How to tell if I'm completely stock? - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I rooted with s off. Not ultimate s off. I did a nandroid once I rooted. I removed bloatware after that.
So now I have decided to go back to non rooted stock. I restored my nandroid which also reinstalled all my apps. I fastboot flashed stock post recovery image via fastboot.
I'm now non rooted with s on. How can I tell if I'm completely stock? I want to be able to receive otas once they come out......

You can copy the backup to your computer, but you can go back to it just using Clockwork. No need to use Odin unless you REALLY mess us.

[Q] SBF and Boot Loader

So I bought a Droid X recently and rooted it using the z4root app. My next step would be to install Clockwork Recovery so I can backup my phone and start getting rid of some of the bloatware. My question is, if something happens to the phone and I need to send it in for replacement/repair. Does flashing the stock SBF completely restore the phone to factory original? Including the replacement of the Clockwork recovery with the stock bootloader.
Forgive me if this has been answered already, I wasn't able to find anything with the search function.
In my experience, yes. You will have to re-root and reinstall clockwork.
You will need koush (spelling) boot strap app as well

Did you install CWM and make a back-up when you rooted? If you did just restore your back-up and ODIN the stock recovery. BUT, you should have CWM if you want to be rooted.
If you didn't make a back-up, you will have to wait for someone to post the the EA28 rooted rom or you could install a DL09 rom, they are the same with the exception of the lockscreen 911 fix.

[Q] So..I have a problem with going back to my factory rom

I need to make a warranty exchange, but if I send my phone in, and they see its rooted, Im going to get an out of warranty fee.
Its not letting me recover to my back up. Im completely lost as to what to do. I need to make it look like Ive never rooted my phone at all
You don't really expect to get much help with so little information, do you? What recovery and ROM do you have installed? How are you trying to go back to stock, a nandroid backup?
Sorry. Guess thats kind of important. lol
Recovery: 3.0.0.5
themed ice glacier 1.1.4
And form what the person who rooted my phone told me, that I now cant get a hold of, I just install from backup that he had originally made, when he flashed the rom. Sorry. I know Im a noob. Been extremely busy to actually learn. Go figure the guy whos been helping me, hasnt been answering his phone
CWM 3.0.0.5 can only flash Gingerbread ROMs, and the stock image you're trying to restore is a Froyo ROM. All you need to do is switch to CWM 3.0.0.6 and you can successfully revert back to stock.
1. Go here to install this CWM version, which will allow you to flash 3.0.0.6 and older CWM, which you need to go back to stock nandroid restore (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944681).
2. Go here for how to restore stock nandroid (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=845756). Make sure you flash older CWM recovery when restoring stock nandroid. After restoring, you can follow thread and instructions to turn S-on again.

You do not need to use any recovery other than 3.0.0.6 to restore the stock nandroid image.
Awesome. Thanks man. Time to go bleed magenta. Hahaha

Flashing Stock recovery

i have CWM flashed on to my NS4g.I created a stock nandroid. When i flashed the stock nandroid CWM did asked me about flashing recovery and then did the reverse psych thing it does (thousand no's one yes.) Anyway I apparently clicked the wrong one and am stuck with CWM. I tried loading another nandroid, then reloading the stock and i didn't even get the option. So know i'm wondering how to get stock recovery back.
You would get a quicker reply in the general section.
