How do you know if these are working? I'm running DK17 and neither code seems to be working for me. GPSCLRX takes me to the enter MSL code and I input my correct MSL and then it gives me the option to reset the GPS. I press Yes but it does nothing. at all. the GPS setup doesnt even register. Has anyone else tried this?
BTW codes i used are:
*#1472365#
##GPSCLRX#

The *#1472365# code is known not to work with the Froyo ROMs. But the ##GPSCLRX# reset is reportedly working. What makes you think it is not? There never was any feedback after such a reset when using the stock firmware. The GPS cache just got silently cleared. Try your GPS using GPS Test.

Ah. I wasn't sure if anything was supposed to pop up when using the GPSCLRX or not. I did install GPStest could not find ANY satelites. I also tried installing BThomas' gpsfix but to no avail.
I'm stumped...

Did your GPS ever work after flashing DK17? There have been lots of reports here that the flashing itself breaks the GPS totally, and just clearing the GPS cache can't fix it. There also are published workarounds for this installation problem, but they do not include using GPSCLRX.

Now that you mention it, I think the GPSCLRX method was used before the leak was published. Before I went over to the Froyo betas, I used stock rom with phoenix kernel so I could take advantage of the MobileAP they had going on. GPS worked fine then, got to within 6 meter accuracy. Now I cant seem to get any satellites... Oh well, I guess I'll look around for more fixes...
this process worked for me.
i could not get any connection when romed to 2.2. After doing ##gpsclrx# i had to reload the nav app because they were deleted with the nav clearing. reloaded app and had sat connection in lessthen 10 sec. works great now.

Thats funny... When I typed in the code and then my MSL, it did nothing. Didn't get GPS signal or anything. Didn't even delete my Nav app... I even checked to see if I was getting any satellites to show up via the Market GPStool app thingy and couldn't get anything... I ended up going this route and it worked like a charm for me:

None of this is working for me.
My steps:
-Rooted
-Clean install of CM7
-GPS not working > researched...
-Backed up using Nandroid
-Wiped within Amon-RA
-Installed Fresh ROM (as per instructions to fix GPS needed a sense based rom)
-Once Fresh rom installed, opened dialer > ##gpsclrx# > nothing... no pop-up, nothing.
-Tried the EPST.apk fix > same results no lock on postion.
-Installed GPS Stats > still no luck, same huge blue radial around my general position... no lock.
Have no idea where to proceed from here.
Gps does not work with cm7 its only in alpha 4 .so your pretty much wasting your time with the dialer code

I'd suggest heading over to the forum for your phone.. Probably Evo or Hero if you installed a Fresh Rom..
Sounds like you deleted your RSA keys...

I am having this problem recently. I try to download any app or an update to any app. It will just sit at starting download and never download.
I am on Fresh ROM 1.0
I did update some apps after installing the ROM so that's not the problem.
I also have a problem that if I clear the cache, when I reboot Everything force and keeps force closing forever. Whats up with that? isn't the cache supposed to recompile on reboot?
I tried clearing the cache to fix the market issue to no avail (beacuse of all the force closes never got to see what happened after clearing cache). I tried clearing the cache from recovery and using Fresh's app installer, and both times tons of force closes.
Someone please HELP!
U probably need to login to gtalk. I had the same problem from using autostarts. Jus open the gtalk app, it will/should sign u in automatically.
this is not a gtalk issue. gtalk is not even related to what problem he has. i had it happen to me on my eris when i was playing around in the bootloader. when i started back up everything force closed and would not start. only sugetion i can give you on the force close it is a factory reset or ruu reset both will work. as far as downloads not starting are you rooted?
Yes, to install a custom ROM you need to be rooted. Tried the gtalk sing in to fix the Market issue and no dice. Still hanguing...
Anything else??

So I'm not going to call you out or something, but please read before you speak. Gtalk is MAJORLY tied in to the market and it is a documented fix from google themselves to try signing in to gtalk to fix stalled downloads.
Even though it doesn't work for everyone (depending on the reason it's stalled) it IS related.

Hundreds (maybe thousands?) of posts. Starting back in March and dating all the way until today. Google hasn't been able to resolve the issue. I can tell you that what has always worked for me is a combination of cancel download > disable wifi > disable mobile data > enable mobile data > try download again.
Didn't work? Reboot and repeat. Eventually it will go......
Thanks a lot flipz. I'll try that

95% of the time your second sugestion works. it may be that gtalk has major issues with stalled downloads but ussually i have this issue when i start my download over wifi for some reason it just never connect to the google server but when i kill the download and connect over 3G or Edge it works everytime on my G1. that's been a documented fix too. this issue only happens more frequently on custom roms than stock android roms. so it's more of a rom issue that googe issue. we're all here to help each other not trash talk each other. from my point of veiw gtalk may have some type of issue but it's more with the rom cooks than the app itself and it's not their fault either gtalk was desighned to work on googles cookie cutter os not on the home brew roms so errors happen you just have to know how to sweat talk your andoid to doing things when issues happen. the problem i had with your post was you only stated the gtalk issue when the wifi issue is more prevelent. i wasn't sure if he was on stock os or custom os so i asked about it. then i would have given him the instructions on turning off the the wifi, killing the downloads, and restarting the phone. like you told him to in the second post cause that seem to work better than the gtalk method.

sorry. i did not read your post clearly thought when you said fresh you ment fresh install. haven't really been keeping up with the hero roms to much and thier names still waiting for my eris to get it's turn at root. when i saw your post it just reminded me of how my rooted G1 would not start downloads over wifi. so i asked rooted or not just to be on the safe side.
the thing that got me a little heated was when he said "not to call you out" then he goes into a trist about how wifi seems to be the better fix.
by the way did you get your problem fixxed?

(Ok,fair enough it can be confusing when i wrote fresh; no worries).
About my problem: Not at all man, I tried every single one of the fixes and no luck. I am thinking about going back to stock and reflashing the custom ROM. I'll report back if/when/how it gets fixed

I ended up factory resetting and now everything downloads normally
So... apps were downloading perfect from market UNTIL I restored a nandroid backup. Afterwards, Apps hang again. I mean exactly after restoring, went to the market and the problem is there again. Can the problem be tied to restoring backups? Or just coincidence?
Update:
Got the downloads working after clearing the cache of every single google application on the phone as well as IM.
After this, started downloading the app and it still hung. Opened gtalk and exactly as it signed in it started downloading fine.
I tried the afore mentioned fixes and had no luck, so for anyone who has this issue and has not been able to resolve it, this is another workaround.
Just FYI to anyone still with problems, I had problems again today EXACTLY after restoring a backup again.
This post I quoted by Zippy-man did the trick today Great Help..

OK so I went from having force closing problems to wifi problems and now it's market problems I'm slowly getting better at this. So when I want to download something on the market it starts, downloads to 10 percent and just stops and I have no idea. This happens almost every 5 or so downloads and I once cleared cache an it worked for just one application and that's it. Thanks for your help guys

[Q] marketplace not working
as of today my android marketplace hasnt worked... i click an app to download and install and it starts the download then the thing just disappears from my notification bar and it never actually installs on my device. ive tried this on several different apps, including some that i have downloaded before but decided to uninstall, yet the problem remains. im running cm7 nighty #35 if thats any help. can anyone explain whats up?
First thing I would try is to clear Market cache by going to Settings > Applications > Manage applications > All > Scroll down to Market, select Force Stop then Clear cache, and try downloading the app again.
yeah i had tried that. but no luck, it didnt work. i guess maybe itll fix itself when i update my rom. i dont know
Drum doesn't work did that already I think it's the rom maybe they will fix it soon...

I was having an issue with it as well (but i'm on cm7, if it makes a diff). I did the clear cache/stop updates method which worked great the first time. Then the issue happened again, i cleared cache and rebooted, worked fine. THEN i had the issue again, (but i noticed it seems to have happened after using the clean feature in sd maid). Removed sd maid, cleared cache, havent had a problem since.
Hello smart people!
Has anyone else noticed this? The Galaxy note 3 GPS stopped locking. It now flashes continuously but I cannot get a lock.
AGPS is ok and working fine, but I need the GPS for google navigation...
I tried other apps that test the GPS, they are not getting a lock either.I have stock SM-N900, I live in Dubai.. This is not a rooted phone..
I do not remember anything happening to it, it just stopped working.
I was in Germany last week and the GPS (without data) was working great on cached maps!
I think only google maps was updated or something.. I removed the update just to test.. still didn't work..
I cleared the maps cache from "applications".. also not working...
Experts, any advice please?
Thank you!

Cleared the system cache in recovery?
I had GPS issues too. I downloaded the "GPS Status & Toolbox" from "MobiWIA - EclipSim", and ran Tools -> Calibrate Compass. The compass is much more stable now!

No, that's the Dalvik cache. Anyone can clear the system cache.
Solved.
I uninstalled google maps latest update, shut down, removed battery, put it back, restarted. Bingo! Locked in 1 sec.
Thanks for all those who offered to help.
Since updating my firmware to G900FXXU1ANE2_G900FOXA1ANE2_BTU my google ok voice command is not working even in the Google Now app, everything is switched on to recognise voice. Im not sure it is the update that has caused this, can anyone confirm this? Im on the Galaxy SM900F international latest firmware. Thinking of going back to original firmware if this is the case.
Could be a bug, is the app up to date? Try going into application manager, go to all, find google search and press it. Clear Cache and clear data and reset it to factory or if possible uninstall (if uninstalling don't worry about cache or data) then reinstall or update depending on your situation.

Already tried that thanks Gareth it worked randomly once then wouldn't work again I think it's possibly the upgrade have you upgraded your firmware? and does google voice still work??

I am running the phoenix rom. I always use the s voice rather than Google itself but Google search does work. If you're root you could remove the app completely with "root app delete" then download it off Google play again? If it's a bug with the firmware then it should be patched very quickly.
Got it working again not sure how or why tried turning a few Google now settings off then back on again seems to be working fine now was strange so maybe it is a bug thanks for your input Gareth. Ive usually flashed omega roms in the past (S3) but with the phone been so fast root has been good enough for now

Glad you got it working and this will be useful for other people who have a similar problem.
I updated via the OTA to the May update recently and now my GPS is totally messed up. It generally knows where I am when I start a trip, but then is super slow to update my location, and is a block or two off of my actual location. I tried doing a factory reset but this didn't solve the issue. Any ideas?
Have you tried using GPS Status and Toolbox?
Do this with a working Wi-Fi connection: Settings>>Manage A-GPS State>>Reset. Then within the same menu, hit download.

Only thing left to do now is to backup, wipe all partitions, and load a fresh image. If the problem remains, it is hardware related. I would make sure to fastboot FORMAT userdata, system and cache before flashing the latest full image.
I've noticed that the 7.1.2 is not fullty compatible with the settings that might be hanging around from 7.1.1 (or before).
To get my phone to function properly I had to do a clean install and wipe the phone completely.
before that I had SIM issues and Bluetooth issues.
