Hey,
it seems to me that HTC has forgotten to place an OK button when saving contacts to SIM. Does anybody know how to do?
Use the back arrow button.

I am using the international phone # format in Outlook so when I syncronize, my contacts on wizard (K-Jam) also gets the same format like,
+90 (532) xxx xx xx, I really like this but it causes a problem.
I press contacts and scroll to a name with this format phone number, when I press yes it changes to dial screen and gets back to contacts immediately without dialing. And it won't dial that number anyway after this.
If when I first open contacts I open the details of a contact using ok button, and then dial a formatted number there again with ok button it works without any problems.
Does anybody have the same problem or know a solution to this ?
unfortunately the only thing I know that works is to change the + to 00
Better Way
I realised that putting a gap between the + and the country code solves the problem but still not an effective solution for outlook doesnt let you put that gap there. You have to edit your contacts on the phone manually.
Or is there a better way ?
Hi.
You know how on the mda when you hold the d-pad down on the contacts, after a few seconds a letter comes up? It seems like its there to help you skip to the letter that it lands on, but on my phone it doesn't do that. I stay at the same contact that it stopped on before projecting the letter. All the contacts in my phone are sim contacts, do you think this is the problem, like does it only work for the contacts saved to the phone?
And my second question is, after you make a call that is not on the contacts list, is there anyway to save it to the (sim) contacts without having to copy and paste all over again? My old phone whenever I dialed a number or recieved a call that wasn't on my list, one of the soft keys would say "store" or I could press the menu soft key to "store" into my contacts. Unless I have overlooked it, I can't seem to do that with the mda.
Thanx
Anybody?
This is the only gripe I have about the MDA so far, hoping to get it figured out if there is a way.
thanx
like you said it may be that the contacts are on the sim, transfer your contacts to the phone
Hi everyone. My very first post!
Let me start by saying a big thanks to everyone who has contributed to this site, if it wernt for this site i would still be stuck using WM5 and have no idea of my device potential.
I am currently running WM6
Anyone know how to change the app path to the Contacts button in the dialer?
I know how to change the soft key on the today screen to my own contacts application but then when you are in the actual dialer the left Soft Key also says Contacts but still loads the crap outlook one. And also in the menu of the dialer there is another Contacts item that i would like to change.
So yeah basicly would like to know if its at all possible to change every Contacts button to point to my own contacts application.
I installed HTC EndKey but I realy dont like that it replaced my Contacts key on the today Screen. I tried removing it but it wont go away.
I found it's location in the registry and I tried switching it back to Contacts manually but I cant find the name of the contacts Program. I tried contacts.exe and that doesnt do anything.
Any ideas on how I can get rid of end key and get the contacts button back?
you could look for a program call softkey and see if it will let you change it from there
Hi all.
First i would like to say that this is an excellent board for HTC devices. Never i have seen so many helpfull topic.
I own a HTC Touch 3G for a week now, yester i copied my sim contacts to my "contacts" on the phone (i need new sim for new provider)
Now when ever I try to dial a numer or open contacts, i see this
picture:
I can still use the numbers and browse contacts but this "busy" icon is bothering me since i can hit "2" for dialing.
I hope i explainend my problem in good English
Thx in advance for reading my topic.
Not sure why the "wait cursor" is there. I never experience the "wait cursor" on my dialer. What should happen is - when you press a button, it should search for the number or alphabet in the contact list (and SIM, if you configure both). If number or alphabet is found it will display on the list. If not it will ask if you want to save the number typed to contact.
Have you tried "softrest" , close all other running programs and see if any better ?
Soft reset was my first thougt. It did not work.
The problem was solved when i discovered an option to hide sim contacts
My sim contacts are hidden and it all goes a lot faster now
Useful finding. I did not experience the "wait cursor" delay bacause my SIM list is small, less than 50.
