I'm wondering if maybe my battery is jacked up or something, but I've only noticed this a couple times.
About a week ago, I plugged my phone in before going to bed, next morning I had a green light and battery widget said 100%. I unplugged the phone and the screen went back off. Maybe 5 minutes later, I picked the phone back up and woke it up and the widget said it was already at 90%. Went into settings and it also already showed a bar missing from the battery bar as well. My phone hovers between 12-15% awake, but even at 100% it shouldn't pull the battery that much in 5 minutes.
So when fresh 1 came out, I had been wanting to ruu back and start from scratch so I went ahead and did that. Seemed to fixed the battery issue, until tonight. I got bored and was changing stuff around. I turned the phone off to do a nandroid backup at 51% battery. Shut down, nandroid and reboot, and when it came back on, it said it was down to 28%. I know rebooting the phone didn't pull almost a quarter of the battery. I plugged it into the computer for maybe 5 minutes to adb the htclockscreen out, when I pulled the usb, it said it was already back to 51%. Rebooted phone and when it came back up it said it was 41%. Screen turned off, and when I turned it back on, it said 43% and now seems to be holding steady there.
Again my first thought was maybe the widget, but i've tried 2 different ones, batterylife and the htc one and they both show the same and the bar under settings appears to validate the same.
Any ideas?
Okay, so now I have encountered two other problems:
1) I turn all animations off in developer settings, but for some reason transition animation will come back again to 1x after a random undetermined amount of time. this is so frustrating
2) the battery went from 39% today right to 1%. I freaked out and took the battery out and cooled it down, and then put it back again. It went to 29%. That battery ran out and I put in my spare (OEM Samsung) and the battery dropped 50% in 4 hours (yesterday I got 14 hours on full charge). What is happening?!?!
Any of you guys have these problems?
Hi guys
I got a really weird problem, i got this phone now for a few months and everything was fine till yesterday.
Normally i get 3-4 hours screen time with mild use but now my phone drains without even doing something, just letting the phon in my pocket for an hour and 30% gone.
I tried deleting cache but it didnt fix it.
I got screenshots from battery ussage
Everything ok now, problem was the oculus app update.
I have an S5 G900T which I got from somebody. The problem is that every time I restart the phone it goes down 10% or so. Is that normal? I don't think so. Every custom rom I test it's the same problem. Is it a battery problem or...?
This problem is always not solved. I change the other phone or change the battery. The result is the same. The battery is recharged 10% less when it is fully charged. The test is the same for many ROMs. Only Android7.1.2 is normal. give up!
Maybe it's because it heats up and has many apps to load on startup? I restarted my phone today and didn't lose any percent from the restart, but lost around 3% while my apps were loading the first few minutes after the reboot.
Hey all,
The first time this happened a few days ago I thought it was a fluke, but the problem has now happened twice. Watching youtube with my battery ~7%, the phone froze, and proceeded to reboot itself. Upon turning back on, it showed 6%,. It quickly drained within 5-10 minutes to 0%, and then shut off. Today I was writing a hangouts message with 5% battery left and same thing happens. Phone froze for a few seconds, then force restarted itself. Booted back up and showed 4% battery, then quickly drained to 0% in minutes and turned off. It is weird as the system is turning itself back on, so it realizes the battery isn't actually dead... but the battery is reaching a point where it is low enough to cause the system to meltdown (maybe the OS is throttling itself?)
The first few days I got the phone I also noticed early shutoff, where the phone would actually run out of battery while still displaying 6-8% still remaining. Also frustratingly, when my phone enters "battery saver mode" at 15%, it very often causes my foreground all to refresh itself in RAM, especially if the app has a "dark mode" battery saver option. Not sure if this last bit is normal or not, but it interrupts whatever I am doing.
Any thoughts? The battery life is OK otherwise with 3-4 hours SOT.
