[Q] Problems with Wireless Tethering - Epic 4G General

I am using a rooted epic with froyo dk28 with no custom rom. I have been using the tethering for the past couple of days and it worked great. Now it seems that I have lost it. It just stopped working. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get it working again? I tried reflashing my phone to no avail.

So... about this GPS problem...

I have been diligently searching for a thread to pop up along the lines of "GPS FIX" But I can't find any. I just wanna know if there is a definitive fix in the nightlies or not?
Not really. Some people are replacing their gps framework with one from an early nightly with generally working GPS. Other than that it seems different radios etc. Are having varying results.

Bad news here, I am on cm7 nightly 17, still without GPS( It worked only once).
The once worked method, which is replacing gps.vision.so from nightly #4 no longer works.

Yea this is how its been for several nightlies. GPS works on first reboot, but it doesn't work if you turn it off then back on again. I'm on #17 too.

This is the issue I had. I didnt mind replacing the gps.vision.so from Nightly #4 into the new Nightly's but now thats not even working on Nightly #17. It seems the GPS issue is getting progressively worse.
I'm on RC2 and was able to get my GPS working by flashing the latest AUS radio image (12.28h.60.140f_26.06.02.27). Before flashing it I was still on the old version from tmobile (12.21.60.09b_26.02.01.15). After flashing the AUS radio image my GPS started working but I was having problems with the reliability and speed of my data connection, even standing less than 800' from a T-mobile tower I was getting 1.5Mb/s download at best and it would only come in bursts. At that point I flashed the T-mobile image (12.28b.60.140e_26.03.02.26) from the OTA update and my data problems were fixed, started getting a steady connection and 4Mb/s+ download standing in the exact same spot, AND my GPS was still working. I've rebooted my phone several times since then I used the GPS for about 2 hours strait yesterday so it seems to be persistent and stable.
I have found that if I leave my GPS ON before I flash a new nightly or ROM, that it works fine. I have only ran into the GPS issue a few times but that was because I had it off before I flashed a new build. Never messed switching RADIOs or anything.
Here is what I have done to fix issues:
-If I flashed a new CM7 Gingerbread ROM without GPS ON prior to the flash, I usually go back to CM6 and turn GPS ON and then reflash the CM7 ROM and it works.
-Yesterday had a strange issue though, I went to Flash a new CM7 nightly and sure enough I forgot to leave GPS ON. So I went back to CM6 and tried to turn GPS on and it didn't work. So I then Flashed one of the MIUI ROMs and that still didn't work. So then I tried Flashing the newest Nightly from CM again and it worked very wierd.
That has been my experience with this GPS issue. Some how I have managed to fix it myself without too much trouble. Hopefully this helps people with these issues.

This worked for me also. I backed up RC2 with gps on, flashed MIUI, and then restored and blam it worked! thanks, I needed this so badly.
I had this problem for a while as well. Flashing CM7 #3 did the trick for me. I downloaded a copy of xboarder56's stock GB test ROM today and I have to say it works flawlessly! Smooth and fast and with working GPS.

So from the input I gather that nightlies have not yet fixed the problem. Since I don't need the GPS until the summer I guess I can wait a month or two before searching again...
Gps works fine for me.
Sent from my G2 running Cyanogenmod 7.
Fixed the GPS issue on CM7 by upgrading the radio:
Vision_RADIO_12.28e.60.140f_26.04.02.17. It works just fine in the US.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OKYRIPQW
To flash radio you must have radio s-off using gfree.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=855764
You need to downgrade to the stock kernel or CM 6.1.0 for gfree to work.
I'm not sure what the problem is either, but I decided to leave the GPS/Navigation running over one night. When I woke up, the GPS fixed itself. I haven't had a problem since then.
use these basic steps to try and fix the gps:

But does it work when you turn GPS on/off/on after rebooting? My GPS works fine after flashing a new radio till I turn it off and back on again.

Locks on within 5 seconds after reboot and turning gps on and off.
Edit: I got it to fail after flipping it on and off a bunch of times. Sigh.

Weird Wi-Fi issue on Telus HTC Desire HD

Hey Everyone,
My wife has a DHD with Telus since February and I have no problem with many ROM updates and radio flash.
She is running Revolution 6.1.1 on 12.62.60.27_26.13.04.19_M for the last 2-3 weeks.
I own a LG P500 and flashed over 100times since February for sure.
I just bought a used DHD from a friend who was on stock Telus 2.3
I flash Revo 6.1.1 too with latest radio on my new/used DHD.
It was working fine for couple of hours until the wi-fi starts to "enable/disable/enable/disable..."
I tried to flash different ROM (DeSense, GB_Sense) and my problem is almost always the same after few hours the Wi-Fi doesn't work anymore (keeps trying to enable).
CM7 has different issue. Everything is ok for few hours then after a reboot it keeps saying SIM card undetected restart phone in a loop after every bootup into android.
Now I am on GB_Sense since 7h00am and after a reboot and again I lost the wi-fi.
[gsm.version.ril-impl]: [HTC-RIL 2.2.0179HM (Aug 17 2011,15:24:58)]
[gsm.version.baseband]: [12.62.60.27U_26.13.04.19_M]
The 3G is working perfectly.
Anyone has an idea on why my wi-fi is getting that crazy as soon I reboot 1 time whatever the ROM is?
Any hint on how to fix that please?
Thanks
John
New ROM - Same issue
I just wipe everything and reinstalled Revolution 6.1.1
Worked perfectly until I reboot the phone again...
WiFi is trying to set ON, disconnecting, trying to set ON, disconnecting...
My problem is that I even can't disable the wifi completely so it keeps re-enabling and battery draining !
Same problem with Revolution 6.1.1, switched to a different ROM the virtuous latest and every thing worked fine.
I tried going to back to Revolution and same problem showed up again, so stopped using it. I think its very slow and buggy ROM.
Thanks.
I'm downloading it, will try in about 1hour and will let you know later.
I have to say that Virtuous Rom is fixing my issue!
Rebooted few times and so far wifi is perfectly connecting!
Thank you for the reference!

yeh when i used android revo 6.1.1 it started trying to access locations, kept waking it from sleep, i tried wiping and reflashing to no avail. did exactly what zombie did and tried out virtuous unity, zero problems since. well pleased with V.U. definately a keeper(for a week or so anyway )

[Q] Post 4G Upgrade - Root killed upgrade

So I got my Xoom back after the 4G upgrade. Rooted with the RoM on XDA which worked except for the wireless broke but 4G still worked. Ended up going back to factory but after that 4G broke but wireless works. I used Android-HC-3.2.2-Stock+Rooted-1.1-SOLARNZ to root.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Try the boot image in my .sig; I have 1.5GHz, root, 4G and WiFi. You'll need the modules in the .zip, too.
If you had your Xoom upgraded then you already have 3.2.2. You do not need to flash that ROM. Instead, just unlock and use the 'Universal Root' method -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1242241
It has worked fine for quite a few of us.
Yeah, I stupidly flashed the RoM that came back after the upgrade and now have lost my 3G/4G radio. No matter what I do I can't get them to show up on the Xoom at all.
From what I understand there's no roms/kernels yet for updated(4g) you can just unlock(root) A few people flashed roms and kernels and lost their 3g/4g some even lost wifi...I'm awaiting a rom now
Thanks for the tips fellas. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens and what come out. No matter what I do I can't get 3 or 4G radio back on my Xoom.

[Q] AAT MF3 Wireless Issue

Flashed the ViSX.MF3.Blue.Ice ROM. Flash went well and everything seems to be working EXCEPT the wireless. (wireless wont turn on) Cell modem working and so is Bluetooth. I have flashed several ROMs and get the same issue. The only one that has worked is Deadly_Venom_v8.1.0. and everything is working. I have tried diff. kernals and still no luck. (ausdim, Knootz, etc.)Have also tried loki patch. What am I doing wrong? Please help. I really like that VisionX ROM and want it to work.

are you flashing the mf3 modules after each rom you install? you can't flash different kernels. and I'm pretty sure the loki patch is not needed when using safestrap.
Just need to flash the modules. I downloaded my first ROMs and didnt choose the stock kernel and had the same issue. I did however read through all the topics as anyone should and already had the module flashable on hand so it was a simple matter of flashing in Safestrap.

Feel Dumb
TY guys! I am feeling dumb. I too had that module on my SD card but hadn't used since first flash (over week ago) and forgot about it. Now all working good. Again, Thanks.

[Q] S4 data not working

I rooted and flashed my sprint s4 with gummy ROM android 4.4 kitkat. First few weeks it was flawless and everything worked perfectly fine. Now my data is hardly working. Sometimes (very rarely) it might be working but for the most part nothing. It shows all bars enabling me to make calls and text but no data. Id appreciate it if anyone can give me some advice or a solution to the problem. Thanks
Try flashing a TW ROM and update prl and profile. Then go back to gummy
