Maybe try using another usb
or else
Go to recovery mode and restore your phone to factory settings.
you can also do it by going into settings->privacy->factory reset data
hope this helps:laugh::good:
try to reset the phone via odin,
there are tutorials in the general thread
You haven't installed the drivers. If you have, then they aren't right,
In doky73's thread, move to the second post, there's a link to the USB Drivers.

Download mode not working

Hi. I tried to find a thread with my problem but I couldn't so I'm creating this one.
I have a Samsung Galaxy s4 i9500 with a custom kit kat rom (OzcanRom). I tried to revert to stock using odin but I can't make download mode work. When I start the phone in download mode it immediately says "Downloading do not turn off target" altough I haven't connected to the computer yet. The phone does not respond so I have to take the battery to restart. If I connect the phone to the computer, the computer doesn't recognize it. It doesn't even appears on device manager (I also looked for unknown devices and it is not there).
I tried to do a factory reset through recovery but it doesn't work. Odin worked previously so I don't know what it doesn't works now.

Hi
The message Downloading do not turn off target is normal when in download mode even if you are not connected to the PC , what you mean the phone does not respond? what do you see in Odin , does Odin acknowledge that the phone is connected?
If Odin does not respond try this:
Odin troubleshooting: If Odin accidentally gives you "fail" try the following:
- Repeat procedure.
- Make sure that all actions of Kies are disabled from task manager.
- Change usb port.
- Try another usb cable (make sure it is the original).
- Try another Odin version.
- Uninstall and re-install driver.
- Use pit file.
- Try another computer.

You were right, another usb cable solved the problem. The message "Downloading do not turn off target was misleading". Thank you so much!

Unable to flash any rom after Odin flashing error

My Note 4 is n910cq with Exynos and I downloaded Android 6 from an xda thread and while I try to flash it through odin I got an error. After that the phone stuck with a screen says"firmware upgrade encountered an issue please select recovery mode ın kies and try again". I can put the phone into download mode but not able to get it to recovery mode. I tried to flash older roms but still keep getting error in odin. I tried Samsung smart switch app through upgrade section but no result. So, what to do?
it happens to me also because the phone disconnects while flashing , so you need to change the usb port ..keep trying to place it in a different usb port or even try to change the usb cable
