I have a dell streak that I super rooted and as it finished up and rebooted the lights started flashing and it keeps rebooting. What to do what to do? I have been at this for about 5 hours. Thanks to all in advance.
I have tried to restore with factory have tried to use the update.pkg.zip and get a problem with zip status
Error has been fixed. Thank you
too many .file.extensions?
either use update.pkg
or update.zip and try that
on need to name update.pkg to update.pkg.zip ...too many dots!
Cqan you still boot into fastboot mode?

Just a note of hope. I had something similar happen on a new stock att 1.6 after installing Nero backup. I was transferring from my RMA'd streak (1.6) and after restoring the backup it went into a boot loop that could not be cleared by battery removal. It would boot as far as the chromatic Dell splash and then black out and restart. I went to bed with it plugged in and recycling... In the am it was OK. It now has 2.2 and DJSteves 1.5.3 ROM w/ no other troubles. I don't believe in magic, but I don't know how it healed either... I'm sure that I saw it loop at least 25 times before I closed my eyes.
Good Luck.

Hi,
First may i apologise if this has already been solved, but i cant find the thread.
I have a O.2 UK streak 4399 version 21.
I followed Pauls instructions to change baseband to the t. However now I can not boot. I get stuck on the dell logo. when I try recovery it just goes to a black screen.
I think its something to do with the 'system' files or 'etc'.
Fastboot is working.
Im quite a noob, and have flashed several times. this time i dont know whats wrong?
You guys on XDA are awesome and have helped so much before, I hope you can help now.
Many thanks !
I found an old stock recovery and flashed it. thankfully now recovery works.
Back to 1.6, 4399, with no flashing led's.
I got it to boot, but I have flashing home and menu led's.
For some reason Recovery still wont work and goes to a black screen. No matter what recovery I seem to use?

Thanks but I've tried this three times now, and I always end up reverting back to 1.6 with flashing home and menu LED's.
Everything else is working but recovery. I select update from .pkg, but all i can get is a black screen. Then i have to flash 1.6 again??

ok guys i have completed this for all you rogers customers
this was completed on a rogers locked streak
these are the steps i took
i rooted mine using universal androot (real easy !)
installed fastboot drivers
nandroided using clockwork recovery (the one that worked for me was 1.8.1.7)
then i flashed back to stock recovery
then flashed 02 1.6 (build 4399)
then flashed 02 2.1 (build 8105)
restored apn setting
now im just gonna see if i should do the hyde's 2.2 but from what ive read apps go missing in market so im gonna have to ask around
but yea for all you rogers heads it has been done !!!!
Good job, That's the exact way that I did it. It only took 10 hours or so to finally figure it all out. The one good thing about it is, it was good learning. I came from using HTC phones, they are super easy to flash ROMS with. This streak is a little harder, at least having flash over so many times.
yea i came from a g1 so i know the deal
I sent you a PM asking if you have your nandroid backup handy. If you do can you mirror it somewhere to help me out? I can't find the Rogers build 7921 anywhere to download.
can you make into a update.pkg ?

I actually don't know, but for backup reasons (warranty) it would be nice to have. I can look into making it a pkg for flashing without clockworkmod. Thanks
Ill send it to you by pm gimme a bit

Hey there! I'm so close I can taste Froyo.... but:
Would love the help of some of the more experienced here. I'm at at dead end.
Goal is to get to Custom 1.4.6 Froyo ROM. Currently I get stuck on a blank screen after trying a O2 1.6 (4399) update from a restored stock recovery. I can restore my nandroid 7921 backup but it come up with a number of errors so not feeling to solid about that. Also says baseband unknown (see below).
What I have done so far:
ii. Rooted with Universal Root (I think - rooted for sure, not sure exactly if it was UR or another, but it said it worked(after 2 trys))
1. Setup Fastboot mode with no problems (no driver problems just worked)
2. Installed clockwork recovery v1.8.1.7
2b. Backed up using nandroid
3. Used fastboot to apply dsp1.bin (720p video) and amss.bin (baseband?) updates for 1.4.6
4. Flashed DJS Froyo 1.4.6
Result was installed fine but on attempted boot the classic stuck at Dell logo. Pretty sure I left it long enough (about 15 min or so). No luck.
5. Restored 7921 backup. Worked but LEDs were flashing (baseband miss match?) and received a 'battery error' (battery charging disabled).
Then saw this thread realized the path to take = Rogers 1.6 -> O2 1.6 -> O2 2.1 -> DJS Froyo 1.4.6 so have set off on that path.
6. Installed Stock Recovery with Fastboot
7. Attempted to flash O2 1.6 (4399). result was a blank screen for a long time (left about 15 minutes)
Soooooo....
Just to prove to myself I wasn't screwed I have since fastboot installed clockwork recovery and restored 7921 nandoid back-up. Only problem seems to be an error stating "sd-ext.img not found. Skipping restore of /sd-ext." It boots now but has that battery error still about not charging.
What I believe I should be doing (goal is still to get to DJS 1.4.6) is:
1. Restore recovery to stock recovery and flashing O2 1.6 (4933)
2. Flash O2 2.1 (8105)
3. Fastboot the recover to clockworks
4. Flash to DJS 1.4.6
But not sure how to get past my blank screen after restore of stock recovery and attempted flashing of o2 1.6 (4933). Have tried 2 different stock recovery images and 2 different o2 1.6 (4933) pkg files.
Would appreciate anyone who can show me the error(s) of my ways.
Thanks so much.
Cheers.

yep you should of flashed 02 1.6 first then 02 2.1 then upgraded to 1.4.6
if you can still get to recovery then you should be able to get things running again
my advice would be to try to get your baseband back to normal , not exactly sure how maybe you could find an alternate , also i think that you sd-ext could be solved by re mounting it in clockwork recovery ,ill do what i can to help you , baseband flashing is new to me
ok i have been having trouble and cant seem to get around it.
i have upgraded my locked att phone to 2.2 using the qdl tool.
i am now at gausb1a130500 build 10688.
i have downloaded the official 2.2 318 from dell.
after it downloads and i run it. it reboots to the dell white logo and stays there and will not lave that until it loses power or i pull the battery. if i have it plugged in and it reboots it will not start a charge cycle and it will run out of power and then reboot.
is there anyway i can force this thing to run? i have tried to download this several times.
Have you wiped the Delvik Cache? That usually works for me. You could try to flash either Streakmod or ClockworkMod recovery, and perform a Factory reset.

Ok, so I updated from stock, using official update phone rebooted and stayed at samsung screen forever it kept blinking and vibrating. Pulled battery, tried restarting it goes samsung loading bar -> VM welcome -> flashing/vibrating samsung screen.....I can get into recovery AND download mode. Tried clearing cache, factory reset, and updating again, but still gets stuck at samsung screen. I am desperate guys I really need help, I am going on a LONG road trip this weekend and need my phone so ANY help would really be appreciated. THANKS!
When u say update do u mean u went from ex. 2.1 to 2.2.... android that is? U should elaborate a hit more, if what I mentioned is the case then revert back to the ROM prior to the update. If u give more info I may be able to help from my personal experiences

Yes used official update went from 2.1 (stock) to 2.2 as the update finished, it got stuck in a sort of boot cycle, stuck at a samsung screen keeps flashing samsung logo, and vibrating. wont fully boot
OK, I saw on my facebook page samsung intercept page. Mediafire link to download update.zip file, has anyone tried this. Will this work,if it bricks my phone i will be pissed...
There's always the chance that a phone can get bricked, no mater what ...even from an 'official' update from your service provider. With that said, however, I've downloaded the Virgin Mobile 2.2 Froyo update file that's floating around and it installed no problem on my phone.
For the first poster ....I believe that the stock recovery is necessary for the VM 2.2 update to work. I won't swear on that though.
Here's what I did. Downloaded the 2.2 VM Froyo update to my laptop. Renamed it 'update.zip'. Copied it to the root of my sdcard on my Intercept via bluetooth. Booted into recovery mode and applied the update. Twiddled my thumbs while it updated itself from recovery and then rebooted....and the reboot takes a while, maybe 5 minutes. Presto ...2.2 Froyo.

I think that you didn't wait long enough...as the reboot takes a looooong time, maybe 5 minutes or more at least. Patience is a virtue.
Okay guys,im new here. I installed VM Froyo 2.2 update.zip,it seems to work fine. A bit slow but its still booting up. I installed stock rom, stock kernal, and update.zip,in that order. And backup works too, wiped dalvik cashe to. I like this forum its more informative, will let yall know more later. Thanks.

You're making this way to convoluted. All that one needs to do when updating from stock 2.1 on the VM Intercept is to download the (official unofficial) update file, rename it to 'update.zip' on the root of the sdcard, boot into recovery, and apply the update. That's it. It installs Froyo and the new radio, etc, itself...all from the update.zip. No need to mess with kernels and recovery or wipe anything ....except one's own azz if they go take a chit while waiting for it to reboot. In fact, when I updated it even kept all of my 2.1 widgets and icons and imported them into Froyo ...I didn't need to do a thing.
Oh, I see ....you had to convert your Intercept back to 'stock' first. Nevermind...
Yes, i did i downloaded stock rom, stock kernal and stock recovery all .zip. Put stock.zips in sdx/zip folder and update.zip 2.2 in root on sdcard. Installed all three wiped dalvik cashe rebooted each time in custom recvery. When i got to stk rec. rebooted to stock rec. Ran update.zip 2.2 may take a while but it booted no problems.
Can u get the phone into download more with any button sequences, YouTube it if u don't know what i mean(mobiletechvideos) then y will need to use odin to use tp download an official Samsung Rom.... PM if u need help

Hi, everyone.
Is there a recovery mod with a 100% working Nandroid backup for the stock 351 ROM? I tried StreakMod Recovery, but it keeps getting stuck at the "Firstboot" stage.
Thanks in advance.
I don't know of anyone who has one, but I expect that in short order you're going to get a slew of posts from posters rubbing it in your face that they got Streakmod to work without a problem.
Wow, butthurt or what? You have the right to say it didnt work for you but I can't say I had no problems? Not sure how that is rubbing it in your face either.

It takes 3 to 5 minutes.

Successful Nandroid Backup
I was reading through new posts JUST as I was performing a Nandroid backup with a 351 BB I flashed over a few days ago, went off without a hitch and yeah, about 5 minutes is what the whole process takes.
