After some day of using I've noticed that some areas of the glass seemed to get dirty more than other and always with the same shapes.
If you clean the glass they almost disappear, to return back when you touch the screen.
Someone sayd that can be a problem of the oilophobic protection that doesn't work fine in all the glass, does anyone know anything about?

Might be the anti-fingerprint coating rubbing off. I've read of that happening to people.
The oleophobic coating does wear off - some sooner than others.. Same issues as the iphone 3GS and 4
Best idea is just to clean it, get a screen protector, and be done with it
I had that problem like 3-4 days after getting my device, they where not in the same area like yours , but I went to Best Buy and got it replaced.
That happened to mines too, I was wondering what the hell it might be. I had my spots in all four corners of the display.
The general consensus, to my knowledge, is just that the oleophobic coating used to help prevent finger oils from smudging the screen is just plain ****ty and has a tendancy to wear off rather quickly.

mines messed up to. I just try not to think about it.
One tip, don't apply any pressure when wiping your phone... it will mess up the coating easily, and then that spot will always show up when you get finger oils on it.
is this issue covered under the warranty?
I woke up today to find this rub mark on my galaxy tab 7.7, it stretches from one side of the glass to almost the other! When i rub it with a cloth it goes away, but then it comes back in about 30mins. Does anyone know how to get rid of this or do I have to return my product. Its not the screen as the picture will indicate the mark covers the top right side of the bezel.

I do not know if I am helping but is there a screen protector on your tab? If there is, it might be your screen protector's problem. Hopefully this helps.
No screen protector
Picture isn't very clear or big.
Samsung tablets have been prone to "oil slick" problems, which are a manufacturer's defect.

[update] again, let me reiterate: when i wipe down the marks they go away, but in time they return
Seems to be an issue with the glass (or better the manufacturing) as it also goes under the bezel. I would return it for guarantee.
try cleaning it with a mild soapy water if not have it replaced.
Yea it looks like the glass is detaching from the panel only in that area. Either the adhesive there isn't enough to hold it down or there could be a curvature in that area causing it to lift up. When you press it down the adhesive takes for a bit but eventually detaches again. Either way that's a manufacturing defect so you should definitely return it. It could eventually spread to the rest of the screen in time as it weakens the adhesive around the affected area.
yes you are right, I woke up this morning and what did I find but more lines, I called expansys.co.kr and they initially told me I would have to pay a fee for the lcd to be fixed, but since I told the rep its more a problem with the glass the rep told me she would get back to me later today about this issue.

If you look at a breakdown of the Tab 7.7 the battery is located on thats side. I had a problem once with my iphone that when it heated up the screen protector strated to warp with the heat. On cooldown and a wipe it would appear better.
This looks very similar to what I experienced it may be worth trying a different brand incase the glue used reacts more than normal to heat.
Also the treatment used on the screen is designed to resist fingerprints so it may also prevent the glue from adhering.
I use screen cleaner on my screen before fitting screen protectors. It may help.
I have my nexus 4 now for about a month, and I noticed that, starting from the top left edge of the front face the oleophobic coating looks like to wear off, it is noticeable because the fingerprints are much more visible in that spot!

I find my screen gets 'sticky' after a few minutes use, where my finger no longer slides with ease.
But as far as finger prints my whole screen is permantly covered in them lol.
I just opened a thread in Q&A about this very thing. Mine's the same way. Was wondering if anybody has tried to use after-market coating sprays as a viable solution to this kind of thing. I've noticed that other phones in the past have had this problem too, so somebody here should have seen it before.
I've never used a coating spray but I highly recommend iKlear for cleaning. They claim it doesn't damage coatings, but it is a bit pricy. (Like all screen cleaners)

A month on and mine is still slick but if I could tell the coating was giving out I would call google.
Yep I am definitely experiencing this at the top left and slightly at the bottom right. The glass is still slick it more that they look like blemishes. Not sure what I should do really...

I was very close to buying this for my galaxy nexus but then i got the nexus 4, i wish some one would review it
Is this what you guys are seeing? I started noticing this a day or two ago, but I have no idea what it is. Is it the coating wearing off or is it a defect in the glass/screen itself?

Yes that's it, at first glance it looks like it could just be a few finger prints but if you keep wiping, it doesn't go away. It looks like it's below the screen, but obviously it's not because it wasn't there before.

Yeah exactly. If the screen is clean then it doesn't look like it's there, but once there's dirt/oil again, then the blemishes come back. If it was the coating, wouldn't the glass feel different? Because my glass still feels really smooth all over, including that spot.
Sadly my glass feels really rough in the middle... Stupid coating! You can see the damage pretty well if you wipe a wet cloth over the screen. Will probably post a picture soonish
Has anyone tried to RMA their phone because of this? I've just discovered a ~1" x 1/8" streak right in the middle of my screen that just collects oil. No matter how well I clean it up with a microfiber and a dab of water it reappears once I use the screen again. I noticed when wiping the screen with the microfiber cloth it seems that the friction is higher in that patch.

Strong bump. I've got a similar issue on my 5 days old Lumia 920, around the earpiece to be more more precise. I don't really care much about it because it's not on the screen so I don't know wether I should get it replaced or not.

aren't the smears not supposed to happen if it's oleophobic? I guess I'm wondering why I'm always having to wipe my screen off when I've only had this phone for like a month..
I used that lame screen protector that comes with my nexus 4 for a couple of weeks. After getting fed up with it I removed it. A couple of hours later I found a scratch on my nexus 4. I tought that the gorrila glass was just bull****. I also found out that if I rub the scratch with micro fiber it completely disapears. Maybe it was already scratched and I didnt notice it because of the screen protector? A month later and no other scratch has appeared. Seams weird to scratch the screen in a few minutes after removing the protector but 1 month later no other scratch has appeared. Also my corners (specially the top left) is getting some heavy wear. Has anyone RMA their phone because of this disapearing oleophobic layer?

Possible manufacturing defect
I've had my Nexus 4 (new design with the nub on back) for about a month and in the upper left corner also what appeared to be a smudge, and after some alcohol wiping and delicate cleaning is still there It shows up more when there are finger oils than when clean. I've owned many other smartphones before and this hasn't happened, I keep it in jeans pocket with nothing else, so the only thing it could've been rubbing against was cotton. I think either LG made the coating too thin or of a material that weakens easily maybe when in contact with some acids (like fingers that have just peeled an orange).
Really sad to see this, my older & cheaper LG Optimus S & LG G2x didn't have this problem.
Anyone tried Rainx? I have used it in the past and it works pretty well. Needs reapplication occasionally.

Hello everyone. I've been using my S4 for quite some time now, almost a year. I always kept in its protective case and had a screen protector from day one. Never dropped it. Virtually no scratches on the screen protector. A few days ago I noticed something that looked a bit like cracks. I'm attaching some images, here's how I can describe them:
they're underneath the glass
there are no markings, scratches or anything on the surface of the glass or the screen protector in that area
the sensitivity of the digitizer has not been affected, nor has the display itself
they are advancing very slowly, the first day I noticed them the smaller ones were barely visible
they almost look like air pockets in the glue that keeps the display and digitizer together (?), cracks are not that wide i think
never buying a Samsung phone again
Is this a common/known issue ? I've seen and used tons of smart gadgets, but this is the first time I've encountered such issue.

yeah thats the adhesive between screen and the glass peeling off..
Not sure what to do here. I could try to _gently_ apply some heat (via a hair dryer), but I think I rather send it to an authorized service. It's still under warranty and it's not my fault so they should fix it for free. It's not that much of an issue now, but it will kill it's resell value later. One thing to learn out of all this : Samsung - never again. Sony and LG look so much better now.

the scratch ends that has accumulated plastic (white dot)

Once I'll get home, I'll try to snap a picture with the screen protector raised. I don't want to remove it because it was a pain installing it. It is underneath the protective glass, I didn't even give it a thought that today was April 1st.

Ok, that's the best I could, it's not really confortable holding the camera while I lift the screen protector while I try to keep it in focus. These screen protectors tend to build a lot of moisture underneath them, never expected that. Anyway, you can probably see, the problem is not a scratch on the screen protector.
My bad, proof enough! I feel sorry for you, never seen that one before.
If you now you haven't done anything wrong the blame is on Samsung. Maybe you should go with your initial thought about sending it in under warranty.
Itcould be they have seen cases like this and know about the problem. Fixing yourself seems risky. There are guides
changing the touchscreenglass on youtube.

Hey guys.
So yestreday I was using my phone with a light in the room. And I decided (since i now have the s7edge for about 3 weeks) to check unde4 light if there already are any microscratches
... and there are some although I take care of my phone like its a newborn baby. But its also only visible under light. So, the microscratches didnt really bother me... i noticed something else. Its like a stain or a smudge on the edge of the screen, on both edges actually... left and right... and they are not even the same, they are not symmetrical. At first i thought its just dirty but after rubbing it, it didn't go away.
So what I did was, I washed it under water (mind you, this was THE FIRST time I got my s7e under water).
I cleaned it good,wiped it good. But it is still there.
Then I went to google about this and found nothing... all i found, worth checking was some guy who said he had a gap between the FRAME and the SCREEN, and that he had sent it back to get that fixed (and it took samsung like 3 times to send him a good phone). So i checked that video and some people in the comments were reporting that the gap between screen and frame is so big that they can put a piece of paper under there. I of course tried it myself out of curiosity and ny phone also has the GAP between screen and frame. And after i washed it yestrday.... i noticed some water in between the edge and screen... inside that gap.
Now guys tell me those anyone else have that smudge or stain? Does anyone know what it is? (Remember it was there before I even got the phone wet for the first time)
And tell me does anyone else have the gap between screen and frame? And did anyone else notice a little water between screen and frame in that gap? Does it mean its not water and dust proof? I must say that I got it wet pretty good under tap water, but it is still working perfectly... i am just afraid now that there is a ways the water will get into that gap someday and ruin the phone. I really hope this is normal and its just how the phone is built and it is till waterproof and dust proof... but i water can get into that gap i do not know how it can be dust/water proof....

Oh and here are the pictures of the screen smudge/stain. I only took pictures of the left side of the phone screen. 4 pictures. 2 are original, other 2 have a marking so you can easily spot what we are looking at.
And you can maybe try to the gap between frame and screen,but i am not sure it will be possible,as i took that picture to show you the smudge,stain and not the gap.
Also I must say that this smudges are on both sides of the screen visible ONLY when the screen is turned of, or if you have a black wallpaper and if you dont pay attention to it you can hardly even notice it, even with black screen or turned of screen. Its the easiest to see under strong light.
is that the same place for the gap between the edge of the screen or thats for the cover section at the back of the phone.....
also ste you using a screen protector or that stain is directly on or inside your actual screen did u use a screen protector before or not at all

The gap between the screen and the frame is normal. Every phone has it, and I have it also, was multiple times in a swimming pool with the phone and it still works. About the smudge, I do not know, it seems like the oleophobic coating of your screen is weared off. Maybe send it back if it bothers you much?

Hi, I had the same problem, a while ago, with a Sony device. I thought it is water in the first, but I send it to Sony to be save, and they replaced the screen. It was a part of the screen, it peels off, and sticked on the screen-glass.
Nah its not really bothering me... but i dont know what it is and i got scared a little. Like i said it not really visible unles you tilt the phone and turn it under a light or sun.
I dont know how could the oleophobic coat wear off because the phone is 3 weeks old. Bought it three weeks ago, tottally new.
I dont use screen protector but i do have a spigen case.
So I guess its what Pufnasti said. The screen peeled off and stuck to the outer glass...
Pfunasti, should I send it back so they repair it?

I used my brand new Sony deVice only 2 days, and I get this problem. I would say, you should send it to Samsung. It's definitely a hardware problem, and it wasn't caused by you.
