so i just rooted and got 6.1 beta 4 working at all of a sudden the home button stopped working? all i was doing was trying to mount the SD card (which was not working) so i pulled the sd card (was using an extra 4 gig card) then i noticed the home button not working anymore? what can i do to fix this?
i have tried a factory reset and i have also tried re flashing the rom... but the home button keeps not working? its working fine to navigate around in clockwork though so i know its not a hardware issue...?
I'm assuming u made a back up before hand, restore that in clockworkmod. If not then I would install VEGAn rom. Normally flashing a new rom will fix most problems.

Hello I have stock TMobile Us Hd2 with the latest stock rom....just trying to figure out what would be the best rom for my devivce......i've tried a couple if you have any idea let me know thanx
I too am interested in the answer to this
Tried a Froyo one but get robot voice.
great work BTW developers: very impressive port
Thanks,
Laird
I'm using MCCM Froyostone Sense 3.2 . I have the 1024mb nvram equipped t-mob US Leo.
I'm using a cheap Microcenter 8gb micro sd, and it works well but I've had crashes with Market once while installing several apps in line, and with Zeam, repeatedly.
After crashes, resetting the phone without the SD card present fixes an odd problem: Windows mobile will not launch either CLRCAD.EXE or HARET.EXE . I also pull my SIM, lest some text messages get stuck in Windows* .
The reset that fixes it is the full factory restore performed by turning it off completely or pulling the battery, holding both volume up and volume down buttons and then pressing the red button (end, power, whatever).
*TM.

Hi
Sorry if this has been cleared up in another thread, but I cannot find the answer to this problem.
I am running Gingerbread 2.3 (Cynogen) on my phone via the file manager method. Everything was fine until one day after I booted back into Android after a normal soft reset - The keyboard would keep hitting "Q" no matter what I pressed. I could not open The browser as I would get an error message.
I thought maybe it was the extended battery I was using, so I reformatted my sd card, re booted gingerbread and everything was back to normal.
Then last week it happened again. I dont remember installing anything new. It is also not the build Im sure, because this did happen a while ago on another Cynogen mod I used.
I am pulling my hair out wondering what to do. There is no point in reinstalling it because it will happen at a seemingly random time again.
Does anyone have any clue or suggestions on how to fix this??
Thanks

Maybe it's a bug in the ROM
Try different rom and see if this problem still persists, if yes, maybe a hardware problem related issue
Cheers
There are a few roms with 100% support for the official extended batteries(s). Your best bet is to go with one of them.

Dear all,
I bought my wife a Galaxy y from t-mobile. I noticed when I locked the device via the button on the right and put the device in standby, I cannot wake up the phone by pressing the home button and get the screen to unlock the device by wiping. Only when I press the home button fot long time and sometimes twice for a long time, I manage to get the unlock screen. Very annoying. And when I do this, the sd card has to be remounted every time. Does anyone have had similar issues? Phone is on GB2.3.5 with LA2 rom if i'm correct. LH2 is the new release.
There's a software update available via Kies, but is not installed yet. Could it solve the issue? I hope someone can help. Thanks
Update the device, maybe the problem is due to update............
Did you check your lockscreen settings? Check there, you may put long press option there. Btw are you on stock rom or custom rom?

You've got quite a strange problem man! Maybe some glitch with your framework-res.apk. Do a full wipe (data & cache), and see if it resolves the problem. If it dosen't then flash the latest stock firmware.
Thanks for all responses. I was on Kernel LC1 and now after the update on LH1. But more important is that the issue is solved. Now home button works fine and no strange messages about memory card anymore. So I'm happy now...or better my wife
Don't know what's going on but after I updated to 5.0 on my Canadian note 3 I lost the back button and my menu button sends me to a search. My menu and back button will work normally with the spen though.
When I flash android kitkat through Odin the buttons work normally again.
Is there a setting I'm not seeing? I've tried searching but only found issues pertaining to note 5

This happened to other Samsung devices too for the screen replacement in android 4.4.2.
It's strange. This is exactly what I did
-Got the phone off kijiji. Was running 5.0. Back button worked fine.
- rooted and installed recovery. Back button worked fine.
- made a full backup of the phone. Back button worked fine.
- installed note 5 port rom. Back button worked fine.
- decided to go back to my backup. Back button stopped working.
- reinstalled note 5 port rom. Back button worked again.
- installed official 5.0 firmware with Odin. Back button won't work.
- installed 4.4.2 official firmware with Odin. Back button worked fine.
- did Ota update to 5.0. Back button stopped working.

Hi,
Did you ever find a solution? I have managed to get latin american versions of 5.0 to install and this restored the menu/back button, but at the cost of having severe bloatware or no AWS support.

My buddy got this phone for his gf so that she could use it overseas. The phone was in bad shape when he got it and I was able to to flash a custom rom Phonesis and it seemed to work fine. Out of the blue, the wifi and bluetooth stopped responding. So I now have this phone again and I am about ready to toss it.
I restored to factory using Kies 3.2. When it rebooted, the soft keys did not work. I installed the idlekernal for canadian models using Odin and that fixed that. Soft keys now work. Camera is not working. Wifi will not turn on. If it does, it sees my networks but will not allow it to connect. Bluetooth does the same thing.
I am not sure what I am missing as the phone has been restored twice and I have cleared the cache, reset everything and rebooted.
Does anyone have any recommendations or can recommend a working recovery and rom that will let her use the camera and wifi.
Flash correct stock rom through Odin.
