have you flashed a DJ05 ROM? Sounds like you haven't. You definitely need to have one if you are going to be using the DJ05 firmware.

I have flashed two roms the in in the instructions for going to dj05 and super clean dj05 both with same results

Would I need to just flash back to stock and try again.??

Remove Clockwork?

OK I've looked many places found different answers some do not work and yes I know I can flash all the improved Tom's etc.
Just wondering I rooted with z4root and flashed cwm with Odin then through rom manager and stayed stock otherwise; is there a way to hide or remove cement to get to ota?

Afaik, you'll have to flash the stock recovery and possibly the stock kernel through Odin. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

MF9 and AOSP roms

I just tried to flash a couple AOSP roms (CM & Pac) for the first time since updating to MF9, and the roms won't flash. I get an "assert failed" error and some verbiage about the build.prop not showing jfltespr, which is not the case (I'm using TWRP, by the way). I'm assuming that this has something to do with the new MF9 bootloader, correct? Is there any way around this without going back to MDL? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[Q] Can't run custom rom

Alright ive kinda hit a wall im not sure what i can do i can't seem to get my s4 to flash to any custom roms. just picked it up it came with the latest MF9, ive followed the instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2257101 to get root access and to install twrp. i can get it all to install just fine and have verified that i have root access. but once i flash a custom rom ie. CM 10.1 or even Slim mod either through goomanager it will say it installs successfully but once it reboots the new rom splash screen shows up and just sits there forever spinning and it never goes any further.
ive even restored my device to factory and unrooted the device and im still unable to get any roms to load up. am i missing anything that someone might be able to point out
heres the steps ive tried or gone thru
1. CF-autoroot via odin
2. install Twrp or CWM either thru odin or their manager aps
3. copy rom and gapps to sd card
4. boot to recovery and try to install
5. get stuck at splash screen!!!!
You probably need to install a compatible kernel. If the Rom doesn't include one that's the problem.

If you want a good aosp rom try this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43120823 it is very stable and awsome except there aren't much customization options update your recovery first then wipe data, system, and cache then flash the rom. Use this as a backup rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2357471

SHOstock update 2.2 error

I don't have the privileges to post this on the SHOStock thread so I had to post it here and hope I get the answer I need. I browsed and searched that thread to no avail.
I installed ShoStock 2.0 via TWRP without any issues but as soon as I install the 2.2 update I get stuck at the Samsung splash screen. I've done it a few times and just can't get the update to run. I've tried fixing permissions and from a factory reset and full wipe.
I have the AT&T S4 i337. Thanks
are you wiping everything before you flash the 2.2 update? you should just dirty flash the update over 2.0. the only thing you wipe is cache & dalvik first.
if thats what you're doing, i suggest re-downloading the update and flashing over 2.0 again.
Also, are you flashing a loki'd kernel after flashing the update?
It does seem like you just got a bad download, though. Try a new download.

2.2 is just as it says, an update. It does NOT have all the same files in it. 1. Make sure to download it and check the MD5 of of the 2.0 Comolete rom and the MD5 of the 2.2 update. Once you have confirmed that then flash 2.0 in recovery, let it boit up completely. Then go back into recovery and WITHOUT wiping ANYTHING flash the 2.2 update.

I am trying a new download now, I don't know how I'd get a bad download though. I don't know what a loki'd kernel is... :/
Bad downloads happen.

Android is upgrading and then bootloop...

I recently upgraded my ROM to the latest version. Wiped the cache and davlik, flashed the new rom and then flashed GAPPS. The rom boots and shows Android is Upgrading but after a few seconds, it reboots again and goes through Android is Upgrading again and restarts prematurely.
Also tried only flashing the rom without gapps but I am getting the same issue.
Did you wipe data or was it a dirty flash.

It was a dirty flash. Then since it failed, cleared data and system and flashed but still no dice. Flashed the latest Cm nightly and it worked. Been using it since. Might be a problem with the rom. One other person had a similar problem though there are some people who used the same zip but didn't face any troubles. Looks like Cm for now

Yea I know it sounds weird but not all phones are created equally. I had 2 galaxy s3's, one Rom would work on one and not the other. It's definitely strange.

Apparently, it's a recovery issue. I'm on CWM. People who have flashed it successfully are on TWRP. Will give it a shot over the weekend.
Sent from my LG-D802 using xda premium
The problem was indeed CWM. Flashed fine with TWRP.
