My apologies if this has been covered, I couldn't find it.
When I had my Moment there were quite a few apps that we could remove, most of them seemed to have no functionality. Like brightness.apk, factory test, lcdtest, etc.
Do we have such a list yet?
Look for the wiki next time all the info for most of these questions are in there.
But here go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=773142

Oddly, I can't seem to find anything searching all over the place. I have it set to 50 tweets, but it seems to have ALL the ones downloaded since I got the phone.
Is there a setting I'm missing to kill the older ones? Anyone have a link to a discussion that I'm missing in my searches?
There is a thread, and mentioned elsewhere.
You have to do some deleting manually.

Thanks for the link - will have to see why it wasn't matching my search terms later.
Just thought I'd let you guys know that Listables works great on Xoom. I figure that most people have probably manually installed a lot of the apps on their phones using apks and since we can't nandroid yet, this would be a good way to keep a list of all the apps you currently have on your device. Just check off your apps in the list, email/dropbox/bluetooth as html file(w/ QR codes, links to market, etc.),xml, or plain text. It can do a few more things as well. Anyway, check it out!

Edit: Hmm...maybe this should have been put in the Themes and Apps subforum. Sorry about that!!
amazinglarry had posted a few items up here, and allegedly had them taken down and all mod comments point to finding the stuff on "HIS OWN WEBSITE" only problem is his profile doesnt have a website listed, and a google search doesn't work either...
and surprisingly... the mods lock up anything referencing him quickly... hopefully i can get an answer before an overzealous mod locks this up as well.
Yes I have read the stickied thread, but it isnt being maintained and i believe the list to be mainly applications. Services also run, so could people let me know which ones they have safely removed or blocked? And i will test and confirm the result, for my own reference and for others if they read.
Thanks guys

It still is up to date, 2.3.3 only added some more facebook stuff you can remove. Feel free to post it in THAT topic as that's what it's there for.
Services are mainly comming from apps to...
oh god another thread without even using the stickied one.. you can reply there
oh god
Just seems sensible for somebody to maintain it, im used to sticked threads being updated not with posts here there and everywhere but litrelly update/edits. So services are listed in that thread to? Looked like just apps to me
Apk files contain apps, widgets and services. That's why it makes sense to define safely removable APKs which, if erased, will be gone with their related apps, widgets and services.
Hello hello! Ive been reading up on the forums for about a year now (sorry for the leeching!), but it's my first time posting.
First I'd just like to introduce myself as a proud owner of an xperia play r800i (not yet rooted).
Here are my questions if anyone would be kind enough to answer:
1. Is there a way to show more than 8 apps in the Recent Apps list? (where you long hold the home button). Oh and without the use roms, apps, and other substitutes. Perhaps somewhere in the manifest?
2. Also how does one exclude certain applications and tasks from appearing on the Recent Apps list?
Hopefully I posted this in the right section, couldn't decide between the general section or development section, so apologies if I mis-posted.
You did well. Development section is a section you want to avoid in order to ask questions and so on. Ideally, only people who are bringing something to the table (ROMs, programs, kernels) should start threads there.
That said, there are third party Apps with more recent Apps to show. Launcher Pro allows a swipe function which shows the 16 most recent Apps, but you can't summon them from the Home button easily like the native function.
