help. After root with visionari r13 the phone is stuk and has a red triangle with an exclamation mark. After hard reset no change.

Turn the phone off. Hold Volume Down + Power. What happens?

Are you sure he can push both the volume and power buttons at once? They are very stiff to press, you know!
(Apologies to xspyda in advance (this damn sarcasm is gonna get me in trouble one day.....))

the device opens and then the triangle appears again

Not sure if you can flash the RUU when in this state - is it communicating with your PC when the tirangle is up and it's plugged in?

Can you get into the bootloader? you haven't said from the earlier post. If so you could flash the PD98IMG to get it back to stock.

the screen is white and i can only press 'fast boost' 'recovery' 'factory reset' 'simlock' and 'image crc'

Now we're getting somewhere
read this thread..http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=841890
you need to carry out the 'common steps' and then the 'install through phone' method.
This will bring you back to the state that you bought the phone.

Once in recovery, can you connect to the pc and flash the ruu to restore to default?
Not sure if this is possible from recovery but I'm sure someone will know...

Not necessary, all that needs to be done is flash the rom.zip from the RUU (PD98IMG) the phone checks for it as soon as it goes into bootloader automatically.

Fair play. I just figured that for someone not familiar with Rom flashing it might be easier to simply run an exe file with the dhd connected to the pc.
As I say though, not even sure that's possible when in recovery.

reboot recovery step not working

So I did the step by step rooting of my Sprint Hero
I get to the part where I flash the image in the shell and it is almost instant to get back to pound sign prompt
I then reboot recovery and the phone shuts off and powers on again with the HTC splash screen. The screen goes away after 1 second and the phone doesnt do anything. No recovery console at all.
What do I do? I want to install the custom rom but i I also want to backup the phone first.
Try this:
Turn the phone off. hold in the volume down button and the power button. When fastboot loads up press the home button and let us know what happens.
If it hangs at boot, reflash the recovery. Sometimes it gets corrupted during the download.
yeah, for some reason, when I try that way to it does nothing.. so i generally use the flashboot/hboot method

This happens for me as well and I am using the correct version with the "c" in it. Is the file actually 3.19MB? Also, when using the flash command, is it supposed to provide any feedback or create a file or directory on the SD Card?

It doesn't give any feed back that I know of. But there's a program called flashrec (Direct Link [.apk] ) that I use to flash recovery images right off the phone. And you don't even need to have a rooted phone.
this happened to me as well. i had to load up the stock sprint ruu, and then go through the rooting process again. the recovery image gets corrupted somehow during the flashing, and even if you try to reflash the image, the corruption remains on the phone. gotta start from scratch.....

Can't get to recovery image [Android with warning sign appears]

Hi everybody,
This is my first post here and I seriously hope someone can help me.
I unlocked my phone and was attempting to root it and flash Cyanogen's MOD. I flashed Armon_RA's recovery image into recovery partition using fastboot, but when I try to access it I'm getting an image of an android with a warning sign, which I can't post yet because I'm a newbie and mod's have to check my account... Once there the only thing I can do is remove the battery.
I've downloaded Armon_RA's img twice and from different sources and the same thing happens.
In terms of what I did, I tried to follow a step-by-step guide at androidandme.com, combined with Cyanogen's official Wiki.
I appreciate any kind of help,
Thanks!
BTW I'm on Ubuntu 9.10, in case it helps.
Took me like 4 times to flash the recovery before I got the care bear screen. Just keep flashing!
I just got it working right now and was about to post it had been fixed.
Thanks anyway!
Sorry for undigging this thread, but this thread is the first one which shows up when I searched for "android recovery warning".
I have spent the entire day trying to fix my Nexus One's recovery (I got stuck on the screen with a warning sign as well), with no success. Trust me, I tried (almost) everything possible to flash a new recovery/restore stock recovery.
What did work, though, was running fastboot flash recovery recovery.img 5 times in a row (remember to boot your phone in fastboot mode before sending these commands). That did the trick, and now I'm able to boot in recovery mode (Clockworkmod, by the way).
Thanks!

So how can I do a hard reset from this stock recovery when there's no menu commands, how do you use the stock recovery?
I have an unrooted S On nexus one that I need to hard reset because it boot loops for some reason, but didn't want to have to root it.

Push the power button and volume up buttons at the same time
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA Premium App
Two buttons together ...
It is a common misconception that you have to push two buttons at the same time to activate some features. Trying to push them at exactly the same time is hit and miss and causes people to have issues.
In every case the combination is always hold one button down and then click the other button once ... much easier than clicking both together.
In this case I believe the combo is hold down power and then click Volume-Up once. (I may have it reversed).

It most likely is reversed. At least when you want to access the bootloader you want to hold down the volume down button (or maybe it is either volume button) and then turn on the phone. And with fastboot, you hold down the trackball as you turn on the phone.
I believe the volume up and powerbutton at the same was to "ok" the phone to apply an update.zip that was stored on the card (I remember doing that when I was running the Froyo build leaks from google).

[Q] I can't pass through "ClockMod Recovery". I am stuck, PLEASE HELP, I NEED YOU
HELLO ALL,
I USED THIS LINK http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858996
TO ROOT MY MY TOUCH 4G PHONE AND IT WORKED FINE UNTIL I ATTEMPT TO INSTALL OVERCLOCKING SOFTWARE FROM>>>
http://theunlockr.com/2010/12/14/ho...ted-s-off-t-mobile-mytouch-4g-or-t-mobile-g2/
AND AFTER DOING WHAT THEU SAID MY PHONE JUST ACTED CRAZY/
EVERYTIME I TRIED TO TURN THE PHONE ON IT VIBRATES CONTINUESLY AND NEVER GETS TO THE OS. SO I LEFT IT ON FOR NIGHT LIKE THAT AND I WOKE UP IN THE MORNING OBVIOUSLY BETTERY WAS COMPLETLY DRAINED ( AFTER ALL THE VIBRATING BACK AND FORTH)
ANYWAYS, NOW IT JUST TURNS ON AND STAYS AT " MY TOUCH 4G SCREEN WHERE ITS WHITE AND THAT WRITING" IT JUST FREEZES.
IF I TRY TO HOLD VOL DOWN AND CLICK POWER BUTTON, I GET TO THE PAGE WHERE ITS WHITE AND FASTBOOT, RECOVERY, FACTORY RESET,SIMLUCK,IMAGE CRC MENU.
I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING IN THAT MENU INLUDING FACTORY RESET, NOTTING WORKS.
WHEN I ALSO TRY RECOVERY FROM THERE I CAN GET TO "ClockMod Recovery" BUT I CANT EVEN ACCES INSTALL ZIP FROM SDCARD, WHEN I TRY THAT ALL I SEE IS A BLACK SCREEN AND A HAT AND A BIG EYE UNDER IT.
THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING,
Step one, slow down
step two, turn off the caps.
Step three it's obvious that you have s=off if you have clockwork ROM on your phone.
At the top of your phone What recovery image do you have? 3.0.0.5? or a 2.x one?
thank you for responding, I have v3.0.0.5 version

as long as you do not have any errors on your recovery image about not being able to mount anything....to get your phone working you can do one of two things.
1)You can flash any Gingerbread based ROM either from Cyanogen(mod) or from TeamRoyal. Those all can be found in our Development section from your recovery image.
2) you can flash the PD15IMG and restore you phone back to 100% via the HBoot (engineering) screen, that can be found in our development section as well.
no luck

when you select something you need to select it with the track pad. If you use the power button you'll get the text will disappear.
the only way you can use ADB to flash stuff is if you have the engineering bootloader. If you just followed TheUnlockr's method then you do not have it.
i use volume buttons and power button to select it
oh ok now i used the mouse button select and i can select but now the phone is keep resrarting every like 10 seconds with a vibrate, nottting happens just restarting over and over. Where should I go next?

As he mentioned above, you need to use the trackpad buttons to make selections, NOT the power button.
If you can successfully reboot into recovery, just wipe the phone completely and flash a new ROM...

3.0.0.5 is only compatible with 2.3 ROMS.
use this to flash it

and you'll want to use the "from recovery" method.

Once you are done with the PD15IMG you will have to reroot your phone. IT will return it to a 100% stock fashion.
after you re-root the phone please flash the 3.0.0.6 to help save any confusion down the road.

The original 3.0.0.6 was made by option94, and you can flash it from your existing recovery or fastboot, so booting into a ROM is not necessary.

Phone won't turn on, please help

Before I get flamed, I have searched the forums, but the threads are NOT helpful. (some old, and I don't want to hi-jack anyonelse's thread)
THis is NOT my phone. I am trying to help, so bare with me. I have the SK4G and G2x, so this device is a bit different for me.
Apparently, my friend tried flashing a custom rom, it took too long and he pulled the battery. NOW the phone refuses to turn on. The computer recognizes the device, but I am unable to boot into bootloader.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
What is "recognizing the device", and what happens when you turn it off and then turn it on while pressing VolumeDown (or VolumeUp)?
Technically pulling battery during a ROM flash shouldn't cripple the phone. unless that is another side effect of the bad emmc chip, in which case you may be out of luck. but as the previous poster said, try booting whilst holding down the volume down key and see what happens.
I have tried the down volume button and power... up volume and power... home and power, all to no avail.
If I connect it to the PC it recognizes the device.

The issue now is getting it back to stock and s-on in order to return it to TMOBILE. I can't select anything since the power button doesn't work. and I am not good at all with ADB.
can you select by pressing the optical trackpad instead of the power button?

From the Bootloader type in
Code:
reboot
since the phone doesn't have a working ROM it should boot into the recovery mode again
Well what you'll need to do is download the PD15IMG file PD15IMG
pull the SD Card w/o pulling the battery, and store just the PD15IMG.zip on the root of the SDcard.
Then type in
Code:
adb reboot recovery
again and unplug the phone. It should ask if you want to restore the PD15IMG, you'll hit the button (it'll tell you) to confirm that.

The Track pad only works if I am in CWM - if I am not mistaken. ( I have tried selecting with the power button and trackpad, nada)
I guess my next question would be, how to unroot using ADB without being able to select anything with the power button? Any way to flash the STOCK ROM and get S-ON again using ADB Commands? It will have to be sent back to TMOBILE. And since it is rooted, I have to UNROOT it. (The phone is ON MY ACCOUNT, but belongs to my friend. I don't want to get charged for the device because it's rooted and warranty voided)

Ok, if HBOOT says S-OFF that means you're rooted. What happens when you try to turn it on while holding power and volume-down? Will it turn on? What appears?

It sounds like your bootloader is very very messed up...we're going to need to wait for someone who knows how to fix that, or if it is even possible.
