Ór is it possible to patch one of these after flash?
Thanks!
After flashing, CyanogenMod ROM allows you to enable JIT in it's configuration menu. I don't know about the other ROMs.

Yeah i've seen and tried that, but there's no sense in this ROM!
Oh wow I should learn to read
As for Sense, yes Wildpuzzle based on android 2.1 (and maybe some others) are JIT enabled.
Thinking about that your question, IMO it should be "Is there any Froyo ROM with sense, that has JIT enabled?" then the answer is No.

Ok i am using CM 4.2.6 and I wanted to try a newer hero rom, but with CM you can use tether over wifi/3g im not sure if hero roms do that, i was wondering about if it does? Fill me iin please
almost all hero roms have the tether option, it depends on which rom it is though... if its the latest 2.1 hero/Eclair by eugene, it will most likely not be supported until the developer of the apk builds support

Can anyone help?
As the title says - I'd really like help from you talented developers -
I love Wildpuzzle Rom. Love it to death. However - I can't (currently) get it to work w overclocking - I have one of the phones out there that only work w Jacob's kernel 4.1 - and none prior to that - and danne_jo's version of that kernel unfortunately just makes my phone restart at htc splashscreen all the time...
So I have 2 choices - either wait for danne_jo to somehow / sometime fix that kernel -
or....
change to cyanogenmod or openfire...
NOW. I am desperate to have HTC Sense in my phone. It's a must. Can't use the vanilla stuff, can't seem to get used to them, miss HTC Weather, Contacts, Dialer, Clock, list goes on forever.
So can anyone helpout here - PLEASE - do a flashable HTC Sense package that will work with Openfire or Cyanogenmod - or preferrably both.
My gratitude goes out to you people for your great work so far - and your possible help on this.
And danne_jo if you see this - I miss my Wildpuzzle a lot. Please try to make Jacob's 4.1 kernel work on Wildpuzzle (Froyo Version). It works on every other system but Wildpuzzle on my phone!
Thanks for your time!
+1 to that...
And if possible add flash support with that

If only Jacob's kernel works, then flash it to Wildpuzzle. It is fully compatible and is available standalone from Jacob's topic.
As for Sense, it's highly unlikely. At some point in the past there was a version of sense available for Cyanogen. However, in efforts to make the mod wholly legal, all components were removed. As far as I am aware, it would take extensive work and knowledge of the Sense UI code to build it into any ROM with an AOSP base.
If what you miss are the home screens and dialer, I suggest looking to LauncherPro and beautiful widgets, along with some of the custom dialers that exist.
I'd like to see this taken a step further honestly. A plain ROM with the 4.1 kernal, a pack to add the HTC apps (like there is for the Google stuff), etc. That way, one version of a ROM can be tailored to suit everyone interested in trying out of the growing user created ROM's.
I would if it worked. Both the one found on Jacob's kernel thread - and the one specifically made for Wildpuzzle by danne_jo causes bootloop on HTC Splashscreen. Why I have no clue. The one found in Jacob's thread works a treat on both Cyano and Open - only Wildpuzzle won't work.
And no, I'm looking for the whole Sense thing - except a few apk's that I can remove later...I MUST have HTC Contact above all, then Weather, Clock, and a few more...
Why is there no Stock Sense Froyo -
IF I figured out the howto's I'd do a Sense Rom based on Chinese Froyo - adding Sense from Stock 2.1 - w all the Chinese junk removed, Rom Manager, Root Explorer, Linpack, Setcpu, Superuser, Busybox added. Rooted, Deodexed (whatever that is), and OC'd w Jacob's 4.1 kernel.
Why has noone done that rom as of yet? I very much doubt I'm the only one who'd like such a rom.
And WHY oh Why won't Jacob's 4.1 kernel work on Wildpuzzle!

for htc sense ui lover like me
CM + htc sense = SUPERB
wildpuzzle + HCDR.jacob kernel 4.1 + (no freezing) = best alternative

Kernel works in wildpuzzle eclair
Sent from CM6 on my HTC Wildfire
It may, I've never tried - and would rather not as I would like to keep the froyo speeds...
So basically what you're saying Jacob, is that your 4.1 kernel doesn't work w Froyo version of Sense? Not Wildpuzzle nor anything else? Am I correct? If Yes - any clue on why - and any plans of doing something against that? Same problem as before tho, won't give us an ADB as freezes/restarts before it connects...always on the HTC Splashscreen...
Any clue Jacob?

It won't work for me with WP Eclair. I lose wifi connection.
Not tried WP Froyo since the first release of it as I need the contacts shown and want the weather location to work.
Not for those of us w more bad blocks i'm afraid...
I would really love it to but it won't - gives me the same error that all the older OC kernels did w everything... - restart/freeze on htc splash screen so I can't even get an adb logcat...
but only on Froyo Wildpuzzle - works on Wildpuzzle Eclair (which I am now temporarily using, until Wildpuzzle Froyo is made to work) as well as Cyanogenmod and Openfire perfectly

Hi.
Since there are several Sense 3 ROMs for HD2 out there, it might be possible to
port just the Sense 3.0 Lockscreen to Sense 2.1 ROMs.
I am quite sure, I am not the only one who likes to see this. But since i am not a Dev, I dont know if this is possible.

Hi,
Check here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=928&order=desc
Roms by Krendlerus,Daekin and maybe Sergio.
If you want SD build then check out MccM's Sens 2.1 +3.0. Been working as a daily ROM for me for two days and everything is smooth

Hi,
Yes I realise what you want ,but you will only be able to do this with a GB ROM.
Therefore you need to consider an upgrade.
Why don't you make a CWM backup, put on the new ROM and if you don't like it,restore your original ROM.
im hearing lot of ppl asking to get rid of debuging from roms, also few say that some rom is not final because it has debuging in it. what does that mean.
i dont see any special debuging in any rom, if they are talking about the debug apk thats present in every rom even the official froyo one. or am i missing something?

Debugging is not something you'll want to have or be bothered with, in many ROMs, mostly leaked ones...They still have debugging enabled, which is normally just for the testing phase of the ROM, and can also tell DEVs that it's not the final version of the Build. Debugging roms aren't complete and are actually slower in speed, compare Gingerbread mySense 2.3 w/ and w/o and you may or not notice the difference. On a regular sense 3.0 build, you'll see the difference and even on 2.1 sense too. Debugging is always absent from a Final build of said ROM, since that junk is only needed for testing and diagnostics and what not. Hope this post helps you OP.
ok got it but how do you know its there, i mean when somone asks devs to remove debugging what does hat mean is it some apk or what?
im asking cause the orignal 2.2 and 2.2.1 ruu zips here in the forum have debug.apk present, so that cant be the debuging we are talking about right?

Thats in many sense rooms or mysense, but quadrant scores are very low when debug is on. You can safely remove the debug.apk with no worries,i normally take it out. Leaked roms are there main holders of full out debugging, since they aren't done yet. You can ask devs to remove it, and that will yield speed improvements. You can compare a mytouch with a leaked 2.1 sense vs a inc2,desire hd, or any of its brother devices. And the one with stock 2.1 would have higher benchmarks. Higher doesn't always mean faster daily performance. In my experience the cpu stays higher speeds on debug builds. And forgot to say removing that one file doesn't remove debugging from a leaked or testing ROM, there are other files a Dev has to remove.

thats what i wanted to hear as that apk debug tool.apk is present in all roms even the official roms just not test roms so it has tobe something else. that debug tool apk must be usb debugging that every phone has.

Debugtool is only in sense roms , if you use MIUI/CM7 you won't be seeing those things, because that's a debug tool made by htc.
ok i ported htc vision official rom to glacier just to check, and as any other official sense 2.3 roms it gets low quadrant score than the froyo one, so sorry i dont believe that 2,19 version of the rom has anything wrong.
froyo 1.17 gets 1800+ stock
mysernse 2.1 glacier 2.19... gets 1600+
panache gets 1600+ stock
desire Z ported stock gets 1600+
remember im talking about stock roms means stock kernels and all.

Gingerbread and quadrant don't play nicely on sense roms, MIUI/CM7/TouchWiz/Blur rom types will all get much higher quadrants scores under ginger. If you use CM7 you'll get around maybe 2400 at stock speed, compared to these under 2K scores that the ginger sense roms have. I would say it's related to something in the sense roms that htc is doing, that's leading to these lower scores. A Sensation stock gets around 2K, which is what a MT4G can get on its stock froyo rom, notice something wrong here?

Yeah it doesn't really measure performance really well....I like linpack more since it's only a cpu test of calculations. Quadrant may just need tuning .
Hello, i have virtuous 2.0 rom installed, and i'd like to get some info about kernels before flashing anything, if you have any advice or experience with this rom and tried kernels on it it would be nice to let me know, i did some research but i am kinda lost, was going to put Unity kernel but then i thought i have 2.3.3 and i read it is for 2.3.4>. Anyway thanks in advance.
Oh and one last thing are there many Sense 2.1 ROMS, iknow virtous and InsertCoin.
Some other 2.1 ROMS
eVil has 2 mytouch ROMS - one is a slide the other is not
bsbokc has a mytouch rom (myVision 2.3.4)
virtuous had 1.0.2 before the 2.0
siulmagic has paradox (2.1 + 3.0 widgets like insertcoin)
suilmagic has Synergy (2.1 + 3.0)
I think there was a leedroid that was 2.1 but I could be wrong.
There is an archive out there of many of the ROMS @ http://xda.niksie.nl/index.php?option=com_jdownloads&view=viewcategory&catid=6&Itemid=1, I have nothing to do with it, but many thanks to Niksie

Manythanks to you friend for the link provided, i think i have some more to learn, android world moves so fast ^^
i'll experiment some more and see.
Oh one more question, do i need to install SetCPU or OC'd kernels are already pre-configured to mange cpu frequencies and voltages? or maybe there is a file to modifiy or customize?
Most 2.1 Rom's will use setcpu as the other oc's came out more on the 3.0 sense roms. Also check in the /etc for a virtuous directory, if there you can edit the files there to increase the clocks as well, but you will need to know what values to use as well.
