Does anyone know if Orange Signal Boost software pre-installed on the LG Optimus One software will work on other Android handsets (especially HTC DHD)? Has anyone managed to extract it and put somewhere for download?
Hopefully the answer is yes to both and finally Android owners can use UMA.

I'd like to know if there's a way to get it for my Vodafone LG Optimus One P500.
I extracted the APK for Orange signal boost from a ROM image, it is here..

Doesn't work out of the box, probably needs some modding and kernel changes as per the T-Mobile one which is working on the N1. The ORange version is also Kineto so similar I expect.
The Desire S supports UMA on Orange apparantly. Perhaps if someone could extract that from the ROM we might be able to get it working on other HTC handsets?

- What's video dialing? Is this a video conference feature?
- ATT says they will offer an upgrade to WM6 in Q3, anyone know if you will have to pay for it?
- How many of you have upgraded your phones to WM6? Was it hard? Worth it?
- Is it available in silver and black? I seem to see different descriptions of the phone.

Nobody really knows what is officialy going on with WM6, there are allready great cooked roms available that may be far better than the official one

Hey everyone, I've currently been using a Mytouch 3g and well I need a phone with a keyboard lol I just like the faster response keyboard phones have. So I was wondering which would be a better buy if I wanted a phone with a keyboard that operates on android....
morola cliq G1 or (??) if there's another one that runs android?
Also if I did decide to get the cliq, would i be able to still rom it like i did my MT3G?

For T-Mobile There is also the Behold 2. I don't know if you will still be able to flash roms. You don't be able to flash roms from this site because this is for htc phones. You are going to have to find another forum. I don't know if you will be able to find ROM's of such high quality that you will find here, however.
yeah that's what i figured, i just love having a phone with a keyboard. Is there anything else like the G1 that can still be rom'd
for t-mobile? No. The G1 and MyTouch are the only HTC devices for t-mobile with Android.
Hi not sure if this is a good or bad thing but I checked the UK Tmobile site and found they have removed the G2 Touch from the list of mobile phones they have, dose this mean they will not support the 2.1 update now??
also any one have the direct link to allow me to use the Copilot free sat nav offer which came with my HTC / G2 Touch followed the info which came with phone but only takes me to main site no info regards Tmobile offer..

t-mobile definitively still provides support for the g2 touch... on the german site, it is still listed, and the customer support told me the update was to be expected at the end of june.

I'd like to change a HTC Magic for a Lg Optimus Chic and want to know if it is a smart move...
1. Is there dev work going on for the Chic ? No section here on xda (which concerns me) and I'd like to be sure there is a possibility to root it and flash custom ROM (Sense possible ? Cyanogen ?).
2. Is it really better hardware than a Magic, in terms of speed and usability (overclock, etc.) ?

ok, ive searched and searched. so far there is next to nothing anywhere regarding the lg chic e720. i would like to know who else is interested in developing fir this device. i am by no means a seasoned dev, but i will do what i can for the chic community. right now ive only been able to successfully root a stock bell mobility e720 and remove all the bloatware. i would like to find out how we would go about getting a open recovery/ clockworkmod recovery on the phone. i believe i found a way to flash signed lg roms to the device but havent confirmed yet as i cannot find the 2.2.1 rom from lg, though i know it exists for other regions.
if anyone is interested or could point me in the right direction please pm me or reply here.

LG Chic is slightly better with better camera and slightly higher processor clock rate. Would definitely get the LG Chic. It's sleeker!

I have not seen or heard of one. I personally do not think it will happen as the lg quantum is not one of the more popular wp7 models. Also there is the fact that you can pretty much buy a phone with android on it with just about any hardware config already.
Miss the good 'ol WM days....
There having trouble porting it to the iphone 4. I wonder how hard it would be to get it on this hardware.
not sure if anyone's even tried, or if anyone that's capable even has a quantum. I sure am though and would be willing to help!
Edit: Well from what i understand WM won't be running on the quantum as the drivers for the compatible hardware aren't cross compatible between wp7 and wm6.5. however i've heard mention of people attempting to run 6.5 executables and such (un-sandboxed apps), if that's possible maybe we can boot using haret or something similar. then again though they would have to take a special interest in getting android running on the device, and it doesnt seem like many have much interest in it....
first step is someone running unsigned apps on the device using some hack or possibly something enabling it in the mango update

I am eagerly waiting for the LG quantum android ROM as early as possible.
It's doubtful that android will ever be brought over to the LG quantum. It is a low activity device and so far no one has gotten android on a WP7. By the time they get it all figured out or anyone cares enough, the quantum will be old news.
To make this short. Want android? Buy an android phone because you'll be waiting a long time if not forever.

Well,
hardware is VERY capable of Android (same as a Sony Xperia Mini Pro or so...) but the bootloader will never allow you to run Android.
Would be like use diesel gasoline on a standard car...
