[Q] Flash back to Stock - Droid X General

I'm sorry if this has been posted in another thread, but I couldn't find anything and I would like to return to stock 2.2.1. (if possible)
Here are my settings
1. Android version 2.2.1
2. I was on 2.2.340 before I loaded the GummyJAR ROM
3. I have downloaded the VRZ_MB810_2.3.32_1FF_01.sbf from TBH.
4. I have RSDLite 4.7 with the proper drivers installed.
Should I just use this sbf file?
Will this install it to 2.2 and would I be able to OTA 2.2.1?
Thanks! and sorry for my "noob-ness"

No, you need the SBF for 2.3.320 and then the patches for 2.3.340. You can find the links at myDroidworld. DONT SBF to 2.3.15/2.2 you will brick.

If you have a stock nandroid backup, just restore that. The easiest thing to do is always make a backup of stock.

Even if you lost root... it takes all of 5 min to get it back.

How to unroot the a500

Does anyone know how to unroot the Acer A500?
Just picked one up used and just wanna go back to stock.
Here is the info on my tablet
Model Number: GT-P7500
Android Version: 3.1
Baseband Version: Unknown
Kernel Version: [email protected]
Build Number: HMJ37.XXKFF P7500XXKFF
Just install one of the 100% stock roms in the Dev section. Check out Vache's thread, though I do recommend you install one of the pre-rooted stock ROMs in there, otherwise there are a few hoops to jump through to re-root again.

Can you link me one you'd recommend I do? I basically wanna go back so I can do all the Manufacturer updates and stuff.

[Q]Defy+ 2.3.5

So i just bought a defy+ and it has 2.3.5. Stupid carrier.
Well, im trying to find which baseband is using but its not listed in the about phone menu. Is there any other way around?
I want to install a custom rom with 720p, but all there are so many different kernels i have no idea which one to use, or if i even need to flash one. My previous phone was a Xperia X8, you just had to unlock BL, flash kernel and flash rom. Here, theres the SBF files , the nandroid stuff. Are you supposed to use both?
If anyone can recommend me a rom thats not MIUI(i need my drawer ok) or ICS, i would appreciated.
Anyway, i need to know the baseband to see if i can try the soft simunlock.
Here is my build number :4.5.2-51_DFL-50 whatever it means.
ps: i already made a backup with cwm of the stock rom and also rooted my phone.
To flash a sbf you have to download RSD Lite and drivers, here u have the steps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966537. Then, install the rom u like from recovery. Here u have all Epsylon and Quarx ICS nightlys (ICS, CM9) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1432100. With Defy+ use gb Kernel.
I just have some questions regarding the kernels. If i install the ICS roms and then i want to go back, which kernel i need to flash to be able to restore my phone using the nandroid backup i made.

None, because when you are doing full backup a copy of a kernel is included.
Then im going to update CWM, make a new backup just in case and start to play a around a bit.
Thanks for the help ^^
ps: is there anything wrong with 2.3.5? just asking because i hardly see any posts related to this android version

2.3.5 is perfectly fine! It's what I use as a base for both CM7.2 and CM9 builds for Gingerbread and it's great! It's rootable and you can even flash down to Froyo if you wish so, there's a special version 6 Froyo sbf in the forums.
If you have any doubts or if anything confuses you, please do ask before trying, that will save you both time and nerves
Full 2.3.5 sbf that I use: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umt...22_A022_M002_HWp3_WIG148094_Service1FF.sbf.gz
*EDIT* Just read the whole first post You can use Quarx's CM7.2 and CM9 defy+ nightlies on your phone without flashing anything else but the ROM zip and gapps zip (optional, as you know). Both available here - http://quarx2k.ru/
i have one more question regard the defy+,
If i flash the cm7.2 or cm9 builds by Quarx and want to go back, i just need to restore the backup i made with cwm right? or do i really need to get the sbf from my carrier?
is there any difference(flashing a sbf or restoring form nandroid. Not in procedure but in the final result)?

Yep restoring the backup will suffice but if you want to get back your warranty you need to uninstall CWM and any other root apps and unroot your phone. That won't leave any trace of root.
Following are some main differences in flashing nandroid and SBF:
1.) Nandroid backup restores your phone to exact state as it was during backup. SBF gives you back exactly how your phone was when you purchased it. Thus, you still have root and CWM after nandroid whereas your phone is clean as new after SBF(recomended to claim warranty).
2.) SBF flashes almost everything except data partition! Nandroid flashes even the data partition..
Thanks for the help, ill use nandroid until i get back. Besides cwm is easy to remove.
^^
I have a question, I have a stock defy (Bayer, according logcat)..
The android version that it has is 2.2.1 and build version is 3.4.2-107_JDNL-9..
Once I root it and install CWM, can I just flash any rom, like the one you link above or I need to use RSD lite for something before?
I'm sorry for the noob questions but never had a motorola before, always nexus line which has unlocked bootloader..

Yep once you have CWM you can go on with flashing ROMs with ease. You need RSD lite and SBBF only if you soft brick your phone(Very hard!) or want to go back to stock to claim warranty.
Thank you for your help

I also want to root my Defy+ but I m having some doubts and questions -
Will I be able to revert back to(flash) Stock SBF? I do possess the stock SBF of my region.
Although I am sure it won't but, will the bootloader and stock recovery be affected? And if yes how I am going to COMPLETELY revert back?
Success! Now rooted and running cm9
As for returning it to standard I can't confirm, but once you go. Cm you don't want to go back

- To claim your warranty or to revert any mishap, you HAVE to.

- Build Number 4.5.1-134_DFP-231; Same as the SBFs provided and Sys. ver. is 45.0.2310.MB526.AsiaRetail.en.03(you know, Indian Defy+, assuming they all have same numbers/versions).
What about the BL or recovery, will they affected?

You have a BL7 device.
Don't worry 'bout anything, just go with the modding & whenever you want to revert just flash your stock SBF and your phone will be just as you bought it including recovery and BL.

[Q] change rom??? possible?

hello,
recently i've made a restore of a system in my defy and then the phone went to black screen and bootloop and what ever, then i've tried to flash all the sbf that possible untiill i've installed one that my phone is worked with:
its details:
system details:
45.0.2311.MB526.O2.en.DE
android:
2.3.6
baseband :
EPU93_00.60.03
kernel:
2.3.32.9-ge2281b6e
[email protected] # 1
build:

as i remember this is a defy+ SBF FILE
and my phone i think is a regular defy
but all the regular defy roms does not work!!!!!
now my question is how can i root my phone or which sbf i can flash to fix this?
this is 4.5.1-134_DFP-2311 O2 Edition Original ROM

if u got bootloop after SBF you need to Wipe Dalvik, Cache and Data in stock recovery...

i've already flashed it..
because my phone had problems with other SBF..
so now i want to change it to another SBF with i can make a root and install CM7. or something
Unfortunately for you... You have flashed a BL7 sbf meaning you can't not downgrade to froyo and you can't install any other SBF with a Bootloader version lower than 7
The only work to root is through this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1542956
More info on BL version here --- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966537

You can't directly flash a older sbf like before you can all flash BL7 sbfs but I think you can go back to an older rom/sbf by flashing a fixed sbf or restoring a nandroid backup but am not 100% on that....
I had this problem myself. My thread is here and my solution post is here.
Good luck
