Am I the only one having problems when the phone switches automatically from 3g to wifi connection? It connects but the connectoin does not work. If I cycle the wifi connection on/off it works flawlessly? Any ideas?
is it the following bug:
if it is then its not just a Vodafone issue, please star the following bug
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2207&colspec=ID Type Status Owner Summary Stars
or is it this problem:
http://www.zdnet.com.au/vodafone-us...mpaign=Feed:+zdnetaustralia+(ZDNet+Australia)
Its not the first problem, as I stated above, the problem is when switching from 3g not to 3g.
And the second one seems to be Vodafone network related. Im on Telia Sweden network. The problem is in all Vodafone based 2.2 roms i tried, and does not for example exist in CM RC2
So, shall I take the silence as I'm the only one with this problem?

Hello,
I have a DOPOD D810 and using with Vodafone-SP. When I have the 3G on the calls least about 11 seconds (sometimes 9 seconds) and without 3G (the old GPRS) the phone calls work perfectly.
Anyone had the same problem or know why it's happening?
sometimes, when iam connected with pc (usb) and share internet connection to it. i dont try it with gprs.
but when i have 3g connection without pc, works perfect
Is HSDPA in your region? Because i think i have read some posts where the HSDPA implementation makes that problem. Just turn off HSDPA support and see if its ok.
i dont know, but icons switching between 3g and H
i'm having the same problem too. The calls will drop in less than 10secs in 3G mode but with normal calls. Checked with the network provider and the Dopod HQ. Network provide says it could be the hardware problem and the Dopod HQ says it could be the network problem.... this is making me sick. And some Expert says this is normal to PDA's 3.5G phone.
Basically I can say that depends of the cell, I mean, sometimes 3G calls works fine and sometimes not, usually the ones who doesn't work fine are in different 3G cell (becasue I'm in different location).
So, can be both, a network problem (some software or hardware in the cell antena) and the phone (who don't 'talk' with the cell properly).
I search and a lot of spanish Vodafone users (Trinity) have the same problem.
just noticed that after softreset the 3G signal becomes perfect and calls signal will stay strong. But after i awhile without making calls out or incoming calls. Then the nightmare happens again. Checked with the Dopod hardware HQ, they says if the 3G signals drops then the GSM will drops too. So, it couldn't be the hardware unit problem.
Im having problem with my network connection.
Everytime it has to change from the sweden 3G network to my Tele2 GSM network it looses connection. This roaming issue is very annoying.
Most of the times it will register to network again but it takes several minutes.
Sometimes I have to softreset.
Another problem: I seem to have full 3G-signal but when I start PIE and a connection is started the signal goes down... Why on earth is that?
Anyone else noticed this?
recall when 3 first started with 3g here
they had the same problem the problem was
not with the phones but with the way that
the they handled the roaming from 3g to 2g
people had phone conversations ended by the
changing from 3g to 2g and such
think they fixed it now but it was not a phone issue
I need help with tele2comviq 3G
I have an htc diamond, I successfully conect to 3G for free but it can't surf internet but only works with skype. Any suggestion or help?
I have searched this forum for 3 weeks now but have not found an answer to my problem.... forgive me if it is here somewhere.
I have a pola200 running the official O2 WM6.1 ROM including the 1.59.42.15 radio. I have a vodafone SIM with full data enabled and am certain the internet settings are correct. I know the SIM works as I have tried it in another phone.
However, I can only connect to GPRS when using GSM as the band setting on the phone. As soon as I select Auto as the band setting and try to connect a data or voice call the signal drops and the connection fails.
I know that the phone is picking up a HSPDA or 3G signal as the icon changes but as soon as I try to connect to the internet or make a voice call I get a Dialed: internet -
I have tried all available Polaris radio ROMs and also tried loading udK's Diamond R8 ROM as I thought O2 may have loaded something to stop it working. Nothing has worked.
Any ideas?
Simple question, you probably have but, have you run the Connection Wizard and is the SIM card 3G compatible because my Vodafone SIM card isn't.
I have run the connection wizard and the SIM is certainly 3G compatible - it works in other 3G phones.
Hmm, then I'm stumped. Sorry I can't be of help.
Hey again everyone, I posted a question earlier about a possible radio issue on a HTC HD2 I unlocked from O2 UK today and I'm now using it on T-Mobile. Basically my problem is that I can access mobile data while my signal is T-Mobile only, but as soon as it switches to T-Mobile/Orange (these two networks now share each others signals), the H (3G icon) turns into an R (stands for Roaming, amirite?) and I get a notification telling me that I've lost connection because I left my home area with roaming not turned on... However, with roaming on I can access the internet constantly, but I'm worried about incurring hefty data roaming charges so I don't think that's a solution.
The phone is running an Android ICS ROM (the NexusHD2 one, thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434860), it was locked to O2 UK and it's now running on T-Mobile/Orange. Also WiFi, GPS and calls/texts work so I doubt it's a radio issue.
Been searching the internet for a while now to find a solution and can't find one, if you can find a thread with the answer please link me
Thanks in advance!

IMO it's not a radio issue!
You should contact your network operator and ask them about this and extracharges for that (strange kind of) roaming...
I once experienced some issues on data roaming while having Wifi turned on. Turning it off made it work fine on my tytungs ICS.
Hi,
Using a N910F with T-Mobile UK, default APN settings for EE. The phone was sold by O2.
I'm having a hard time maintaining a connection to the HSDPA network when out and about, far more so than with my previous phone with the same carrier in the same places. The signal will often show as full whereas the connection isn't established (based on having the 2 arrows highlighted) under the H icon. Once the connection is dropped it takes a long time to re-establish.
I've searched and read about other users having poor reception quality but this seems to be a different issue to the one I'm trying to resolve.
I haven't seen any alternative radios available for this phone yet so not sure if I just need to wait a while. If anyone has working APN settings for T-Mobile UK and can share them that would be really helpful.
Thanks for your advice!
