Hello all. I asked around but couldn't get a concrete answer if I could flash the GB Rom for Sprint onto my VZW Tab. Well I thought why wouldn't it run.....so I tried it. It works beautifully, now I have GB on my VZW Tab. I should also mention that I am not a data subscriber and that I only use my Tab on WiFi, so there was no issue with the data subscription. Follow this link if you want to try:

Good Luck!
Edit: I also notice that I am still on the Verizon baseband of DL21. So I don't know how this all worked....but it does.
Glad someone tried it and posted back to answered all the questions.

+1 Works Flawlessly. I am also on the VZW baseband of DL21, but as the OP Ionly use wifi so I don't care.
Amusingly it did complain that I was Roaming and may get speedhumped by zombies because of it.
Steps I took are as follows:
Flashed back to stock according to steps and files in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=967175
After that finished I then followed the instructions for Sprint users to flash the rooted updated from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1161033
I followed the above steps verbatim in succession and it flashed without issue.
The only thing I did that wasn't listed was to pull my sd card and delete all the files on it before I began. (I didn't format just deleted all files) and I don't even think that was neccessary, I did it as a just in case thing.
Hope this helps some people wit VZW tabs looking to get some Netflixy goodness going (the main reason I attempted this)
Now I just need someone with a data plan to post their experience with doing this so I can try

No data here on a VZW tab with that rom installed. Tries to connect but doesn't work. I am running the DJ11 modem. Any other modems I can flash to test? I don't see any vzw modems in the modem sticky.
Also, since this is stock, be aware it's not stock GB but stock sprint GB update. Full of touchwiz and bloatware.
Edit: Tried Verizon Tab Bootstrapper and tab would load up sprint bootani without sound then go to a black screen. No reason to try at the moment, but thought I would test it for you all.
my VZW tab now with Sprint EF17 baseband and 2.3.4 ROM too,it works great, and fixed the gps which didn't work at first.

When you say you have those sprint modems on your verizon tab do you mean with data working??

or you can do this to update your Verizon tab, thanks for this release... plus removed a lot of the bloatware! This will hold me over until the Honeycomb release...

Keep in mind that it may be saying that because, as far as the Sprint rom is concerned, you may be "roaming" on VZ bands. Who knows though.
Is that sprint gb rom rootable, if verzion releases gb within our life time will I be able to return to their rom?

Sent from my VZW SGT running a Gingerbread Sprint Rom
I have a Samsung Fascinate from Verizon Wireless.
Up until two days ago, it used to work perfectly on Android Froyo Superclean 2.8.
I had that ROM for about a year and a half and never thought of updating my OS up until two days ago.
At first, I discovered that I could get Gingerbread for my phone (not a stock version though).
I looked on the internet and I ended up flashing C-Spire Wireless Gingerbread 2.3.6 by accident.
When I finally finished all of the updating on that, I tried to go on the internet but it was not functioning the way it used to.
Most of the time, my phone could not connect to the 3G network, and when it did, it was very slow and disconnected every minute or so.
So, I then flashed the stock version of Gingerbread 2.3.5 for Verizon, but when I finished doing that, I still found that my internet was extremely buggy.
I also tried to install some radios on my phone to see if that helped, but it did not.
Shortly after, I stalled Superclean3 milestone 2 but the internet issue was not solved.
After that, I installed TSM Resurrection 2.2. The internet problems were still there.
Then, I went and installed ICS. Internet was still buggy.
I then got Jelly Bean from Cyanomod. The internet was still the same.
Then I went back to the stock Gingerbread 2.3.5. My internet is still really annoyingly horrible and I don't know what to do.
Any solutions please?

To go back to stock you need to flash the the pit file to repatriation and put everything back in order. Found the forum in fascinate android development about going back to stock Verizon rom. I had a 3g issue when I first flashed AOKP b40. Going back to stock worked perfect to fix data. Then back to ics on AOKP. And if your gonna flash an ics rom make sure you flash THS build 2 first to lay the ground work for the next ics rom of your choice.

Maybe your radio got corrupted somehow? Try flashing a bunch of different ones to see if it helps... all that info is found in droidstyle's guide
edit: Oops sorry, somehow I skimmed over that part saying you already tried different radios. I agree with the above though, go back to stock via droidstyle's guide and see what happens...
I just stumbled across something that may help you... read this and try it out... some people have reported data issues being resolved after doing that update. I've never done it myself, but I think I'm going to start making it a habit
I just want to let everyone know that it is possible to go back to ICS after updating to 4.1.2(9.16.6) I was rooted on 4.1.1 today, used ota root keeper to temp unroot and update to 4.1.2 and restore root. I just used Matts RazrHD utility 1.10 and went back to ICS 4.0.4 with no problems what so ever...
Im not sure why its stated that once you update to the newest release that you cannot go back, but its possible. So for everyone that wants to try out 4.1.2 and didnt want to be stuck, you can downgrade.
Hope this helps.
Also for everyone willing to try to downgrade please post results and type of phone you have, also the way you downgraded...
Device: Razr HD XT926 US Verizon non dev ed.
Original firmware 4.0.4(0.6.25)
Used RazrHD Utility 1.10 to downgrade
UPDATE: 3/21
I tried to downgrade again so I can post screen shots for everyone, and it did not work this time!!! Something must have changed/sync'd with my phone since the last time I downgraded that did not sync the first time. This has been a strange experience, but I would not have posted if I really did not have success the first time! It now gives errors, and I have tried everything I could imagine. My phone is not bricked and I am still rooted and have SS.
Preserving the option to downgrade to ICS is certainly important to me. Please, what phone do you have and from what country is your carrier (and thus, presumably, your version of stock ICS)?

I will add it to the OP
OK ... I've got to know. Why did you leave 9.1.2 immediately after upgrading to it? The knowledge that downgrading back to 4.0.4 from 4.1.2 is certainly valuable, but knowing what prompted you to upgrade and then so quickly downgrade would be valuable to know as well. Did the upgrade go smoothly? Did the upgrade not function as expected?

No it was fine... I had some weird problems with data switching, from wifi to mobile... Sometimes it wouldn't switch back to mobile after turning off wifi but that was only a couple of times. I really just wanted to see if it was possible to downgrade and was willing to do it even though I could of been stuck without a phone. I also like to start fresh by downgrading and wiping/formatting my sd card every month or so. Im back on 4.1.1 now and will probably go to 4.1.2 soon on my stock slot either way.
What I did was Remote into a DROID RAZR HD owner's computer and flash the ICS boot.img file through fastboot. It failed pre-flash validation so I flashed to new boot.img back on there and considered it a case closed.
If it works to go back by using the Utility, thats great news. However I am not going to remove the warning until I get more than just one confirmation on it.
great news thx

I have JB 4.1.2 now and using Matt's tool, I can't seem to get it to downgrade. It will run through the process, then it will just boot up into 4.1.2 again. It gets a couple failed things along the way.
Because I'm still weighing whether to upgrade to 4.1.2 can you tell me -- did you get 4.1.2 OTA or did you flash a file? If you did a "manual" upgrade, how is the experience? Problems? Anything not working, or not working right?
Ota, everything went fine during the upgrade. Just make sure if you are rooted to activate stock slot and wipe all other slots. I also restored a backup of stock jb 4.1.1 I made a week ago with all apps updated and working. Then just booted up and temp unrooted with ota root keeper and accepted the ota. Restored root after it booted. Only thing that was different from other updates is that safe strap did not work afterwards so I had to uninstall and reinstall.
I don't see much improvement, but I just got back to 4.1.2 late last night after downgrading so that's not much time to tell if the improvements are there. I have not tried HDMI out yet,but will later today.
If anyone else tries to downgrade to stock 4.0.4 ICS from this latest update 4.1.2, please post what type of phone you have and if it worked for you. Any problems...???

You don't have to wipe your rom slots.just go back to stock slot take the ota and then reinstall safestrap recovery (not the program).your roms will still be there and functional.

Don't know how I've missed all this "stock slot, rom slots" business. I've rooted Android phones and tablets, installed custom ROMs, I've still a noob but learning. Does "slots" refer to all that sdcard0, sdcard1, usbdisk_1.0 business in /storage? I don't think I'd seen that on any of my devices until I got my Maxx HD with 4.1.1. Or are slots part of SafeStrap (I have that too but only because it was on my phone when I bought it on eBay)? Upgrading to 4.1.2 sounds like it goes smoothly if you do it right and is a pain if you don't. Sure would appreciate a little guidance that's specific to this set of tasks.
Well I feel like an idiot. I got the leaked 4.1.2 and now it's literally impossible to downgrade. I hadn't installed any bootloaders/roots/ or anything before doing this, so now that my phone is 4.1.2, it's basically stuck there.
I've tried hours and hours of everything. If anyone has any idea on how to bypass this I'd be grateful.

I downgraded successfully yesterday, so I reported my experience... I have no reason to lie, otherwise I would not have posted this in the first place!
I had some problems with my comp. and the usb/moto drivers on win7 today so I was trying to fix that before I could try again. I attempted to downgrade/restore to ICS again and this time it did not work! I cant see how it worked for me yesterday and today it wont? I was so happy when it worked, but something must have changed within the last day which is odd. I always upgrade and root the same way, and I have tried everything today to get it to downgrade with no luck. My phone still works so it is not bricked, and I apologize to everyone, like I said it did downgrade yesterday with the RazrHD utility 1.10 and there were no errors what so ever. Now after it asks you to hit any key once the phone comes back on in FB errors come right up. Some things seem to flash though, which is strange and basically it does a factory reset on the 4.1.2 . SS is still installed, its still rooted, and works fine. I can even restore back up of 4.1.1 stock jb(which I made last night after I downgraded to ICS and was upgrading again) on stock slot after wiping data/cache/dalvic and system and boot up to show 4.1.1 and then either try to downgrade, which fails, or take the ota and/or flash 4.1.2 manually but it fails also. Then I just reflash a back up of 4.1.2 and its fine IDK... I also flashed Vit 1.9.3 on stock slot fine, boots etc. but still wont let me downgrade. Then I tried uninstalling all updated apps on 4.1.2 and clearing data on all apps, still nothing.
So for some reason it let me successfully downgrade yesterday, but not anymore. So like many people have said do not try until there's a safe way, unless you are willing to risk bricking.
I am downloading the 4.1.2 fastboot files now.

I have friends in the Firmware Team
Hello everyone.
I recently got a GS4, and it has the MF9 update. I've been suffering from poor data connection, dropped signal, etc. After doing some searching, I've found that it is a well known problem.
My questions for you guys:
1) If I root and install a custom rom based on MF9, will I have the same issues?
2) Would I be better off just rooting and installing the latest OTA before MF9?
Thank you!
Custom rom might help. I'm stock rooted mf9 and have no problem whatsoever.

Your connections issues are with your phone (hardware or software), sprint's network or you location.
Doubtful that a ROM will make 'much' difference if you already have problems.
What might help is starting at complete stock MF9 - rwilco12 has a full 'one-click' with root here There is also a full wipe (clears the data partition too) that might be a better option for starting out.
Then once you get your phone activated update the PRL and then the Profile.
THEN maybe start thinking about ROMs. Spend some time looking reading and then reading some more and you will find what you need.
Im having signal issues but they are workinh on lte upgrades right now in my area I got much better connection today after flash comadose mod, I went from around 500 kbps to 2 mbps quite a change and I love it but im still having trouble with 3g dropping out completely still in areas I get 2mbps and then it comes back after like a couple mins sometimes I see an ehrpd error code when it happens

Thanks for all the great info. I'm just at a loss as to what the problem could be. I don't think it's the phone itself; the previous owner said he had zero issues with it. I thought it could be Sprint's crappy network, but I activated my iPhone 5 for a few hours and had none of the issues I have on the GS4

Well since you say you got it used - from someone else, I'd re-iterate reloading the entire stock MF9 from the .tar (or one-click) to reload/reset all partitions and take it back to stock. Without starting fresh you (and us here) have no real idea what is on it.
Then again with what I recommended previously.

Did you restore via Odin? or just the zip(s)
If problem persists after full Odin to stock, updating PRL and Profile then I'd say it's your device. Look at warranty. You could try some tweaks like ComaDose etc. But if they don't do the trick then I don't know.
I just got myself a Verizon Note 3. This is one power house of a phone. I noticed the kid I got it from does have it rooted. The only annoyance I see is allot of stuff is showing in the status bar with Chinese writing. is this normal or did he use some dumb way to root it? Also it still has 4.3 on it. I tried to update it but I get the message that "software update is currently unavailable". Is this because the Note is rooted?
I have done some searching and I did get the files for flashing it back to stock. Odin, .mkz, and the Samsung drivers. So if this update message is because it's rooted, I do have the stuff to flash it back to stock. I do also know how to use Odin as it's the same program for flashing the Note 1, which I did have. But any insight you guys can give me would be great. Thanks

Since you're on MJE 4.3 see this thread and go to post 2 NC2/MJE instructions...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2787627
Thanks for the info gamer but I'm not looking to root or flash roms. with this phone. At least not yet anyway. It's new to me so I really need to be as familiar with it as possible before I go flashing roms and tweaks and such. I'm not familiar with the names MJE, NC2, NC4 etc. so trying to explain that to me is just like speaking German to me right now. All I want to do for the here and now is get it back to stock un rooted 4.3, take the update to 4.4.2, and then check on the need for root then.
I also will need to look into what's safe to flash, what needs to be run, app wise, in order to flash some things. Take for instance my last phone, lg optimus g pro, you needed an app called freegee to get past the bootloader. If you screwed that up, you bricked yer phone. I'm sure some of the processes for this phone are similar in that respect. So no fiddling for me just yet. So in short, could you just tell me in simple terms if I have the correct stuff to flash it back to stock?
I currently have the latest Samsung drivers, Odin 3 V3.0.9, and the tar file named "ALL_N900VVRUBMJE_N900VVZWMJE_2106277_REV03_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5.7z"
Is this what is needed to flash it to stock 4.3? Also, if you don't mind, could you tell me if there is ANY way, a modem flash perhaps, to get my LTE working with this AT&T Straight Talk sim card? Currently I am getting H+ which isn't bad but it's no LTE. Thanks a bunch.
EDIT: Well, that was easy. My computer ran the Verizon software and it failed to update it so it did the repair and repaired it with kitkat. So one issue solved. Now If I can just get LTE working on here it would be great....lol

You can flash different modems in Odin but I don't know if they'll get you running on AT&T Straight Talk, someone else will have to chime in on that.
Att straight talk might work if you have the correct apn settings but you will not get 4g

Yeah I am finding this out Roger. I want to root and enable the hidden menu. I am seeing posts about doing this and getting the 4g LTE working. The problem is most of these posts pertain to the T-Mobile branded note 3.
