Hi XDA people,
I need some help over this. Not sure if I am correct.
I wish to use XXJPY PDA, DXJPA Modem and OLBJPA CSC. Is it possible?
And do i need to tick re-partition when using the setting below?
PIT: 512
PDA: CODE_I9000XXJPY
PHONE: MODEM_I9000DXJPA
CSC: CSC_I9000OLBJPA
Previously, I'm using 513 pit. pda, phone and csc is xxjpa.

not working. stuck at galaxy s logo.
i have boot into recovery to wipe data/reset and clear cache.
You cannot use original csc from 2.2 on 2.2.1. But you can use deodexed swype.apk and libSwypeCore.so from 2.2 to get swype for your language. Just remember to delete the Swype.odex from 2.2.1

XXJPY is just a update u can only flash it without ticking repartetion option in odin on a working rom
HELP! I think bricked my phone!
I tried this simple method for lag fixing my Galaxy S (stock 2.2.1 xxjpy) using Odin 1.3.
I flashed with only the PDA file, odin responded that there was no PIT file.
So this noob used 512 PIT file and now my phone will only acces download mode. With normal startup i get small a phone-pc logo and thats it.
"Now, other options like Re-partition and keep the PIT should be unchecked and should be kept blank as it is."
I cant find the 'keep the pit' option in Odin.
Does anyone know if and how i can save my phone?
Odin flash a stock rom .

i am asking this question bcoz i have flashed the official froyo for asia dxjpa
and the flashing way via odin was different cozz pit file 513 is used for flashing it.
so i wanted to know the right flashing way for ddjp6 froyo .. via odin
i downloaded the firmware ddjp6.. and it contains only one .tar file
so i just wanted to know the perfect flashing method
please dont advise me to do it through kies...
thanx
You can flash DDJP6 via odin the same way you flashed DXJPA without using any .pit file and it will work. As I have also flashed the other asian versions without using any .pit file (no .pit file recommended for firmwares with only one file on sam firmwares).
So How does the pit file affect anything ? I flashed DDJP6 with the .803 pit file. I take it that shouldn't be an issue ? Also, is the boot Galaxy "S" animation from the pit file ? I don't like the one I got from the asian froyo with the disjoint s... Does the Indian froyo have that too, or the one from eclair ?

Not sure about what exactly .pit file does but had a problem installing DXJPA earlier with .803pit (failed to flash) then tried with .513 and worked well.
haven't noticed the boot animation.
Did u move from 2.1 or unofficial 2.2?
i have a question..
if there is one tar file, should i put the file in just pda or PDA,PHONE AND CSc and then flash?
PDA for single tar file

Check my signature if you want PDA MODEM & CSC seperately for DDJP6.
You can also try to use XXJPY PDA, JP6 MOEDEM & CSC.

I clarification after flashing with Odin will all the setting & data reset to factory.
Or will all the personal data, Games, applications will remain.
One more thing if the Re-Partation in Unchecked (Not selected). Will the Odin keep my data as it is on the phone or it will reset to factory settings.

i have already done that, but still the same.....i was trying to go bac to JMC or JMD and I'm facing with the same problem (stuck in loop recovery). If I don't restart in recovery manually, to finalize the installation of CSC, and I do restart after flashing of JMD it will work but nu CSC and no PDA (*#1234#)
after rebooting in recovery mode, I got this message:
--Appling Muti-CSC...
INstalling Muti CSC
multicsc : src /system/csc/KOR/system/ .
can someone help me?
I reflash more than 10 times and same result. even if i tried to go back to JMC or JMA, it doesn't help me..... also I tried to flash DbData .....but it not help....

May be worth just flashing the cache.rfs file when in Download mode using heimdall or Odin. That will push the file onto the device, reboot it into recovery mode and then flash the csc files. Looks like it's getting stuck on that part? See this post for more info.

first link seems to be broken...is same thing to the second one?
problem solved! for other users whom will face the same problem I will explain my solution: In order to flash the JMD over JMC or JMA you should use P1.PITfile from here (check in the bottom of the page the download link), then open Odin 1.7, select Re-partition and add PIT file (P1_add_hidden.pit), then add to PDA the JMD file, then click on START. After finish installation it will restart in Download mode again; Switch off the restart in Recovery Mode. It will finalize the installation of CSC and PDA. look at my results !
Good news! Glad you got it fixed.

Follow this guide, i did... its what you want.
samsunggalaxysforums.com/showthread.php/2770-How-to-use-Odin-to-Flash-JPO-firmware-if-you-used-the-Kies-registry-hack-to-get-JPM
flashing with odin will make it stock.
what you need to do is
flash the pit file with re-partition selected.
then once that has done flash the other 3 files with re-partition un selected.
I just used kies with the registry patcher, then used CSC selector from the market and everything was sorted.
i Have downloaded the file I9003DDKB2.rar and extracted it and got I9003DXKB2-I9003DXKB2-I9003DDKB2_HOME inside of the folder.. How can i flash my i9003 when there is only one file and none of it even states that it is a PDA,PHONE or CSC fileso be patient wit me.. how to flash ..any one could help me...
Just select the pit file as normal but remember to uncheck repartition box and flash , then reboot in download mode and put the ddkb2 single file in the PDA slot and flash
Press Thanks if it helps you!!!
dont do this foolishness by selecting the pit file..
directly choose the PDA file .
andperform a hard reset after flashing..
ur done....
But don't u need a pit even for flashing a single file package?

No... You don't need a pit file when flashing binary as a single file.
Select the tar as pda and flash it.

The PIT file is to repartition the phone for a clean wipe. When upgrading you need only the PDA file, Considering it falls under the same OS version
I need a PDA,PHONE and CSC file for I9003DDKB2 because in my i9003 I have already installed I9003XXKP9.So I want to change it back to my orignal I9003DDKB2 in my mobile.
So anbody who has the file please upload it.
Problem that I am facing in the I9003XXKP9 is the camera is not working, is there any way I can rectify the problem and retain the I9003XXKP9 in my mobile. Then may be I wont need the files for I9003DDKB2.
Thanks in advance
Flash to xxkb3 following krazy's guide and then flash to ddkb2 without using the pit file...put your file in pda and flash

Hey, I tried flashing JW4 stock rom via ODIN which I downloaded from sammobile.
The name of the file is I9000XXJW4_I9000OXAJW4_XEU.zip and on extracting there were 2 files called JW4_JW4_JW4.tar & SS_DL.dll. I selected the tar file in PDA and flashed. The process passed but am stuck with bootloop. Plz help
I also flashed a jw4. But that was without the dll.
Anyway, after i flashed and it booted up i got a doozen errors telling me it couldnt mount different partitions.
So i gave it up as a bad one and found a thread here at xda with different stock roms and ended up with jw5.
No complications whatsoever. Yet
just google for "stock roms i9000 xda" and you should stumble over the thread i believe.
Good luck

I faced exactly the same problem: bootloop after flashing XXJW4 and many mount errors in the screen. I concluded that this firmware is not standalone in the sense that you cannot flash and repartition the device using it. Following this logic I performed these steps, leading me to a successfully recovered and fully functional XXJW4 phone:
Flash it with a full stock firmware, e.g. XXJVU (mark "repartition" as well).
Flash XXJW4 as you have done it, but make sure "Repartition" is not selected. That is, just select the tar file in the PDA field and leave the rest with the default options.
Another huge problem Got Black Screen Of Death. Am able to get my phone on to download mode but odin is not detecting my phone. HELP ME What to do?

Use another USB port. You can flash deodex version of JW4 which doesn't have any problems
bootloops
Factory Reset / Cache Wipe /
use by the Pitfile from JW 1 and flash the JW 4 ,that`s it !!

Your PDA file might be missing the dbdata.rfs file, see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24182099&highlight=dbdata#post24182099, which can cause boot loops.
