Ok....update to Froyo succesfully using Kies...
I try to connect the phone to Kies...Kies recognize the phone, shows the phone memory, the sd card.... But when I use the Contacts widget, it says "no phone connected". If I click the contact button from the upper right corner, where Kies shows the phone, I get next message: other application is using the phone. Please close that application first.
Enybody knows why? I have to say one important thing; this problem appears after applying One click lag fix 2.2. Can I fix this problem?
Thank's
I have same issue, don't know how to fix it

Hi,
Today I have tried to do an upgrade but this is what I get after I click on Next:
Checking the information on your device ... Please wait ...
Please don't disconnect your device from your PC or
the power supply until the update is completed.
Click to collapse
It just hangs there and does nothing. When I press enter, it goes away (but I need to do an EndTask on the PC). Then everything starts all over again.
My screen says:
USB
v1.01
Click to collapse
and while running MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe, it does not change anything (stays the same).
What do you recommend?
MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe starts with 44 Mb 's of memory and then I see active synch popping in the tray and goes away. a couple of seconds after that, MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe falls to 4 Mb 's of memory usage and idles like that...
Missed this post...
This happens to me too - exactly like you describe...
I have no clue what's going on. And I found no indication as to what "update fails" means - is there an indication on the PDA/PC screen? On both? What is the message? etc.
Since you have been there before me - what did you do? Remove teh PDA from teh craddle and things were as before - just as nothing has happened? Is it "safe" to remove the PDA from the craddle?
Found the answer
1. The fact that the thing "hangs in there" and the task is idel in the TaskManager actually means that the upgrade has failed...
2. REMOVE the task from the Task Manager and re-run the Updater. This time the upgrade will succeed - you will see the various firmware upgrade stages and the PDA screen will indicate which firmware it upgrades.
Hope I helped,
Al
Fixed this with installing activesync 3.7.1 to my sisters computer and doing the upgrade again.
the problem occurs when the PC finds a device called <i dont remember now>. It was not that task named MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe waiting in the tasks list.
Strangely, while watching the tasks list, I noticed that the process just suddenly falls its size from 40something MBs to 4 MBs if PC finds a device called <which i dont remember>.
The problem i have is whenever i open a text message the page is scrolled all the way down. I have to scroll up to read the message.
It is an XDA Exec running WM6 and works fine after a hard reset but after some time it starts again. I suspect some software may have changed a setting somewhere but it never happens straight away after all my software is installed. I can do a hard reset install all software then its fine for some time then all of a sudden it starts.
Has anyone else had this happen or know any possible solutions ?
yup, happened to my hermes when i upgrade it with WM6, seems to be some aplication that we installed that makes that error. without solution i hardreset my handset, install the progie one by one and looking the messanging for any error, continuing till all the apps are installed, spb backup it at last
Hi thanks for the reply.
If you find anything please let me know.
I have tried the installing one at a time and checking but everything was fine. Then all of a sudden it started doing it and i am sure i had not installed anything else.
I will probably try again but i do not have the time at the moment.
So I have noticed all of the sudden that no matter what I try to do the window I open closes itself. Sometimes this is immediate and others it will be about 5 seconds into working on something. I've tried doing hard resets, reboots, and flashing the rom but nothing seems to correct this.
Any ideas what it might be?
are you using oxios meoery (icon with skull in /startup)?
Nope, its just the standard T-mobile WM5 2.26 ROM.
well, i think because Wizzard is only 195Mhz. You need to get CPU sometime to breath.
I doubt its the processor overstressed. It didn't do this when I first got the phone and I haven't changed anything. It just started doing this randomly. I have noticed now that the storage card I was using won't read at all. I've tried plugging it into the phone and my computer and I can't read anything on the card. Sounds like some sort of hardware malfunction to me...
Maybe your card is corrupted and is causing your problems. Does it still close whatever window you're in if the card is removed?
I have since removed the card and still have the same problems.
I'll try to get a video of what goes on since I'm not sure me explaining it is working out.
Last method.
If it continues to do the closing window staff. Then you tell the your Wizzard, I will brick you, if you ever do the same bloody thing again.
i'v noticed a few issues..maybe some one can shed more light on this.
1) i get this message on startup that says 'error has occurred with services.exe', has happened ones so far.
2) the "<< >>" keys on the side of my slide button goes missing every so often.
3) on the notification page the close tab some times does not appear as a button, it's just there and works fine when i touch it.
4) the phone seem to go on speaker for no apparent reason and i cant switch it back from the menu tab. soft reset is the only way to sort this out, has happened twice to me now in abt a month.
any and all help will be appreciated.

sorry abt the delay...i'm using 1.48.405.2
I was on the same ROM as you and had no problems. I would suggest the following:
Backup your data using eg Sprite backup, then hard reset the phone so the ROM loads back in from scratch.
Keep the number of applications you load back up to a minimum and see whether the problems reoccur. If they don't you should be good but if they return then post up here again and we can see how else to help.
Incidentally which network did you buy your phone from or is it sim free?

hi all,
since a day i have an extremely annoying issue with the note3 (sm-9005)
first, when it boots - it takes ca.10 minutes. stuck on the samsung animated logo.
then the black screen appears with the status bar (which i can drag down). normally i should have a lock screen appearing. but it just remains black. and in the status bar i have a message " you can now safely remove sd card" and "tap to enter knox". nothing happens when tapping those two...
can i play back an update from the SD card so that FW renews and i don't have to so factory reset and reinstall everything?
(ps. when connecting phone to a pc it shows no disks inside the phone so that if it still was locked...)
thanks in advance!
What do you mean by an update ???

well same thing as one would do using kies, only somehow without kies. i saw in the recover boot an option "apply update from external storage" and was wondering what file could i use for that?
i have SWC region on my device...
Answer is no via above.
Firmware update is via Kies or Odin .
Alternative is custom rom via custom recovery .

UPD: after some searching i was able to unlock the device through samsung's findmomybile. however, half of the apps are missing, most of the ones which are not missing do not work, etc...
i guess not much left but factory reset. hopefully these are not corrupt internal storage problems.

Did anyone come up with a solution to this other than findmymobile? I have had the same problem with my Note 3, e.g. taking 5-10 mins to load up from power off, the dreaded black screen with the power / wifi / etc icons shown on the top. My Note 3 was password protected as well, meaning I can't get into it even with Kies. I have the latest stock firmware installed.
I hadn't installed any apps to my phone before it died, however I do recall a security update being installed earlier in the day (this looked like an official Android one).
Any ideas? I went along to a Samsung Service Centre for help and they had told me that they had seen at least 5 cases of this on a Note 3 over the last two days.

I did not receive any response from anyone from anywhere. So I tried on myself and started manipulating every corner. I tried bluetooth and I could backup my contacts. It was the first victory.
I restarted into safemode by holding down the Down Volume for about 10 minutes! I wanted to try calling via pc via bluetooth. Just as a blind try. Meanwhile I saw a Knox notofication I had seen before so I just clicked carelessly. Vow!! The Knox Lock Screen was there blinking behind some error messages. I tried my lock pattern but nothing happended. I tried more and more, I was thinking this may corrupt the LCD! because it was blinking and went on off rapidly.
I saw that a counter is reducing. 20 attempts left.. 19 attempt... I worked hard till 4 or 3 then some message popup saying knox may be uninstalled. I said who cares? and went on. finally knox was uninstalled. I continued manipulating other available corners of the Note 3 and after a while I restarted and vow!! It was like back to life!
I came here writing for those who are out there seeking every corner of the web for a liitle bit of information.
I backed up my stuff and did a factory reset. It seems fine now.
I suggest manipulating every possible sequence of events. It will pop up some error and then the answer may rise!
best wishes
in my case i unlocked it with findmymobile, backed up stuff to SD card and did factory reset without much further thinking.
phone works fine until today
