Sorry for the long title just wanted to get the juicy bits in.
Last night I did the force OTA and then flashed to iced glacier and everything is FABULOUS except for the fact that I can't seem to load youtube or any other flash videos in a web browser. I've tried opera, skyfire and the stock browser and none of them will load it. All other flash works fine though.
Any info that I can provide just let me know. Much thanks from a first time poster, long time browser.

You need to goto market and download Flash Player 10.1

Sorry if the answer is obvious but I could nt find a definitive answer anywhere.
So is full flash experience with adobe 10.1 possible on HTC HERO. I have Darchdroid 2.8 running on mine.
thx
guys... theres like 15 other threads asking the same thing, and multiple posts within rom threads..
If you want flash in any kinda way (lite) you need to be running a sense_ui rom
For example both zenheroFX and zenEXP have flash.
Darchdroid, aosp and cm roms will not be able to run it.
Thanks for pointing that out. Really liked DD2.8 otherwise.
what are you guys doing that makes you want/need flash on a phone with a tiny screen? I really am curious, I cannot think of anything that I would want to do on a phone that requires flash. Are you trying to play face book flash games or something? Hulu could maybe be a use, but flash video barely works on an Atom running anything but windows, so it sure as hell isn't going to work on an ARM running android...
I am interested in some news websites that show live feed of tv channel. went to sprint's store and evo played it really well.
so flash video.... the evo is a much faster phone, also htc put a lot of effort into the version of flash that's on there.

Sorry Chopper if this is in the wrong place, but I have not seen anyone talk about this. If it is even possible, I just need to know what level of your magic I need to use on my device to get the streaming video to work in any browser. Why would they even tease me with loading it in my system files? Thanks for any feedback, now get back to work devel-ing.

I try to push any video I get through the youtube player. If that doesn't work, I try skyfire. Not exactly what you asked for, I realize. I just haven't played with video much beyond that on this phone.
Maybe if you posted a place to find the specific video you want to play?
Swyped w/ XDA App. When in doubt, mumble.
2.2 (or the "F" word) = Videos in browser.
good day.
Edit: why did you apologize to me?
Thought you were a moderator, not up on forum edicate.
I have two weeks that I will not need my phone, rooting will fix most of the issues I am having but I did not see any specific comments on getting flash 10 working on the Fascinate. Wanted to make sure I had my plan down before I started. Odin recovery was my push. Just wanted to see if the video issue might have been an auto fix in any of the updates or ROMs.
I love you guys......

Just to be clear, there is no flash 10 plugin support below android 2.2, no way, no how.
If you need it, you can ask sky fire to downcode video for you with their servers, or you can use remote desktop apps to send you images (vector or raster) of your home computer using flash.
Trying to get flash 10 on your fascinate presently will brick it.

Thanks for the clarification. That was what I thought because of the lack of comments on it.
Maybe Santa will bring us 2.2 this weekend.
Thanks again

Stock Gingerbread
Hi guys,
So I am currently with stock 2.2.1 and I am thinking of getting the Gingerbread, can anyone tell me what the key benefits are to this update?
Is it a little lighter and may not get bogged down from time to time like my current Froyo?
Anything new or particular exiting to look fwd to?
Thanks,
Jeff

I would suggest you root and install a different firmware if you're up for it. GB is just over all quicker than Froyo.
Thank you very much and sorry but searching somehow never works for me on this forum.

Well I also updated stock froyo to stock gingerbread few weeks ago.Hera are the benefits I'm getting with update
1.Alot of RAM saving/maintaining well.
When on froyo,i had to restart phone whenever im going to download something with Firefox browser. If I didn't make out, I can't get full download speed.I tested this.on gingerbread I don't need to make restarts get full download speed.
Also wherever I gonna play big games like gameloft, I make a restart to play the game without single lag.On gingerbread I never made a restart before I play games.Games works without lag.
After I party some games, phone work little bit slow. But on gingerbread, I never felt felt that.
2.Skype (market version, not modded one) video call with front camera work on gingerbread.
3.Good keyboard with Voice To Text feature.
4.Batty saving than Froyo.
Here is the problem
Camera quality isn't like on Froyo Camera.

http://lifehacker.com/5883058/chrome-now-available-on-android-devices-running-ice-cream-sandwich
It is similar as stock android browser but i has a score of 343+10 on html5test.com also it is faster and better looking, more desktop like it has some nice feautures of auto zooming but i got some problems with pinch to zoom
Tested on Desire HD.
does it work on the evo with an ics rom in it or does the rom not matter?
Thx

Same thing here. Saw it first thing this morning. Downloaded from market. After typing in a search, never loads web content. UI is there, just no web content. (Currently running evervolv 4.0.3 ICS ROM).
Tried wiping cache and data. Didn't think to try fixing apk uid mismatches. Already uninstalled, though.

Works great on my Nexus S running ICS but cant get it in my Galaxy Tab 10.1 running 3.1, wont even try to install.
Lovely browser though, its streets ahead of the normal one.
The app requires the LEVEL 14 API.. So not sure when the great devs here can get it to work with GINGERBREAD.
I have it running on my epic 4g with cm9 but its a no go on the evo. The UI looks great, I like the functionality of the tabs. Look forward to playing with it on my transformer
Darn, and here I was thinking I could break free of miren... Anyone know if intent works properly on this one? (i.e. you open a Youtube link and it gives you the option to load it in the Youtube app)
Didn't work well for me
I tried it out on my Evo running Drew's P7 build. Uninstalled it after about 5 minutes. It takes up 50 MB of internal storage, wouldn't move to SD, the keyboard was really laggy when typing URLs, the page wouldn't display, and when I went into app management, it was using a whopping 81 MB of RAM.
Maybe I'll revisit this later, but for now it isn't right for my device.
Alright.... Can someone let me in on this secret? Everyone praises this aosp browser, yup it looks nice, just like chrome.... Wait that is why I changed to aosp browser because it was the closest to chrome but it had FLASH SUPPORT. OK great!
Here I am using this browser for 2 months, spent about 20 hours searching for an answer..... Why in the name of god does it always force close on any god damn flash site I go to?.... Why? Every topic I find on it just seems to go dead not a singe answer. Lol
Sorry I'm trying to be funny as I vent. If anyone can tell me what the hell I'm doing wrong or is this just a horse turd browser and I should move on.
I'm on paranoid 3.1 I stopped updating ROM after last major update. This issue was always there
I'm using m kernel latest nightly. I tried Franco, and whatever comes with pa stock.
Any help would be great, thank you and good night
