hi htc people, after several htc models finally i got HTC HD7. lot of new things and bad or good impressions about the phone. about them some other time. i have question for all user of the HTC HD7 and it is related to internal memory. On the htc UK site they advertise the phone with 16GB of memory. when i looked in settings of my phone i discovered that i have only 8GB. what is the catch? is ther two versions of the phone or what?
First of all: You're in the wrong forum.
This is for the HTC Trophy.
There is a dedicated forum for HD7.
Secondly: As far as I know, there are two versions for HTC HD7. One with 8GB and one with 16GB. (I think 16GB is mainly sold in the US).
Did you get your phone in the UK (bought it at a carrier) ?
The Info on the Webpage could be wrong too. (f.e.: 8GB AND 16GB Versions are sold in the UK, only 8GB Versions are sold in the UK, only 16GB Versions are sold in the UK (you then didn't get the right one )
Hope that helps.

Can anyone please confirm whether Samsung is currently selling the galaxy S with 8gb memory version or not.
The 16gb version is out but haven't found about 8gb,if anyone can comment?
Any country in particular or you just asking in general? In Denmark, they're only selling the 8GB version, as Samsung thinks the 16GB would be too expensive, which is BS.
Regards
i'm in the opposite boat, here they sell the 8 GB by the masses
but the 16 GB is very hard to find, not enough stock
When I got my Galaxy S I didn't even realise they did two sizes. Mine is 8gb from the UK
Mine is 16gb from the S'pore
In the UK the 16gb version is exclusive to Vodaphone, all other versions I've seen including mine is 8gb

Fair point, I probably worded it badly. The only mobile phone network in the UK selling the 16gb version is (or was) Vodaphone
http://www.mobileoffers.co.uk/news/vodafone-gets-exclusive-on-samsung-galaxy-s-16gb-19776444/
Here in India, they're selling only the 16GB version.
Here in Portugal we have 8GB as exclusive of one carrier and 16GB as exclusive of a set of stores which is sold unlocked...
i work for best buy in the US and we only have the 8gb model never seen the 16bg model but the 8gb model has 8gb internal and 8gb external out of the box.

LOL that sounds like those ebay shops that advertises them as 16GB (but it's only an 8 + 8) to get people to buy their 8GB stocks

Many carriers where you buy with a contract you can only find the 16GB, if you look for an unlocked device without a contract you should be able to find 8GB if that's what you're looking for.
that will be really weird, usually people will want more, not less

Same situation in Italy.

Unfortunately it states there is 8GB / 16GB storage which is not removable.
Looks like if there is an SD socket it won't be accessible without voiding the warranty, difficult to say for sure...
Mind you, I suspect they're not allowed to mention SD slots "officially" anyway. I'm still hoping the base model is 8GB of on-board NAND and the 16GB model has an 8GB card in the slot as well.
16GB is enough for me. Just as long as it's not 8GB, I'm happy.
Yeah me too. 16 Is good. I am more upset it isn't available for order.
Also interesting is it list 900/1700/2100 bands. So no European specific models? I hope thats what that means

No you don't get it. This is the USA website so it will show you a model that WILL WORK IN THE USA.
It just so happens that the bands are also supposed in Europe (900/2100).
Europe models however do not have the 1700 band.
So there are European specific models out there (just checkout clove UK and expansys UK).
Australia also a model that is 1900/2100.

I am aware of that. What I am wondering if expansys is wrong info and there is only one model that covers all. Nokia does it. This is the official website posting not 3rd party like expansys. Get it
Is there a dell/uk? What do they list
This is (possibly) terrible news.
But, you could interpret it to say it contains 8 or 16GB of Non-Removable storage, leaving the microSD slot free for expansion.
If you look at the official Samsung website for the focus, there is no mention of the microSD slot. All it says is: "8GB ROM On Board Memory". I hope that this is the same situation.
No, the worst news has been confirmed.
This guy bought one:

My order is getting cancelled. I'd be better off with an Omnia 7, as it'll work better in daylight. Unfortunately it means I've lost at least 2 weeks of having a decent phone for nothing. As much as I like the look and the keyboard, the big number 1 reason I ordered it was the microSD slot. Without that, I can't justify the massive upfront hit of the SIM free price over the contract-subsidised price of another handset.
I'm rather irritated right now.
Still can't find out any info officially (contacted dell uk and they have no clue)
On the clove website I see the below.
8GB Memory
Expansion Slot Yes
Type MicroSDHC
Capacity (Up to) 32GB
I am sure in a few days time it will all be confirmed by someone.

If the build is like all other phones, the microsd should be behind that cover. We probably won't find out until someone daring enough is willing to open up the back and take a look. Compared to the HD7, it looks like only a screw is holding it in place.

This is the whole problem with this phone. Dell doesn't even list full specs on this phone. Even the official page just lists only some specifics. But from what I read and seen, the UK or unlocked version seem only to have 8GB.
it's 8 GB >.> why do you guys need more so badly.
I'd be satisfied with that.
I have my 32 GB Zune HD that I am fully satisfied with continuing to use for music and video. I love my Zune.

I have 11GB of music. Therefore an 8GB phone is not enough. I'm sure many people have much more music.
You might say I don't need all my music on my phone, but that argument will fall down the moment I think "I've not listened to that track in a while... and I still can't because it's not on my phone". It also falls over when I've copied my 6GB of music I really want to carry around with me, and then I fancy taking a film or tv show with me, but I can't because I have no storage space left.
You might say use Skydrive, but with most networks here capping monthly data at 500MB, that'll get used up pretty quickly, particularly if video is required. Zune Pass has this issue too, coupled with the fact that most of my music is soundtracks and rather obscure stuff, none of which is available on Zune (I've looked).
Ill be satisfied if there is a 16GB version as appears there is on Dell's website. It was either 8Gb with accessible micro-SD expansion, or 16Gb without it. I can live with 16Gb. I have a 32GB zune im nowhere near halfway through. 8Gb was just way too little though.
No SD card kind of sucks, but it's all good. I'm sure someone will find out where the sd card is hiding. Unless it's onboard? If it's NAND, then I'd prefer 16gb of that vs an sd card slot, to be honest.
I emailed clove yesterday and got this response a few minutes ago:
We have checked with our supplier of the Dell Venue Pro and they have confirmed that the early demonstration models they have seen did feature a microSD slot. Due to this we would assume at this time that the Dell Venue Pro does feature a microSD slot.

Not sure what to make of this.
That says to me that they have no more of a clue than any of us at this point!
Some people who have purchased the Venue Pro are saying they can't find the SD card slot, certainly not in the battery compartment, but others hold out hope that it is there underneath a cover and is reasonably easily accessible.
I hope we find out for sure by the 16th because I may have to reconsider the purchase if it turns out the SD card slot really isn't there or it's too embedded to get at without voiding the warranty.
8GB is not enough - my HD2 has a 16GB card and that has zero free space, in fact I was looking forward to doubling up to 32GB so I could put a bit more of my mp3 collection onto the phone.
Keep your eyes peeled for real evidence one way or the other...

it honestly boils down to keyboard and amoled (venue pro) vs no keyboard and no amoled with higher price tag outright (hd7)
I like wp7, it took a lot for me to get used to it granted but it is "enjoyable"
That said a keyboard would enhance my experience
Hey guys,
I've just ordered my 8gb omnia 7 and I'm genuinely still concerned about if 8gb will be enough.
I currently own a featurephone with a 2gb sd card, which i constantly have to swap out my music on. I carry around a pocketpc with another 2gb for video which again I have to swap.
So i'm wondering how everyone is coping with the 8gb issue... Living outside of the US meants no zune pass either. Given the restrictions on apps with Isolated storage, I can't even write something to swap files with my server while on the go :S.
I tried a few 8GB models at first, but very soon realized it just wasn't enough (Just like I had imagined, but figured I'd give it a go anyway as everyone was praising the cloud integration). After about a week the 8GB (more like 6.5GB as a bunch is reserved/used from the factory) was full and I had to start removing stuff.
The Omnia is perfect in every way apart from the 8GB memory issue. I have since ordered a 16GB version, but I would have preferred an additional SD slot (like on the Focus) for future needs.
So, if I were you I would cancel the 8GB model and order a 16GB handset from Germany. If you're buying it off-contract you may even save a few bob.
Hey emigrating, thanks for the reply.
Well, The problem is that every german version I've found is atleast 100euros more expensive than the 8gb version. (i ordered it for 500). So I'm not sure I want to spend that amount..
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/genuin...card-with-sd-card-adapter-16gb-class-10-54349
was there a question about this memory card? personally I got one off ebay..a 8gb class 10 for under $15 which i tested to be true 8gb/class 10. there are some out there that has a memory hack which will show lets say 8gb when indeed its only 4 or 5. anyway i'm getting rather off subject because this post should really be in HD2 Accessories threads.
i know you listed a 16gb but i've still seen them listed on ebay for around $30-$35. if your patient you can snipe them & get them even cheaper.
You could find a cheaper one on amazon
btw it looks like a fake one to me .
UPDATE: Seller just got back to me saying he made a mistake in posting. He has SGS2 and not SGN. So there is no 32gb Note.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello Folks,
I've seen one post on eBay (here), they are saying they have 32 gb version of SGN. He also mentioned that its not unlocked?
Do you think its legit? Is the 32gb version already out, somehow? And how is it that's its locked?
Any one has some info about this?
Thank you,
Strange auction since it's the wrong picture and no actual information about the phone, just some generic product descriptions for both the Note and SGII,
I'd not bid until I get some answers first. Such as does he have the phone in stock, if so why is there not a correct picture of the phone or the package? Where did the phone came from, Asia, Europe? Is there a receipt with it? Does the phone have 32GB internal storage or is it come with 16GB micro sd card?
There are no 32GB Note released in europe yet, so it might come from Asia if the phone is legit.
I'd not bid on this personally, it is much cheaper to get a 16GB note and 32GB micro sd card, unless that is not enough storage for you.

That's bogus.!!!! Have you seen how much the bidding is up to? Those bidders can buy a SGS2 with lots of accessories and still have change for that amount.
As far as I know, there is no 32gb version of the SGS2 as well.
Oh boy!
Those bidder are bidding for I don't know what? :|
If I were you I wouldn't even try it. The description is clearly copied and pasted from galaxy SII which doesn't match the offer. I wouldn't risk it even if that was real deal because it could be a experimental version.
I have yet to see 32GB version of the note, besides I found buying 64GB sandisk micro sdxc card to be cheaper memory storage expansion than actually buying 32GB version of the note compared to 16GB one.
Isn't 80 GB enough for android phone anymore?
The issue is that ebay's Stock descriptions for the Galaxy Note List it as a 32GB phone. I have seen more then a few listing's where the description apologized for the mix up on ebay's specs and states the phone was the 16GB variety.
Some idiot just spent $705.00 on this GS2 listed as a Galaxy Note 32GB.
