First off Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it.
Ok so i am wondering a couple things. I have an HD2 with one of Mdeejay's blends on it. I use launcher pro so looks aren't really gonna change too much. currently I am having huge battery drain. I'll charge over night and cant seem to get past 80%
1. Which Rom is the best on battery power?
2. Are there any underlying things in WINMO that maybe I should turn off before starting android?
3. Are there any underlying things in my android build that I can turn off?
4. My task killer seems to always get full even when I don't start certain apps, is there anything I can do about this?

1. Some roms may cause problems, but all compatible ones shouldn't have influence on battery life. It's just hit & miss, try the one MDJ suggests. (probably mentioned in his thread)
2. There are some tweaks available yes, I personally doubt they work though. I get good standby battery life w/o even having looked at those tweaks. Just search for registry tweaks on this forum.
3. You can always turn off mobile data, sync, 3G (and obviously wifi, bluetooth, and low screen brightness). Install setCPU to underclock your processor (again, there's a lot of informative threads on this already)
4. Uninstall your task killer and never think about it again. They only do evil on Android. Having apps in your RAM memory is now actually a good thing, as opposed to windows. (yet again, a lot on this can be found through search.)
About the max of 80%: your battery isn't calibrated well. Either search for batterystats.bin on this forum and you'll find a guide on how to recalibrate, or reinstall your android build with a 100%, completely charged battery. Check the percentage in WinMo, and then leave it turned off for half an hour to make sure it's reaaally fully charged.
Completely agree with the above, with the exception of SetCPU. You're far better off with a recent kernel (I'm having great success with MDJ S6.1) setcpu is pretty much redundant now unless all you're interested in is melting your processor with ridiculous overclocks and pointless benchmark scores. ("Oh look I get three more points in quadrant than you but my phone reboots every 15 seconds")
After I performed my battery calibration I get two days moderate use out of my phone with no problems.
what if I were to charge to the full 80% then re-flash wouldn't that make it so the battery is 100%... also if i can only get 80% I would think that a flash at 80 would tell my phone it was 100 when in actuality it was 80. Maybe I'm confused about the whole battery conditioning issue.

You might want to read my post again, I suggested to install setCPU to underclock the CPU, to improve battery life. I don't quite see the point in overclocking either.
Iv always considered battery life a very important factor in my purchasing of a phone and was one of the big reasons i moved from my Desire HD to the Nexus S (amongst many others). However having been on the android scene for a while im used to tinkering with kernels and roms etc and due to the new battery graph in gingerbread im now able to make direct comparisons rom by rom and kernel by kernel to see how they all differ. This is all shown + explained below.
First id like to explain my method;
I install the rom and kernel with the same apps I always use and charge the phone fully until i am about to go to sleep. I then unplug the phone and leave it in the exactly the same place on my desk with exactly the same settings (sync intervals etc) and i kill all apps before i leave it just to make sure the test is fair.
In the morning i then take a screen shot of the battery life over the period of usually 8 hours and will upload this for you to see. I then look at the over-night battery drain as a comparison on how good battery life is on specific roms and kernels.
Justification - Many of you may be thinking who cares about standby battery life? I care about the battery when im using it!?
Well although that's valid there are many reasons i have taken this approach;
1. It is completely fair i.e. no individual differences such as 'im a heavy user' but we all have different definitions of a 'heavy user'. This is eliminated by the fact the phone is not used and thus the same every time (no individual differences)
2. If a phone has severe battery drain during sleep general knowledge should dictate that battery drain should increase when the screen is on, cpu is working and your syncing your facebook wall, thus a direct correlation with sleep battery drain and usage drain should be apparent.
Therefore i have decided over the next few days/weeks etc i will upload on a regular basis a screenshot of the battery drain over night, along with the battery use details and screen on time etc etc. In addition to the rom and kernel info and i hope that over time this proves to be a very useful thread.
I have been doing this over the last few days on a less strict system and there have been some VERY interesting results which i will upload over the next few days.
(Just a final note iv never really done anything like this on xda before so if its a stupid idea then please tell me now so i dont waste my time doing it, however if people are really interested please let me know and il make sure i do my best!!)

SCREENSHOT 1: This was using modacos custom rom r10 and the kernel that comes with it, i had quite a short sleep (about 6 hours) but the curve pretty much shows what the point im trying to make is. The battery life is great!!
SCREENSHOT 2: This is CM7 Nightly build 27# with Netarchy's latest 1.2.1 kernel and although i didnt use the screen once of charge for a few minutes as you can see once the screen was off battery life barely decreased and was over a long period of time.
If anyone wants me to test specific combos please let me know.

I'd be interested in seeing CM7, just whatever nightly build you manage to catch.
I don't think that result will give you precise result.
I found that statistic is wrong sometimes.
It is better to measure using "play video loop".
So, find a movie, set to the same brightness and play in loop?

Unfortunately that will not give you how well the rom does while it is idle.
I'm really looking forward to your results. My only issue with this phone is the battery life is terrible. I ordered an extended battery off Ebay 3 weeks ago and have yet to receive it. Never ordering anything from Hong Kong again!

What were you using before that you consider this phone to have bad battery life? By far this phone has the best battery life of any Android device I've owned. If you want bad battery life, get an Evo. That is horrific battery life.

I am looking forward to the rest of these, however just a quick question. What was your battery use like in that situation with the stock ROM? Just for reference, because I'm thinking I might switch to modaco soon. Thanks!

Iv got a few more screenies but it seems i may have to end this thread prematurely. Its the SNS or 2.3 but idle battery usage for me is pretty much identical no matter what the kernel or rom (il upload a CM7 + Netarchy 1.2.1 shot top op). This was unexpected on my behalf because with my DHD kernels and roms had a big impact on idle battery consumption. I have noticed however that without a full wipe when changing some kernels such as with M r10 idle battery life can increase drastically. I will continue for the next few days and if i dont see any big changes i may move method to a video loop or something of the sort.

I found out something today that may interest may of you. I was messing around with the sleep profiles on SetCpu with netarchys kernel and i found that its better to leave the range from 100-800 than 100-400 or less. This i believe is because when the phone is asleep and carries out a process it will be forced to clock to the maximum of 400mhz and then stay at that speed for 10 seconds, instead of say going up to 800mhz for 1-2 seconds to complete the same process. So a tip to you would be set your profile to 100-800mhz conservative and see what you get!

This kinda enforces the point that SetCPU is useless for the NS unless you really want to overclock...
Any battery saving tactics used buy lowering screen off profiles are counteracted by the system process;( So i think in the context of battery life you are probably better to not use SetCPU

I would definitely move to a video loop or some other 'heavy use' task because when you think about it, not too much can really be changed when almost no power is being used in the first place.
You could also just mention your general feeling for the battery life of each rom, because quite often that is what I go by as my usage varies depending on a range of things (school day or weekend etc) .

On CM nightly 13, I just went 11 hours and I'm at 90%. That's 1/2% an hour. Not bad. That is with stock kernel.

Hi everyone! Long time XDA reader and I've had my Evo rooted for months. Now I have been dealing with its "poor" battery life for a long time and not really thinking much of it till I finally decided that rooting has to have some advantage for this. I average about 6-7 hours then my phone dies...
After doing a little research I read some people getting 15-20+ hours out of their phone with heavy use...I was amazed...I decided to try to get better battery life on my phone and this is what I am trying right now. I just want to make sure I am on the right path with it and that I am not doing anything seriously wrong.
-I am trying Cynogens ROMs - CM7 I tried for a day and that gave me about 7 hours of battery life...still no real improvments. I am trying Cynogens 7 Nightly 12 now to see if that works.
-I am trying different Kernels. Been getting them on the HTC EVO kernels page. Right now I am using stock HTC one.
-Should I try different radios too? Where can I go to find different radios if so.
-What order should I be installing radios/kernels/roms?
-I have donated and am using Set CPU now also and have the screen off cpu power really low.
-Am I on the right path trying out different ROMS/ Kernels/ Radios to optimize my battery life? Is there anything else I can be trying?

But you seem to be doing everything okay. My only hesitation would be to say make sure you're giving Kernels adequate time to settle into your phone. Unless something is HORRIBLY wrong with them, you shouldn't switch/judge them until at least two days in
Radios should not make a difference in your battery life.
Also, be aware that CM is NOT optimized for battery life. There are a couple of ROMs that will give you unheard of battery life if you would like though (Myn's comes to mind). It's a trade off though. CM is hands down the fastest ROM you'll run...but in my experiences is in the lower tier of battery.

The one I used was...I had thought sense UI drained battery more than CM for example that is just plain stock android gingerbread?
@Cheesy again: Ultimate Juice? Is that an app on the mkt place? How much did it help you? I'm willing to donate and pay for apps to support the devs if they really make a noticeable difference.
Another thing..when you install a ROM does it automatically install a Kernel too? Or are those 2 separate?

with UJ i get 18-19 or more on a full charge with phone being used 80% of the day .
with out i was changing out batteries after 9 hours or so ( i normally work 12 - 13 hours a day )
yes its in the market but gingerbread support is not public yet ( closed beta )
also check in spareparts for any wakelocks you might be having
for a sense rom myns are great so are Ava's,caulkins and Miks

I just recently started seeing great battery life with my rooted Evo. I flashed MikFroYo 4.5 with a stock htc kernal.
I use juice defender and that's it. I've been getting just over a day per charge for the past two weeks.
I wouldn't say that's with heavy use as a good 6-7 hours of that time are accounted for when I'm asleep. I do about 30-50 texts a day. About 10 minutes of calls and I check facebook and twitter all the time. My data use varies depending on the day but I do use youtube and pandora pretty regularly as well.
just make sure background data is disabled. accounts and sync>background data. I have no issues with battery life on stock sprint evo.
of course it is a 3500mah battery
My wife and I just bought two EVOs a week and a half ago, and I quickly became interested in improving the battery life on the phone. My first attempts were rooting my phone and installing OverClock Widget, and using minimal settings when the screen was off. With that change alone, and comparing to my wife's phone from a full overnight charge, my phone was able to make it 14-16 hours with moderate use. My wife's phone would die after 8-9 hours of moderate use. Granted, there's obviously going to be a difference between my moderate use and hers, but even testing with screens off and letting them idle for an hour, there was a definitive difference in battery consumption between our phones.
I went one step further and installed CM7 Nightly 12 just yesterday... already I'm noticing even further improvement in battery life, but the majority of those savings are when my phone is idle. Overnight, my battery only drained 7%, whereas my wife's drained much more than that. My battery has been at 39% for the past 3 hours at idle, so I imagine that with my version of "standard usage", I would be able to possibly get higher than 16 hours of usage per charge (can't wait until I do the full calculation testing tomorrow!).
Here are some observations I've had in all of this:
1) Check out Greenfieldan's list of battery tips and tricks. Some of these are very simple and actually had a significant impact on both my phone and my wife's phone (especially shutting off data and disabling auto-synch). I'm new to the forums, but this is one of the first things I checked out. This is a great place to start.
2) Battery consumption is obviously affected by how frequently you use your phone, and what you are doing with it. I say this because it's easy to read threads about what techniques work and see mixed results, but I don't see alot of people really admitting how much or how little they use their phones. I'd say I'm a more conservative user of my phone, but I still have my texting, browsing, and even occasional streaming, GPS using and general fiddling. So in other words, your mileage may vary with any given technique.
3) This is my personal opinion, but think about when you ideally want to be charging your phone, and try and anticipate usage around it. It sounds strange, but I've come to my own conclusion that an optimal charge for me (not necessarily possible, but optimal) will give either 12 or 36 hours of usage time. This is because I like to charge my phone overnight, so if I get 18 hours of battery life, I'm unfortunately wasting 4-6 of them. If I get 24 hours of usage, then that means that by the next morning, I need to charge again. So I plan ahead and charge at night, and use through the day. This was particularly useful when I first started with the phone and was getting a max of 8-9 hours. I'd know when to unplug, and how well it would get me through the day.
Anyway, at this point I'm rambling, but since it is still very fresh in my mind I wanted to share my thoughts. Hopefully this helps.

Sorry it took me so long to reply.
Anyhow, from my testing on mine and three other phones Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo has the best battery life (although some of them were right on par with it). Specifically his RLS 3 and RLS 4. Did you try Warm Z? Because the battery life on that ROM is no where NEAR his 2.2 ROM.
Also, Sense CAN be a major drain on battery. If you make it so it's not syncing all the time/doing the random shenanigans it defaults to I'd argue it's better than AOSP (based on my experience with both).
Yes, your Kernel might have been an issue. Do you know which one you were using? HAVS? CFS? BFS? Etc.
Just for my phone comparison, CM7 (which I am running now) requires me to charge my phone at least once a day. Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo was every other day/every day and a half.

You can set juice defender to turn on data to sync at set intervals; anywhere from 15min to every couple of hours. If you can stand to wait 15 minutes for that email then I would recommend it. I personally like not being interrupted every time I get an email.
Also, make sure your kernel and setCPU aren't trying to both control the same thing. I really like using a kernel with HAVS so I avoid apps that also try to modulate my CPU.
I've tried warm 2.2 and really like it. Although I think I'm getting slightly better battery with Azrael X 4.0 with netarchy 4.3.1-cfs-havs-nosbc and ultimate juice controlling only my data and WiFi connections.
Also,the 3500mah battery is worth every penny if you don't mind the extra thickness.

I read Greenfieldan's step on the forum here about a week ago, and jsut the HTC Method of battery calibration alone changed my battery life completely.
I also dumped Advanced Task Killer.
In another thread, I rad that CM is the worst drain on a battery and I personally think the guy that wrote that is sadly mistaken. Even with all the steps taken in Greenfieldan's guide, Sense based ROMs are battery killers. They are the worst, by far, and I average battery drain at about 15-20% pr hour, even with screen off.
The #2 killer, is having your screen on. Waiting for that next text to come in with the screen on is not worth it, so turn it off when you're not using it.
With the setup in my sig, and moderate to heavy use, in 12 hours, I only drop about 25% with a Sedio 3500maH battery.
With Sense, like I said, quick battery death.
I'm using CM7 - Nightly 12 right now + Stock Kernel...I also have set cpu to change cpu usage when screen is off.
This combo was my first combo I started trying (2 days ago when I posted this) to test for increased battery life. I followed what some of you guys suggested and let it "work into my phone." Instead of giving up after 1 day of test.
Results! Just yesterday I had my phone on for 14 hours and it was at 18%! That is a HUGE improvement. Right now it is at 65% and I've had it on for about 5 hours. That's really long compared to what it was before! Before I tried changing the ROM, kernel and using Set CPU I would be at the red right now or around 15%.
Thanks you guys for all the suggestions! Any further advice would be greatly appreciated! (Only sad thing is that my GPS doesn't work with CM7 - Nightly 12 >_<...) Other than that I love it!
I'm looking for a ROM which can make my device hit at least 24 hours with light/moderate use. I know it's based on how the much the user interacts with the phone, signal strength, etc but there has to be a ROM which made your battery life amazing! I'm currently hitting about 12-14 hours with light to moderate use. I've seen people that use it the same amount and get nearly 2 days, how can I achieve this? I read somewhere that Pershoots kernel does well with extending battery life.
I'm currently on CM7 with the stock cm kernel.

Okay so in my experience to get 'good" battery life with a g2 you need to turn off your push updates, stay off of data as much as possible, and only hook into wifi when you need it. Make sure your screen is on for no longer than 30 seconds, turn down your brightness, and set some profiles under setcpu to downclock you after you get to sub X battery life. Just make sure to increase the priority the lower your battery life goes.
The best and most consistent battery life figure I've gotten is 42-48 hr by generally not being a complete dickwad. If you flash a rom and have to download all your apps again it is going to suck you dry. I ran Cm6.1.1 with preshoots kernel for a goodly while and have pulled the same speed/battery life as I do on Virtuous with Advanced Kernel. It's taken a couple days for it to settle in but yeah, you're looking at 42ish with moderate net usage, full signal, and darn near constant texting.
Edit: Let me clarify. As your power goes down you should downclock in 5% increments. For every 5% less battery power you have, you need to increase the priority of that profile by 5%. Make a profile that is 100% priority but downclocks your cpu to 350ish max and 200ish min. Also something to keep in mind is that every piece of hardware is different. Some people can report fantastic life on the same kernel and OS. Just one of those weird machine god things.

I know it's based on how the much the user interacts with the phone, signal strength, etc but there has to be a ROM which made your battery life amazing! I'm currently hitting about 12-14 hours with light to moderate use. I've seen people that use it the same amount and get nearly 2 days, how can I achieve this? I read somewhere that Pershoots kernel does well with extending battery life.
I'm currently on CM7 with the stock cm kernel.

I can get a day and a half with team villian sense ginger. The one before 3.0 best battery life i have seen yet. This is a 1.5days with constant OC no screen profiles or any kind of battery saving profiles. I would say im a slighty less then heavy user. Wifi always runs and i use gps for about an hour depending where im going. Now i normally charge her up every night but i have forgotten on ocasion and made it till i got home from work the next day.

+1 on villan rom, i set an off screen OC to 300MHZ and an on screen to 1.5Ghz, and i get 20+ hours out of it with mild data. wifi off unless im home and location always turned off unless i need it.
Might give that villian rom a try, is there a specific kernel I should use? Or should I just use the one that's already on the villian rom?

just download from the current thread, the 1.5 version, it has an kernel that OC's to 1.5GHZ and works well.
i would download as is, and if you like, play with the kernel later on if you really want to.
Or if you like sense get sense ginger. Im not sure how you can get the older version but you could try the new one.

The best and most consistent battery life figure I've gotten is 42-48 hr by generally not being a complete dickwad. If you flash a rom and have to download all your apps again it is going to suck you dry. I ran Cm6.1.1 with preshoots kernel for a goodly while and have pulled the same speed/battery life as I do on Virtuous with Advanced Kernel. It's taken a couple days for it to settle in but yeah, you're looking at 42ish with moderate net usage, full signal, and darn near constant texting.
Edit: Let me clarify. As your power goes down you should downclock in 5% increments. For every 5% less battery power you have, you need to increase the priority of that profile by 5%. Make a profile that is 100% priority but downclocks your cpu to 350ish max and 200ish min. Also something to keep in mind is that every piece of hardware is different. Some people can report fantastic life on the same kernel and OS. Just one of those weird machine god things.

He is right, but lots of us has been through several ROMs and I can say that from the look of it all the ROMs use lots of battery life due to all the running processes. If you end up finding a ROM that supports your needs post it and let everyone know. Hope I helped

Secondly all credit goes to the wonderful people that work endlessly to make these wonderful Roms and Kernels. Without you guys Android wouldn't be what it is today!
Third: Please make a back up and use this guide at your own risk. I don't want to bare the weight of someone turning their phone into a paperweight by using this guide.
Alright, Now lets get to the fun part.
Case you've already forgotten why you're ready this topic. This is my rough how-to guide on getting easily over 2 days out of a single charge on your phone, Very much possible to push 3 or more days depending on use and other varying factors.
What you're going to need to start:
- Rooted Nexus S 4G with a custom recovery like Clockwork mod.
- Flash the following Rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1417499
- Flash the following Kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436313
-Flash the following "KL2" Radio update http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1077168
After you have flashed all the above and confirmed your phone is running stable with all the default settings. Charge your phone to 100% and reboot back into recovery, and WIPE YOUR BATTERY STATS
Now. Lets begin configuring your rom and kernel!
- Install CPU MASTER FREE from the android market https://market.android.com/details?id=com.antutu.CpuMasterFree&hl=en
Set the following on CPU Master
- CPU Speed 800 MAX and 100MIN
- CPU Governor CONSERVATIVE
- and Scheduler set to CFQ
- Make sure to click apply on boot as well
- Now Install NSTOOLS from the Android market https://market.android.com/details?id=mobi.cyann.nstools&feature=search_result
Set the following on NSTOOLS
- DEEP IDLE: ENABLED
- Backlight Dimmer: ENABLED
- Make sure Backlight Notifications are left disabled. It keeps phone from idling properly.
- Leave all other settings alone and make sure to check set on boot
- Now lastly install Antutu Battery Saver from the Android Market

Activate Battery Saver and set to level 2 battery save. Easy as that.
Basically your done! =)
If you notice your phone has a slightly worse or little to no improvement on the battery this is due to you deleting your battery stats. As you use your phone it will write new stats and you will begin to notice a difference after a few cycles. Just make sure your battery is charged when you wipe them, Let the phone run almost completely dead. Plug it up, Let it charge back to 100%, Unplug it. Rinse and repeat. Just be sure to unplug it when you notice it's fully charged even if you don't plan on going anywhere. Just let it sit and run on battery so that it calibrates the battery stats while it's idle as well.
Now as you should already know your battery life is going to heavily depend on use and SIGNAL STRENGTH. It seems a lot of people don't realize the more signal you have the longer your battery will last. If you're in an area with very low signal it can kill your phone in a matter of hours.
I have attached a screen shot of my battery life using this above method. Other settings I will mention
- WIFI ENABLED and CONNECTED
- Bluetooth and NFC DISABLED
- Automatic backlight control enabled
- Facebook notifcations, Weather and Contacts are the only things set to SYNC on my phone.
- Usage: Light to moderate. This includes a few texts throughout the day. A few phone calls, and a brief checking of facebook every now and then.
If I'm missing anything I will update this post. That is all for now. Happy modding and may this tutorial work the same wonders for you as it did me.
Also I should state that the phone finally died at around 2Days 17hrs on battery. My goal for 3 straight days was cut short after a few 30 minute phone calls and other work I had to do on the phone.

I thought it was the More Bars you have the more Data Kills Your Battery... but sprints 3G sucks .. some users only experience a .5kbs to 1.0 Mbs (if your lucky) ... that being said I think that's why your battery lasts longer. But then again I'm on Wifi so my battery has lasted all day ^_^ 15% left. Nfc on , Bluetooth off , screen at 50% brightness and heavy usage. Buuuut in your screen shot below your on 3G ... the 2 days.. was it always on Wifi?

I don't use any "power-saving" apps, just AOKP Milestone 2 with Steve Garon's 1.14 kernel to run 50hrs with nearly 4hrs of screen time.
100/1100mhz, interactive governor, standard voltage, bln/bld on, wifi used whenever available. It doesn't help that my office is in a poor signal area - battery life would be much better if the signal reception bar stayed green all the time.

Screen time out is on 30 seconds. and Wifi was connected virutally through the entire time, exception was when I visited a friends house which is why in the screenshot it does not say it's connected, However it was still active.

Those are very nice stats, Question, On your battery log, What are the massive drops in battery from? low signal or just heavy use on your phone?
Also I believe I'm going to go back an retry my experiment with SmartassV2 governor and On Demand. because I recently read they are better than conservative.
By all means play around with these settings and if you report back something I can approve on I will be happy to update this post and give credit to whoever finds more tricks to improving the battery life even more =)

They're from heavy use, probably angry birds or web browsing. The poor signal usually results in much slower drain.

Not saying you're wrong, but based on past experience when I lived in an area where my phone was constantly losing and gaining signal or especially switching between Verizon (Roaming) and Sprint to find a signal, My phone would get very warm and it would cause massive battery drain.
Also in regards to the Sprints 3G speed.
Here in town where I live now, with the new KL2 radio

I have attached screenshots of 3G speeds. It seems today when I ran the test the speeds aren't that special, I guess it all depends on network load.

I can get about 4-5 hrs on screen-on time a day with a full charge before it dies. I couldn't imagine spreading that amount of time over three days unless I was travelling again or something lol

How do you get your phone to idle so well? I can never get the battery stats to flatline like that. Could it be due to me having BLN turned on as the OP said that causes an idle bug?

There's a possibly you're running an app in the background that's preventing your phone from deep idling. Also try the battery saving app I mentioned in the post as well. It works wonders for some, and others don't notice difference. There's a lot of varying factors.
Have you wiped your battery stats and calibrated your battery with the method I mentioned above? Also you can check to see if your phone is deep idling by going into NSTools and clicking Idle stats.
If you see that your idle numbs are higher than your deep idle stats, Than yes, Something is preventing you're phone from doing so, and I would recommend disabling BLN and seeing if that fixes it.
It could be an issue with BLN and it may not be. My entire post is basically the steps and settings I've figured out and tweaked on my own to achieve maximum battery. I've read around and it seems some others have used BLN without any noticeable difference in battery at all. I guess it really just depends.
Also to the other post, The main reason I run my phone unclocked is basically, in use, I prefer the CPU to be at the lowest max speed possible, while remaining smooth, and I've noticed no lag at 800max, So therefor even when I'm using my phone it's still not going to be pulling as much power as if lets say I had it set to 1000 or 1100. Overclocking is great, Don't get me wrong, but unless you're doing something heavy like gaming or a sheet ton of crazy multitasking, I don't really think it's worth it. That's just my opinion though =)

How exactly am I handicapping? I had people asking me how I was getting my battery life and wanted me to post up details on it, so I decided I would. I run an underclocked phone because like I stated in my previous post, I don't see the point in running a overclocked phone unless you're going for benchmarks or doing a lot of heavy multitasking and then by all means, Take the 5 seconds to change your max CPU speed. If you're referring to me not running BLN, That's because for some, including me it keeps your phone from idling and will cause battery drain. It works fine for some, others it doesn't. I'm SURE it's a problem on my end, but until I get it worked out I'm just leaving it off for now.
I've been learning about rooting and modding since the Sprint HTC Hero days. I'm far from a professional and will be the first to admit I'm an amateur compared to you guys, I cannot develop, I cannot code. I'm simply wrote this guide as a reference point for people wanting to get good battery life, That's why I said tweak with the settings and have fun.
The main reason I'm so ecstatic about the battery life, is up until now I've barely been able to get a days normal use out of an android phone even running custom roms and all that good stuff. Now I can actually use my phone throughout the day, Throw it on my dresser at night, and wake up the next morning with still enough charge to use it again without having to worry about plugging it up every night.
Home or not, this info can prove to be very useful depending on an individual's circumstance. I work multiple jobs and when I get home, sometimes I'm so tired I don't even bother to fiddle with my phone's charging cable and just crash on my bed. I've gotten great battery life using similar tactics (went to bed with a 13% charge once, woke up with the thing still alive and kicking), so again, some may find this extremely helpful. Good work!
