Since updating my firmware to G900FXXU1ANE2_G900FOXA1ANE2_BTU my google ok voice command is not working even in the Google Now app, everything is switched on to recognise voice. Im not sure it is the update that has caused this, can anyone confirm this? Im on the Galaxy SM900F international latest firmware. Thinking of going back to original firmware if this is the case.
Could be a bug, is the app up to date? Try going into application manager, go to all, find google search and press it. Clear Cache and clear data and reset it to factory or if possible uninstall (if uninstalling don't worry about cache or data) then reinstall or update depending on your situation.

Already tried that thanks Gareth it worked randomly once then wouldn't work again I think it's possibly the upgrade have you upgraded your firmware? and does google voice still work??

I am running the phoenix rom. I always use the s voice rather than Google itself but Google search does work. If you're root you could remove the app completely with "root app delete" then download it off Google play again? If it's a bug with the firmware then it should be patched very quickly.
Got it working again not sure how or why tried turning a few Google now settings off then back on again seems to be working fine now was strange so maybe it is a bug thanks for your input Gareth. Ive usually flashed omega roms in the past (S3) but with the phone been so fast root has been good enough for now

I am having this problem recently. I try to download any app or an update to any app. It will just sit at starting download and never download.
I am on Fresh ROM 1.0
I did update some apps after installing the ROM so that's not the problem.
I also have a problem that if I clear the cache, when I reboot Everything force and keeps force closing forever. Whats up with that? isn't the cache supposed to recompile on reboot?
I tried clearing the cache to fix the market issue to no avail (beacuse of all the force closes never got to see what happened after clearing cache). I tried clearing the cache from recovery and using Fresh's app installer, and both times tons of force closes.
Someone please HELP!
U probably need to login to gtalk. I had the same problem from using autostarts. Jus open the gtalk app, it will/should sign u in automatically.
this is not a gtalk issue. gtalk is not even related to what problem he has. i had it happen to me on my eris when i was playing around in the bootloader. when i started back up everything force closed and would not start. only sugetion i can give you on the force close it is a factory reset or ruu reset both will work. as far as downloads not starting are you rooted?
Yes, to install a custom ROM you need to be rooted. Tried the gtalk sing in to fix the Market issue and no dice. Still hanguing...
Anything else??

So I'm not going to call you out or something, but please read before you speak. Gtalk is MAJORLY tied in to the market and it is a documented fix from google themselves to try signing in to gtalk to fix stalled downloads.
Even though it doesn't work for everyone (depending on the reason it's stalled) it IS related.

Hundreds (maybe thousands?) of posts. Starting back in March and dating all the way until today. Google hasn't been able to resolve the issue. I can tell you that what has always worked for me is a combination of cancel download > disable wifi > disable mobile data > enable mobile data > try download again.
Didn't work? Reboot and repeat. Eventually it will go......
Thanks a lot flipz. I'll try that

95% of the time your second sugestion works. it may be that gtalk has major issues with stalled downloads but ussually i have this issue when i start my download over wifi for some reason it just never connect to the google server but when i kill the download and connect over 3G or Edge it works everytime on my G1. that's been a documented fix too. this issue only happens more frequently on custom roms than stock android roms. so it's more of a rom issue that googe issue. we're all here to help each other not trash talk each other. from my point of veiw gtalk may have some type of issue but it's more with the rom cooks than the app itself and it's not their fault either gtalk was desighned to work on googles cookie cutter os not on the home brew roms so errors happen you just have to know how to sweat talk your andoid to doing things when issues happen. the problem i had with your post was you only stated the gtalk issue when the wifi issue is more prevelent. i wasn't sure if he was on stock os or custom os so i asked about it. then i would have given him the instructions on turning off the the wifi, killing the downloads, and restarting the phone. like you told him to in the second post cause that seem to work better than the gtalk method.

sorry. i did not read your post clearly thought when you said fresh you ment fresh install. haven't really been keeping up with the hero roms to much and thier names still waiting for my eris to get it's turn at root. when i saw your post it just reminded me of how my rooted G1 would not start downloads over wifi. so i asked rooted or not just to be on the safe side.
the thing that got me a little heated was when he said "not to call you out" then he goes into a trist about how wifi seems to be the better fix.
by the way did you get your problem fixxed?

I ended up factory resetting and now everything downloads normally
So... apps were downloading perfect from market UNTIL I restored a nandroid backup. Afterwards, Apps hang again. I mean exactly after restoring, went to the market and the problem is there again. Can the problem be tied to restoring backups? Or just coincidence?
Update:
Got the downloads working after clearing the cache of every single google application on the phone as well as IM.
After this, started downloading the app and it still hung. Opened gtalk and exactly as it signed in it started downloading fine.
I tried the afore mentioned fixes and had no luck, so for anyone who has this issue and has not been able to resolve it, this is another workaround.
Just FYI to anyone still with problems, I had problems again today EXACTLY after restoring a backup again.
This post I quoted by Zippy-man did the trick today Great Help..

A problem I have with my Nexus 10, which started several days ago.
As soon as I click the "Google Play" app I get "Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped." error and it shuts down.
Seen this problem in other forums, but no definitive answer.
It runs on Android 4.2.2.
I've tried:
Deleting cache of Google play, and some other apps.
Removing my google account and adding it back (or other accounts)
Factory reset (So my current setup is clean).
I'm not as tech savvy as the common dwellers here so I've no idea how to ROM flash or with what to flash it with (Also I'm unrooted, and not sure how I restore older versions of things).
I'm open to suggestions.

If you go to settings, apps, and you press google play, you can uninstall newer versions. I had this problem, but it was because my google play wasn't in /system/app (im rooted with a ROM, and I deleted the gplay from the gapps, so this is not the same problem).

I looked for it, and it doesn't give me that button. I figured that's because after he factory reset it when back to default version (3.10.10) and wasn't able to update, so there's nothing to uninstal.
I'm losing hope, followed by sanity. Arghhh
So far I've unlocked and rooted the N10 to install the latest google play store.
Now the error is changed to "No connection" with a retry button.

Yes, that's what he's saying. Sounds like SOMETHING is corrupted, somewhere - even the factory-reset partition.
Last night I was getting "No connection" on G-Play - this morning it's working OK. All other network apps work OK. Not sure what happened.
I'm running PA latest ROM.

Turned it on today and everything starting working as before this problem started.
It must be something on their end, too bad they didn't bother letting me know, wasted some hours on this.
Thanks for all who tried to help.
I've had issues with error-less GPlay crashes that require a reflashing of the entire OS, sadly
Hello, I always used Greenify in my devices, but with J5 I've a big problem, I'm not able to use it anymore. I don't have root and I don't want to use it, so I use Greenify non-root mode. It worked for 2 days, but then it has stopped working. The app asked me to activate it in accessibility settings, but when I do it there's a message that says "Settings has stopped working". I can't hibernate apps anymore, and I don't want to root my phone. I'm on Samsung Stock lollipop and I already tried a data factory reset, I also flashed last firmware with odin, nothing to do. In Marshmallow there isn't this problem but I don't want to upgrade, I also tried to clear data and chache or to uninstall Greenify. Is there a fix? Help!

You need to install a TTS, like GoogleTTS. Then choose GoogleTTS at language settings if i remember properly and then the problem is gone. I had same problem in past, and after i googled, i got this answer which solved my problem.
Im not sure, but i think Greenfy does slow down the phone over time. I always used it, even now, but ill check about this on google sometime.

You don't need root lol. Just check Google Play for Google TTS and install it, or download it from apkmirror if you don't have gapps. Then put it on in settings like I told you in my previous post.

Hey all,
Today I've noticed that Google assistent can't register any sound. I thought my microphone might be broken, but it seems to work just fine on other apps and on calls. I've Uninstalled the Google app updates, cleared the data and cache, cleared cache in oneplus recovery, rebooted, checked permissions, but nothing seems to work.
Any ideas?
Maybe try clean flashing whatever ROM you're on? I know, bit of an extreme solution but you've already tried the usual troubleshooting steps so I thought I'd suggest it!

I'm completely stock. Reflashing the whole rom and having to backup all data for this feels like a real pain in the *ss, but I guess I have no choice.. I might wait for the official Android 8 ROM to be released though. Thanks got your reply!
Well, I've reflashed several times now (including android o beta) but it is still not working. All Google services aren't registering any sound input, while my mic works fine. Any clues?
Edit: it does work with a Bluetooth headset, but not without.
i tried restarting and it didnt work

Guys, an easier way is this. Just turn on Battery Saver mode and your update or download will start immediately...

You can also delete Google Play Services cache, this works pretty well in those cases. Even if you have problems trying to download a device system update.
Even it's data (in this case you'll have to add an account for Google's data backup again).
However, keep in mind this kind of processes won't work well if you have enabled apps, device features or Magisk modules that force device to save battery in some way.

Would be good to tell us which system you've installed.
Any custom ROM? Are you in stock?
On the first case, check ROM installation.
If it came with gapps preinstalled, better flash an updated version of that ROM (clean or dirty would change, depending of Android major verion in which that update is based), otherwise flash another gapps, I use OpenGapps.Try to flash, at least, nano gapps.
If you're on stock, things are quite different, since there you haven't the same way so solve things, more than than reflashing firmware.

Stock Android One version 9 (Pie) with regular updates. :silly:
Looks like something is screwed up there.
Is your device rooted?
I feel that would be better to backup your data and flash latest firmware with Mi Flasher tool.
The same is happening some times and on my A1 and is fully updated stock rom without root or any other thing...
I think it has to do with the latest version of Google store or Google services...
