First I need to tell - I was searching the forum and net, but unfortunately I can't find what I'm exactly looking for.
(I'm asking about Wizard not Universal / Himalaya...)
What is in your opinion the best (easiest, fastest, most readable with 320x240 resolution, working full screen and in landscape mode, cheapest...) way to remotely connect to the desktop workstation?

1A. Command line / shell via ssh/ssh2 – there’s no need to use any special server software nor configuration, but there’s a question about the best client software. Right now I'm going to use http://www.pocketputty.net/. Did you try any of these with Wizard?
PocketPuTTY 0.1 for WM2003 (stable)
PocketPuTTY 0.2 for PPC2002 (highly experimental, unstable)
PocketPuTTY 2006-05-04 dev snapshot for WM2003 (latest, highly experimental)
How stable is the “dev snapshot” version and is there any other (free or almost free) ssh/ssh2 client for PocketPC?
I used to use PuTTY for Symbian S60 and it worked like a charm...
1B. Remote Desktop – what is the best client-server software to do it?
I used to use VNC for Linux PC – Linux PC connection, but I’m not sure if it’s good idea to use VNC with (so) small screen. Any tips and tricks or suggestions how to configure both ends?
[2] Connecting to WindowsXP PC
2A. Command line / shell via ssh/ssh2 – is it possible at all?
Will I need software acting as a server on the PC or there is this kind of software already in the system? Tips & Tricks & configuration examples are very welcome

Should I use VNC (server and client, like under Linux) or Remote Desktop server already incorporated in WinXP (what about the client in this case)?
And finally – where I can find a manual, help files or specification of the TSC pre installed on my device? Is this software useable?

To use the pre installed terminal server you need to turn on remote desktop (winxp pro) and input your ip address on the wizard in the terminal server application, as long as your firewall is configured to allow the connection you should be able to control your pc using the software you already have, alternatively you can use services like log me in etc.

I use logmein.com's basic, free service. simple, quick, encrypted and you dont have to remember ip's or anything.
try http://gomyplace.com/ if you need something simple just to browse files on the remote and execute commands in the command shell
you will need just a regular internet browser to access the remot host
free, open source (GPL), works in NATed, firewalled environments, dynamic IPs, etc.
runs on Linux/Win32/Mac requires Java on the host machine
client needs only internet browser
Linux
PocketPuTTy is the way to go for connecting to a linux machine remotely, I'm using the latest dev build on my PDA and haven't found any issues yet, although i have only been using it for about 2 days. It works fine on the screensize too as its only command line.
Windows
I wouldn't even bother with command line for windows, as its horribly underpowered and wont provide you with much usability. It is possible to run SSH on windows, but like I said, I would see no reason too.
I used to have a VNC client for my old Axim X50 which ran great, it supported screen scaling, so it would fit my entire 1600x1280 screen onto the PDA no problems, and zoomed in when I required. It was only really usable to perform very simple tasks, but thats all I needed. Unfortunately I don't remember the clients name, however there are a number on the market that provide the same features.. maybe trying the following?

I use realVNC for my server. Oh and any VNC client should work with any VNC server, so if you installed VNC on linux, this should work fine.

Searched all over the internet but havent found any info on this. I would like to use the internet from my touch hd on my netbook, via bluetooth. Is this possible and how can i do it?

the netbook in question is running
if it's xp then it would do it the same way as any other xp computer

If i cannot get this to work i will return my HD2 and opt for a nexus1, this is ridiculous how something so easy is so hard to find out how to to, there is nothing on here about macs besides you cant flash roms with them!! is there any microsoft site that can help?

I use the HD2 with my Mac every day. You can flash via Bootcamp partition, if you wish (I do it.)
The HD2 integrates with iPhoto out of the box, and you can use Missing Sync (Paid) to enable all other sync features, or a few less using doubleTwist. (Free)
There is no "out of the box" support for the N1 either, btw, so simply switching to it won't solve your issues, but I can assure you that the HD2 and the MacOS integrate nicely.

to use my hd2 as a remote/mouse/keyboard for when im doing presentations or just plain old to lazy to get up and type on the computer, i had an iphone with hippo remote pro, and this is killing me now...
I've been wondering if it would be possible to use my phone as an extra display for my computer. All that I could find on Google is people asking about doing the exact opposite. The touch input doesn't have to work, but that would be nice.

This is just an educated guess, but that sounds like a really tall order, per se.
There are, however, apps to remote control (preferably over wifi) your computer including showing your computer's display on your phone. If I recall correctly, PhoneMyPC worked best for me, but there's several others and I'm sure they've been updated. This isn't what you're looking for, though, is it?
i believe i have used "logmein" in the past. works the same as phonemypc. it lets you see your computer screen and remotely control it. roirra is correct as far as i am aware, these types of programs are the only ones available. also, please post in q&a or application section as this is not a development question. thanks!

I don't know about logmein for mobile devices. I have not used it for that. However you can use RDP ("Remote Desktop Protocol" which comes standard with winmo phones) and connect to your PC.
However if you use RDP you have to setup a static IP addy for your PC and forward port 3389 or 3390 and have atleast one user with remote privileges and a password for said user account.
Logmein takes care of all that for you, I just checked real quick IRC logmein is $30 to use on your phone. There are free RDP apps (I use "Remote RDP Lite") where you can add 1 connection before they make you have to buy the pro version, so far I have seen at the cheapest a $10 RDP program. Personally I'd go with some form of RDP program as it will be cheaper than logmein but you have to know what you are doing.
As far as using your phone as a 2nd monitor I do not see a way that the Eris is capable of doing so.

Apparently the next version of Windows will be able to run on ARM processors such as the Tegra 2 in the Vega. I doubt it'll end up on the Vega, though someone might port it over.

If we do get windows on vega, would be able to install windows software such as skype,msn etc i probaly guess so but please correct if im wrong
I would be very surprised if windows will ever come to our vegas. Memory i would say is the main issue, xp would be the only one able to run with 512mb of ram, and that has poor touch screen support. I am running windows 7 with 1gb of ram (min system req) on my laptop, and it runs very slow. As far as i am aware even the netbook version needs 1gb. Be happy with android.
I wasn't really talking about windows 7 (although i would like that) but windows CE or windows mobile.
PS . As I said I only want it for the software.

Won't ever happen, windosws mobile is all closed source. Android is much better anyway, just get used to it
Agreed, winmob on the vega prob wont occour.
I too, miss some great apps and games which doubtfully will ever appear on andriod. The android gaming community, seems a little shallower than the wince lot.
I stll keep my htc touch and diamnd 2 specifically because of this.

i think if we can get android 3.0 (or whatever the numbers will be) on our vega's, its more then enough to have enough fun with it, an operating system that does not thing its a smartphone and optimized for tablets. i used many android smartphones before, but using even 2.2 on vega is more fun then any smartphone i think, at least you can read web sites and not harm your eyes
PS : i have a joojoo tablet too, which runs win7 and i think android is better and faster on a tablet like vega ( tegra2 tabets).
Some of the cheap import tablets like the Zenithink ZT-180 have roms for WinCE - but from what I have read nobody really uses them since even WinCE is pretty poor as a tablet OS (well, that and the ZT-180 is pretty rubbish!).
as a student you can get the windows embedded 7 development kit for free, that should be able to run on the advent vega but my knowledge isnt yet sufficient to build and deploy a rom in order t test it

And then you have Android a system built for mobile devices to be operated specific with a touch screen.
I guess the question is not IF it's possible, but WHY in a hell would anyone even bother porting it?

What about office tools? i have yet to find a decent word processor that retains all (or most) of word's features.
sadly, while gdocs looks lovely, writing documents is still a pain..
Although I also wish that I could do some serious work on my tablet / smartphone, you simply can not do it (too small screen => primarily wasn't meant for this kind of job, but it's great in mobility and therefore "valuable information on the go").
Tablets & smartphones are used to consume / present information and PCs / workstations are used to generate that information.
I have also tried all kind of Office software (QuickOffice HD, Polaris Office, Docs To Go, GDocs,...), but reality is that generating information on Android is 30-50% slower than on a 20" monitor with keyboard & mouse hooked on a PC.
Yes, you could make a new office software on Android that would need a keyboard, mouse & external monitor, but that would defeat the purpose of mobility.
And sadly there is no such good software on Android with so many funtionalities that are found in Microsoft Office.
IMHO you can do up to 30 minutes of work without problems, for anything above that, please do yourself a favor and use a PC.

Yani, its a good app, have you tried? I will use this all the time when I use my Vega during work. I find the windows apps quite poor on Android (I uses docs to go). This is great for reading and creating basic files. There are a few problems I have found so far.
1. The UI is not really designed for touch screen, I used with my docking station, keyboard and mouse but still was hard to click on the right part due to the alignment being off slightly on the mouse pointer.
2. Docs saved to the virtual desktop can be downloaded from a site called files.onlive.com. However when you try to access this site it says 'only available in USA'. So might be a nightmare to get off what you have created.
What do you think?

Sorry, but I haven't used this myself.
If you read my signature, I'm still on stock Froyo and this app needs at least Gingerbread.
I've read only good things about this.
I use QuickOffice for documents, but I only view documents, and these android office apps aren't even good at that!
But I've tried OnLive (for gaming) on SGS and it's amazing!!!!111one
Now to get some answers for your questions:
1. I think you need to restart your OnLive desktop in order to fully accept your mouse&keyboard input.
2. I went to https://desktop.onlive.com/account/myfiles and uploaded a doc file and then redownloaded it without a problem. I'm from Slovenia - EU and I've used Firefox on a PC with Ubuntu/Linux OS.
