For my mt3g I used some $5 cradle I got at Fry's and it's been just fine, but the mt4g's charger port is blocked. What is everyone using?
I'd like to avoid the suction types because they inevitably fall and then I'll flip out when my new phone gets its first scratch and I'll probably crash the car and then my insurance will go up and I won't be able to replace my 240k mile integra because I can't afford full coverage which is required when you finance a car.
So yeah, tangential rants aside, I'd like to stick with the vent clip type. What's everyone else using? Pics would be awesome.

The one that came from T-mobile looks good but the clip is a waste of space and tends to fall off whenever i sit in the car.
I used an older case that i was about to bin which had the same magnetic closure and had a double clasp at the back which never came off my belt - but sadly the front fell apart and the wizard got bruised on the street.
So anything that is a good fix to a belt - preferably with a magnetic catch - and reliable enough not to let the phone bounce onto the road.
I am not looking for a case to keep it in while in use - just one to carry it on my belt.
Thanks in advance.
I use a Krusell 'Horizontic' http://www.krusell.se/productUni.php?productID=1436&category=27. I'm very pleased with it and they aren't too expensive.
Thanks - I had seen that already - but could not find anyone selling it on ebay or in real life.
I liked it as....

as everyone has black phone cases!
On eBay, contact this seller: paylessalways
He has always been able to get me anything Krusell makes....
I use the SenaCase Pouch for the Treo 650 and it works perfectly: http://www.senacases.com/cart/home.php?cat=345
Anyone know who supplies that krussel one in real life or on the net?

Thanks to all.
I saw this place - and they seem cheapest but I dont see the brown/red one (and the guy on ebay is not listing just now).
http://www.eliteelectronics.co.uk/MDA_Vario_Leather_Case.html
They have the most expensive one for under twenty quid ($35).
But I am not sure if the belt straps are closed with poppers.
I will call them in the morning.
Got a Krusell one from this guy in the UK....
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/BP-SALES-DIRECT
The prices were good and I got it very quickly. He differentiates between standard vertical cases and horozontal ones by calling the latter pouches.
If anyone is thinking about getting a Krusell "plus" series case - the belt attachment is held on at the bpttom by two press studs so can pop off the belt. The cheaper one and the platinum one dont so I guess are better cases.
There is also a PDA case that offers an outside flap that is secured by two press studs that can store batteries/sims/memory cars in the flap - I guess this one offers better protection for your kit but is not available for the wizard.
I am looking at purchasing this case i was wondering if anyone could give me the run down on it? I ended up buying a tilt becuase i am a tech fan and a hoobiest programmer, a gadget lover, im not a buisness man. I am a commercial electrition during the day and drive pizzas at night. I really love the tilts gps and i use it to listen to podcasts and internet radio in the car. I currently own a leather belt clip case i keep the tilt in most of the time, but im looking for a case solution when im out doing elctrical work. This includes anything from pulling huge cables to digging ditches.
I usually end up going through phones twice a year i beat them up at work pretty bad. I wont be using this monaco as a primary case just while im out in the field. I bascially just need to use my kaiser as a phone and maybe some texting when its in this case. I found the case here http://www.tiltdepot.com/att-tilt-metal-cases.htm the review said it limits the touch screen functionality. So what im wondering is will i be able to still use the creen i mean i just need to be able to use handwriting recognition and some acuall touch support in spb shell and finger based vistual KB's. How does this limit the touch screen?
aA;so how much bulk does this add becuase im also going to need to put the phone in a pouch or something to keep dirt out of the buttons.
I don't have any experience with this case to share I'm afraid. One of the common complaints with metal cases is signal attenuation. You might want to look at one of the Otterbox cases, but you'll still have to pull it out to use the keyboard.
hey buddy. I got a metal case from an australian company called pdair. I've had it since i bought the phone a couple of months ago. It's saved it many times and it doenst hurt the signal at all. BUT, it does have a polycarbonate cover so it does hurt the touchscreen function, but i just use the D-pad anyway. http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=10100000_900000_11000164&products_id=6561
Is the outter box 8000 the one for the tilt? can you hear the phone ring in the outerbox.
Christian see im just wondering if the touchscreen works at all how much does it impair the phone? Im not really worried about the signal anyways im not going to be using the phone in this case all the time. I dont plan on surfing the net or anything while im trying to pull wires down 4 stories of building. Just need to be able to send or recive calls and texts. I think i could deal with flipping the case open and using the keyboard but im still curious how well the touch screen works.

in short I say buy this case. I have this same monaco case and I love it. I work in a warehouse mostly sometimes on a roof helping install solar panels and such, much the same as you im sure with the wire everything from #12 to 600mil. I don't do a lot of pulling but am around it all day and conduit and a forklift oh you get te picture.
this case provides the most protection I can imagine and still have the phone functionable. my case hase seen the concrete from about 10 ft and no problems. scratches of coarse but phone was un harmed.
in short great case great protection and a great buy for me I purchased mine about 2 months ago and I paid $14 or so pre ship on ebay.
get it you won't regret it.
(if you do ill buy it from you)
hope this helps.
mrphat, can you still use the touchscreen at all?? that is what i really want to know, how much it limits the touch screen.
I mean im going to need a tuff case no matter what, not so worried about dropping it, but sliding 4 750s over leg while they get tugged down a pipe is enough to crack the screen in a leather case.
The Pdair case protects/covers the whole phone(including touchscreen) but leaves the access features accessible (i.e. D-pad, answer/end buttons, stylus. etc). You can hear the phone very well and at work i just use the D-pad to answer the phone. Since i have an S2U2 all i do is get it out of standby and i can check quick vitals that way. . Whenever i get a text or something like that, i just open the case and use the phone that way.
After looking at the monaco case, it's EXACTLY the same as the pdair case. Both are aluminum and both have the polycarbonate screen protector.
thanks thats what i really needed to know
I originally bought an aluminum case for my Tilt because I wanted the extra protection. In my experience:
* All of the aluminum cases I've seen appear to be pretty much the same. eBay is littered with them for about a quarter of the price that Tilt Depot is charging. Search "Tilt aluminum case"
* You can use about 90% of the device's features with the Dpad and other keys, but you can't dial the phone without opening the cover.
* I did experience about a one-bar loss in signal with the phone in the case vs. the phone not in the case.
* The case that I had was slippery as heck. I wound up attaching a wrist strap to the phone and would never use the device without strapping in first.
* The aluminum case is a little bulky.
I switched to a rubberized case and don't miss the aluminum nearly as much as I thought I would.
You probably need the extra protection for your day job, and the aluminum case will certainly provide it. Trust me, though, trying to flip open the cover and dial the phone one-handed while you're driving is a huge pain in the rear, not to mention dangerous.
well what about these outerbox cases can you hear the phone ring will they fit in your pocket?
I mean im going to have to keep the aluminum case in a pouch anyways beacuse i work in palm springs wich is all desert and any underground work is in sand, so i have an issue with dirt getting in the buttons too. If im going to be taking the phone out of a case to dial might as well take it out of one instead of two.

questions been pretty much answered I guess and yes the case needs to be opened to use the touch screen , but trust me it is easy to get acustomed to. as the poster said a few posts up it does work well with s2u2 and the dpad.
forgive me if im wrong but is there a otterbox case made for this device specifically?. I know the ones I've seen are pretty generic and very bulky.
I have mine in the case and I purchased a leather pouch for a BB Curve from the Dollar Tree for a buck its real cheap fake leather so I bought like 4 of them. I just slide it in there. the belt clip is sturdy but doesent allow you to set it down and use it. maybe this helps ?
I also agree that pretty much all of the cases (aluminum) are the same I just happen to own the monaco.
i'm looking for a carmount that doesn't involve a suction cup.I'm really looking for something that can be clipable to the air vent and be able to handle weight since i primarily use an extended battery
Update. I found this instead http://www.proclipusa.com/?sectionp...tegoryid=&p_year=&p_countryid=0&p_leftorright=
I got one aradio shack for $15 that works great. Clips into vent and adjust in size to grip from sides. Charger still fits while in cradle too. Kevin
The one I use is a $9 one from wal-mart. it clips to the air vent & has adjustable sides w/ a space on the bottom for chargers.
Do you like the one from walmart?
Pro Clip is where its at
I bought this set, Everything works great especially for the price.
My first plastic case had the issue of one corner not fitting right, so i contacted them, and they sent out a new one the next day. Fit perfectly.
But it has the car cradle, and a very nice leather holster that holds the phone snug.
amazon has a ginormous variety of all types of holders. i got one a few weeks ago that comes with windshield mount and is also interchangeable to the air vent. also some that are actually custom to the phone for a little more $ with a charger port built in.
I'm shopping for a new car mount. I want something with a suction cup that sticks to the windshield or dash - not looking for a vent or cup mount.
I've been looking around at several models, but most of them seem to fit poorly for a Fuze - sides covering volume/PTT buttons & back covering the rear speaker.
I use my Fuze as a GPS device in landscape mode. I'd like a holder that doesn't cover any hardware buttons or the rear speaker. I also use a case once in awhile but not always - so the width should be adjustable.
I have the suction cup mounted type and did not like it.. they seem to wobble/vibrate more than the vent mount ones.. also car theifs will break into you car if they see thesuction mount thing on your dash, as they assume whatever goes on it is still in the car... jsut a warning.. you locat people to not use that type in the Milwaukee area... if you do decide to get the vent mount... Target sells one at the stores for $15 that works well... quick release button and all that... decent quality too (not cheap feeling like some are)
Thank you for your response, you bring up some important things to consider.
I have tried vent clips, but in my vehicle the weight of the phone causes the screen to point downwards.
My wife bought me a universal holder, which the vendor said is compatible with the Fuze. It mounts to the windshield, has a long gooseneck and the holder barely fits the fuze w/o a case. It blocks the rear speaker and the sides cover the volume/PTT buttons.
One nice thing it came with was a disc the size of the suction cup, with some very thick sticky tape on the bottom. While the disc isn't really pretty, it allows me to mount on the dash or even the console - avoiding the conspicuous windshield attention grabber.
I would just like a good, adjustable holder that doesn't cover buttons or the rear speaker.

Try http://www.proclipusa.com/
You buy the clip in two parts: vehicle mount and device holder.
I have one and because it fits so well, I never used the double-sided tape that comes with it. Whenever I change devices, I purchase a new device holder.
These are far more secure than a suction cup and all the years I've used these, they never fell off.
I don't have a need for it, but they also have an extension mount so you can mount 2 devices. Really great concept if you have the need.
Although these may cost a little more, they are definitely worth the price.

Seconded! I've used the Brodit Proclip for over a year now and had no issues at all.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Thanks, you guys made me take a second look at this vendor.
Would you guys trust the holder to hold the phone if it was mounted for landscape viewing?

Yes, no problem.
Does anyone know of a good windscreen phone holder that doesn't fall off after a while.
The other day I was driving with my windows down (luckily my mobile wasn't in its holder) I went around a corner and the holder shot out the window....
Even if it wasn't that severe just falling off in the car with the modern day screens on these phones they could easily break so finding a holder with a really good sucker is quite important I haven't had much success in this regard so far...
anyone point me in the right direction
Oh Car air vents ones aren't an option needs to be a suction cup.......
cheers

Car vent mount wasn't an option for me either, and my windshield is too far to reach.
So I got a magnetic mount that uses foam tape to stick to my dashboard. It came with a metal plate that fits inside my case.
My just set my phone on the mount and it sticks, every time. No having to open a clamp or squeeze a button to put it on there. I like it so much I have one at my desk, one in my wife's car and we even bought one for a friend. Also the phone hasn't ever fallen off either.

SlipGrip makes mounts that work with the most popular phone cases. Windshield mounts and more. I have no affiliation with this company but I have used their product and I like it.
