First of all, I have a Vibrant not an I9000.
As part of the Vibrant Ragnarok Project, I deodex everyone of your 2.2.1 leaks within minutes. I use them for what I need. But, if there is a market for stock deodexed 2.2.1 Roms over here then I can start posting them. Is there?
Also, I theme these and mod these roms, take a look over in the Vibrant development forum and let me know if you would be interested in seeing the same over here. Just look for the Einherjar Dev Team releases.
You could port over your m10 Rom they are really good on the battery im currently running it on my i9000 and.got everything to work

I've ported M - Flagship to yesterdays 2.2.1 leak already, i'll get it to you to test later on if you want.

Unfortunately I9000 doesnt work as good on Vibrant though...
It just boggles my mind that the 2.2.1 roms cause the Vibrant to reboot whenever the strength of the signal gets stronger the -70 dbm..
oh i thought you would just have to replace modem and kernal and gps files and you should be all good :|

For me right now the Apocalipse is the fastest but i can not used because camera issue and im using Kyrillos 4.1 OC with JFS partitions.

Ok i tested Lestatious myself and i can say that problem with bluring exists.
Then i back to Kyrillos 4.1 OC. After changing the partition to JFS is almost that fast like Apocalypse.
I hope that final version of Apocalypse will be released soon and will be without any bugs. And i hope that Dark Lestat fix his new rom.

Flores is just retarted for shouting bullcrap like that. Lestat has still made the only kitchen rom there is for our Galaxy, and it even is a good one. You probably haven't even tried it out (saying it only changes framework points to that).

I'm just flash Lestatious again but i replace the kernel with this one from Kyrillos 4.1. After that im install SetCPU and i choose 166 minimum. Then i replace the kernel again with Lestatious original and now everything working fine. I convert all partition to ext2 and now i have about 14k in linpack and 670 in quadrant. F.....g awsome and no freezes at all. Thx and im waiting for app2sd now.

Hmmm, i update Lestatious to new kernel Alpha 14 with update.bat and i think that something go wrong because after that i have 5k in linpack and quadrant stuck at I/O test. Can someone could write about the linpack and quadrant score on this version of ROM?
Now i try to flash again this ROM using ODIN, maybe this could help. If dont, then i will back to previous version with alpha 10.
Ok i found the problem. On alpha 14 the CPU speed is 83mhz only, when i change to 1300 with SetCPU is ok but after couple of minutes going back to 83 again. Im going back to alpha 10. Maybe there is a problem with blur, but after setting minimum CPU speed to 166 everything is ok.

There are only about 2-3, but CM7 is by far the best.
Be warned, there is some battery drainage, but if you can get past that, AMAZING GB ROM.

Asgard, CM7, Simply Galaxy all good but all have problems. Battery, GPS, rainbows.
I'm tempted to try the I9000 bootloaders and risk a brick to fix some of the stuff.
What I would like to know is why the captivate folks can port JVB to their phones and have working GPS and we can't? They also flash the I9000 bootloaders.

I heard something about how the vibrant is the only phone that had the physical GPS changed from the i9000. The other variants kept the same one. So we have no way of knowing how to fix that without hardware evaluation. Correct me if I'm wrong

I am using Simply V3 and well ........... I have found it remarkable but does not bench as fast as some other 2.21 roms...... I not important to me. I do get some GPS (at least within 100 ft) but I do not need this as I have this in my car. But wow nice rom....... boots fast too !!!
CM7 is really fast and very stable but the battery drain is so bad that I can't recommend it to anyone who isn't going to be near a charger most of the day. My phone would drop to 10% by lunch.
I like Asgard a lot. The battery life is much better (unplugged it at 6 AM today, after moderate use, it's 10:30 PM and it's at 34%) and I enjoy TouchWiz 4.

Juwe's port I say. Smoothest than any other GB rom I've tried, and I've tried them all. Plus, no bugs at all. Except the GPS ofcourse but I never used it anyway.

I received my first SGSII 6 weeks ago, and as flash addict (because of my previous sgs), I started to itch and I had mucsle cramps and my mouth drooling. this was 2 weeks after
From that moment I realised that I have to start over rooting my device & then flashing it (to get my daily fix). I did my homework for 2 days (thx to the great devs and the wonderful community here) & then rooted it. the experience is easy and straight forward.
2 days after I started flashing different awesome roms, all of them r great with very solid form factor. However, my phone front speaker was not clear and after asking here i found that I need to replaced it (special thanks to JJe who is dedicated to help)
My experience
After receiving a new phone and playing with it for around 2 wk now, I was able to realise that the advantages in rooting+flashing the awesome SGSII are very marginal, in contrast to the old sgs. In fact this device has cured my addiction, for now and im having a real life again
yes, I miss titanium, CWM, the beautiful theming of the new roms, file explorer, quick reboot, gps aids and few others. Nevertheless, the device is fast, snappy with crisp experience out of the box.
My advice
1- Dont listen to people who r *****ing about the phone all the time because this phone is almost perfect but not perfect though.
2- Dont, I repeat Dont root+/-flash ur device unless u reached the point of understanding the advantages of doing so

But you forgot the best reason ever to root, because you can!
The advantages of rooting imho are: cwm, titanium backup, access to the conf files, adfree, and some more. I don't care about custom roms, the stock is good, you can freeze unnecessary stuff and instal other kernels or launchers.

Even still not that stable, but the usability still blows the stock ROM out of water, especially MIUI.

Root can be really nice if you know what you doing. I fully agree with the op. But again I'm sure the most people know what they are doing. My GSII is not rooted this is the first time I didn't modify the phone for my own needs.
The galaxy is perfect as it is. I miss titanium, cyanogenmod etc. Bug I have a solid os. I really don't need any root (atleast for now).
I read all the issues on xda and I must say I have none of them. No random boots I have great battery life 1 day heavy usage. I had no lag what so ever.
This phone is great as it is. I have nothing against rooting but I won't recommended to normal users

In some countries if you don't have root you can't use "market enabler" for you to update Google Maps.

this world is not about rooting only, tons of apps and upgrades r going on without the need for a root access.
however, rooting is a double edge weapon dont use it until u understand it+plus u need to watch what r installing on ur phone as they will have more access than u know

I have a Galaxy S with darky's rom and the TW launcher that came with it. The android development section has an information overload sort of theme going on for me. I wanted to know what else is to do with the phone in terms of modding. Is there a better rom that i could experiment with or maybe a script or something else entirely.

You must read first,giving you a couple of very good places to start...

You can start with a different launcher. TW isn't very customizable. I would suggest Launcher Pro or ADW (I personally use ADW EX). Both allow a lot more customization. But that's just for the cosmetic side of things.
Another ROM is certainly a way to try new things out. You could also use the V6 Supercharger script if you're looking for some memory tweaking. Just lurk the forums, there's plenty to do.

Free RAM is wasted RAM. Though RAM hungry apps can be an issue with the 340 MB RAM we have. Mostly games eat a lot of RAM, not an issue for everyone, not for me at least.

not at all bad,be happy if you get around 60 when you load up enough!
i dont know what load up enough means
but im espacially buged by facebook and g+ running in tge backgroud even if i tuen off the notification alert feature
im always killing them :-(
