Okay here is the run down...
I bought a rooted vibrant phone with Froyo2.2 installed already off ebay.
I just received the phone today so I used Odin to flash back everything to the original firmware and roms, so that I can unlock my phone.
As apparently, you it has not been tested on froyo2.2 and I did not want to try it. Everything worked well, and it flashed back succesfully according to Odin.
I have all the firmware from Samsung downloaded and installed. Now I am trying to Unlock my phone using the downloaded 1 click script that is available on the forums on this site. But it is giving me an error when i run it.
*It says "server not running"* Error: Unable to find file
I seem not to be able to connect my device using the massage storage with USB...
I am not sure if that is the reason... I can connect through the PC Route way... But I am pretty sure you need to do it through the massage storage. I tried turning both on and off the Debuggage mode, but still dident work.
Any ideas or thoughts?
The phone did not come with the original sim card from Tmobile... So there is no Sim card inside the phone.
Does this make a difference?
Any help would be awesome...
Thanks in Advance!

recently got a Galaxy Note 3 from Verizon. I wanted to root the device, it was really easy with my old original galaxy so I looked at a few guides which were all using "Root de la Vega" and finally tonight in an attempt to root my device I used the guide at:
phonearena.com/news/How-to-Root-the-Verizon-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-3_id48247
I put the phone into download mode and connected it to Odin with the included Samsung USB 3.0 cable. I selected the root de la vega firmware using the AP button and hit Start to begin flashing. Almost immediately after the write starts it fails and on the phone it says:
Quote:
"Secure check failed: cache"
In the guide it mentions there may be problems using the USB 3.0 cable so I tried it with a USB 2.0 cable with the same results. I tried rebooting the phone to see if it had wiped it. Indeed, it had been wiped and is now going to the screen which says there was a problem updating the firmware and says to use the Software Recovery Assistant to restore the firmware.
I am not sure why this has happened. I feel like I followed the instructions to the letter. After looking at some different guides I am noticing that many have you put the phone into USB debugging mode which the guide I was following doesn't mention. Is this why it has failed. Is this strictly required?
I would like to get this device rooted, but now my number one priority is getting it back into a state where it will be more useful than the paperweight on my desk. I tried downloading Kies 3 which I read can restore the stock firmware on the phone. I was extremely annoyed when I realized that Kies 3 would not recognize my phone at all. It says that the device is not supported by Kies 3 and gives me a link to check support (which just brings me to the Kies download page which clearly states that my phone (Note 3) is supported. I even tried to download the original Kies software which will not even recognize the device enough to tell me it's not supported.
Can anyone point me to a way to restore my phone to factory settings? Can I download the stock firmware and flash it with Odin, will this work if I couldn't get the custom firmware to flash in Odin (possibly because of not setting USB debugging?).
EDIT: Note that, following the guide, I did not check which build number my phone is before running Odin, now I have no idea which it is and what stock firmware to download. Is there anyway to figure out which build my phone was on or which stock firmware I need to download?
EDIT: So it looks like my problem is similar to this problem posted on XDA. I followed the link in that thread to this guide to restore the stock firmware. However, it has three different downloads for different builds, I am not sure which I should download or if there is a way to figure it out. Will any of them work? Can I try them one at a time safely until one of them works. I don't want to mess things up any worse than I already have.. I downloaded the MI9 firmware from that page, but this is just a guess... Anyone have any idea?
Any help will be very much appreciated.

I'm running into the exact same issue, did you ever find a solution?
Same issue
I have the same issue. Is there no help? Chainfire? do you have a CF-Root for SM-N900V yet?
Thanks. any help is appreciated.
So here's my problem. I have a Rogers 900W8 and I've played around with it. I rooted it with Phiztouch, flashed Fusion and Gapps and didn't like it. Flashed back to OEM and no issue. Tried installing a stripped down version of Lollipop and found it had issues so I gave up and decided to flash back to OEM. My OEM software is from Sams and now my background apps are Bell on the second round. WTF?? I've downloaded every "roger" labeled file from Sams and everyone flashes the same. (via ODIN of course). The only reason I care is because I still have a credit on my Suretap sim card I want to use and now it won't acknowledge it. Help please

Keep it simple, use the Kies software, put your phone in Download mode, connect to PC/Mac, and then select under tools, emergency firmware recovery. Should go ahead and restore phone to original rogers state.
I tried you suggestion, didn't work. It won't let me attempt anything
So I played around and figured out how to get Kies3 to do the emergency software install. Turns out it was my old laptop having a software issue with 32bit windows.... my wifes newer laptop worked perfectly.
Now, I've done process and seen the issue. When Kies sees my software it clearly identifies Bell as the carrier specific. When I start the firmware install, by serial number.... It shows that RWC is now selected to install. Following thorough, the software gets downloaded and installed and It's still Bell..... WTF? When I plug back in to Kies to confirm, sure enough.... BMC pops up. Am I missing a step? Like a battery pull at a key moment?

Download the oldest rogers firmware there is ..after installing it go to the dialer and type in *#272*imei# then select rwc then phone will do a factory reset then you will have rogers apps then just do the over the the air update via wifi.
Hope that helps!!
hey guys, new poster here.
I followed some online tutorial to root my SM-G870A. It failed miserably. As best i can tell it tried to revert me from 5.1.1 back to 4.4.1? Kitkat? Little did i know at the time that is a major no no with this phone.
So, i got stuck in a boot loop. With a ton of google help i was able to get myself out of bootloop. But now, It seems like i have no operating system as my phone will not boot past the "Samsung Galaxy S5 Active - Powered by Android" screen. There is no other text on the screen.
Additional notes:
- Comp is Windows 10
- I am able to access recovery mode.
- My computer does not recognize the phone completely. It makes the "blurp" noise but i cannot access it as a USB mass storage device or load files via usb to the external sd card.
- I can upload files to my external sd card via the computer, if needed to boot a file direct from recovery mode.
- I have USB drivers installed and up to date, as best i can tell.
- I have Odin 3.09 and Odin 10.7 available
- I have no backup files, and do not care that i have lost everything
- I just want the phone to go back to stock operating.
What files do i need? Do i have to flash it from Odin? Can i upload them to the External SD and launch the recover from there?
Ive tried several different files via flash but i must be doing something wrong because the phone screen doesnt progress past "Galaxy s5...."
AT&T ?
Bootloader is locked, you'll likely need to take it to an AT&T store to get them to fix it for you, or some local phone shop
Yeah At&t. Unfortunately, I disconnected the phone line 3 days ago. I took it into the store and the rep who called on me had no idea what i was talking about when i asked if they could reflash the stock rom/ firmware. she sent me to ATT tech support line. I have yet to call them as i bet it is a dead end with the line disconnected.
So with the "bootloader locked" i am out of luck? How do i unlock the bootloader? Not an easy feat?
is this the file i will need: G870AUCU1ANE4_Full.Odin.rar ? assuming i can get a way to unlock the bootloader?
You can't unlock the bootloader, that's the problem

hmmm... thats what i've been reading recently. So the phone is game over?
The only thing that 'might' flash, is a newer stock ROM
Unless anyone else can think of something, I'd just take it to your nearest AT&T store

If reflashing your stock firmware does not fix it and it is not caused by something you should return it for a replacment, it sounds like a problem with either the wifi driver or hardware and that is why your phone is unable to switch it on.
An internet connection is required to ensure your phone can be activated and also to make sure it has no attached google account (i.e stolen)
Try flashing the latest stock ROM with KIES or Odin, if its not fixed then a Samsung repair centre could also help

Telling me there is an error and not telling me what the error said isn't going to make fixing it any quicker?
Try finding the original firmware on sammobile.com and flash it with Odin. If you get any errors, tell them here so we have something to fish with
Maybe going back to the original stock ROM and then updating through OTA's before re-rooting would work.
Remember I need to know what the error said.
Edit; Also, try with different sim cards with data plans, it doesnt need wifi to go through activation, just an active internet connection

Yes I did, after the recovery reached 19% it said "phone cannot be updated" now I don't know what to do... ? Can't even get a connection between the phone and the pc now
Someone can help me please????
I've got literally the exact same problem...
I've tried everything that is possible, it was working perfectly with twrp, magisk root and even had edxposed (stock android, safetynet pass, Google pay working). I wanted finally the pie, kdz file has shown up so I wanted to update it as always (with twrp I could only update via LGUP) stopped at 10% and the it shown an error and turned off. Once I disconnected my cable while updating but was able to reconnect and relaunch update without any issue or losing data! Now I didn't know what to do so I gave it to a service, 2 and half week passes, they arek still working on it, if I have anything after that and my phone connects to pc or boots to android I will tell.

After I get back my phone I will try it, but as the phone wasn't seen by laptop after connecting it then using another lg up wouldn't have any sense. There may be two problems, or I ****ed up something while trying to update to pie or the kdz file isn't good. The servise told me today that there is a problem with the first partition, that's why the phone isn't seen after connecting. If I hadn't root my phone I could send it to lg because I'd still have my warranty, but now I'm waiting so they tell me how much it'll cost to use a special device that connects to the motherboard or something like that to get the first partition installed. So evilchef...

You are having the same problem as me, if you still have your warranty, then you can send your phone to an lg service, if not do it on your own money. After I get my phone back I will tell you if it still has all the data on it, but I'm more than sure that it has lost it. If in any way I get back then I can suggest you to get it repaired if you haven't got any backup done, if not it might be better to buy a new phone.
