a whole new phone to play with. Huge respect for you and your work and I hope you might not be entirely ready to give up on the phone just yet...
I do have one problem however. I flashed your rom from a "virgin" 3.003c firmware and enabled EZinput for full landscape mode. So far so good. everything worked until I went in to the camera - half screen viewfinder displayed, no icons at screen edge and (after 30-40 seconds) the display locked and no hard or soft keys were able to get me out of camera mode. I couldn't even get it to power off, I had to pull the battery and restart. I read in the developers forum that the camera is a source of problems and at one point brainmaster had posted a cab file to reinstall the acer default camera so I installed it and restarted the phone but when I went into the camera again, the exact same thing happened.
Other posts seem to suggest it may be an HTC keyboard/camera conflict but presumably many folk on custom roms got that camera to work to some degree.
Any suggestions you can offer? I don't need it to work perfectly. I don't take that many photos on the phone but I do use it occassionally and I can't use this as a daily rom if locks up every time I accidentally start the camera.
Thanks again. Really appreciate all of the hard work you've put in and this rom does really make an old device sing very sweetly once again.....

First,
I'm glad that the rom is working for you, Thanks!
second,
I'm no longer actively building after my PC's Hd mysteriously crashed and I lost everything before that I was in the process of upgrading the rom to v.1.3.5
and trying to find a solution to the problem you're experiencing now.
It has nothing to do with the keyboard/camera relationship.
The Full Rotating phone canvas I used was developed for HD2 leo, not acerS200
meaning, it uses components native to the HD2 leo in this case, it's camera, video, full screen viewer etc... our problem w/S200 is that the camera, video, picture viewer etc.. being acer components, not HTC Leo's,
function using their own specs, dimensions, and most importantly, it's own resolutions and rotation based on those size resolutions.
I was experimenting with the phone canvas to see if there was a way to separate our acer camera, vid., but lost my HD... as a matter of fact,
I'm using a V.1.3.5 beta in my phone now that has parts of different phone canvas versions i.e. Raphael,Laurentius, Parts of caller ID fixes from laurentius too. But my testing was cut short and I haven't the time or desire to start all over again, sorry
So to finally answer your question, You must " uncheck" "EZinput" under G sensor settings for the camera and video to function properly.
Maybe one day I'll replace my PC's HD and try to cook again but I'm thinking
that it may be easier to buy an "acer stream"('cause I like acer) and see what
that's like.
Thanks
Thanks for the reply.
I really appreciate all the effort that went in to making something as good as this but appreciate that sometimes with technology we all just need to "move on".
I'll look forward to seeing your name (and efforts) pop up elsewhere in the forums.
Cheers.
