why there is a forum...??? because people need help....and i am seriously tired of people who try to be smart a**. Unfortunately i don't know the answer...for the best rom..but try searching in android development...
"please try to be nice to people who needs help"
thanks..
IMHO
It depends of what you want, speed, stability, latest, etc, and what your phone can handle mine can't handle overclock for example.
IMHO Eclair TeamWhisky Fusion Rom, Froyo Axura 2.0.4 Master.
I hope this help you.

haha! you said it well! I was about to say this.
Axura, and .5 should be even better once released.
You should go to the dev section and read about the different roms. They have different things that are good about each. Also different roms might work better on your phone than others. The 3 most popular seem to be Eugene, Axura and Team Whiskey(not in any order). FOr me Obsidian 4.2 with stock Kernal works the best for me. Like I said read first. One other thing I would say do is ODIN between each different Rom maker you use.
Obsidian v5 is running very smooth and fast for me, plus I love the black theme. I'd recommend it!
its all a matter of personal preference I personally like the Auxra ROM I like the looks the speed the battery life and the screen transitions! But look into the Android Development forum and read the feed back.

I've never done that, and I've never had a problem.

I do it just to keep from getting Ghosts. Its just my opinion.
Ive tried them all and I personally prefer axura for its amazing speed and battery life. The GPS works great for me too. Combined with Eugene's A14 ULF OC/UV kernel this rom flies. But be careful with the ulf kernel. I've had some pretty serious issues with converting dbdata to jfs...I would totally lose my data connection.

He was just messing with you, we have no gingerbread.
For me, it's stock JI6+JI2 modem + /data/data symlinked to /dbdata/data + root. It's fast as hell, solid as a mountain and gives me no problems at all.
i haven't flashed any of eugene's more current roms so i can't speak to those. however, i've been running the obsidian and onyx roms and they are great. but i flashed axura 2.0.4 last night and have been super impressed with it.
and really, imo, there is no reason to be flashing 2.1 roms anymore. there are great froyo roms that are fully functional, stable, and smooth.
What rom is good now, I, started with eugene's then moved on to team whiskey's,, now what? :/ what's cooking in the development section for our vibrants?
What rom are you on? Please help

What kind of a kick are you on IE: you want touchwhiz or AOSP looks. I for one am on a AOSP'ish kick right now. Running Biwinning 3.0 with the SGS II theme and launcher2 from the G2. I read alot during the middle of the night so 2.2.1 is an absolute must since the capacitive buttons don't light up while turning a page or scrolling the screen. On top of that I am running the bullet 1.48 kernel and it is as smooth as butter. Last but certainly not least that kernel allows a screen off profile of 400-100 so my battery life while not in use is fantastic. I'd say figure out what you want out of the phone and test until everything clicks how you want. If a rom isn't what you want look-wise cruise through all the great themes we have and have that decide which rom to run. Options are vast as it stands now.
I recommend the MIUI 360 rom.

CM7 and MIUI roms are pretty great. Just read the instructions carefully and you'll be just fine. You can flash CM7 or MIUI over 2.2 roms by disabling voodoo first. Once that's done you can flash away. Be sure to grab a copy of the ka5 or ka7 radio/modems just in case you end up with no signal afterwards.
get your ass on CM7 before i slap you onto it.
Trust me once you try cm7 you won't look back to bionix ever again or any 221 rom.

I went eugenes gingerclone, bionix 1.3.1, and now project-v with bali and Im pretty excited about it honeslty. Battery life is fantastic, speed is great. Im waiting for themes now haha
Vibrant - project-v, bali 1.8.6UV kernel.
I think I found my sweet spot at ZenDroid with Bali 1.86 UV. After all, this device is still made to be a phone, and while CM7 based roms are fun to play around with for a few days or weeks, I still need a stable rom for my daily use. But if I get bored, I always have my HD7 around to play around with before I come back the the good ole Vibrant.
On another note, this community has certainly gotten a lot more fun and better. Certainly much much better than that HD7 community (if you can call it one at all).
Bi Winning v3. Great rom! Other EDT roms are good too.

I used CM7 for about a month and it is without a doubt the best, fastest ROM on the Vibrant. However, I just switched back to BiWinning 3 and I really love having GPS and a battery that easily makes it through the day instead of fighting at every step to survive the day.
BIONIXV1.3.1.! ITS FAST. ITS STABLE. IT HAS GREAT BATTERY LIFE. IT HAS A GOOD GPS.IT HAS ABSOLUTELY NO BUGS. IT HAS...... oh never mind
Try ZenDroid. I get good battery, the theme is awesome, its fast and its stable.

I have to agree with XPLANE and philliple. Since I've been using ZenDroid I haven't even been checking for new roms. It's stripped down, super fast and stable, and very aesthetically pleasing.

Give Deck's GB a try
+1 for DECKS!!!
lets just say i love experiment with some strange but i'll always come back to decks
Syndergy based roms are doing me right right about now, so any should be good. If your going to be in the community i find it hard to believe that the urge to flash multiple roms won't eventually get its grip on you
decks is cyanogen, with a different launcher.
try salvagemod or evervolv
Gotta give my vote to mikg v1.04
I'll be the first to represent for VaelPak AOSP GP Preview. I love it, no problems whatsoever for my admittedly-average usage experience. It's still in beta, but Vaelek is a talented dev. Not sure why he left XDA, but he's running his own show at vaelek.com these days.
I've also heard good things about Deck's ROM.

DECKs rom is the way to go. Tried them all and still flash them just to stay on the edge of the development. Only problem with DECKs...DON'T GET COMFORTABLE!!! The guy updates his stuff every 10 minutes!!! Kidding of course but he really strives to make his the best it can be. I absolutely love it!!!

I agree 100% I wasn't a big fan of asop till deck.
Decks is great. I keep finding myself coming back to Decks gb rom. way to go. Try it out and see how you like it.
I never tried Decks, but it is based off of CM 7 from what i'v heard. If you're looking for something other than CM7 then you HAVE to try out MIUI.
Not only is it one of the best GB roms i'v ever used, it's one of the best roms i'v used period (and i'v been flashing roms since the G1 days). Trust me, you won't regret. I highly suggest once you flash it install Go Launcher because the stock launcher is a little "iphone-ish" unless you like that kind of thing, then it's all good.
+1 for Decks ROM......
Deck's rom is pretty awesome. Running that with the SZ kernel, LauncherPro, and the Supercharger script, and my phone has never been faster.

So, I tried using Synergy, and I have no idea what it could have been, but it felt a lot slower than I was comfortable with.
I have yet to try MIUI, but people seem to enjoy it. At the moment I'm on Kingdom R6 and I feel like it's one of the faster ROMs I've used.
I haven't used an AOSP ROM yet, but it seems that Deck is the ROM of choice. I know with CM7 I can't flash it because I used unrEVOked, is that the same situation with Deck?
I just rooted my tmobile vibrant..and now i want to know as of now is
cm7 a reliable rom to use?
which roms right now are the best or are working the best.
looking for a rom where basically everything works where i wont get missed calls or txt messages
Tard Rom or bionix nextgen they are both on the teamwhiskey site, or you can use one of the many jvq/jvr roms on the development thread
Tard Rom and bionix nextgen are the name of the roms im guessing
do you mind posting link with the most current version
From what I can tell the most reliable and established ROMs are all based on 2.2 / FROYO as 2.3 / Gingerbread ROMs including CM7 all still have issues with Battery Power and GPS. These are the two most heavily viewed / used as far as I can tell:
Project V 6/11/11
Bionix-v 1.3.1 from Team Whiskey
Bionix nextgen and Tard ROMs are available in the forums on the team whiskey site (registration required).
Again, it would be great to include a very limited selection of very stable ROMs in a FAQ. The current long list of all ROMs is fairly useless for the majority of us seeking a long-term stable solution.
Good luck!
I always come back to biwinning 2.2.1
It has everything I need which is good GPS and wificalling.,
I use Cyanogenmod 7, all the latest builds are fully reliable and stable.
I also use Hybrid SGS II JVP v. IV XXJVP 06.29.11 ROM and this is the best 2.3.4 ROM with TouchWiz 4.5 launcher. Its also the most stable ROM i have ever had.

i dont think we have a working cm6.
if you want stable, just flash most any 2.2 froyo rom like trigger 3.2, bionix, toxic crazy 8, ....
most of the 2.2 roms are about as stable as you are going to get.
Ok ill try out cm7 then im guessing bio.since it seems to be mentioned the most
Don't flash cm7. You're not ready for that. Install a froyo rom instead. You get everything you need from them. Good battery life and stable. That's what matters the most.

I'm also trying out some of these for some-what the same reason...
School starts tomorrow for me.
I'm a LIGHT user, so when my phone is on standyby i dont want it losing 20% of my battery.
When i use it, I just text, phone calls, a LITTLE music, and maybe play games, but i know i can lose battery while doing those, i just want to save maximum battery while on standby.
Any suggestions?

Hey guys, I know this may have been asked a few times already but I wanted to know what your favorite ROM's are as of 2012? And why! Don't just drop a ROM name. Mention which are your favorite features and which other ROMs you might have tried. Maybe this thread will stop the questions "what's the best ROM". Basically it was always asking "what ROM are you using" Because those were the results.
So far legendary has been the best for me! I have tried out thunderhawk (laggy for me) mostly stock (too stock for me)... well let's just say I have tried them all and I always end up back to legendary... it has the perfect balance of themeing, stability, and performance IMO!

I am biased as I help random with some minor debugging at times. There are lots of ways to run your setup, the key is finding what fits your usage. We are all pretty lucky to have so many excellent choices.

Currently Legendary 2.2 with adw launcher, didn't really care for the launcher that came with it.
Went from Stock EI22 Gingerbread to CleanGB (MTD) to CM7. CM7 rocks!
RandomROM 3.3
Roms used
So far I have used Marcusants ASC roms 5.1 - His V.2 was a fan of the speed, but just not stable. And I'm not a fan of V.2 with the red color theme. I have also Tried MIUI 1.12.23 which worked good, but i like having the app drawer which this did not. I am currently running CleanGB 1.03 with no issues. It is a stable rom, running 4g without issues and installed gtalk w/video. Next on the list is the new CM7 version which seems to have gotten Wifi stable as well as 4g working.
I have to test out all the roms and supply to all the friends/family that have the epic so they dont end up calling me for every error they get
Legendary RC 2.1 rocking my allblue theme on MTD.
CleanGB MTD is a great ROM. No problems, good battery life. Love it
