Yes or No? I have remote controller and while it works good, it doesnt recognize the slide keyboard, idk if realvnc or uvnc will, but they're more universal and all my machines already have uvnc on them
Are you talking about a viewer/client or a server on your phone?
RealVNC's website says they have a WM viewer, but there don't seem to be any links to it and it appears to be a commercial product. I don't see any evidence that UltraVNC make a WM viewer.
There are a couple of fully workable free viewers around. Search for vnc-E4_2_7b4-arm_pocketpc_viewer or check out http://dotnetvnc.sourceforge.net/.

This version works fine. I've been using it for quite some while now.
awesome, and this supports the proprietary keyboard on the tp2? Its a serious pain in the ace having to pull up the char. map that this remote im using now needs
Got it running perfect, exactly what I was lookin for, thanks for the help guys
Police Scanner for Win Mo?
Ive seen it for both the droid and the (stupid POS) iphone, theres gotta be a scanner for windows mobile, anyone seen anything?
I've been making a couple posts about UltraVNC mobile over at their website, but I doubt any of the developers really have a Windows Mobile phone to mess around with it. I have the RealVNC one, pre-paid-app version. It seems to be the best. I wish UltraVNC did develop a mobile version because I can't view my secondary monitor on the VNC viewer I'm using now.
Also, just as a note, there are VNC servers out there for your phone so you can use a VNC viewer on your PC to control your phone, but I haven't found one that was always stable. This one seems to be the best bet, but now it's a paid-app.

i tried but i kept getting this error: unable to connect to host: connection timed out (10060)
i was able to connect from pc to pc but not wm to pc. host runs on Win 7 with Outpost firewall. I already allow it on my firewall and forwarded those ports on my router. if you or anyone knows the solution, please tell me. thx.
on your windows 7 pc run uvnc server, Not realvnc. It doesnt work idk why. set it up to recieve the user, pass, and to recieve remote input and then connect using wm realvnc. works on all my machines
I found this a while back it seems to work fine just unzip and copy over to your SD card then run the exe. I personally copied it to my programs folder then created a shortcut to in my start menu.

Hello,
Does anyone knows how to install Windows 7 on the HTC HD2?
I've seen it on You Tube
t seems to me that like Android it is possible to have Windows 7 running on a HTC HD2.
I'm very interested to have it running on mine HD2.
Would anyone help me with it?
Many thanks
that's remote desktop.
windows 7
why would you want to?
thats not remote desktop because in remote desktop you cant use it in letterbox orientation, and doesnt have any keyboard the movie its very buggy thats a sign of uncompatible graphic mode but if thats real its good to have it like ubuntu and android

There is landscape mode for remote desktop, you just have to flip it to landscape before you connect!
I can use the windows keyboard also.
Until WM7 is figured out it will be more locked down than WM6.5 meaning the opportunities to mod your phone to your liking with be less.
OK,
Thanks for your reply's
I wanted to use Windows 7 because I'll find it very easy to work with and I'm used to it
I tried a WAD-skin from Rajivshahi but the skin doesn't function very well on my device.
Perhaps I'm doing something wrong.
Maybe somebody knows something like Windows XP or Vista wich will work on the HTC HD2?
Are you serious?!?
Look at the specs needed to run Windows 7:
1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor.
1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit).
16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit).
DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver.
Sure, we do have a 1HGz CPU, it's even 32bit! But it's NOT x86 or x64, it's a RISC processor using the ARMv7 instruction set.
Unless someone gets a hold of the sourcecode for Windows 7 and recompiles it for the ARMv7 instruction set, it won't be possible!
Even IF someone got the sourcecode, there are many things that should be adapted before porting Windows 7 to a mobile device like the HD2.
Oh, and then there's the RAM issue..
Sure, the HD2 has A LOT OF RAM compared to other Windows Mobile devices.. ..but it's still far away from 1 GB.
Which brings us to the next item on the list; "storage space"
In order to have 16GB, we need to use the Memory Card.
Sadly, the transfer speeds to and from the memory card is not as good as the ROM.
I don't have the speed figures right here, so I guess I can't argue that memory card speed isn't possible.
But I am 100% sure you'd need at least Class 6. (Those 16GB Class 6 cards are cheap, right?)
And at the end of the list; DirectX 9 graphics.
Thanks to one or more XDA members, we are slowly but steadily getting better #D hardware drivers.
Though we are not WDDM 1.0 compliant yet.
Probably never will be, as the hardware just isn't good enough.
You'll be happy to know, though, that we are able to emulate enough Intel CPU power to run Windows 95 on our devices!

If you look closely at that video in 720p, you'll notice the contents of "Computer"
I find it HIGHLY unlikely that his HD2 has THAT much storage space on either C: or D:
Where he's gotten that third local disk drive from, I have no idea..
Or how he got two DVD-ROMs conneted to it.
In the words of the youtube trolls; "Fake!"
Hmmm, just curious as to why you'd want something like that in your pocket. Buy an HTC Shift or a TabletPC. It'd much easier for you & probably cheaper to put Windows 7 on if you consider all the Advil, Aleve, Tylenol & whatever other headache medicine you'll save on.
OK,
You've got me convinced.
Dumb idea.
Is there any working skin to do the job on a HD2.
I've seen many skin's/ rom's, but till now nothing looks like something I want.
Maybe there is a site/tutorial how to make such a skin/ROM?

OK,
Since I'm curious how it's done, maybe one of you wants to tell me how to connect to my PC (windows 7) with Remote Desktop Mobile.
I'm not familiar with it, please tell me in plain English. Thanks
HD2 with capacitive screen is freaking useless on remote desktop!
if you want to remote desktop, get a windows phone with resistive screen!
notice on the video, he never used the on-screen keyboard (remote pc keyboard) cus it freaking impossible to use on capacitive screen!

If you have Win7 Home Premium, Home or Basic, you can't.
If you have Win7 Professional or Ultimate, then:
- Connect your HD2 to your Wifi network, then find the IP of the Win7 computer
- To find the IP on the Win7 computer;
click on Start
type ' command ' into the "Search Programs and Files" box
click on "Command Prompt"
type ' ipconfig ' into the black box that appears
press Return or Enter on your keyboard
in the list that comes up, look for "IP address" under the wireless adaptor, usually starts with 192.168
- Open Remote Desktop on your HD2
- Enter the IP address of your computer and try to connect.
- If it doesn't connect, try checking your firewall on your Win7 computer to make sure Remote Desktop is allowed.

Yeah, I agree.
Though I wonder if a bluetooth keyboard would work. probably?
Touch-screen works and that's input. And we can get output from the host computer. Maybe I'll try that one day.

Wow, you got Windows 7 on your HD2? Now that would be a development...
(Guess it´s Windows Phone 7, no?).
Concerning apps, I don´t understand what people want...
Is it the number of apps which stands for the quality of what you get? According to my personal experience and opinion, 95% of all apps in Apple´s app store are just crap, and Android? Well, quite a bit chaotic, and quite a lot of crap, too.
But then again, thanks to a huge devs community like you find it here at xda, Android has a massive number of small apps which are really following user requests. And not just farts and other useless joke apps.

Hi
I would like to use an application like VMware for Android, in order to use some Linux / Windows 7 on my tab (without removing the built in Android OS);
Do you know if it is possible, and tell me which application could do that ?
Bye
Nico
I used VMware to access my 2.3 android phone, so no reason it shouldn't work with HC 3.2
Never tried it though. Only used it to root a phone.

Hi, I think there is a misunderstanding.
What I wanted is the opposite of what you did: I'd like to use a Linux on my Android tab
bye
Nico
I don't think you can install something like VMware as the Tegra2 doesn't support virtualization. I don't think that Tegra3 devices will allow for that either because they use the same ARM9 architecture. I believe ARM10 will support virtualization and that will be seen on newer OMAP devices, of which I don't think there are plans for tabs with OMAP chipsets in them.
AndroidSMS let the user to read and write SMS from pc!
To use this application you need the android application and a client software on your pc.

Oh yeah! that would be great! Now i'm a little busy but i'm sure we can find some time to test MONO over OSX.
Is there anyone who offers to take a test in linux?
I need to understand how it behaves and how to integrate ADB, for this platform. My VM fights with the USB connection
BTW, new versions are available!
Floating windows on the desktop is bad practice, you will get much better mileage with a tabbed interface for this. Also, contact sync and edit would be awesome

Yeah, thanks for your suggestion, I know the future is a tabbed interface and i'm working on it. Next release will have that feature!
What do you mean with "contact sync"? I already get contact informations from the phone to display names in the message window. And for the contact edit yeah, il would be awesome, but needs extra time that now I don't have. But next month I'll work on.
Bye!
New release!
With tab support, let me know if you like it!
The PC Client didn't work on WIN XP. They would like to send an error message, if i try to start the Client.
Well, i've testet an old build on WindowsXP and it worked. But I've not a machine running XP, so I've only VM's to test.
So, tonight i'll test and i'll see if there is any issue with that OS.
BTW, please, upgrade to a new and more secure OS

Contacts not syncing
Do numbers in my contacts need to be formatted any special way? Sometimes the name will show in the conversations view as well as their phone number. It shows the conversations in two different places, one is not associated with the contact's name, so you see their number instead.
