Does anybody else have problems with the volume in those roms? Now that the DAC is fixed, there is no distortion. However I find the volume levels uneven and also extremely loud. Sure, it's nice to see that the DAC can push the volume so high but my ears always hurt when listening to music on those roms.
Did anyone find a way to tweak the volume or make the sound be more soft like in stock roms? If so, please share your experience thanks
We have an existing thread for the sound fix here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/sound-fix-los-los-base-roms-t3587373
Edit: Looks like the latest version, 4.2, has some volume fixes.
you can turn down the volume with the volume rocker ;P

I know what the OP is talking about.... Even having the volume rocker at the very first click up, and I'm on 30 step volume, the notifications are still really loud.
V4a can turn down the gain of the over-all system...But then the music is a little low.
I'm living with it, as I prefer using RR/LOs over stock. I also have music software and have went in and turned down my main notification tone and ringtone so they are usable on my A7.

Does anyone else have this problem?
I have noise blocking headphones and work in a quiet environment so I don't need the volume very loud. I'm using the TouchFlo audio player and actually I have to have the volume on the lowest possible setting, anything more and it's too loud. This makes adjusting the volume for music pretty difficult since I cant go any lower!
Any help appreciated!

But you can use Windows Media Player.. You can lower it even more
Just press the - button and set it to 10% and nobody will hear it
After updating my Galaxy Tab 10.1 Limited Edition to 3.1, I noticed that the notification sound was considerably louder... even at the lowest volume. Has anybody else noticed this? Any proposed fixes? Thanks in advance!
open the volume thingy by using the volume rocker then tap the settings looking thing to the right of the volume slider. That should bring up the notification volume level.

I hadn't noticed that. Cheers.
It seems as if my tablet after the update to 3.1 it doesn't play music as loud from the headset Jack. It even gives you a warning about damaging your ears that I don't remember seeing in 3.0.
This a bummer because one of the main things I use my tablet for is playing music on my sterio. Its a great music player but now it seems as if it just won't turn up loud enough.
@onovich
I don't think the music volume was affected with my tab... but, then again, I didn't listen to a whole lot of music on it before the update.

Thanks for the info... I should've mentioned that I'm not a Honeycomb newb, so I was able to turn the notification volume down... but even at it's lowest setting, it's still pretty loud. But it seems like I have a good amount of bugs that nobody else has mentioned on these forums to think that a factory reset might fix them all.
I'll keep you all posted.
Thanks!
I am on the latest Trigger (Rom) and have had the same problem since build 12.
Basically my in-call volume (only while in call) has these massive jumps when adjusting the volume.
It sounds the like the following (highest to lowest) while using headset.
- Too low, too low, too low, Loud, Too loud, Ear Shattering +
The red flag, since build 12 was a crackling sound is heard where the headphones are inserted.
I have tried different Roms and this is where I am most happy. I posted in the the forum section with no real luck.
I tried the paid version of Voodoo sound and it adjusted the music volume but it seemed no changes were made to in call sound.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
The only thing I can think of is if you are holding the volume button then it will fly to min or max. Try single pressing the volume up or down. Just a thought.
Yeah, I noticed the same problem today while on the phone. Didn't really think too much of it, but its def a rom problem if you are also having the issue on redux.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
A common issue I have had for a while is volume issues with various Roms.
Some roms have too low volume, sporatic volume issues and my current rom has a volume that just too high.
Is there any apps/hacks that can allow me how my phone reacts to in call volumes while on my headset?
Voodoo Controll, works great for adjusting media volume but not in call volume.
Thanks in advance.
I may just have to put something in my earbuds to mute the sound.
I am using my plantronic 975 and think that the volume is too low too!
Really want to adjust it

You hit the nail right on the head with this one. The only way to know how best to help you, is to know what version of Android you're running around with; then the tweaked ROM so we have a better idea.
There are a couple things you can do to adjust the incoming volume, with the most obvious using the volume while on the call, but you can also dive into the settings in the ROM itself to see if it has it's own individual tweak. Some ROMs come with an app to adjust it as well as you've seen so it's just a matter of finding that sweet spot. Keep in mind that you may have different settings for BT, headphones, speaker and regular ol' nothing.
Give us a little more info on your frustration, and I bet there's someone who's fixed the problem.
Why is it that when I flash an Android Rom on my HTC HD2 the in call Volume is way too loud.
I turn down to it's minimum volume but it's just ear bleeding loud.
Can this be fixed?
I had this issue too, there's no fix that I know of, just a first aid thing - when your volume is louf on minimum, put it to maximum (at that time) and then get it back on minimum, it should help. Sometimes it doesn't though.
But for me, after a while the problem disappeared. Maybe a ROM update?

be fortunate yours is loud because mine is way too low in most cases i have to use my speaker phone to talk to ppl
I have tried turning up volume & down again & that didn't fix the problem & so i changed Roms's & it does it on all of them.
Surely there must be a fix for this problem?
