reinstall clockwork again in rom manager. Some had to do it a few times to stick. Make sure s Is off

I'm not sure on how to turn s off or on
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App

Boot into bootloader and if should say on the top if you have s off or not. (You know, power and volume up).

Flash a new radio on a unrooted phone.

Is it possible.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
I'm pretty sure it is but personally I wouldn't try it.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
If I remember correctly you can't. You need to be fully rooted meaning s-off. Basically s-off means radio sercurity off, among other things turned off. If you try to flash anything through clocklworkmod recovery without s-off,either nothing will happen or your phone will be bricked an you will have to buy a complete new phone. Best thing to do is fully root(s-off). If you need help rooting your phone, send me a pm,an ill help you out.

You're right that you must be rooted to flash in recovery, but you do not flash radios in recovery. They are flashed in the bootloader, and I'm not sure root access is required to flash a PD15IMG.zip file in the bootloader. I'm leaning towards root not being required, but I don't know for sure. Might as well go ahead and try it. The worst that could happen is you get the "access denied" message and the installation aborts.
I was thinking that about the radio, I just flashed my first one. After having my phone rooted for 6months. Only reason why I said root the phone. Is to make sure he has full control over the phone. An it takes some risks out, some but not all.

Yea, I was about to say you don't use cwm to flash a new radio but you got it. : P lol

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. Its my girls phone, she wanted the latest but won't let me root it. (Personally I have no idea why) girls I tell ya. Haha. Thanks again everyone.

Radios can be flashed in bootloader - otherwise stock firmware updates wouldn't be able to upgrade radios - but they most probably need to be signed to be flashed by S-ON bootloader. In that case, the answer to the OP would be "no".

[Q] Mytouch 4g is stuck on the mytouch 4g screen

okay the past two days i havent been able to use my mytouch 4g because it is stuck on the mytouch 4g screen
and i can enter the hboot and recovery but i get
no image on the hboot menu
and the E: Cant open cache/recovery/log
im run on clockworkMod Recovery v3.0.2.4
and i tried falshing with one rom and it gave me
a error at the end
What can i do to get my mytouch 4g to work again
What rom did you try flashing before you soft bricked it?
Wipe all data again and flash another reputible rom see if that fixes it.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using xda premium
i used eViL-Virturious double shot and royalginger 3.0
and okay i will
try flashing PD151IMG.zip in bootloader (power down, volume down/power button). if it gives you Fail-PU, then you are truly bricked. the eMMC chip died, there is no way as of now to revive it. ask tmobile for a replacement.

Is it android 2.3.4? Because as of now, there is no way to root it, unless you downgrade to 2.2.1.

Hi

Hi guys im new here and new to all this, i only got my wildfire a couple of days ago and was wondering on how to mod it and do all the things you guys have going on on your phones?
I should also add im scared of ruining my phone so yes i am a newb but we all gotta start somewhere havent we
Don't worry bricking your phone is unlikely unless you do something silly and don't follow the guides correctly.
This is the best place to start, you'll find everything you need in this one thread.

Welcome to the section. Check out the guides for rooting and installing custom roms on your phone. There isn't really a big chance of getting your phone bricked. Once you root it, you'll feel alot safer because the worst thing that can happen is a bootloop. (Which can be repaired!)

okay i did all that now its stuck on the cyanogen loading screen what can i do
You've done the hard part don't worry its not broken. It should take around 5-10 minutes for first boot anyway so if its only been a minute or two and the rhythm of the boot logo is still turning smoothly and not pausing or restarting just leave it a little longer but if the logo freezes and restarts over and over this is called a bootloop. Easily fixed by rebooting into recovery again then select the wipe menu and wipe dalvik cache, cache and data then install your cm7 zip again. Everything should work then.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda premium
hmm i may have ruined it then for i just re did the installing of RUU_Buzz_HTC_WWE_1.14.405.2_R_Radio_13.45.55.24_3.35.15.31_release_130814
then left it at that for it worked then lol, is there anything i can do to get it actually done from there

yes i can still get to clockwork recovery by rebooting into hboot and going through recovery, ive also got the super user app in my apps
Just check in hboot that you are s-off and as you can still get recovery you're good to go, remember to wipe dalvik cache, cache and data when changing roms, if its an update you might get away with not wiping data sometimes. You'll get the hang of it soon enough. Before you flash cm7 again just run the backup in cwm then if it goes wrong again you can just restore.

[Q] Lost Root.. can't regain... HELP

Ok, so my wife's phone has to go back to TMOBILE by Friday Sept 21st, I have Virtuous Affinity on it and I Unrooted with VISIONary not thinking that i should have flashed something stock first. I now cannot regain root for some reason using VISIONary or even flashing a PD15IMG through bootloader,,, I'm not comfortable at all with ADB, please help if there is another way. Anyone?

Is your phone still s-off?
Sent from my Toasted Marshmallow using Tapatalk 2
Visionary only roots the ROM. If you're still S-Off you have the ability to write to the partitions through adb or recovery.
Tell us what happens when you try to flash PD15IMG.zip

I downloaded multiple versions including the 2.2.1, 2.3.4, and 2.34 (new) version... all those did similiar things, still not getting me back to stock. Does it make a difference that I have a custom rom with 2.3.5 on it?
Any other thoughts?

Why would it make a difference? Also, if it did, I would have asked you about it.
The only reason a good download will not install, usually, is if either you're on an unlocked bootloader from htc-dev, or something is wrong with either your bootloader or phone.

First off, this is the wrong section. But don't worry, everyone makes mistakes lol.
And now for the recovery. If you could get into your phone, like start it up and stuff. Install this app --> http://www.4ext.net/get.php?apk
Then install the app and open it. The rest is straight forward. It will install the recovery for you. Hope it helps.
Well if u installed recovery from ROM manager then u already flashed a recovery. U can boot into recovery from ROM manager app.
The link that notorious is providing is to flash a different recovery in the same way.

I was just saying since the recovery was already installed there was nothing more that needed to be done.
