I've seen a lot of new 2.3.3 for the vibrant 4g, now my question is those ROM works great with the original vibrant since that one doesn't have the FCC??

They need to be modified, but yes, they CAN be ported to the original Vibrant.
So if I just flash any of those roms I might have problems? ??

We have three better versions already here. They are 2.3.4 so we are a step ahead of Vibrant 4G.
One of them is pretty darn excellent if i do say so myself and now has super noob cant screw up install instructions. The other 2 I havent tried.

Which one would that be? I was planning to stick with 2.2 til an official leak but I might give it a whirl.

I've tried both simplyhoney and blitzkrieg. Both are excellent ROMs in my opinion and if you can Odin and follow instructions you should be fine.

Kaoscinate is cm ....but the screwed up galaxy s software makes aosp difficult.....inspite of that kaos jt and company have made good progress and vanilla aosp is pretty usable as a daily rom
We also still lack the source for Froyo (at least publicly), which is why our current EB01 voodoo kernels are a 'hack', and we don't have voodoo sound, BLN, etc.
The Froyo source may or may not help, depending on exactly how far Kaos is (it might be more work to figure out wtf is going on with the Froyo source, than just to finish up Kaoscinate).
it would be good to here from Kaoscinate dev with a status - anything - he was so good at updates with his progress up until the 2.2 leaks
love the work dev have done to move this phone forward
Thanks

EB01 is a later leak than DL30. It fixes a number of the various bugs in DL30, and is what it seems most of the developers have abandoned DL30 for.
There's several early EB01 threads in the dev section announcing it, that give a quick list of some of the improvements.
Ahaha! I read the "less than" symbol backwards. I was confused there for a moment.

Just follow Kaos's twitter. He's working on it, but AFAIK, it's not close to being ready for prime time.
im seeing a few 2.2.1 roms on the android development vibrant forums, and i'm wondering what you guys think about it.
i'm currently running eugene's deadhorse test34, and kb1 modem, with original bionix v, and it's working the way i want it. gonna get a ffc eventually, but don't have the money for it right now.
is the difference between 2.2 and 2.2.1 worth the data wipe? or just keep rolling with a 2.2 rom?
****i actually meant for this to be in vibrant Q&A, move if necessary*****
Theres a2.2.1? WHERE?!

are you saying that this wipes the internal or external sd card?
--i though it just wiped data (of course like most roms) and wipes the laucher pro backup?
You wont see an appreciable difference. I'm happy with 2.2 and will probably only switch roms if the next point releases based on 2.2 source are particularly compelling. I've tried a few 2.2.1 roms, but they've all been built with i9k source so they've got their quirks. Definitely usable but the little problems amount to a rom that can be annoying to use daily.

Look in the q and a section of vibrant. It has a working vibrant kernel and scrizz has the flashable modem. Everything works fine, cept for the home and search button but there's an app to put it on the home screen. All support you need is in scrizz's thread in general section. Running it now, its the fastest thing I've ever used.

A good friend of mine is getting the Fascinate today, and I was going to get her rooted and running 2.2. I've been digging through the Dev forum here, but I wanted opinions.... which ROM do you use, if you use any?
Also, any good theme suggestions? I'm looking for something lighter, whites and reds or blues would be wonderful.
Thanks all!
Superclean 2.9.2. Themes would either be HTC Sense, Gingerbread, or Nitro's themes.

Any idea also if Fugutweaks works with it? I use it on my phone, and wow, does it make a difference...

Yeah flash whatever(froyo) you want...recommend researching flashing first however just in case something goes wrong. Recommend Bi Winning V3 from the Development area btw.
You could also flash many and see which one you like more.
I like hearthen's (I think?) SGS II clone.
I just LOVE the way it looks and it's pretty smooth, if I might say so.
Also, TeamWhiskey's Bionix NextGen is one of the best ROMs I've tried... if you can stand the fact that it's just blue everywhere, it's excellent.
Personally, I like my shiny colors, that's why even if Im a TW fangirl, I stuck to SGS II Clone.
I personally like trigger, but just look around and see which one you like best. My set up is as follows:
Rom: trigger 3.0.1
Modem: kb5
Kernal: overstock 1.4.3
Theme: vibrant HD 1.4

What kind of a kick are you on IE: you want touchwhiz or AOSP looks. I for one am on a AOSP'ish kick right now. Running Biwinning 3.0 with the SGS II theme and launcher2 from the G2. I read alot during the middle of the night so 2.2.1 is an absolute must since the capacitive buttons don't light up while turning a page or scrolling the screen. On top of that I am running the bullet 1.48 kernel and it is as smooth as butter. Last but certainly not least that kernel allows a screen off profile of 400-100 so my battery life while not in use is fantastic. I'd say figure out what you want out of the phone and test until everything clicks how you want. If a rom isn't what you want look-wise cruise through all the great themes we have and have that decide which rom to run. Options are vast as it stands now.
I recommend the MIUI 360 rom.
Sent from my MIUI.us Vibrant.
I've been with team whiskey since nero-bionix 1.3.2. Now my 2 favorites are project v and m11

CM7 and MIUI roms are pretty great. Just read the instructions carefully and you'll be just fine. You can flash CM7 or MIUI over 2.2 roms by disabling voodoo first. Once that's done you can flash away. Be sure to grab a copy of the ka5 or ka7 radio/modems just in case you end up with no signal afterwards.
get your ass on CM7 before i slap you onto it.
Trust me once you try cm7 you won't look back to bionix ever again or any 221 rom.

I went eugenes gingerclone, bionix 1.3.1, and now project-v with bali and Im pretty excited about it honeslty. Battery life is fantastic, speed is great. Im waiting for themes now haha
Vibrant - project-v, bali 1.8.6UV kernel.
I think I found my sweet spot at ZenDroid with Bali 1.86 UV. After all, this device is still made to be a phone, and while CM7 based roms are fun to play around with for a few days or weeks, I still need a stable rom for my daily use. But if I get bored, I always have my HD7 around to play around with before I come back the the good ole Vibrant.
On another note, this community has certainly gotten a lot more fun and better. Certainly much much better than that HD7 community (if you can call it one at all).

I used CM7 for about a month and it is without a doubt the best, fastest ROM on the Vibrant. However, I just switched back to BiWinning 3 and I really love having GPS and a battery that easily makes it through the day instead of fighting at every step to survive the day.
