Well calm that has a solution
1 install I9000UGJH2
http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm
with pit 512 and re-partition marked
and you will have the 850mhz back
2 Install jpo Froyo, not re-partition check
then place the file. tar in pda
Froyo will not lose now 850mhz
Any questions pm me

HELP
Hi Everyone,
I have recently purchased a i9000t 2.1 from Telecom New Zealand, in my excitment I wanted to upgrade to 2.2 Froyo which I have done... however I now have reformatted the device to a i9000 using 2.2. i9000t should be 850ghz which now is a 900ghz phone which is the i9000. Im confused because I can still make calls
I cannot connect to and mobile data, Im a bit out of my depth and did not backup. Could someone give me some advise to what I should do. The phone info is as follows currently since the upgrade:
Model - GT-I9000 (should be GT-I9000T)
Firmware - 2.2
Baseband - I9000XXJPX
Kernal - 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1
Build - FROYO.XXJPX

HELP!
The password is samfirmware.com
Hope this helps ya buddy
Does any one know where i can get the original T-Mobile UK Rom from?
Thanks..
have you searched using google
You probably will not find it via a search as nobody seems to bother to back up the original and original roms are not released .
Only step is to install stock Eclair via Odin and hope for an upgrade to TMobile via Kies or possible registry spoof if it still works .

What? I didn't doubt that this was true..
You made 2 threads about this, both in the wrong forum, both threads exactly the same but you changed the words around.

why you even bother yourself Gang ...
probably the OP want to have a look at my signature specially on the right corner
I have flashed this rom. Everything works very good. Browser is much faster in downloading and rendering the page. System UI animates fluently and smoothly. Many small functional flaws are patched. Almost perfect.
The only problem is I don't know how to root it. Neither z4root nor SuperOneClick works. I also tried Chainfire's CF-Root:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=885734
No luck. After flashing the CF-Root-TAB7_XX_OXA_JQ1-v3.3-CWM3RFS kernel, my P1000N refuse to boot. I can see the boot up animation and the system show the lock screen, but touch-screen doesn't work and the system soon crash/reboot.
Maybe I should try other cf-root kernel? any advices?

Search for the bootloader patch, chances are, you've flashed new protected bootloader.

Neither Superoneclick or Cf-Root is going to work for you since you have
P1000N --- Latin Model. Cf-root is for generic P1000 only
Please take a look in this thread for further information.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=974408
it looks P1000ZUJP8 is newer than JP7
I also flashed this firmware to my p1000n from Keis.
I can´t root the tab with SuperOneClick. GingerBreak don´t work.
I supose Cf-root don´t work because the locked bootloader....but to unlock bootloader you have to execute chainfire´s apk like root.
One solution should be to flash an unlocked bootloader.... but which one?
The good news is, humberos has released cf-root porting for P1000N.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1124224
I will try it after somebody has successfully flashed it.

sorry sir, a little off-topic.
may I ask where and from which carrier you bought your P1000N.
I live in China and I bought this device from local vendor, smuggled good (much cheaper than that sold by Samsung China). I'd like to install and update my device using official Kies. But I don't know where to download it.
On the back of the device, I see the following print:
MODELO : GT-P1000N, SSN: P1000NGSMH
thanks in advance.
The Title is a bit misleading- it says "official" but then later it is from samfirmware. Since when did samfirmware provide official firmware?

I've bought it in Argentina. No carrier. Downloaded Kies from samsung.com.
Over the past week I have helped 3 people that have had there phones messed up by the updating process of Kies. Thankfully they was all recoverable, but I actually think it won't be long before we see bricks using this software;+( So be careful guys, use Odin whenever you can

Well its been kicking phones out mid flash, if this happens while flashing the radio segment, its a dead phone:/
If you check intratechs thread in the dev section it will show you a better and safer method through Odin. Plus you will have the advantages of getting roms earlier sometimes

Yes they have in the past on SGS 1 or at least fixed the phone FOC .
Plus a bricked phone is very rare on SGS flash stock rom through Odin cures 99% .
Dead radio just flash a new Modem through Odin .

If the radio has been partially flashed and stopped mid flash i think that corrupts the baseband with no return. I remember that the only real way to brick a Nexus was to stop the flash process while the baseband was being wrote to.
And yes samsung would be obliged to give you a new phone or repair the damage caused if Kies is the culprit
Yeh kies is not very good, I've had many time outs.
If you are worried about flashing via odin don't be you can get official Rom to flash via odin.
They are Roms that Samsung has releases .
Read the simple instructions and flash via odin, once you do it one you will see how easy it is

I can't help but wondering how on earth someone manages to mess up a Kies update?
Unless they are running some custom rom/kernel...or somehow have a running process that interferes with kies during the update.
I have never had a problem updating through kies from official firmware.
So I am a bit puzzled when I hear this...
Yes, thanks a lot for creating this thread. Kies has been suffering in the firmware upgrade issue for a long time now. It is time for solving the issue with sincere urgency.
SHAME ON SAMSUNG.
Regards.
Yeah u r right,,,kies dont even work anymore,,,whenever i try to update,it just download the firmware and just before the flashing process a message pop up saying "FirmwareUpdate has been stopped",,,its damn irritating,,,i guess it doesnt work on Win 7...
But i wanted to ask something for a while,,,i see some people here are just "obsessed" with flashing firmwares and roms now and then ,,,,i wonder that isnt it a bit tiring to install all those apps again and again,,i mean i know google restores ur apps,,,but what about those which are ummm cracked?? (i kinda have alot of cracked games i bought only a few)...
Atleast with a Kies update all ur apps remain secure...

Kies from day one has been unreliable for a number of reasons mostly not user problems .
For starters its driver setup and use has always been poor .
Its connection setup is not robust likewise its failure to recover from broken downloads .
Kies in a nutshell does not recover from errors and is error prone even for the most advanced users .

As we on XDA support the Devs and do not rip them off we do not have cracked software .

It's just a matter of bad luck. It can happen, and maybe it'll happen to you one day. You can't always blame this on the user. Like for example, there's a power blackout in the middle of a flash and your computer suddenly turns off. Nothing you can do about it, yet you're screwed.
Kies is like that, it's a not a completely safe piece of sofware. Even flashing the bios on a computer isn't. Thing is, Odin allows you to flash official firmwares and is generally safer. There's no real reason to prefer Kies over Odin.
on your phone, go Setting:
About phone --> Software update -->Check for update
that got my phone updated to KF4(1st try).. tired with kies but no luck(2-3 hrs+ many dl errors)

flash a gingerbread or ics, whatever u want .ftf file via flashtools
root will be removed
this is though not the right section ... ask this question in q&a section for getting more replies
One more thing i don't know how you rooted your phone, though rooting improves phone's performance and doesn't stops from your phone from updating... unlocking bootloader stops letting the phone get updated, so you have to re-lock it back to get official updates .
