I flashed to JK6 today from JFD. I tested the MMS and it seems to be working but the image quality is ****ty. My Gf has the Dinc and past pics she's sent me are pretty decent. But now I've noticed they're terribly pixilated. anyone else notice this and if there's a fix?
Thanks

Yes this issue is still present, pics look a lot better then the jk2 leak I think.

that's just one of many issues I've found with JK6 on my phone.
Here is what I posted on the T-mobile forums about my time with JK6
Here's my breakdown of JK6 and it's problems thus far. Ok first off MMS will not send, under about phone ,status phone number shows unknown. There are a number of Apps that don't show up in the market. If I enable use wireless networks or Use sensor aiding for the GPS phone locks up a lot requiring me to pull the battery and reboot. Doesn't matter if its one or the other or both i get countless phone lock ups. I've found that some apps don't seem to like to be added to the home screen where their shortcuts disappear either within a few seconds or after I restart the phone. I had this problem with the JK2 ROMS I ran also. The Internal SD card is there has all my files on it but via the computer I am unable to copy to or delete anything from it. I've ran this version 2 ways upgraded from JI6 and from JDF to JK6 with the same results. did both without a master rest and both with a master reset after updating to it.
For me GPS was non functional without tinkering. I still can't get the GPS restore to find a lock without timing out. can't find settings that allows for a quick lock nor can I find a setting for it to not cause it to show me floating around when I'm not moving. I've seen posts saying GPS was great with this release and others having similar results as me. Which is causing me to continue to believe that there is some kind of hardware issues with the GPS.
The only issues I have is the MMS picture quality, GPS seems a little wonky. with JFD it locked in in litterally 10 -15 seconds (with UWN checked) now in JK6 with the same settings, it shows me within a certain distance but has yet to lock on?
Other issues haven't come up yet, overall performace seems a little better than JFD/JI6 IMO. I haven't had any issues installing purchased apps or finding apps on the market.
Does anyone think that T-Mobile purposely "leaked" this and JK2 and reads the complains people have and work them out? Like a secret "beta testing" thing? Just a thought...
Are you guys using KIES to upgrade?
Or is there any vibrant-specific program?
I'm asking 'cause i heard about T-Mobile not recommending Kies to upgrade vibrant.

As of now, there's no way to get the "leaked" update via Kies or Mini Kies. But, Mini Kies is for the US phones.
Otherwise download either a variant of the JK6 rom, or download it from Samfirmware.com and get into download mode and load up Odin 1.7 (i used this version). You might have to revert to JFD with the pit+tar and then update to JK6, I had the SD card issues after I tried to upgrade. Heygrl helped me, thanks.
pics you receive via MMS are sent through T-Mobile servers, they send you the pic quality based on what model they detect your phone as. If the MMS app on your phone reports a model that T-Mobile servers do not recognize then they send you the lowest quality pic to ensure you receive it just in case you are on a ****ty phone. I sent myself a pic and it was a tiny bit blurry but I think that was just from the compression that it does to allow my 5MP pic to be sent via MMS. It could be that since JK6 is not officially released the MMS servers do not recognize your phone and are sending you a low quality pic.

That kind of makes sense, if it can't recognize your phone then it doesn't know the quality it can push out so it sends the lesser one to ensure you get it.
Now, the question is, if when T-Mobile pushed the Official 2.2 out, and say it is in fact the JK6 we have now would it just T-Mobiles deal to fix this issue?

Can you normally receive MMS when on WiFi? I got one, it stuck at downloading so I turned off WiFi but it didn't download... Just hangs.
My wife and I are able to send and receive mms while on wifi. When I had sprint I noticed that if I didn't have a good signal the msg would fail to download. This happened quite a bit in my house because of the lack of signal I would get in there.
I have been having an issue where my MMS's will not download... dosent matter what app i use, they all say fail to download. I have a good signal and it just does not work! has anyone else had this issue and is there a fix for it? Or is it just Tmobile's ****ty service?
I'm having the same exact issue on cincinnati bell wireless with my vibrant, correct settings for sure too. I have had a nexus one settings should be and are identical. Please someone find a fix, can't use mms at all..
No issues here, unless I get mms while on the phone, sometimes it fails to download once I hang up. My girl has issue with them sending and downloading though, she's on my touch slide.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Since the last two or three updates within CM builds, I cannot receive MMS from my friend on the sprint network, I am on Tmobile.
I simply receive the message with an attachment that cannot be downloaded. every time I click the download button it tries to retrieve the file and fails
I can receive MMS from myself and it hasn't solved the problem
the apns seem like they have had no direct changes, is something to do with my friends phone more likely or is there a cause for this? tomorrow I will try to have someone on tmobile send me an mms to see if results are different.
need some kind of answer!!! preeeezee
recently gathered info leads me to the suggestion that it is 2.3.4 itself causing this issue, as there is a whole new box called "APN Protocol" in our APN edit menu. Haven't ascertained if there is an actual fix besides downgrading to an older build.
I am having this same exact problem. I know you haven't gotten and answer and it's been a while since you posted on this topic but i didn't want to get yelled at to "use the search feature"
no one seems to have the answer. i get mms from my sister (blackberry) and mom on Verizon. (my mom doesn't even have a smart phone) but my girlfriend with her blackberry on sprint wont come through. It shows the "download" button and it fails every time i click on it.
I haven't tried iphone users yet but seems the problem is carrier specific with my phone not playing nice with others.
I am running the latest cm7 nightly build on mytouch 3g slide from t-mobile. And using the stock message app to send and receive.
(please don't tell me to use handcent or anything of the sort, i'd like an answer to THIS problem, not just a work around)
please someone help!??
Did you try changing the User Agent in the messaging app settings and seeing if it helped?
yeah, actually tried them all. I believe thats only for sending mms so the receiving phone thinks its coming form another type of device. as far as receiving mms, no luck man
on 2.3.4 ive narrowed it down to I cannot receive MMS messages from iPhones on att or verizon. Anyone else who sends me one I am able to download.
Going back to rom in my signature
hmmm, interesting cause i can verify i get from Verizon but not Sprint. And we both have t-mobile, as far as i can see
Just wish the problem was more uniform so that it would be easier to narrow down the problem
im having the same problem with SIMPLE Mobile. it seems i can send to myself and recieve from ALL GSM carriers but CDMA carriers IE. sprint, verizon, metro pcs, do not work i can click download button till im blue in the face and they wont download...any ideas??
I fixed it, or rather it fixed itself. I backed up angry birds data (the only data that matters, otherwise my girlfriend yells at me that she has to start all over AGAIN lol) using titanium. I did a full wipe, data, davlik and cache. Then installed (at the time) the latest nightly, cm7 nightly 78. Automagically fixed, at least the people I tested (including my girlfriends, which was the initial problem) restored angry birds data and donezo. Tell me if it works for you.
1. MMS stops working by itself, after factory reset starts working again. No settings are being changed.
2. Bluetooth connection to my car Audi Handfree is very unreliable and causes network connection to stall, no data and calls go straigh to voicemail.
3. Call waiting stoped working. Everytime i get a second call my primary call mutes and I can't hear the other person and they can't hear me. By switching back and forth between callers I am able to hear first caller again.
All of these issues are solved by factory reseting the phone.
Does anyone have a clue why is this happening?
Using latest KE7 software.
I am on rogers and are having no issues with my phone that you are having... Maybe you got a bad phone?
Can you check if your mms messaging work?

I have used by SGS2 with BT Audio and calls on an Alpine KCE-400BT (Parrot unit rebranded as Alpine) and a Sony Xplod unit without any unusual behaviour
Haven't used call waiting other than by accident, no experience there either.
Hi I'm on Rogers is Windsor, I don't use MMS or bluetooth, but I use call waiting very often and not once as it messed up on me.
Anyone using Rogers having problems with digital call display? Whenever someone calls me it comes up as "unknown" but my account has digital call display on it.

Anyone using Rogers having any data stalling/dropping issues? It seems like every time I go into an area with no signal (subway or elevator for example) it just doesn't seem to connect back onto the network fully. Even though it will say 3G, the data connection is actually dead and I usually have to wait a while or cycle airplane mode to get it back.
I'm using the KE4 radio. If you guys are having no problems, could you tell me which ROM and radio (baseband) you're using? Also, if fast dormancy is enabled or disabled? You can check with dialing *#9900#. Also, which APN you're using for data? Is it the internet.com one or the rogers-core-appl1.apn?
Thanks
I just got a Bell SGS2 yesterday and rooted/unlocked it. I'm having 2 problems to date:
1) GPS cannot fix. I can be in view of 12 satellites, but it just won't fix.
2) My SMS timestamps are screwed up. Every message comes in with a stamp of 4 hours earlier.
Anyone else having these problems?
EDIT: Oddly enough, MMS works AND the timestamp is correct.

Instead of getting the Galaxy S2 unlock app from the market, get the Galaxy_S app. It'll crash the phone at step 2, but it'll be unlocked after it reboots!

I haven't had this problem with my SGS2, but I've had it with previous Android and Windows phones. It is a known bug.
Apparently the problem isn't present when using Handcent SMS (which is really good anyways) or you can use this program designed specifically to fix the problem.

NTT works on completely different frequencies....there is no way it'd work here. If you want a phone that'd work in Japan then you'd need to buy one here and get a Softbank SIM card while in Japan.

I am coming from a Nokia E71 so this is a big change for me. I am using the unlocked version of the Focus in India and there are some glitches I am trying to get my head around.
1. No option to connect to Wifi only when needed? - I can do this on my E71 where only when I use an app that need Internet access it either automatically connects to Wifi or asks me if I would like to connect. I see no such option on the Focus it's either always on or always off. I don't want to waste battery by constantly being connected to wifi but there doesn't seem to be any option to change this behaviour.
2. No Text Delivery reports so I don't know if the SMS eventually reached the recipient or not.
3. GPRS: I have tried various options to set up GPRS on my phone by selecting APN and using the settings from my provider but no dice.
4. No option to save usernames and passwords on frequently visited sites on IE9. Come on my piss poor Opera Mobile has this feature on my E71!
Any help with any of the above would be appreciated thank you.

1. There's an app called 'Toggle' that can help you pin a short cut to activate wi-fi when needed. You can download it here
2. Currently not available. You can put an official request here here
3. I'm not sure how, but my device selected the setting automatically. You can manually try this
4. Never had problems with that as I dont use much of IE on my WP. But you can read some more info here and here
Hope that helped!!

Do you know if your carrier supports this? If they do, you can enable it using a registry editor, then going into Settings/Messaging and turning it on. Unfortunately, not all carriers support it. ATT does not.

Thanks for the tips. My phone is not yet software unlocked I am waiting for Chevron to open up licenses so that I can get it unlocked. So guess I will just have to live without delivery reports for now.
Very happy with the phone except for the abysmal battery life.

Yeah, I could use more battery life also, but I'm on my phone a LOT during the day, so it's expected. I had an iPhone 4s for a couple days, and I was able to drain it in less than one day also. It really depends on usage...
As far as unlocking, you can do it for FREE by visiting this page using your Mobile Browser in Mobile Layout (open IE, go to settings, select Mobile version on Website preference):
www.windowsphonehacker.com/windowbreak
More info can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20619864 The other benefit is that this unlocker is not limited to 10 sideloaded apps like Chevron.
This method is WAY easier than the others.... Just open the webpage and follow the instructions.

I've tried it both ways. I'm currently on 7720 because I never noticed a performance difference on 8107. I am now going to wait for ATT to release it (if they do), since I would like to get driver updates also if they include them. I never had the keyboard issue, and the other fixes don't bother me personally.

I ordered my OP8P directly from OnePlus, but my MMS doesn't seem to be working. Anyone else had the issue?
I actually got a message that the settings were not correct, and that the correct ones were being sent to my phone (had never seen that before). I looked at the APN info, and it seems to be correct... based on memory.
I'm on T-MOBILE also and received the same message. The phone had an update so I installed and rebooted the phone. All call, text, MMS, data worked like it's supposed to. Try rebooting?

I've tried rebooting. Things are a lot better, but I still have some issues with calling out (can't remember the message... will try and get a screenshot next time). If I immediately try again, the call will go out.
I'm also not seeing any wifi calling. The feature is enabled, but it doesn't seem to be working... even on the "wifi calling preferred" setting.
Just wanted to post an update.... still having issues. MMS pretty much never works with wifi on. For this reason, my wifi is off pretty much all day. It never fails that as soon as I turn it on, a picture or group message comes in.
Also, this does not affect SMS or RCS messages, which appear to come in over data somehow.... just MMS.
Need a fix bad.
I'm having the same issues with T-Mobile. I'm leaving wifi off in the meantime. Hope there is a fix soon.
That was supposedly fixed with the last update. What software version are you on?

I used to use the Textra app, but really prefer Google Messages for it's web app. I am on the PC all day, so it's aggravating to have to pick up the phone all the time. I've tried MS Your Phone, but it's not as easy to use, or as reliable.
I created a thread with a similar (but opposite) issue to what you're experiencing. A friend of mine with an international 8 Pro on TMO is having the exact issue you are.

Didn't get any help from that but you can try the APN trick for a temporary fix until it's patched for real. I also created a thread on Reddit for this and I think I found the solution. I use Textra, but that alone didn't help. Someone on Reddit told me to disable the stock messaging app, as well as revoke it's permissions to everything. Since doing that I'm no longer having issues. It's only been about a day so we'll see how it goes from here.
Hope I could help!

Duplicating the APN worked (of course, I did the whole thing then swiped back, thinking it would save, grr). I'm guessing it won't last long. It's just as easy to disable wifi for it to send... so weird that you're having the opposite problem.
**EDIT**
Nevermind... it didn't work. I was able to send out with wifi on (which I couldn't do before), but my wife's test message wouldn't download until I disabled wifi.
I had frozen the stock messaging app on day one, with tibu. I thawed it, revoked the permissions, and disabled it via settings this time. No luck "Not sent. Tap to try again".

Granted, I haven't done any extended testing yet, but I can send/receive MMS now with wifi connected. I upgraded about 4 hours ago, and this is probably the longest I've ever had wifi on.
Now that you've posted this, I'm skeptical it will last, though.

The latest update seems to have fixed it for me. I was also having issues receiving calls. Callers would get a busy signal. The update fixed that as well. Maybe try taking your SIM out, reboot, then put it back in and reboot.
That didn't work. I'm finally getting notifications from my sports app after the 10.5.8 update. Just have to fix the wifi now.
Wifi still dies on me, but not with the ! on the icon. Just no traffic. I had to toggle it. But nowhere near as much as it used to. The MMS issue is the only reason I don't leave wifi on. I was really hoping it was fixed.
Same issue here even with most recent updates. MMS will work 1/10 times over wifi (sending & receiving) but not the other 9 times.
Since the update I've also noticed wifi issues - they may have been there before but didn't notice. Wifi seems to hang, I sometimes see a "!" next to the wifi symbol. In many cases I turn WiFi off and the connectivity issue in whichever app is resolved.
So at this point on TMobile there is no reason to keep wifi on, which is unfortunate because with their "5G" I actually get half the speeds of LTE. ?
