[Q] How to remove or adjust the Volume Boost??? - Streak 5 General

Hi
I'm using stock 12332 build and performance fix which includes DJ_Steve kernel, volume boost etc, I'm generally very happy but the volume boost is to aggressive for me so during call the sound is too low or too loud, so could anybody tell me how to switch it off or adjust the volume step
Thnx in advance
Cheers

Is the Volume Boost available as a separate app or upgrade file?

It's just built in dj Steve rom, I sent him PM but no answer so far

At the risk of sounding like a jackass, what's wrong with the volume buttons? Just turn it down a bit
But to answer your question, yes. I think you'd need to download his source (if it's available) modify it, and build it yourself though.

I have had this problem too. The volume buttons after volume boost change the volume in increments far to big. If there is any easy fix for this please tell

[Q] Volume Increase

So I take it that no one has had success with the increasing caller volume hack in the registry? I tried editing maxincalluivolume and it will change the max number, but not the volume in general. Any one have success with this?
wrong thread, should be in the q&a section but in answer to your question there isnt any fix that im aware of. I know in europe many MP3 players had to have their volume reduced to fit in with EU laws, this is potentially the case on this ROM too...dunno, just a thought.
Yah I'm using the DFT roms release, and if I'm not in a quiet room I can't hear anything. Are the other roms the same? I'm on tmobile usa. Any info would be great.
Thanks
all the roms are the same, a few tweaks here an there but they are still pretty much identical, in answer to your question, they will all have the same issue, there is currently no way of controling all the seperate volumes. in a phone call if you press the volume buttons you can change in call volumes, at any other point its the sytem volume thats controled, there is an app for controlling the media volume however, search market place for media volume

Any apps/hacks that allow you to adjust in headset volume while in call?

A common issue I have had for a while is volume issues with various Roms.
Some roms have too low volume, sporatic volume issues and my current rom has a volume that just too high.
Is there any apps/hacks that can allow me how my phone reacts to in call volumes while on my headset?
Voodoo Controll, works great for adjusting media volume but not in call volume.
Thanks in advance.
I may just have to put something in my earbuds to mute the sound.
I am using my plantronic 975 and think that the volume is too low too!
Really want to adjust it

You hit the nail right on the head with this one. The only way to know how best to help you, is to know what version of Android you're running around with; then the tweaked ROM so we have a better idea.
There are a couple things you can do to adjust the incoming volume, with the most obvious using the volume while on the call, but you can also dive into the settings in the ROM itself to see if it has it's own individual tweak. Some ROMs come with an app to adjust it as well as you've seen so it's just a matter of finding that sweet spot. Keep in mind that you may have different settings for BT, headphones, speaker and regular ol' nothing.
Give us a little more info on your frustration, and I bet there's someone who's fixed the problem.

[Q] More precise volumn control?

It seems like I can never find a reasonable volume for headphone listening. One step is too quiet, but the next step up is way too loud. Coming from a galaxy S varient with voodoo sound, I'm a bit spoiled by its volumn control. Is there any way to increase the number of steps available to the volumn keys? I'm willing to go as far as editing and recompiling the code if that's the only way, just have to figure out if this is something that would be in the kernel or in android or if it is just a hardware limitation.

Where is the volume controlling file?

I feel that the in call volume with Lollipop update is a little low than KitKat, can anyone confirm this? Is there any Volume boosting mod available for LP?
Anyway, there is a volume related file (where all the dB are mentioned, speaker volume, in call volume etc.), but I have forgotten where to find that, I mean the path of it. Could anyone help me with that?
Thanks in advance.
System/etc/mixer_paths

sound on RR/LOS-based

Does anybody else have problems with the volume in those roms? Now that the DAC is fixed, there is no distortion. However I find the volume levels uneven and also extremely loud. Sure, it's nice to see that the DAC can push the volume so high but my ears always hurt when listening to music on those roms.
Did anyone find a way to tweak the volume or make the sound be more soft like in stock roms? If so, please share your experience thanks
We have an existing thread for the sound fix here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/sound-fix-los-los-base-roms-t3587373
Edit: Looks like the latest version, 4.2, has some volume fixes.
you can turn down the volume with the volume rocker ;P

I know what the OP is talking about.... Even having the volume rocker at the very first click up, and I'm on 30 step volume, the notifications are still really loud.
V4a can turn down the gain of the over-all system...But then the music is a little low.
I'm living with it, as I prefer using RR/LOs over stock. I also have music software and have went in and turned down my main notification tone and ringtone so they are usable on my A7.
