hi all
it seems my phone has been bricked, i can use any other providers simcards at all to make and receive calls, i have the limited connection icon coming up and the reception bars with an X on it.
is there any way i can unbrick my phone please?
That's not bricked. It won't even turn on if its bricked. Is mobile networks turned on? Has the apn list been wiped/corrupted?
I'm no expert @ this stuff but it sounds fixable. Try flashing the ruu again?

hi
i can see all the networks, i think i need an IMEI repair as it looks it has been blocked because the simards work perfectly on other phones.
is there anyway i can fix this please?
I'm @ work n have rubbish signal so can't provide links, search the forum, there's sure to be something. I would seriously try reflash the ruu tho. What Rom r u using?

no worries, i def dont think its the forum, i think the phone has been blocked by network, so the only way i think is IMEI repair but i could be wrong and its using the latest rom.
i,m searching for a way to change the imei number, if you know someone or someway of doing this it will be greatly appreciated.
thanks

IMO the IMEI cannot be change. If the phone is really blocked by your provider, ask there for unlocking. Maybe there is a stolen phone with nearly the same IMEI, and the did a mistake by entering the code ?
Otherwise return the phone back to shop.
its very strong possability thats the case, if its that difficult then no probs guys, i just though there is a way to do it?

well i lent my friend my mda while i was in class and i guess he was trying to get onto the internet, he accidentally deleted the data connection. when he meant to tap connect.
How do i get it back? all help is appreciated
it is a t-mobile data connection. thanks
anyone??? i really need help with this i have no clue as to how to get it back
Just call your phone provider and they will talk you through adding it again.
so thats the only possible way to get back my connection???
What provider? Cingular or T-Mobile?
im with t-mobile i really want this connection back. im paying for the total internet package and cant use it.
i would call but the account is not under my name. so when i call i dont really remember the personal info such as ss# etc.
Hopefully your account is legal as it doesn't sound normal that you would have a paying account, but no access to customer service (as you have to know who's name it is under i would presume).
I'll help this time, but this really sounds like your using a hot phone...
If you're using T-Mobile US then follow the instructions here: http://tmobileusotw.wdsglobal.com/
oh. nahh im using a good phone, its not a hot phone, its jus that my mother put it under her name for me but me and her had a major argument AFTER the connection was deleted and i didnt really wanna ask her anything.
trust me the phone aint stolen.
thanks for the link though

Well don't be so quick to assume. T-Mobile will ask for ssn or security question. You can't do anything even if you have the contractor's name. But support will give the link without needing any of that.

I was assuming simply because it would seem strange to me that he would have an active phone and not know the person's information who's it is under. If he did i would assume calling them up and saying "Hey i need you to be on the line while i call T-Mobile" wouldn't be unrealistic. His reason is one i can understand, but that wasn't given prior to my response and was why i reasoned that way.
Sorry if i offended anyone.
Did the link fix your problem?

I know you have been trying to get your Hermes working (from your other posts) - bottom line is, yes it may be blocked.
Demand your money back as it's not working. If the phone is blocked then tell them it will be a matter for the police to resolve unless you get your cash. (Legally speaking of course if you suspect it's stolen you should report the matter to the police - some poor sod is missing a Hermes and may not have been insured)
In nearly all cases it's illegal to change the IMEI. As you rightly assume if it's blocked it's stolen.
Mike
Technically you cannot do anything except inform police.
Returning it to the place it was purchased would mean you commit an offence of handling stolen goods if you suspect it to be stolen (which a blocked IMEI might imply).
Thx folks better i will go give them back this phone. thx for help.
First of all I just want to say HI and Merry X-MAS to everyone and also a happy new year , now lets cut to the chase I have asked a few times on the bord how can I solve my problem about not getting signal , now i found in this evening that actually the phone doesn`t register to the network, I was experienced the problem so I boot the android to see if it is a wimo or rom problem, android found the network but couldn`t register just like wimo. Now I found out that it might be a IMEI problem like is blacklisted because it was stolen I also contact the HTC support but no answer yet is there any way to solve this problem ? From my little knowledge I think the phone what i thought it was new to be branded and unlocked before it arrived to me so maybe i can re-unlock it or something ? Also is there a way to find if it was branded or stolen i can provide my sn and imei if it helps ... Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad English ..

You could call your Cell Provider and ask them.
Tried nothing helped ... btw it is a htc hd2 ...
Hello everyone,
Well, here I am again... Seems like the last question is too long or maybe too hard so, no one reply or give me some idea...
This one is easier... After over a month that my Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 can't use as a phone... I decided to call Samsung Service today and the Samsung engineer there told me that... because the phone that I have is the outside country phone so, when the operator knows that I use the phone that is not paid tax to import they cut off my signal that's why I can't use this S4 phone as a PHONE!!!
The Samsung engineer advise me that I need to change the board which will cost me about 6500 bahts and because my phone is not in warranty I have to pay another 1000 bahts for service, which means I have to pay about 243 US. Dollars for them...well let's say 245 US.Dollars...in case the currency change tomorrow...
The status of the phone is all unlock... Since the very first day that I bought the phone it can make call and connect 3G, can connect WiFi...can do anything this S4 phone supposed to do for me until the efs corrupted and imei and serial numbers changed... after I fix all the problem the phone works fine except can't make any call... said not registered on network...
So, my friends... please, advise... Do I really need to change the board(for 245 US.Dollars) to make the phone becomes a PHONE again or...there is another solution for this...(Maybe I should buy new phone...that's not Samsung...)
Is it true that...when your operator knows that you use the phone that's not for your country they will block your signal...?(I use prepaid phone...) I asked my operator they said it's the phone's problem...well the Samsung guy said it's the phone's problem also and the only way to fix it is to change the board...(Seriously???... :crying
I've ever use the phone that I bought from outside country before... It works fine... maybe because it never had imei problem...
Please, I need your opinion... tomorrow I'll go see the Samsung guy... :fingers-crossed:
Best regards,
Angel S.

Sounds like a bogus story to me, bought my I9505 in Germany yesterday and use it without problems in the Netherlands. Connected to the T-Mobile network (data and speech). Maybe your phone (Imei) is listed as stolen and blocked from the networks.
Imei is clean...

So, turn it in for repair or request a new device. Should be covered by warranty, so no issue if you`re legit. Don`t go asking here how to change the Imei number or i`am going to report you to a moderator.
Do you understand English...?

I think I make myself clear enough... I posted in here 3 threads. All questions about how to fix my phone's problem. In those threads I told everyone that my phone has no warranty with Samsung... That's why I need some advise from people here...
This thread... is about... DO I REALLY NEED TO CHANGE THE BOARD? FOR FIXING MY PHONE'S PROBLEM...(CAN'T MAKE ANY CALL...) NOT HOW TO CHANGE IMEI...!!!!!
Can't you see?... DO YOU UNDERSTAND ENGLISH???...
I need your opinion... if you think there's no way I can fix the phone back to normal to make it can call in or out...then I will go to Samsung and said I give up... Just change the board no matter what it cost...
So what do you want from me huh???... Just read the thread carefully before point your finger at me... I REALLY HATE THAT!!!

If you haven`t backed up your EFS folder and so cannot restore it then yes a new board is the only way to get it to work again. Here is a link about EFS http://www.google.nl/url?sa=t&rct=j...2dkJLSsPmgeBTBMgifxyhGA&bvm=bv.49641647,d.ZWU. There are many more links on Google.
Thank you...

Ok...thanks for the link... and sorry for my temper... you have no idea how much stress I have, it's been over a month now that all I can do is searching through internet read thousands of threads and comments and here I am...only few steps to the goal...but I can't reach it...
So, please let me explain a little bit more of my situation...
The phone works... I can connect to internet. Use social app like whatsapp, line, facebook, twitter and many more... but can't make any call... the imei is also fine... when I dial *#06# it shows up my original imei... the serial number is fine...when I check the phone's status it shows the original S/N, The baseband is also shows in phone's status too... the signal bar is full most of the time...
So, the only thing is not fine is... I can't make any call...(even the signal is full...) that's all... when I dial number and make call it said "Not registered on network" I have the efs backup now. The good one...so, thank you for the link...actually I've ever tried that before but I guess it doesn't hurt to do it again...
Tomorrow I'll meet Samsung technician... to see what he can do...
Best regards,
Angel S.
Hello, i have looked everywhere and cant seem to figure out how to physically change my imei number. I have a samsung galaxy s5 smg900p and it is rooted. I seen some things online about going into engineer mode and then going into cds information to change the imei but the dial codes do not work. If anyone could lead me in the right direction i would greatly appreciate it.

Everything you're allowed to know is here.
Don't ask again because there are no more answers for you on this site.
Go that link and read and think. That is it. Next time use search function like all other human beings, who know the alphabet, do.

sorry don't know it myself can't help ,regard's.
If your phone was legally obtained there would be no need to change the IMEI. If you bought this phone from a reputable place they could replace if the IMEI was dodgy.
Moral of this story is don't be cheap and buy a phone off some dodgy person for a price that seems too good to be true. If it was blacklisted by yourself because you thought it was stolen but turns out it wasn't then you could have it reversed by the network.
