I flashed a new rom yesterday with a custom kernel, it is running way warmer than the stock one...
Does anyone have a .zip file for the kernel to flash in recovery?
Please and thank you!
Please post questions in General section.
I'm asking for someone to post the stock kernel, I'm not asking a question. This should be in the Dev thread.

is there a zip for CWM update on 3.1 roots? like just have the zip in SD and install so i can overclock from setCPU? sorry for wrong section, but i need like 8 more post to post in development.
Flash a new kernel like Tiamat through CWR (found in development section.) And general or Q&A section is for questions, not development section.

As he said, flash the kernel of your choice. Boot image first then select 1.4, 1.5, or 1.6 and this is the correct place to post as this has nothing to do with development.

After downgrading back go gingerbread stock safe from overcome, I put CM9, gapps, and overcome kernel in root, as per directions.
I then went into recovery and installed CM9, however I can not see overcome kernel in there anywhere. Why is that so?

overcome kernel? are you installing cm9 or overcome? cm9 its ics, overcome is gb, why you looking for overcome kernel?? there is cm9 kernel for cm9 rom, it's totally different!!!
You read the instruction incorrectly.
After stock safe you must use odin to flash overcome kernel.
That will convert your partition to ext4 and give you cwm recovery.
Boot to recovery and flash cm9 rom then latest cm9 kernel, then gapps.
Btw: this should not be a new thread in dev section.
Mod, please move it. Thanks.

Right,first ROM,sencond Kernel,lastest is Gapps
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22159295&postcount=1585 faq
Post your problems in the General forum, questions in the Q&A forum and if you've developed something in the Development section.
Also you might want to search first before you ask.
@priyana - Report the post & I can respond to it. Just typing the word "Mod" does not summon me.

You must du so
I'm confused by kernals so some help would be appreciated.
When hashcodes kernal is complete will it come as part of a rom or will the kernal then the rom have to be flashed.
If then i want to say go back to modaco would i have to flag a new kernal and then modaco or is there a kernal included in that rom.
Apologies for what is probably a very basic question

Once it's final and ROM developers start using it: You won't have to worry about flashing it separately. Everything will come in the 1 .zip file and be installed automatically.
Thanks for that mate.
Keep up the good work.
hello, im newbie.
i'm using CM 10.1.3-mako stable. Android version is 4.2.2. i try franco kernel on stock rom and i like it.
So how can i install it on CM, which version i choose?
(i want it for battery life, if there is a better kernel for battery life for CM 10.1.3, please say)
Thanks.
First questions go in the question section.
Also if you went to the franco kernel thread you would find your answer

Before making any threads first please READ THE RULES. :good:
This general section and you should post your questions in Q&A section.
Yes you can directly flash the kernel on CM10.1.3 rom.
Goto franco's thread in Original dev section and download the 4.2.2 based kernel and flash it.
Moderators please move this thread. :good:
Press thanks if I helped you.:good:
CM has changed the way the ROM uses the kernel. 10-1-2013 is the last date you can use Franco's kernel anymore.
That link should provide more info.
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/80060-custom-kernels-issue/
OP is talking about cm10.1.3-- 4.2.2.
If you want Franco, you flash the same one you flashed on stock rom... r165 is the last 4.2 compatible kernel. It's right in the first post of the thread.
Thank you for all.

I have installed andycar custom rom.
Is it possible to unroot the rom?
p.s. btw posting a new thread on xda is buggy on chrome for some time now... the subject field is invisible.. I have to disable javascript to make it work...
normally yes, but why don't you ask in the rom thread, just to be sure about a specific answer to your specific rom ?
