Yeah, that's Team Whiskey alright. According to Viralblack they're going to release the kernel soon.
The phone is snappy at 1.2. It should really fly at 1.6. Just wonder how stable it is.

Can't help but laugh at this:
I am running stock 2.2.1 EDT Beta 2 for a while and it's extra extra smooth. But now we have options to flash these awesome ROMs:
1) Trigger 2.6.2
2) RC6
3) Frost 2.2.1
4) Axura 2.3.1.1
I want to flash every single one of them but also I like how reliable EDT is. Anyone thinking like me?
Gotta love Vibrant community! Kudos to all developers out there. You guys rock!
I feel ya!!! I've tried all of them except for RC6. Tried out Frost and got the lag/bugs that are mentioned in the thread, so went back to Bionix 1.2.1. All of them are awesome ROMs, though!
I was just about to post something about this. Yes, edt 2.2.1 beta 2 is my favorite rom so far. Smooth and great battery life. In my quest for a complete 2.2.1 rom I tried rc6 and frost and found both to be laggy on my phone. I wonder if the 4g kernels are not a good match for (some?) vibrants. Going to stick with 2.2 for the time being. Axura is more theme-y than I like so I tried trigger. Trigger is very similar to edt 2.2.1 beta 2 imo and I really like the new kernel.
buy 4 vibrants.

Feel the same about Frost and Axura. One is laggy and the other is very theme-y. I guess I will follow you staying on 2.2 for a little more. I don't want to mess my beautiful configuration.

I agree can't think bring myself to change from beta 2 with dead horse kernel. It's really good.
I like stock with voodoo. I've tried most of the roms and keep coming back to stock.

same here... my perfect rom would be;
Stock boot animations/loaders/sounds
gingerbread theme with touchwiz UI over stock ROM with performance enhancements (if possible, and of course it wouldn't be 100% stock then)
and of course voodoo with performance enhanced stock kernel.
if this could be done i would be STOKED!
You can try RC6 with Frost kernal. It has voodoo on kernal. I just flash, it is smooth. The only problem so far i have is the external SD mount. Everything is great. No lag at all
I know there is already a thread for this but it's getting old and I thought a refresher would be nice for people torn between what rom to run. I'm still running. Trigger 2.8 with overstock and have no idea where to go next.
Test driving the new JVH right now. Not too bad and it fixes some of the JVB fc's.
Trigger 3.2. First 2.2 custom rom I'm happy with.
Bionix NextGen w/ Bali 1.8.3
Fast, slick, and long lasting
Still using bionix 1.3.1 lol
Bi-Winning. Test drive Bali.

Simply galaxy 2.7.2 god I love this rom
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
im using Toxic "Sexy" 7 and overstock 2.4.1 oc'd to 1.2.. runs fast as hell, gps is spot on i havent had the need for a gps flash fix. It also has some badass launchers like wp7..its sick..the browser speed on this rom is blazing fast!
What rom is good now, I, started with eugene's then moved on to team whiskey's,, now what? :/ what's cooking in the development section for our vibrants?
What rom are you on? Please help

What kind of a kick are you on IE: you want touchwhiz or AOSP looks. I for one am on a AOSP'ish kick right now. Running Biwinning 3.0 with the SGS II theme and launcher2 from the G2. I read alot during the middle of the night so 2.2.1 is an absolute must since the capacitive buttons don't light up while turning a page or scrolling the screen. On top of that I am running the bullet 1.48 kernel and it is as smooth as butter. Last but certainly not least that kernel allows a screen off profile of 400-100 so my battery life while not in use is fantastic. I'd say figure out what you want out of the phone and test until everything clicks how you want. If a rom isn't what you want look-wise cruise through all the great themes we have and have that decide which rom to run. Options are vast as it stands now.
I recommend the MIUI 360 rom.

I've been with team whiskey since nero-bionix 1.3.2. Now my 2 favorites are project v and m11
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
CM7 and MIUI roms are pretty great. Just read the instructions carefully and you'll be just fine. You can flash CM7 or MIUI over 2.2 roms by disabling voodoo first. Once that's done you can flash away. Be sure to grab a copy of the ka5 or ka7 radio/modems just in case you end up with no signal afterwards.
get your ass on CM7 before i slap you onto it.
Trust me once you try cm7 you won't look back to bionix ever again or any 221 rom.

Agreed always was about the Bionix roms until i tried bi-winning. Version 3 that was just released is a little buggy yet. But 2 has always been solid! Its nice with bullet kernel & bi-black gloss theme.

I went eugenes gingerclone, bionix 1.3.1, and now project-v with bali and Im pretty excited about it honeslty. Battery life is fantastic, speed is great. Im waiting for themes now haha
Vibrant - project-v, bali 1.8.6UV kernel.
I think I found my sweet spot at ZenDroid with Bali 1.86 UV. After all, this device is still made to be a phone, and while CM7 based roms are fun to play around with for a few days or weeks, I still need a stable rom for my daily use. But if I get bored, I always have my HD7 around to play around with before I come back the the good ole Vibrant.
On another note, this community has certainly gotten a lot more fun and better. Certainly much much better than that HD7 community (if you can call it one at all).
Bi Winning v3. Great rom! Other EDT roms are good too.

I used CM7 for about a month and it is without a doubt the best, fastest ROM on the Vibrant. However, I just switched back to BiWinning 3 and I really love having GPS and a battery that easily makes it through the day instead of fighting at every step to survive the day.
BIONIXV1.3.1.! ITS FAST. ITS STABLE. IT HAS GREAT BATTERY LIFE. IT HAS A GOOD GPS.IT HAS ABSOLUTELY NO BUGS. IT HAS...... oh never mind
Try ZenDroid. I get good battery, the theme is awesome, its fast and its stable.

I have to agree with XPLANE and philliple. Since I've been using ZenDroid I haven't even been checking for new roms. It's stripped down, super fast and stable, and very aesthetically pleasing.

I've seen a lot of new 2.3.3 for the vibrant 4g, now my question is those ROM works great with the original vibrant since that one doesn't have the FCC??

They need to be modified, but yes, they CAN be ported to the original Vibrant.
So if I just flash any of those roms I might have problems? ??

We have three better versions already here. They are 2.3.4 so we are a step ahead of Vibrant 4G.
One of them is pretty darn excellent if i do say so myself and now has super noob cant screw up install instructions. The other 2 I havent tried.

I've tried both simplyhoney and blitzkrieg. Both are excellent ROMs in my opinion and if you can Odin and follow instructions you should be fine.

I've been using Simply Honey 3.6 for two days now and Im happy with it. Easy to flash too. I made sure to Odin the GB bootloaders too so I can see recovery.
Im not concerned with GPS as I installed one in my truck.
