Is this the original battery? - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Alright, I've had a G2 until a day before Christmas I traded it with someone and got a white myTouch. it's great, I'm loving the sense expresso UI, but the battery is horrible. I got so used to the great battery I used to get with the G2 (about 2 days with moderate use) but I am worried that the battery I got isn't the original and looks old, used with the stickers and is easy to bend.
I'm worried that that might be the reason why the battery life is bad aboout (8hours with light usage, lowest brightness, etc)
The model is, BB442100.
The part number is this, 35H00142-00M
The serial is, 2V5E304V008704
It is a 1400mAh battery but I am worried that it might have came from another old device.,

I don't think so mine shows
Model - BD42100
Part Number - 35H00142-02M

i have a Model BD42100
P/N 35H001142-03M
Sounds like is a original battery but may just be defective. Id call t-mo and see what they can do. For my mytouch 3g they sent me a new battery but i had the warranty. If your forced to buy a new battery you may want to look into buying one of these. http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/basi16ht421.htm I've been debating on picking one up myself and a friend of mine has one and swears by it...

Sense ui is a major battery killer. I have a friend that has a completely stock phone and also has horrid battery life as I did as well. But I switched to cm7 and get amazing battery life. I'm not saying to switch roms but sense is a major battery drain

why in god's name would anyone want to make their phone extraordinarily bulky is beyond me. the extended battery extra size makes the phone just as unusable as lack of juice, imo.
I bought the Seidio version for my G1 and that replacement cover was junk. I considered them to be a reputable company too.
That said, I am the type of person who values fuction over form, and am in the market for something like this as long it doesn't come from a no name ebayer.
The idea is solid, but skimping on stuff like this only leads to problems. IMHO of course.
Actually my answer to battery life is to use jac's newest kernel. You should try it before dropping cash.
And what kernal would that be?

That battery back looks like it makes the phone at least twice as thick as it is now.
Maybe if he actually cleaned the back cover, and had some feedback I would consider.
I personally never had bad battery life. The J12 give me a bunch more battery life.
lolz, download Juice Defender, 1.8x times the battery life, thanks
not way I am going to use this. the weight....
Now I know why I never found god, I wasn't looking the right place!
Apparently I should be looking for Luckyminky!
Maybe I'm just used to horrible battery life because of my old G1....barely got a day WITH the extended battery, but I don't see what's so bad about the stock battery life of the vibrant.
I do have a couple of extra batteries though, maybe I just don't notice how often I swap them out.
oh god!!!! the horror!!! the horror!!!! if I wanted a phone that thick I would've bought a G1

Secondary battery

Has anyone tried buying a non official battery for their MS2 and care to comment or recommend any? Im going on holiday to france and i know my phone wont last a whole day without charging, so I was thinking of buying a second battery.
I read in another forum that using a non-Motorola battery displays some kind of warning. I'd go with an original battery.

using a non-original battery could have detrimental effects on your phone. there was a discussion on this on the forum of another phone. using a non-original battery could lead to leaks and other problems which would eventually lead to the warranty of your phone being voided.
stick with original motorola products. yes the battery might be very underpowered, but its the safest bet to ensure the longevity of ur phone
With a non original battery, the battery indicator of your phone shows a interrogation symbol. Also, it does not charge with the phone charger.
Sorry my analphabet english xD
@Motorola Milestone 2
bp7x 2300mAh battery
I 'm using a non-original battery . The MOMAX and everything's good ,it feels just like the original one except for battery tempperature sensor. the temp is always 26 in celsius
I personally have used seidio for my milestone and it works like a charm, its the extended 2800mah one it really performs like it should and not like how a lot of people claim thats its way less than stock! It does not always read it correctly but a quick reboot fixes that, like 50% after reboot would usually be about 70-80%. They way i used to use my phone (light to moderate level) would last about 2-3 days but after the extended I got twice that and some more. Just make sure you get stuff from the original manufactures either way and don't go for deals at amazon or whatnot as those guys might be selling either defected or not proprely stored stuff. Batteries are critical components don't go cheap on them! And no, my phone has not been messed up or had any leaks or anything and I have this for about 3-4 months now. The original battery degraded in about 6months if you have to compare.
That sounds promising, does the battery need to be charged with an external charger? And does the milestone complain that you are not using the official bettery

reebooting your phone to get the exact picture also works on the standard battery. my question is, does the back part which houses the battery heat up when used? does the phone get hot during charging? do you need a new battery cover for it? and besides the longer usability, have you noticed any other performance issues on the phone?

Actually the rebooting to get the exact picture is not the same here, a jump to 20-30% on a stock battery? I don't think so. No I never encountered any odd behavior with the other battery. No getting extra hot during charge or use, get the typical little bit of heat while using 3G and browsing like mad but that would happen on the stock battery too. Battery cover for a 2800? of course, that stuff is huge! its protrudes like mad! a quick heads up though, the extended battery for the milestone 1 and 2 can use the same extended batteries. Don't know about the droid x though. Anyways, no performance issues, no heat while charging. The back covers supplied by these after market guys are not the best quality though so if you are someone who loves dropping phones and what not would recommed getting a spare back cover from the guys you get the batts from.

No, I use my original charger and no complains or warnings by the phone. Not on the milestone 1 at least. In fact some times i use my ipod's adapter so no big issue. And it charges at the same pace as the stock, additional 1 hour or whatever. restart the phone to getting a proper reading as it shows 100% but upon restart its 70-80% since only the stock level is charged. I hear this app called battery left does great for calibration.
ALSO a thing to note, I only know of Seidio and Mugen to be relialbe after market battery guys hence their hefty pricing at times. The others claiming to have bigger batteries have cheated people with stickers and what not and usually end up underperforming and degrading considerably faster than burning paper! I remember 1USD batteries for nokias back in the day good for a quick one time run i suppose but these 1USD guys are now selling them with a better branding for like 20-40 USD.
Anyways Sedio and Mugen have facebook profiles and keep people posted on the latest on devices usually there, although its kind of sad since seidio have not followed through promised products at times.

Cool but as I suggested try and get them off the manufactures themselves as I have noticed some people complaining when purchased via 3rd party retailers.
Also another bud of mine had picked up one for the Nexus one, that phones back cover is a full one unlike the moto's and he too can vouch for the products positive performance. Either ways also check out some reviews from amazon.com for peace of mind.

is the battery meter being shown or are you getting an error message because i would like to buy one
No complaints from the phone about it being the incorrect battery the battery has been charged within/by the phone no external charger required. I got the 1500mah version from mobilefun I doubt it will give much more performance but will see.

After my first day of use I got around 11 hours of use before reaching 5%. Here are the usage statistics at 15%
https://picasaweb.google.com/105351366297036719015/DropBox?authkey=Gv1sRgCJna6ZH6hLKxzQE
Wifi was on most of the time, I was using my phone for the usual things. Occasionally checking socialfeeds, engadget, xda every hour or so and internet browsing I played 10 minutes of angry bids. Updated some apps and downloaded a few new ones.
Overall not a significant increase in battery life maybe an hour or so more from what I am used to.

random hardware issues? your battery might be going bad!

Hi everyone!
(TL;DR: i had hardware issues - overheating, slow mobile data, crappy battery life on 3G, non-responsiveness, etc. - that all got solved by replacing the battery for a new one)
I've been a faithful N1 user (briefly went to the nexus S, but came back) since april 2010, and my nexus one has been great ever since i got it.
A few months ago, I started having random hardware issues: first my camera led wouldn't turn on, then the speaker and vibrating motor went bad (I replaced all three parts with spares from ebay), and while i thought everything was repaired, I started having serious battery life and other random issues i couldn't really diagnose.
My phone would overheat after around 5 minutes with the screen on (i.e. while reading the morning news), 3G data was spotty and very slow, and the phone would sometimes be unresponsive for brief amounts of time. Also, my battery life dropped from lasting the whole day, to not even reaching 3PM. I managed to solve most of the issues by going 2G only - after all, I said, it's been almost 2 years and the phone was bound to go bad some time - however, the phone never really felt stable again.
In the meantime, I bought an OEM battery and a replacement digitizer (my battery stats blamed the screen for like 90% of battery consumption, so I guessed there was some sort of electric short on the digitizer or lcd, and the battery calibration app said my battery was only 84% fit), so I guessed I could try one last round of repairs before declaring my N1 retired. I even bought a Sensation in preparation to that sad moment.
Long story short, I swapped batteries 2 days ago and all my issues disappeared as if it was magic. Now I'm at 60% battery, with 3G on all day, and it's been 13 hours on, yesterday was similar. The phone has never overheated again since the battery replacement, and has been as responsive as I can remember, and mobile data has been somewhat faster (I blame my carrier for sucky speeds).
So, if you are experiencing weird hardware issues like mine, sudden changes in behaviour or just plain sucky battery life, it might mean it's time to get a replacement!! my battery lasted for about 2 years, and that's a very very good run.
Also, a bad battery was most probably the cause of the other components going bad, since i guess it didn't provide a stable supply of power.
Now I'm in love with my N1 again, and don't know what I'm gonna do with the Sensation I bought in desperation!!
Just sharing my story, maybe it can help somebody get their N1 back on full working condition.
Soooo agree!
I recently got my Nexus from my Dad. He blamed it for many things, included sudden reboot and overheating. I tried a bunch of GB roms, even stock (on which I even can't boot in with SIM on) and then I thought of the battery's fault.
As I can't find an OEM one, I just pick a new chinese battery, a SCUD 1420, the brand is kinda well-known as a decent battery replacement in town. Well, the battery life isn't that good, but now my phone hasn't reboot since then. Especially now when I run ICS, very smooth for an old N1
Still, could you tell me where did you get your battery please? I'm looking for an OEM that has better battery life.
Viva el N1
I bought from this seller on ebay. At least my unit looks ok (not exactly like the original battery that came with the phone, but very close).
it's also quite cheap, considering it revived my phone.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/33046584691...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_1849wt_1189
mine gets a little overheat (debug mode even shows "overheating") when charging the original battery.
and since it was new, the touchscreen does not work if the screen is on for a long time while charging.
just got a new 3.2A/H battery, it haven't solved the touch screen the slightest
still not showing overheating though... but the original one showed even when it was new.

[Q] Poor battery life with replacement LG G2

When I first got my LG G2 phone, I was quite happy with the battery life. I could get about two days of battery life with a full charge. After not owning the phone for too long, the screen went garbled and stopped working. Loose connector, I suppose. Anyway, I got a replacement LG G2 (factory refurb, I assume) and the battery life is about half of what it was before. I'm lucky if I can go a full day without requiring a top-off.
Given that the G2 phone line was only released about 6 months ago, it's hard to imagine that the replacement phone's battery was used so much that it doesn't hold a significant charge anymore. The phone is similarly configured (stock Verizon OS, rooted, a number of bloatware apps removed), so I can't imagine why the battery life is so much worse. Had I not experienced such good battery performance with my first phone, I perhaps wouldn't mind so much. But this one is definitely a let-down.
What could possibly cause such a difference in battery life between my two instances of the same model phone? If my replacement phone does indeed have a defective battery, I'm suspicious whether I'd be able to get another replacement just because the current one isn't as good as my old one. Is perhaps the quality control on the G2 battery low enough that you might by luck get a good one or a bad one, and I was lucky with my first one and unlucky with my replacement?
Thoughts?
Mine is same my first g2 can get up to 6 hours of screen on time,But in the second g2 i only get max of 3 hours of screen on time...

Which battery to buy for the Galaxy S5?

Few months ago i brought a samsung battery for my S5 from a local tech shop.
I've got a feeling it wasn't a Genuine one or could be a bad one. But i've been having issues with it.
So i wanted to buy another battery but not sure which one to get. Also on a tight budget right now.
I was looking at the RavPower S5 battery. Is that good? I know it doesn't have nfc, but i hardly use that feature.

Please help me out, thanks. :good:

I bought two of these for my parents identical phones https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Capable-YONTEX-Replacement-Protector/dp/B074PQL78T/ref=sr_1_12?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1515042133&sr=1-12&keywords=s5+battery
Brand is "Yontex" and came with extremely tight tolerance screen protectors (I think I went through all of them but one until I got one to fit).
They claim to have NFC like the stock batteries. I let them charge, then drained them to 0 a few times like they state to do in the instructions.
1-On my dads phone who just has basic stuff installed, the battery life increased back to how it was when new...It can sit for almost 2 days on one charge.
2-On my moms phone who has an insane amount of crap running 24/7, the battery life did not really increase that much until I started running a wake-lock app to figure out what was still draining the battery.
(snapchat, gasbuddy, weather channel & facebook were the major offenders).
I have not actually tested the NFC function since they never use it. On another note, I don't think Samsung makes S5 batteries anymore, so any stock you find is old stock from when they were being produced years ago. Lithium batteries die whether being used or sitting on a shelf, so a fresh production date helps.
