[UPDATED] JPY XSA (Australia Unbranded) Firmware - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi All,
I have created a JPX/JPY rom with XSA (Australia Unbranded) CSC. That means that if you flash this your CSC will be XSA!
I am currently running this on Unbranded Virgin Australia Mobile. It has APN settings for all Australian carriers. Kies shows Product code as "GT-I9000HKAXSA".
JPX:
http://www.multiupload.com/YOG082M70Q
JPY [Updated with Modem]:
http://www.multiupload.com/HISMWOJ7KI
DO NOT re-partition with this firmware! If you have problems on first boot "E:Can't mount \dev\block\st110" then Flash with JPU (3 files) and repartition with 512.pit then re-flash this JPX/JPY WITHOUT repartition.
JPX:
PDA: I9000XXJPX
PHONE: I9000XXJPX
CSC: I9000XSAJP4
JPY
PDA: I9000XXJPY
PHONE: I9000XXJPY
CSC: I9000XSAJP4
Both Firmware's includes the Navigon Navigation Software!

If I have helped you please click on the "Thanks" Button.

No, this firmware is based on 900/1900/2100 MHz. Unbranded Australian Galaxy S is a 900/1900/2100 MHz version too.
Only one carrier in Australia uses an 850 MHz 3G Galaxy S - Telstra. The rest of the carriers are 900/2100 MHz. (Vodafone, Optus, Three, Virgin etc)

Yes, This does have the Navigon Software! That comes in the CSC Package
Hence it comes in this JPX XSA Package

ok that is what i thought.. any recommendations on which modem to use (for 850/1900/2100 mhz 3g here in the u.s.) when i custom flash with jpx the jp1 from the i9000t jp2 distribution or the jk3 from the i9000m jk4/jk3 distribution (newer) this is nov 29th vs. nov 18th for jp1
both supposedly are froyo with 850mhz 3g..

I am on the telus modem and the rom screems

Can someone post the updated navigon apk

Here is the Navigon APK:
http://www.multiupload.com/P7GFPHWC57
Extracted from XSA CSC JP4

are you talking about Samsung Nav software... if it is you can always download it from Market for free

i have just upgraded from a tytn II to a i9000, so please excuse my ignorant questions....
i have a vodafone branded stock eclair rom (JG3 from memory).
should i flash JPU before attempting to flash JPX?
or can i just go ahead and flash the JPX rom?
cheers
Edit: Just for my own reference... performed a three file flash of JPU and 512.pit (without repartition) then flashed JPY with 512.pit (without repartition) then for some reason rooted with chainfires JPX busybox-1.17.....

Don't know.. It's only available for Android 2.2 so if you still using eclair it won't show up on market. I'm using Darkys v6 latest ROM based on JPX..
here is the proof.

yes but it shows up in the market based on your market sim id.
download market enabler and post the id that is the default one the we will be able to get the software.

ALL use market enabler and fake telstra AU and search for mobile navigator.
I am in the usa and testing the gps to see if it has free maps for other places than down under.

I'm running XSAJP4 on 9000T from Telstra. I get 'H' on my status bar and it runs fine. The only difference I can see is the model changed to 9000 instead of 9000T. When I click on select Band I only get XSA and no other choice. NextG SIM.
Which brings me to another question, the first post says CSC: XAJP4 . did you mean XSAJP4? the same one from 2.2?

Video chat works with KG1 using the preinstalled Google Talk. Probably you gotta open gtalk click on your status and tick "enable video chat" (could differ)

it's how samsung names their firmwares.
http://samfirmware.com/samsunglettercode.htm
in _ _KG1 - K means 2011, G means July, 1 means release 1 (for that region)
the first two letters show the region. so XXKG1 is european 2.3.4 so if there was a XXKG2, then that would also be a 2.3.4.
but for UAE firmware, there hasn't been a 2.3.4 yet, so KG2 is just a newer release, but not necessarily a newer build of android.
hope that makes sense!
It does make sense, I had to read it a couple of times to make sense of it though
I check my Google Talk version in my KF3 SGS II, and it's 1.3 and most definitely w/o video chat, so it's probably (and hopefully) the LAST 2.3.3 firmware
Cheers for checking into my q!

All those changes where introduced in the XXKL7 Update
I am on unlocked Galaxy Note (bought in Austria), using it in Finland (Elisa operator, if it matters). Showing GINGERBREAD.XXKKA build number. And both Kies on PC and update attempt through phone settings menu says no updates available.
And I don't have those new features. How come? How to get the update??
(Preferably "the supported way" without messing with roms?)

I would not worry too quickly and wait a few days before investing more time into it.
These updates are rolled out over a certain period of time (a week or two is my impression), not every phone gets the update at the exact same time/day.
In fact I checked two days ago as well as Yesterday without being prompted that the new update was available. And just now when checking again it told me I could install the update (which I will do so when I am back home with WiFi).
So patience is probably all you need

I'm on the KKA build as well. Unlocked Note bought through The OEM Shop on Amazon.com with a product code of XEN (Netherlands). From the stock ROMs thread in the development forum, there hasn't been an update for the XEN Notes since November. I'd guess we'll be seeing the update reasonably soon.
KKA:
K=2011
K=11 > November
A=10th build in Nov.11
LA4:
L=2012
A=01 > Jan
4=4th build in Jan.12
So KKA is really old!
I strongly recommend to use at least LA1 or LA3 to have good performance!

LA1 LA3 are with XEU csc
LA4 is with DBT csc
Lets say your csc is XEU aka Europe. And your csc is a multilingual one you could pick DBT update via kies to xxla4 and again go back to XEU after that. But because the xxla4 is a nonwipe update don't expect not to loose your data because on each change of XEU to DBT and back phone does hard reset it's self.
So Carefull if you Make a mistake and you change your csc with this code IT WILL WIPE ALL YOUR DATA except sd card.

So even though my product code is XEN, can I flash the DBT LA4 non-wipe ROM through Odin? Or will it fail since the CSC codes don't match? I have Odin and the .tar file extracted, I'm just hesitant to try it. Thanks.
Why is the news suddenly picking up on this?
It's XKL7 folks, which is 3 weeks old.
See this thread:

Is this the most recent firmware to be pushed OTA or something?
Anyone upgrading should go to LA3/LA4 though - there was quite a bit of improvement speedwise from LA1 to LA3.

using lps 4.0.3 and its ok...tho i have a text issue where i receive a text alert in my notification bar, pull it down and open...but the homescreen text envelope still shows a message to be read. honestly, gingerbread 2.3.5. was much better...this feels like it ain't even finished.

You're starting to irk me now.
The modem in your link is binary identical to stock. What about this do you not understand? It is the same file.
Whatever, I see you've now removed your original fantasy claim anyway (below for prosperity)

Yes, I know it well. Originally I got the device with 3.2 HK ROM, which DOES CONTAIN HUNGARIAN also, among other EUROPEAN languages. Then I flashed ICS ROM P6800XXLQ1, then I flashed P6800XXLQ2. This is what I have now.
But this ROM also contains some bugs. That's why I also interested in other ROMs, issued later, hoping the later the version is, the less bugs are there...
Is it clear for you now?! But OK, forget it, just keep the "big secret" of avaible languages for yourself....
Tibor
Thread has been moved. Let's try to keep all these notification for firmware updates in the General section guys. Thanks.

Hello ctibor..
I'm just providing the INFOs and LINKs. Besides, didn't get enough time to check what language(s) inside the ROM, I also have just done updating my device.
By the way, for your information my updated ROM (via OTA) was the Official XME 3.2. Now I have the Official XME ICS 4.0.4 which contains these languages (SEA Languages):
- Bahasa Indonesia
- Bahasa Malaysia
- English (Philippines)
- English (United Kingdom)
- English (United States)
- Tieng Viet
- Thailand
- Korean
- Chinese
Hi wagnus..
There is no difference beetween XXLQ2 and the DXLP7. Also NO additional APPS.
Thanks for your interest in the THREAD.
Hi marwanxx,
Thank you very much for your detailed reply! It was really helpful to me.
Peace,
Tibor

Good to finally have native IME support. Came from rooted Austrian LQ1 & LQ2. No major issues in this build as well so far.
I have just updated the firmware to ICS (im in Singapore) but after updating I hv lost all wifi connection. Is there a fix for this? Please help. Thanks

There is no proper fix, and none of the ics versions work.
But try to switch your Flight Mode off and on a few times, switch wifi off and on a few times and then reboot the tablet.
If you are lucky it may work.
But with certain combinations of wifi networks around you, even if not connected, your wifi will fail. If there is only one network in your vicinity then it will usually work.
Do you feel lucky ?

Austrian LQ1 and LQ2 both have the wifi bug, I can replicate it at will.
But if you have a single wifi network in your vicinity you may not notice it.

Try turning off wifi first, then do a restart. That works for me after I upgraded from Hong Kong to Singapore version.
I am in Singapore, just updated yesterday.. So far looks okay. Wifi, 3g etc seems good

The wifi only falls over if someone switches a Huawei mobile router on near your location. You don't have to be connected to it, merely switching it on will kill your wifi.
It is possible that some other routers may also do this.

If the APN is locked out, then usually it's because you have a carrier branded ROM installed and they disabled changing it to stop you using other networks. Flash a universal ROM without any branding. What's your current CSC?
Use this app from the store
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo
And scroll down to Firmware Info > CSC Version &
CSC Info > Firmware CSC Code

Ok you're currently on Phillipines (Smart). There no unbranded ROM for that region, only 3 other networks - Sun Cellular, Open Line and Globe. So if you're using one of those networks you can flash one of those or there's a unbranded ROM available for the Malaysia region.

Well that's an XTE ROM which is for the Sun Cellular network. So if you're using that network it will work but if not, they may have also locked out the APN settings.
