[Q] HTC legend firmware android 2.2 for Xperia X8 - XPERIA X8 General

Hello
I have a question. Can we use or modify firmware from HTC Legend? It has the same resolution of the screen 320/480 and same processor Qualcomm MSM7227, 600 МГц. So we have same hardware for both phones the only difference is that legend screen size 3.2 and X8 is 3.0. Again the question is why Legend has multitouch plus flashplayer and we don't. I know guys you are smart and can do some solution.

The answer is that this mobile have htc and we have sony ericson.

they have different kernel system

Custom ROM based on x10 mini interface ?

Hi,
I had a HTC Magic, and i changed it for a x10 Mini.
Even if the Mini have only 128 Mo RAM, it is really more faster than my old Magic, particularly thanks to the interface of SE on the x10 Mini.
I wondered if some people worked on a custom ROM with x10 Mini interface (even if it is only 1.6) for the Magic, which could be really fast and useful !
I searched it but i found nothing.
I hope some people will be interested by this idea, for the performance, or just the challenge to do a custom ROM x10 Mini for the HTC Magic !
Thanks in advance,
Cyalintz.
i would be happy if some1 whould make a custom rom for x10 mini maybe with htc dialer and other goodies... i still have my magic with Capyslide rom on
why revert back to 1.6 when 2.2 is comming hard to us now?

Because x10 Mini is really faster than the Magic even if he has only 128 RAM, and the principal reason is his ROM.
So, an adaptation could be cool to see a fast Magic.

Because you don't need to wait for the homescreen to reload on 2.2?
Anywho, this is going to be a PITA, since the mini is QVGA, so the graphics are gonna need some *major* work. I think the only QVGA to HVGA port for android has been Tattoo to Dream, and it was useless.
i want it for tattoo

HD Mini VS Aria

According to this and this, AT&T sells the HTC HD Mini under the name of Aria, and it runs Android 2.1. I’m no developer, but doesn’t that help in installing android on an HD Mini that currently runs Windows Mobile?
I think that is a HTC Wildfire (that's its name in the UK anyway), which is an Andoid QVGA phone (as opposed to the HD Mini being a HVGA Windows Mobile phone).

No, it's not.
Check here:
http://mobile.engadget.com/2010/06/17/htc-aria-review/
The 2 devices are similar but not identical.
The problem is that the EPROM firmware is simply not interchangable between the 2 platforms.
This topic has been discussed at length elsewhere
Aria and Wildfire are two different models.
Aria being the direct clone of HD mini, with redesigned capacitive buttons to fit into the android format.
Wildfire is like a scaled down version of Desire. They have identical specs, except for the slower processor, and a very much downgraded screen resolution.

I am planning to buy the HTC Wildfire ...

Hello Every Body
I am planning to buy the HTC Wildfire but one told me that it dont have custom roms like the disire
is that true ?
and when I buy it what the thing that do I have to check them before buying it ?
and are all the Wildfires can be rooted or only some types ?
and what are they ?
does it have problems ?
and can i install games and app direclty from the pc or only from the market ?
what are the device colors are selling in the market now ?
and which one is better this or the aria ?

aria is for AT&T only and Wildfire is much better that HTC Aria
If you read through this forum (and some search) I am sure your questions have been answered in one way or other. For example you asked "Does it have problem?" of course it has problems in some ways, just read the forum, you'll understand what is meant.
I am new so please help me now and answer the the questions here

Why is that? On paper Aria seems to have better specs (at least when it comes to screen resolution)

Dude, why don't you just do some basic reading around instead if troubling other people for extremely basic information you could fins out yourself?

[Q] Hello Everyone
Dear All,
I am new to this section, however associated with this forum since 2008, I am using HTC Excalibur presently and shortly planning to shift to Wildfire, I am looking for your suggestions & advices whether should I go for this device or else.
Respect for All
Peace

I personally think this is a great device and it is brilliant value for money but there are 2 major flaws for me:
Speed:
I find it a bit laggy and it is not as nippy as, say, the desire. This is mainly because of it's slower, 528 MHz processor but it is not meant for speed and meant to be a budget phone.
Display:
The screen is very low res (QVGA to be precise). This low resolution means that not all apps are available on the Android Market and that sometimes text is a bit hard to read.
Despite those issues, if you want a good, budget android phone then go for the Wildfire.
Both of the above. If you can afford it, the desire is a better device but, for the price, the Wildfire is an excellent device.

One reason I bought the Wildfire over the Desire is its more compact size......will report my experience back shortly.....

The X10 Mini Pro has multitouch....
The X10 Mini DOES NOT have multitouch and according to solid facts posted on one of the threads on the development section, CAN NOT have multitouch
The same applies for the X8!
Devs aren't sure if X8 can have multi/dual touch or not.
Blagus is on his way to check.
Please guys follow thread TO THE END before you will say something.
In X8 devs cannot be sure for now if we have clearpad 2000 or clearpad 1000. Smiliar or/and the same chip is in Nokia N8 and HTC Google Nexus One.
Well, I flashed dual touch support on my X8, but I didn´t like it so much. It seems to work good with pinch zoom, but to press simultaneously just work if one pixel is a bit far from another.

Port HTC chacha android OS to HTC Snap?

I know that this question has been asked in the past… However… now with HTC chacha released in the market with an android OS.
I wonder how high is the possibilities to port android to Snap now? In terms of buttons i believe snap met the "4 buttons" requirement for android. Not sure about the processing and other hardware compatibilities.

Hardware capabilities are a constraint. There has been some attempts with non touchscreen phones as the excalibur, but projects have been stopped because new devices are out weekly.
I will move this to general forums btw.
Cheers,
Not possible, Google android needs a Touchscreen to operate it, The Maple/Snap/Dash Doesn't have one........sadly
What about using it on the SE Aspen?? It is touch screen!
It also is 240*320, which is also just like the HTC ChaCHa or the Samsung Galaxy Pro. Can someone PLEASE port it?? To use with Haret perhaps, as they can be used with other resolutions.
Yeah I guess the Aspen can Handle Android, but I guess it depends upon the type of CPU, and if anyone's willing to port it.
Damn, I wish I saw the Aspen before I saw the Maple.
Yes.. The SE Aspen is a good candidate for an Android. It has a good cpu too. the msm7227 600mhz
